About Activity
On this 4-hour tour, explore Salvador from another perspective and head up to Itapagipe Peninsula where life moves slower than the bustling upper city. Here we’ll see fishermen fishing from their canoes, locals collecting shellfish at low tide, schooners moored up and gently rocking with the waves, and the famous Bonfim church. This is one of Brazil's most important churches for religious pilgrimage, deeply influenced by Candomblé beliefs. From here we continue to the Monserrat district to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, and then on to the Mercado Modelo: a thriving market for local goods and souvenirs. This is a great place to test out your bargaining skills! This tour makes a great addition to the Historical City Tour.
