Somewhat of a heritage hotel with lounges for coffee and drinks on the first floor. Comfortable but not cookie-cutter five star. It has character Walkable from the Bahnhof (train and bus station) and about a 20 minute walk from the Mozart museums and cathedrals and the Residenze Palace on the River Salzach. Shorts bus rides take you to the Hellbrunn Palace and the cog railway to the Hehensalzburg Fortress. Purchase the Salzburg card to gain entry at reasonable rates to all of these.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was perfect, and the lounge, bar, and patio were a delight. It felt like stepping back in time! If we ever return to Salzburg, we will definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved this hotel! The room was clean and had everything you need, the common area is amazing, great style, free coffee and tea and very very cozy! Loved the garden as well, spent several hours there just reading and enjoying nice weather. Thank you so much the staff, super helpful and kind!

A lovely hotel in the middle of the city. It’s about 5 minutes walk from the historic university gardens and another 5 minutes to the area below the fortress. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is parking available either through the hotel or close by on the street. If you are going to Salzburg and looking for a place to stay I would recommend the Hotel Markus Sittikus.
