The tour was okay, but I was pretty disappointed with the guide. The driver was late, the guide was not very professional and didn’t really enrich the sites. He was hard to understand at times and was constantly going off and socializing with other people. He knew some dates and facts, but I felt like I had to ask a lot of questions to get him to tell us information. He did get us safely through the city and to all of the sites. I have been on other tours in other cities and a good tour guide can really bring a tour to life. I felt like googling everything to actually learn more.

Best guide! Fantastic experience, I really got to understand and see Salvador and some of the history in a short amount of time. Thank you!
Excellent tour in Salvador. I saw most of the city and got vert interesting explanations. I spoke Portuguese but my guide was very fluent in English as well.
We had a fabulous tour around Salvador, learning about its rich culture and visiting some of the most beautiful locations. Thank you Vincente for being a wonderful, knowledgeable and fun guide. We had a great time!
We had an incredible experience exploring Salvador with Jose Quiroiz, our tour guide. He was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. We gained a much deeper appreciation for Salvador’s rich Afro-Brazilian heritage, vibrant neighborhoods, and unique atmosphere. We would highly recommend this guide to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable experience.
Monia was an absolutely phenomenal tour guide in Salvador. From the very beginning, she made the city come alive in a way that was both deeply informative and emotionally moving. She guided us through historic neighborhoods and sacred sites while beautifully weaving together the history of Brazil, the African influence, and the cultural soul of Salvador. Her storytelling was rich, thoughtful, and powerful—you could feel how much love and pride she has for her city and its heritage. What made this tour truly special was how she helped us feel Salvador, not just see it. By the end of the day, we didn’t just understand the history—we fell in love with the city itself. The music, the spirituality, the resilience, the beauty—Monia honored all of it with grace and intelligence. If you want more than a surface-level tour—if you want depth, context, culture, and heart—Monia is the guide you want. This was one of the highlights of our time in Brazil, and we are so grateful for the experience. Highly, highly recommend.
Flexible approach and very knowledgeable tour guide. Teenagers engaged with the information and we didn’t feel hurried
The booking of Your Tour was extremely easy and professional. Marco was lovely to talk with and worked with me to curate a one-of-a-kind experience, considering both my interests and time constraints. Payment was also very easy and seamless as well. Wilson was our tour guide and he is impeccable. His knowledge of Salvador’s history, culture, and customs is impressive and likely unmatched. He was kind, professional and funny, adding a unique twist to a tour of the city. Our driver, Heraldo, was safe, reliable and timely. Not only would I recommend this company and guide to anyone visiting Salvador, I look forward to booking them again when I return to the city.
Very good guide, local person! We were inspired by Salvador and local culture, seen all main sights.
Our tour of Salvador was truly exceptional, thanks to our guide, Vagner. He arrived early, ready to share his extensive knowledge of Salvador, its history, the Afro-Brazilian culture, and the local community. Vagner provided excellent information about Salvador and the various sights we visited. Some of the sights we hoped to see were closed, but Vagner made up for it by sharing information about what we would have seen. Vagner also shared information about activities we could do later. The restaurant recommendations he offered were also superb, adding another highlight to our day. We truly enjoyed every moment of this tour and highly recommend it!
Vagner is an excellent guide. He knows so much about history, religion including Candomble, anthropology and Jorge Amado and music and probably more we didn’t ask or have time to talk about. Great way to spend some time in Salvador.
Amazing tour of all the main historical sights. Vagner was so knowledgeable and also very kind. Highly recommend if you want to understand more about how colonialism has shaped Salvador.
Fernando Bingre was an excellent guide. It was a great tour of the city, covering all the bases very efficiently.
This tour was exactly what I was looking for. It covered a lot of the major sights in about 4 hours. The first 1.5 hours or so was done in a van so that we could see some of the sights outside of the old town area. We then covered the rest of the sights on foot. Our tour guide, Fernando Bingre, was excellent. He speaks great English and did a great job of explaining the different sights as well as the history of Brazil and Salvador. Overall the tour was top notch and a great use of time. I highly recommend the tour and Fernando.
The tour company was fast responding to advance questions and requests to modify the standard tour. Meeting up with the guide and driver at the port was smooth. My spouse was supposed to be coming but was ill so I asked about changing plans to my likes. Monia is a seasoned professional guide and quickly adapted for which I was grateful. She has abundant knowledge and ongoing passion about this area. Despite leading tours for 25 years, she never sounded like she was bored or reading from a script. Monia and the driver made a good team. We saw everything I wanted and some bonus things. Monia brought history to life while sharing about life as it is now. Her passion was a delight and caught me up too, especially at the Carnival museum. Monia patiently answered my dozens of questions and facilitated transactions (like buying popcorn and Bonfim ribbons!) while being very thoughtful about my comfort and stamina in the heat. The company and Monia earned my full star rating.
The Tour guy was very good and explained a lot about the places we went to. There was miscommunication about the time, but she made up for it by spending extra time with us. We highly recommend her.
We had a brilliant time in Salvador. Our guide Vagner is brilliant, he spoke amazing English, covered all the sites and more. He was very patient and considerate. We would highly recommend.
Wilson was extremely knowledgeable and made the day enjoyable. His enthusiasm for the history and culture of Salvador was outstanding. We loved his caring and friendly attitude. Our driver Ariana was capable and friendly We had a wonderful visit to Salvador
Perfect day with our guide, exactly what we needed with a good balance between history and open discussions about Salvador and more generally Brazil
Fantastic day with our guide Sergio! We covered everything in the city and had great fun! Totally happy!
João Luís was very knowledgeable about the history. He arranged the tour flexibly according to my own interest.
Monia is a terrific guide! Great overview of the city’s layout and history, and lots of great recommendations for other things to do around town!
Wilson was the best guide! He was super smart, friendly, considerate and spoke fantastic English. Mi husband and I got to see all the sights that Salvador has to offer along with information Wilson gave us about the history, culture and people of this interesting place. He extended and adjusted our tour to end with and include showing us a perfect restaurant in a locals only area where we could see the sunset. I highly recommend this tour!
We chose whatever we wanted because it was a tour for us alone. We even got to stop and have a mango smoothie and eat a traditional lunch. We enjoyed our beautiful day!
Wilson Badaro was the consummate guide and historian for our tour, balancing the needs of an anthropologist and two teenage boys. We enjoyed seeing and learning of the history of Bahia from the lighthouse at the Bay of Saints to the sounds of Olodum to the square of Jorge Amado where Michael Jaxson performed to showcase the inequities in human rights. We learned of the churches that encircle the city and tell of its history from the Portuguese to the Dutch to the Chinese. We enjoyed an in-depth look at the Church of St Francis. From the Portuguese titles and their meditative lessons to the golden carvings to the black saints, Wilson weaves history into the details and helped create new perspectives and understanding. We have traveled the world and participated in many guided tours from Ecuador to Turkey to South Africa. Wilson and Your Tour is simply the best. He is a skilled historian, professor, host and student. While we were walking the streets folks came up to him asking for his number. He is a national treasure. We hope to meet him again someday! But perhaps today is your lucky day.
Joao was supremely knowledgeable about the sights, dates and history of Salvador. He was very friendly and accommodating on our bespoke tour and I am the wiser for it
Of all our years of travel, this was simply the most horrifying tour, ever. It wasn't actually a tour. The Guide appeared to be intoxicated from the beginning. He argued with the driver constantly. He only had WIFI service on his cell, so he could never reach the driver after we were dropped. We didn't enter any buildings or churches, just a grocery store where he had us buy him bagels while he flirted with women. There was no commentary as we drove by interesting sites of historical value. Finally, we demand to be returned to the port/ship and the driver got lost and we were stuck on a dead end street and no way out. Once again they started arguing. The Guide made us get out of the vehicle and we were forced to walk blocks back to the ship through potentially dangerous and unknown areas. We have demanded a full refund for a wasted day in a beautiful port of call. We have friends that went on a different tour/operator and their experience was amazing.
A great day out with a very knowledgeable helpful and considerate guide ! On time pick up and drop off and great air con vehicle! We got to see all we wanted to see before returning to the shp !
Our guide was engaging, well informed and personable. We had a wonderful experience with him, and I highly recommend him to others.
our guide jean luise made a great job, the tour was very flexible in selection of attractions, loaded of information and experiences
We had a most knowledgeable, flexible and interesting tour of Salvador. At our own speed following our own i terests.
Our Tour guide, was so gentle with my 80 years mom, and all the stories we learn form Salvador History
I had such a great time, Vagner is an amazing guide with a wealth of knowledge. He gave me tips on how to stay safe and even helped me order vegan street food. I highly recommend this tour group!! I also recommend checking on line when places are open, a lot are closed on sundays.
a different way to know the history and culture of Salvador. Um jeito diferente de conhecer a história e a cultura de Salvador
We really enjoyed this walking tour of Pelourinho and other parts of the Bay in Salvador. Our guide was Jorge and he was excellent, kind and friendly. He has so much information about the city and it was just fascinating to learn. It was our first time in Salvador and it was the perfect tour to do on our first day. Thank you Jorge!
Very informative and knowledgeable guide, found out some interesting facts about Salvador and took in the best views of the city.
Wonderful city tour with Vagner. He is so knowledgable on the city’s history and took us to see the highlights of Salvador.highly recommend Vagner and Your Tour Brazil❤️
The tour was enjoyable. Salvador has a rich history and our tour guide was great explaining a lot of Salvador’s past. I also appreciated that it was done in English
Walking through the old city and seeing old churches with all the gold. Our guide was good with a lot of information
was totally awesome. guide was super knowledgeable and very resourceful. had a great time. loved the black history.
My experience is very similar to the one experienced by Sarah V. The guide was knowledgeable and very friendly and he did take us to a lot of historical areas in and around the city. He also was very nice in taking pictures of us. However, I had to give this tour an average rating because just as Sarah V mentioned in her tour, I too was felt pressured to purchase items. I understand that the guide probably wanted to help out people in his community and bring in folks that will help to contribute to the local economy. I get it and actually don't have too much of a problem with it. I did take exception to the fact that instead of taking us to a couple of places to shop, we went to ATLEAST SEVEN PLACES. Plus once we went to the market area, we definitely felt pressure from multiple shops to purchase items. Furthermore, when we were dropped off at the Pelourinho area, he asked us to stay inside of a store while we waited for him to park and come and get us. This to me seemed like a ploy whereby the proprietors of the store tried to get us to purchase things. If you go on this tour just be mindful that aside from learning about the rich history of Salvador, you may also be taken to more stores than you care to enter.
Wagner was a great tour guide. Had loads of knowledge about Salvador and spoke great English. Would highly recommend him.
It was an excellent trip. I was interested in culture. Visited some candomble temples, some art museums, attended some concerts. I had a great time in Salvador da Bahia.
This was a great mix of walking, participating (restaurants and shops), and driving. Ronaldo was incredibly accommodating with pictures, our timing, and the elements we did and didn't want to see. He was very knowledgeable about the city, the churches, and their history as well as the other elements of the tour and surroundings.
Ronaldo gave us information about many elements of the drive to Salvador and then many more within the city. He knew the histories of all major and minor points of interest (and was asked questions by other tour guides!). He also was very attentive to our comfort and needs as well as our timing.
The tour is advertised as private , but is not. The tour operator did not communicate with us, like other did, so I finally called him. He said that he can't do private that day because of the carnival and we will have other people. He insisted that we cancel if wed don't like it. i should have listen to him. But we had other tours on minibus and they were great! Well, he sent us a message about pick time at 8:30am, we arrived at 8:10. the guide was there and we very happy to see him. He told us that it will be a private car with 2 more people. not too bad so far. The other group od 2 from switzerland came exactly at 8:30 and brought another big guy with them. They insisted that this THEIR private tour, therefore they can bring anyone they want. that person was not booked. They totally ignored the 2 of us who are much older than them The tour guide went to to talk to the manager , who said that this id OK. Now it is 5 of us in the car, + tour guide and the driver. I was allowed to sit in front, the rest piled up in the back. We visited a couple of sites and the tour guide did his best. The day was very hot and it was no water in the vehicle. finally we asked the driver to take us back to the ship. He was very kind, drove us around a bit and brought us back after 2 hrs, i think that he was actually the only one who knew that we are older and tried to help. I don't blame the tour guide and the driver. But I think that tour operator cares more about making a buck than satisfying his customers. We took 4 other tours with viator , private and not. They we all great. We will be very careful next time.
It was a great tour. The host greeted me at my hotel with a private car. He gave me the history of Salvador, the beaches, and sites. If you want to see Salvador in a day, I highly recommend taking this private city tour.
This was probably the best tour we did while we were in Brazil. Wilson, our guide, is a historian by training. He was incredibly knowledgeable and was so enthusiastic about sharing his city with us. It was the perfect combination of information and fun conversation about the Bahian life (including lots of music!) We had a great time. Would definitely recommend!
4 of us enjoyed a marvelous Salvador City tour with our excellent guide, Patrick, about whom I can not say enough. We were arriving by ship so preferred to be picked up at the ship which was no problem for Patrick. Although he had a thorough itinerary laid out for us, we also suggested a couple of other sights of our choosing as well. At the end of our tour we felt like we now had learned and seen many areas of this vibrant city as he returned us to our cruise ship. Patrick spoke English very well, was knowledgeable, conversant, thoughtful, and a very pleasant representative of his beautiful city. He communicated with us by WhatsApp..
We found it really interesting to hear the history of the really beautiful nature sites, great architecture, and history info about this beautiful city. We had a great guide i(Charles) in this automobile and on foot tour. It was about 5 hours of great sites, information, and always keeping our interest under a scorching sun. Time flew by so quickly with the great knowledge and sense of humor of Charles. An unforgetable tour that we coudln't do on our own.
