We have had an excellent experience with Your Tour Brazil in and around Salvador. Services provided were absolutely amazing. The driver and guide were super punctual, and the transportation was not only safe but the driver perfectly used his local knowledge to take side roads and short cuts to avoid traffic and unnecessary waiting times. Our guide Mr. Wilson had profound and deep knowledge of his county and its history, and he spoke excellent English. There is simply one word to describe him: Amazing ! Additionally, the driver & guide were very flexible, adapting the tour and sightseeing last minute according to our wishes and plan. They also added special off-the-beaten-track experiences that were simply amazing and much appreciated. We had booked a private tour though. In summary, we can absolutely and 100% recommend Your Tour Brazil as we experienced top-notch and highly professional services and quality firsthand. We will be back and thanks again to the team for this marvelous experience. Muito obrigado!!

Outstanding experience and one of the highlights of our time in Salvador. Wilson, our guide, was excellent—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate, bringing real depth to everything we saw. The driver was also fantastic—smooth, professional, and made the whole day feel seamless. The visit and lunch with the local family were a standout: incredibly warm, authentic, and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend if you want something meaningful and well-executed.
Best guide I’ve ever had. So knowledgeable and interesting. A 10/10 authentic Salvador experience. I would strongly recommend it
Wilson was the best tour guide we could have ever asked for. Incredibly resourceful and informative, the tour covered the history of Brazil and Salvador with nuance and skill. All the stops we made were amazing, and Wilson even made some changes during the tour to make it more tailored to our interests and needs. Best tour guide we had in our journey across Brazil!
André was an outstanding tour guide! His English was a huge plus and made everything seamless. He fully immersed my family in the local culture while showing us the key sights of Salvador da Bahia. His high energy, passion, and deep knowledge really stood out, and he answered every question we had with enthusiasm. We had such an amazing time that we will definitely be booking with Andrew again next year to tour the countryside. Anyone planning a trip to Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, cannot go wrong booking André.
Our tour guide Fernando was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, personable and we definitely enjoyed the food spots we went to.
A Soulful Journey Through Salvador’s Afro-Brazilian Heart If you’re seeking a tour that goes far beyond sightseeing and dives deep into the soul of Salvador, the Afro Brazilian Roots City Tour with Monia is an absolute must. From start to finish, our day was a masterclass in history, resilience, and cultural pride. Monia, a native Bahian and deeply knowledgeable guide, brought every moment to life with her insider perspective on Afro-Brazilian traditions. Her storytelling was rich, layered, and full of reverence for the people and practices that have shaped Salvador’s identity. One of the most moving stops was our visit to a Candomblé Terreiro, where we learned about the sacred roots of the religion and its powerful connection to Africa. It wasn’t just a building—it was a living vessel of spirit. Each corner held intention: altars blooming with offerings, sacred objects humming with axé, and the palpable presence of the orixás. Monia helped us understand the resistance and spiritual strength it took to preserve these traditions through centuries of persecution. It was humbling and beautiful. We also explored the vibrant San Joaquim market, a sensory feast of colors, flavors, and local life. And the perfect finale? Lunch at Gamboa Favela, where we were treated with good food and a stunning view of the bay. This tour isn’t just informative—it’s transformative. It’s a celebration of Afro-Brazilian heritage, and Monia is the heart of it all. Request her by name. You won’t be disappointed.
A must do experience when in Salvador. My tour guide was phenomenal. Unfortunately, I can’t recall her name at the moment. She was energetic and informative. She helped explain Salvador’s history, customs and culture.
The tour was phenomenal! We were given such a deep, thoughtful insider's guide to Afro-Brazilian arts and culture. The tour guide, Vagner, knew about everything from street art, the best local cuisines and hidden gems to every aspect of Bahian religions, culture and intellectual thought. Truly extraordinary!
The tour in reality appeared to be as expected from the description. Tour guide Vagner was excellent, his English - fluent, so this allowed me not to listen, but to ask various questions as well. We got knowledge about slaves trade, their preservation of traditions, religious rituals, visited places of worship, etc. We were feeling safe and relaxed during the tour, so, it is highly recommended and... ask for Vagner as a guide.
Had Nilson (or Ni) as a guide. Extremely passionate about his city of Salvador. Can speak multiple languages, has the info about almost everything you could ask about in the tour. A great cameraman also. He showed me around the city. We walked to the beaches and some important landmarks. He explained the history and the context for pretty much everything we came across. I think my favorite part of the tour was going to open air market. It was quite an experience for the senses. It was a great tour especially since I had no knowledge of Salvador before coming to Brazil. Ni gave me tons of great info that a lot of people won’t have. He put in the time and research to know everything you could want to know during the tour. Please book with this company. And hopefully you have a great experience as I did.
This tour is a must if you want to learn about the culture. Vanger really knew the history and explained it in terms the you could absorb it easily. Just be prepared to really see lower city. He will immerse you in the culture. And for an added surprise we were invited in to the percussion school where the best percussionist have trained. I really enjoyed the market there was a lot to see, and the people were fanstatiic. I highly recommend this tour!!!!
The experiences delivered by Your Tour Brazil were great. In the planning process, Marcos was clear with the tour options and details as well as pricing. He also arranged airport transfers, which were timely and convenient. Ariana is a great driver!! The tours were very informative and engaging. André was very informative and organized, and really knowledgeable with the Cultural Show and Dinner experience. He is a very engaging person and shared his experiences as a native of Salvador. He also introduced us to local community leaders. We could spend so much more time with him. Wilson was exceptional! Being a historian, he is of the most informative guides we have worked with. Being a great storyteller, we gained great insight into the origins of Salvador and African-Brazilian culture. We learned so much from him, laughed a lot, and enjoyed singing with him between stops. Not to mention dancing to the drums. And the food was fantastic on both tours!! Overall execution of the tours was flawless. The guides were unbelievably good! We appreciate the excellent service. Five stars to Your Tour Brazil ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the highlight of my tours in Salvador! Wagner the guide has a deep social and anthropological knowledge of both Salvador and the places of this tour and the conversation was super interesting. This tour lets you see unforgettable places and more importantly gives you experiences of authenticity that complement and go beyond the other tours!
What an experience! We all enjoyed our tour. We have learned a lot about the Afro history that shapes the city of Salvador. Our tour guide, Vagner, was very knowledgeable and was easy to understand. We were picked up from our hotel on time. I highly recommend it.
João Luis did a great tour with us! He has extensive experience and shared a lot of information about culture and history with us. Besides that he has a very friendly manner with the Soteropolitan (the people of Salvador)! We felt very safe and well accompanied on tour co John! We recommend 100% to make this tour here 😊
Vagner, who was my guide on this tour, has very profound knowledge of Afro-Brazilian history and can give people with little idea about the candomblé a good insight into the not so simple world of gods and goddesses. he also knows very well the anthropological research work that has already been done in this field. his remarks definitely make you want to penetrate deeper into this mystical world.
It is impossible to get reimbursed if you are sick on the same day as was the case for my wife, moreover the visit is of no interest because you spend half the temple by car
We took the tour with the guide João Luz. João told us the story of Salvador with a lot of love, excitement and his knowledge is clear. The tour was extremely pleasant and instructive. I highly recommend it. Thank you, Your Tour Brazil
