We're all aware that most trips on Viator are actually WAY less expensive if you contact the agency directly. But we agree to pay because Viator kind of guarantees quality and a couple perks more. This, unfortunately, was not the case. I asked around, and the agency price for the trip has around 20 USD, and I paid roughly 3x that. And again, I'm all in if it's worth it, but: - Really packed and uncomfortable boat. - The trip was supposed to last 8 hours and it lasted 11 because: - One of the boat's engines broke down and we had to wait for another ship to come tow us. And I mean, these things can happen, the problem is that: - They waited for almost AN HOUE before they told us what was going on. - Overall quality felt really poor.

Itinerary
Salvador's nautical terminal, where they will embark for the beginning of the tour, so this is the destination at the end of the tour, where they will disembark.
The tropical island tour provide many great moments, We will disembark in one of the 56 islands that surround the bay, the island Paradise of Friars which provides us with a beautiful scenery, beaches, lakes, waterfalls, mountains, palm trees, and native trees including Pau-Brazil. You will have a relaxing time by the seashore. (on the island of friars an environmental tax of BRL 10 per person will be charged)
Island of Itaparica, the largest island in Brazil, a site rich in history that is preserved both in its architecture and in its religious groups of African origin that add a touch of magic to this picturesque site. On this island, we will have time to have lunch in a restaurant specialized in local cuisine, and spend the afternoon enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

Great experience. Would haven been better if they had English translator but was a beautiful adventure.
This was one of my favorite experiences while in Bahía. Our guide, Wilson was incredibly friendly, patient, and kind as he guided us to the boat and translated everything the boat captain was saying. Wilson is also incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of this place. I enjoyed learning about the origins of the samba music that we were listening to during the boat ride. The samba musicians were friendly and played great music. The first island we went to had the most amazing beach - I could have spent many days there if I could, as the water was so calm and warm. The lunch we had at the second island was delicious. We sailed back as the sun was setting and got amazing views from the water. Our group can call Wilson a friend, because we had so much fun getting to know him and truly enjoyed his company.
Very good excursion with a boat and good music on board. The staff and the musicians are very kind. The island are great too. We had a lot of fun!
This tour is definitely overpriced for tourists. You can get on the same tour by going to the port and purchasing it there. A friend of mine ended up on the same boat as me but only paid AR$60. Even though we indicated English on the form, all instruction on the boat were in Portuguese. With all that said, I highly recommend this tour because the beaches were very nice and relaxing. The boat ride was also fun with a live band entertaining the passengers, and the food (buffet which was not included in the price) was amazing.
Beautiful beaches and secluded, if You like that. Had the whole beach to ourselves. May have been 10 other people on the whole beach. Only complaint was the long wait to get back on ferry to Salvador
First stop at Ilha dos Frades, very good beach, scenery and strucure. Second at Itaparica, just a tourist trap. Nothing more than a strip of sand and a restaurant. Beach just average. Not even a pier. Need to take small and less secure boat.
The excursion was beautiful and well organized, the guide Vicente is the island of itaparica very good in its explanations By putting somewhat deficient landing on the island of itaparica, it could be solved otherwise to not tread water
The tour is nice, despite the distance between the islands, the places are beautiful and the stop Pro lunch was in a great beach club restaurant.
I highly recommend the private tour to Ilha de Frades with the company @passeiosidf. The boat pilot "O Marujo" is very different, patient and I always ask Neto to make the tour more relaxed, in addition to recommending the lunch, which was top notch.
you pay the boat, have a queue, delay to arrive, then you have to pay another fee (for some people the tour paid before for others not, I didn't understand the reason). But until then, it's okay. Therefore when you arrive at the destination, they take you to a restaurant in the middle of nothing, bad dear, that they have partnership, and you stay there without doing anything obliged to go to the restaurant or stay without doing anything. And then wait all the trip back that was bad. For those who like to walk hours by boat and eat in such a restaurant "pay about 60-80 reais and eat at will" is worth it.
Overpriced, it is better to take on site directly or elsewhere but not here! 60€ per person while on the same boat most people paid 17€! The duration spent on the islands is too short about 2 hours on each a little just to enjoy...
Very nice walk the boat chooses its stops carefully so that you can enjoy the scenery and discover the main beaches of the island Meals on the boat simple but very good I just wish the guide could explain a little more about the history of the island She does it very well in Portuguese but for the others it is very summary
A great musical Mood and a festive Brazilian atmosphere on the boat. The staff with little care and a good caipirinha.
The island of the frades is veryoo boaa, one tip is to take a photo in the two existing churches on the island, and take a photo well below the waterway in the stones.
It is a short and enjoyable trip for those who are in Salvador and embark on the island of Itaparica. My wife and I loved it very much and we intend to return, as well as on the island of São Paulo. Congratulations to those who have good taste and enjoy the tours they make. The north and northeast of Brazil is all good for walking.
The excursion is very basic... we did not go to Itaparica, we were left on the island but on the beach and we could not make the walk to the city. We were fooled all the time. They are very lucky to have the natural riches they have because they are not good services. On the contrary, when we didn’t understand something about an entrance card to the stopper of the island Itaparica (which is the only place on the island they took us) we were treated very badly, aggressively. I didn't like it at all.
We went on the boat called Apollonius. Departure time at 9:00.. departed at 9:40... Return at 15:30... He left after 16:00. You waste a lot of time going out, sailing, going back... Structure on the horrible beach.... To see beach... It is better a structured...
Magnificent option to sail on a boat with music show, drinks and snack on board for 2/3 hours. bound for the Isla do Frades, with its unique beaches of turquoise waters and the option to visit the chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe (smaller replica of the one in Mexico), from there to Itaparica, another paradise with a very good alternative of lunch and beach.
Beautiful boat crossing, with an accompaniment of musicians who get in the Mood. We arrive by boat and we must finish in the water until the beach. Provide shorts or better swimsuit. We completed on the spot with a visit to the island by coach, which makes stops at the fort, has the source of youth. Superb day
The tour was very good, the boat was safe and clean, the landscape is wonderful to take the breath, the trip starts on time.
Wonderfully relaxed excursion to beautiful islands, good extensive lunch and samba music. Cozy Mood and goes cocktails. Recommended!
Travel from Salvador to Isla Itaparica direct - 10 people on board - waves of 3-4 meters (fatal) It was horrible, because waves of 3 meters ya and too much to travel in the catamaran in the sea 10 km. The sanitario was very frequent.
The islands, the walkway and the customs that have to be paid for apart are not the big deal, they are new, the beach leaves a lot to be desired and the Brazilians only expect you to eat and drink, during the tour and in the locals, the tourist wants to walk. On the islands you're left pretty abandoned. Lunch is disgusting and expensive, full of flies and bad food fermenting in the Mood heat, deep down like bugs, drinks apart. Better eat some fresh fish minutes in the main restaurant overlooking the beach and a cold beer as the locals do.
Sensational tour... all very organized! It was very fun, and I would definitely do it more often! Helpful and careful staff!
The trip by schooner is very nice. The beaches of the two islands are transparent and warm waters. There is not much time to go if you want to enjoy the sea.In Itaparica the food is not good and expensive for what they serve. There's no natural leftover just umbrellas. In Itaparica you can walk quite far offshore as there is like a very nice natural pool. Returning at sunset you can see a beautiful view of Salvador from afar. It is advisable to make this excursion.
It is a wonderful tour with lots of beautiful views and excellent beaches! Not to mention the trail made of escuna which is in itself something very beautiful and interesting. Your Tour Brazil was by far the best option to make this tour, in addition to an excellent service the same has great guides.
Excellent! have to do this excursion if you go to Salvador! The trip with music, fruits and caipirinhas!, Frades beach a swimming pool in the sea, lunch in Itaparica typical food....incredible!
It was a wonderful walk, a driver picked us up at the door of the guest house and led us to the harbour where we picked the escuna and spent the day visiting these 2 beautiful islands, in turn the driver took us back to the guest house! Much professionalism and commitment! We love it!!
