We will start our learning &discovering experience at the iconic Lighthouse of Barra, located in Santo Antônio Fort, where we will walk around the place taking great pictures and enjoying the breeze. This is the entrance of the Bay of All Saints.
This is where the Portuguese Thomé de Souza founded Salvador! The most democratic beach of the city, warm and calm waters, where you find all kinds of people. I strongly recommend to spend a morning or come back during the sunset.
The Fort now holds the Espaço Pierre Verger of Baian Photography
One of the oldest churches in Brazil and a great view of the Bay of All Saints+ views from the Community Vila Brandão
In this church we have beautiful Gregorian music during Sundays
This important square celebrates Baian Independence
Iconic place with interesting buildings
The Cathedral is consider one of the most important churches of Brazil and it was the 4th temple done by the jesuits in Salvador on the 17th Century and has a magnificent collection of Sacred Art.
Here we are at the top of the hill, were the first Capital of Brazil was built. In this square we have the famous Lacerda Elevator from the 19th Century that connects the Lower and the High City. Rio Branco Palace that was the headquarters of the first Governor of Brazil, Thomé de Souza, the City Hall and the Casa de Camara where the municipal administration still works. We will start to explore the Historical Center Pelourinho by foot, visiting the Cathedral and São Francisco of Assis Convent & Church. We have time for street food or a restaurant. This is the chance to interact with local people diving into our daily life.
Built in the beginning of the 18th Century, the Church & Convent of São Francisco is one of the Seven Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the Word . Beautiful tiles and jacaranda wood plus lots of gold and paintings from local artists makes part of this outstanding complex.
The famous Square where nowadays lays the Foundation Casa Jorge Amado, one of my favorites writers and also where Michael Jackson performed with Olodum the song “They don’t really care about us”
Great place to lear about our history
Orixas by baian artist Tati Moreno
I suggest to stop here to try the ice cream.
Time to dive into the baian feith
Another great view of the Upper City
Spectacular view of the city & Monteserrat Church. Great place for pictures.

Arriving by cruise ship, we booked a full day private tour focused on the history and cultural richness of Salvador da Bahia. We could not have been more pleased, as we were blessed by having Gabriela as our personal guide and mentor! She is charming, very knowledgeable and articulate in at least three languages. In one brief day we felt like we had become friends and found a kindred spirit. You would be very fortunate to have her you show you the wonders of her beautiful city!
Yesterday we had a tour of Upper and Lower Salvador, Bahia, and it was an incredible experience. Our tour guide, Gabriela, was outstanding. She was extremely knowledgeable, explained the history and culture in great detail, and took her time to make sure we understood and enjoyed every stop. Her passion for Salvador truly showed throughout the tour. She was patient, professional, and made the experience both educational and enjoyable. We highly recommend Gabriela to anyone looking for an exceptional tour guide in Salvador. Thank you for making our visit so memorable! Danissa Grizzle
Gabriela was such a wonderful tour guide! Engaging, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth, I really appreciated how much Gabriela made sure we got the most out of a full tour of Salvador. It was the perfect entry point to our trip! I cannot thank her enough for all of the customized suggestions she provided as we continue to explore Salvador!
We had a wonderful tour with Gabriela around Salvador! Gabriela is a fantastic and passionate guide who clearly loves what she does, as well as the culture and history of Salvador. She made us feel very safe while walking around the city and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit and enjoy. We could easily have spent many more hours exploring with her. Gabriela is an exceptional storyteller, and although historical tours can sometimes be a bit dry, she made every story engaging, interesting, and memorable. We highly recommend Gabriela to anyone visiting Salvador!

Highly recommend this private tour with Gabriela. She showed us the favorite haunts of locals and even took us to the best ice cream shop. She was very knowledgeable about the local history as we walked Pelirunho area. She was especially attentive to our needs as one of our party was unwell.
Gabriela is a great ambassador for Salvador de Bahia. I learned about the fascinating history of Salvador and the festivals. During the tour I saw sights such as Iglesia de Nuestro Señor de Bonfim, Museu da Gastronomia Baiana, Casa de Yemanja and much more. Gabriela, thank you for providing me a wonderful introduction to this beautiful region. I hope to return soon.
Gabriela has a broad and deep understanding of the history and culture of the city.During the day we exchanged views on a wide range of subjects making the day even more enjoyable.
My 15 year old and I spent a wonderful day together with Gabi. Gabi showed us many interesting parts of Salvador and taught us about the history and culture. She made it interesting for a teenager too! There was some walking but a lot was by car. I highly recommend Gabi for a tour in Salvador!
Excellent knowledgeable guide, Gabriela, leading a very informative tour of the city. Very observant of our interests & needs, catering to them accordingly. Great lunch stop, Cuco....local cuisine. City sights by car & walking.. just a shame the public buildings were covered in boarding due to carnival! Recommended
We had the wonderful João take us around Salvador. He was perfect. Very interesting, funny and great company all day.
Gabriela met us near the cruise ship at about 8:15am and from there, we had a lovely 6 hour tour of the city, with a lunch stop, (our expense) in the touristy, (but a must see), area of upper old town. Gabriela’s English is excellent and her knowledge of the city is superb. Although there are countless churches in Salvador, we limited our visits to the Bonfim Basilica. Had we seen more, the tour would have extended another hour. Book this tour without concern. It’s massively better value than any cruise ship excursion.
Our guide Ana took us on a full day adventure seeing the very best of Salvador. She was informative, helpful, very nice—we lived her! Don’t hesitate to book with this company. Service was top-notch all the way. Anything you’d like to see in Salvador, Ana will make it happen.
We loved touring Sqlvador with Gabriella. We booked an all day tour that started at 10 am from our hotel. She took us around the city’s most significant neighborhood by car and on foot. She knows the local history real well and she clearly loves telling others about it. Gabriella who is originally from Argentina also speaks very good English which we found was rare in the north east. We highly recommend her!
Gabriela is an excellent tour guide! She seems to know everything about a complex and fascinating city. Her love of the food, culture and history of the place is impressive, and she communicates very well.
I really can’t say enough about how great this tour with Gabriela was! She is such a warm, friendly and knowledgeable person ~ You couldn’t ask for a better guide! She also graciously accommodated my mobility challenges and always checked in with me, but in a way that I didn’t feel self conscious when I had limitations. Her knowledge base is incredible, and I enjoyed talking with her about many aspects of life in Bahia/Brazil. For you foodies, she took me to a wonderful restaurant for lunch that was so good, I had to go back and enjoyed a delicious dinner several days later! I also learned so much from her about the region’s history - I was sharing the info on the next excursion I took! So if you want to really experience Salvador, do it with Gabriela and you won’t regret it!
The tour with Gabriella was wonderful. She guided us through the main tourist attractions in Salvador, offering insightful explanations about the city's rich history and culture. What made the experience even more special was the opportunity to see non-tourist areas and enjoy stunning scenery in a safe and convenient way. This gave us a deeper understanding of the local people's reality and their cultural heritage.
Gabriela does a great job at sharing her experience and knowledge of the area. She is also a wealth of knowledge with resources to answer questions you may have unrelated to the tour. Be prepared to walk, laugh, explore, learn, taste and have fun. DJ and Friends
Gabriela was an amazing tour guide. She was very informative and painstaking told us the history of Salvador and drove us in her clean car to all the important landmarks in Salvador. She was very social, sweet and we felt very safe. Highly recommend the tour. Thank you Gabriela
The tour was very informative and fun. I saw and learned things I would not have otherwise. Plus Gabriela is personable, fun and really a pleasure to spend time with.
Gabi was amazing. It was a great insightful fun tour first with thr car around the city, stepping out at interesting points and exploring different neighbourhoods; then by foot through the old town. Everything at my pace with flexibility to adapt to what was interesting to me. Highly recommended.
Gabriela is very nice guide, I know much history of bahia ,Very good advice, excellent service, a person who understands customers very well, takes good care of me. highly recommend this tour
Beautiful tour of the city with the most amazing guide. Gabriella is very knowledgeable and speaks great English. She educated us on the history of Bahia, Brazil and the amazing people. She has excellent dining, beach and event recommendations. She’s very easy to get in touch with and made our first time memorable.
Salvador is an amazing city with a huge amount to see. We were on a cruise so only had a short time here and wanted to make the most of it. This was the first time we had used a private guide and it worth every penny. Gabriela is extremely knowledgeable, warm and friendly but professional and she made our visit an absolute joy. And she knows just about everyone! We were able to move against or ahead of the crowds using her knowledge and contacts and as a result saw and learnt much more than we would have without her. We saw Salvador from all sides, all the sites we wanted to see and a few more we didn’t know about. We loved every minute and left with 100s of photographs and many fond memories. If you are a fan of ice creams or sorbets, do follow her recommended stop, they are amazing.
Amazing day in Salvador. Gabriella is a very knowledgeable and happy person who loves her city and loves to show it to visitors. We packed a lot of sights in one day, tour was very informative and it’s been a great immersive experience in the culture of the Bahia.
Amazing tour! Gabriela is super informative and has a vast knowledge of Salvador. She makes the tour fun and engaging. Can't wait to visit Salvador again!
Gabriella was fun, personable, knowledgeable, and professional. This tour was one of the best I’ve been on and all of my travels. I highly recommend booking this tour. You will not regret it 10 out of 10 experience.
What a great tour and host! Gabriella was just one of the best. The moment I met her I knew we would be fast friends. I have such a wonderful time with her visiting all the different parts of Salvador. If you are planning to visit and want to hit all the highlights, please consider a tour with her. You will not regret it. I learned so much over the day, and I left Salvador having a deeper appreciation of the people and their culture. This tour comes highly recommended!
Top tier all the way. Gabriella was an amazing host and my sister and I enjoyed our full day of learning the rich history of Salvador with her expert guidance. Her tour provided a great mix of knowledge around history, personal experiences and and it was tailored to fit our needs. Specifically, what I enjoyed most was the great mix of navigating the city and seeing some of the sites and also having the opportunity to get out and walk around to get a more in depth view of certain parts of the city. She also took us to some of the hidden gems that as a tourist, you may not find on your own. And helped us navigate around and identifying aeeas we should not be going to, and we felt immensely safe. We trusted her word around food options and other activities and other things to do on our own.
I formative trip about the city, some key people who founded it, architecture and important buildings. There is however much more to see and you will be left with tips where to go on yoir own. You gonna also.learn about afro-brazilian parts and may visit few shops & restaurants where you experience local cusine and find local products. If you already know something about city or Brazil the trip may be tailored to your needs.
Our tour began when Gabriella picked me up from the hotel. The tour covered the upper and lower part of Salvador. Gabriella was patient and explained each place in detail and gave me enough time to take pictures and do some self exploring. This is a really good tour if you have a day to see Salvador and it’s really hard to go through all these spots as they are more popular with the locals and Gabriella covered it really well
Gabriela was prompt and friendly upon pickup. She's very knowledgeable and tailors the tour to things you're more or less interested in. We felt very safe with her and it's clear she knows everyone around town. The tour gave us a great lay of the land and we felt we hit all the famous spots we wanted to see. She even answered some follow up questions we had which was very helpful in planning our remaining time. I would highly recommend Gabriela for any tour.
Gabriela is such a gem! She is very personable, funny, and knowledgeable about the African history in Brazil. I only had time to tour one day due to my short time frame but wished I'd booked a 3 day tour with her so we could explore Salvador and go deeper into the African history!! I will definitely contact her again and I will definitely return to Salvador de Bahia again!!
We had a delightful time with Gabriella on our first day in the city. Gabriella is incredibly knowledgable and welcoming. We learnt about the history of the city with lots of interseting facts about the churches, buildings and people. She was also very accomodating of our plans and was happy to take a quick detour for us. Highly recommend.
Very happy with the tour. It covers all key spots and places Gabriela is full of energy, knowledge, dicas (tips) Definitely recommend!
Gabriela was an amazing tour guide. It was clear from the beginning that we would experience a unique type of tour. Not only was she knowledgeable about the city and had answers to all our questions, her love for the city and the people were evident. She showed us all the city had to offer, the good, the bad, and the beautiful.
Gabriela is a professional guide with full enthusiams for arts, literature and african roots and culrure of Bahia. You should select her if you like a perfect approach of Salvador’s present and past within a limited time.
Gabby is an amazing guide. She is passionate about Salvador, its residents and history. She is extremely knowledgeable of Afro Brazilian culture and religions. What I also like about her is she is super flexible. My mom really wanted to go to a particular destination and she made it happen. She was very patient and kind with my mother who moves slower these days. We enjoyed every minute and wish we would have booked her for a few days to see all of Salvador Bahia 😃.
Gabriela is a very kind and knowledgeable tour guide. She graciously waited for us at our hotel when our flight was delayed, she very kindly agreed to push back the start of our tour. She provided a lot of insight into the history of Salvador, the culture of Bahia and local hot spots. She also took us to eat and some great local spots.
Highly recommended tour. Gabriela was a fantastic and discreet guide and made us see / learn about cultural aspects that without her we would hardly have grasped like the religious syncretism between Afro-Brazilian and Catholic cults (candomblè) or the overall view we had over the city visiting less touristy areas or trying local products like juices or having lunch in a very good place together.
Icaro our guide was very friendly, he knows the city and the history of Brazil very well. We had a great day visiting Salvador with him. They recommended a lot of things, like the restaurant.
It is a very complete tour of the city. The guides are excellent, very friendly, flexible and you rating they love what they do. We had the opportunity to take pictures, see emblematic places and clear up several doubts about the culture and history of Salvador. The friendliness and willingness to help by the guides is a 10/10. In my case due to weather problems our arrival flight to Salvador was delayed 24 h, so we did not arrive in time to attend the initial date booked, but that was not a problem, as Gabriela resolved everything and we managed to relearn for 2 days later, a luxury! In addition we had to change accommodations just the day of the excursion and were allowed to take the bags in transport throughout the excursion and then take them to the new accommodation. We really enjoyed the visit to the house of the artist Prentice, he is someone endearing who welcomes you with a smile and humility and treats you like someone of the family, without doubt this part of the excursion was very nice. Then the walk through Pelourinho was very interesting and we could see several artists showing and doing their art, it is a magical place. I highly recommend this tour!
Excellent day with Gabriela Parnatti. We lived it as if we were family. In a very friendly Mood, Gabriela offered us a very complete tour of Salvador de Bahia and made us benefit from her very rich and diverse knowledge. She is very familiar with the history of Salvador, the province, and Brazil in general. Gabriela also speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English. An unforgettable day!
I had a great day with Gabriela, an Argentinean guide who is adorable and smiling, and especially who knows Salvador very well. We were lucky to have a beautiful day, which was also a holiday. I will keep a very good memory of this day and advise it 100%
Gabriela was a wonderful tourist guide. She took some time to explain everything to me. I was able to practice my Portuguese. She adapted the tour to my interests. I learned a lot about the culture and the places.
The historic center of Salvador is amazing, a lot of culture and diversity, our Guide Gabriela Parnetti has made our lives much easier, she is friendly, polite and knows English very well, was a great Guide!
Tour of historic Salvador, starting at the Faro da Barra and ending in Monserrat, passing through the upper city in the morning and lower in the afternoon. Excellent. Everything wonderful with our guide Gabriela, gave us the best information showing that she enjoys doing it, that is, the best combination!!!
We had a lovely day. We knew a lot about the history of the place and its customs.Gabriela a genius. A well prepared , predisposed and loving Guide who very much enjoys your work.Thankss
Carnival in Salvador is a mix of colors, flavors and a lot of human and cultural diversity. Wherever you go, you see a little bit of Brazil on every corner. And at Carnival it couldn't be any different. A mix of axé, samba, Africanity and Brazilianness wherever you look. Approved
