This is a long bus day with mainly photo stops rather than the opportunity to walk around. Tripadvisor say entry is included when actually it isn’t. It’s an extra 10,000ARS cash per person. This is false advertising. Free time in Purmamarca was good but the guide failed to mention the walk you can do through the hill of 7 colours. Luckily I’d already seen it on google. That was probably the best part of the day and it wasn’t part of the trip (also 3500ARS cash entry). The salt flats looked cool but it’s a long drive to see them and other than take photos you don’t get to walk around.
Really nice trip and the guide was really helpfull and fun! Alot of driving but totally worth it. Visitng purmamarca and the hill og 7 colours was definitely the highlight for us but the salt flakes were also interesting. Dont forget to bring cash! It costs 20.000 pesos to enter the salinas grandes and we did not see that anywhere in the booking.
A long but wonderful day trip from Salta made all the more special by our guide Abel who managed to keep us informed and entertained in both Spanish and English. It was well organised and the driver was excellent. The stops were the right length to enjoy the various attractions (make sure to take sun cream for Salinas Grandes. It’s easy to get burnt even in that short time).
Fabulous trip. Our guide Romina was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The nature is breathtaking and speaks for itself. The Salinas Grandes was incredible, and the local guides are experts at taking fun perspective photos. Thank you Romona and our driver Fernando for an unforgettable day.
It was an amazing place indeed! Truly enjoyed visiting the Salinas Grandes! The tour guide Augustine and the driver Juan, they were amazing! Augustine, was very helpful, friendly, kind, and they really take care of us. They did a good job and made us very happy to see this place! It was incredible and made our vacation very memorable!!! Thank you both and we appreciate you all very much. God bless!!!
We took a trip to Salinas Grandes and it was lovely. Our guide Flor Mendoza as well as our driver Juan were great and made sure we survived the long ride. It was an amazing experience !
We took the trip to Salinas Grandes with our family and everything was great - from the pick up (to which even though we arrived late they were nice and waited for us). We were a group of 5 and travelled with another around 10 people and our guide Flor Mendoza helped us to get to know each other so we even left the tour with new friends! The driver,Juan, was also very lovely and drove safely.
Perfect day trip to salinas grandes that took about 12 hours and costed 50K pesos. Our guide was perfect her name was Flor Mendoza and our driver Juan was great as well. We enjoyed the trip a lot 10/10
Great experience! The quality / price is unbeatable! Be careful to everyone who is sensitive to heights with this excursion as we are going to more that 4000m above sea level...
Everything was perfect, the trip was very enjoyable. Even though the road trip was long the comments of Flor Mendoza and the comfortable ride of Juan really lifted the spirit and I would rate the trip a 10/10. It took about 12 hours in total.
Amazing! Flor Mendoza best guide ever! And Juan drives us very smoooothly. The views were great 😊
Amazing landscapes and great organisation. Romina, our guide, and the driver were fantastic. A thoroughly enjoyable day with the small caveat that the seating at the back of the bus was not very comfortable.
A fantastic tour with a great guide, Abel. Abel was super engaging, informative and kind. Great English with many tales and insights. Very well organised. The best tour we took during our stay in Salta. Thank you Abel!
We experienced a beautiful day on this tour. We saw beautiful natural surroundings (especially the salt flats) and visited a charming small village where we could also enjoy a great local meal. The guide was experienced, engaging and helpful and the driver handled the highways and twisting mountain roads with ease. Both were tremendously professional. It was a fun, fun day. Thank you.
We had florence M ( guide) and custavo (driver) and both were amazing ! From the moment we started the trip we felt in safe hands and at ease, our guide apologised to us as the English speaking guide was not in attendance today, however her English was amazing and couldn’t fault her or the overall tour, the scenery from the different stops was incredible particularly the flats ! A big shoutout to our driver (custavo) who was incredible and so safe - at times we found the altitude evident but they provided us with the correct guidance and checked in with all passengers throughout ! Would definitely recommend this to anyone young or old well worth doing ! !
Great trip with an excellent guide!!! Flor Mendoza took care of everything; before and during the trip. Pick went smooth, communication and organisation is very accurate. Purmamarca, 7 colours mountain, Salinas Grandes it is all very beautiful. Flor Medoza and Sergio Conejo make it a unforgettable experience! Flor makes sure that everybody up to speed and gives everyone the attention they need; in Spanish and English. Great information about geology, history, andian and argentian culture. The driver Sergio Conejo is excellent as well. I had an amazing time and would recommend it highly.
I booked the Purmamarca and Salinas Grandes Tour with this company based on their excellent Google reviews, and it turned out to be the right decision. We left early in the morning, but it was absolutely worth it. Both Salinas Grandes and Purmamarca were stunning! One small tip: at Salinas Grandes, you'll take plenty of photos, but I found that my favorite ones were actually taken by other people in the group rather than by the dedicated guide or photographers on site In Purmamarca, I decided to explore the town on my own instead of having lunch with the guides and the rest of the group, and I had an amazing time wandering through the streets and enjoying the atmosphere. I would highly recommend booking with this company. A huge thank you to Belen, our guide for the day, and to Yanina, who took the time to sit down with me, explain all the different tours, and offer great advice to help me choose the one that suited me best.
We ended up not doing the excursion. We waited 40 minutes to be collected( were called to say it would be 5-10). The bus was awful, cramped and pretty knackered inside. One passenger on the large side could hardly get in the seat. It broke down two blocks away which is one of those things but we decided after half an hour when the new bus hadn’t arrived to abort. Had an early flight the next day but it was mostly that we couldn’t bare the thought of such a huge journey on a bus with so little room. Guide was lovely and obviously nothing he could do about the situation. Viator wouldn’t refund even though the tour was an hour and a half later starting. Anyway, had a gorgeous day in salta so all ended well!
I wish the booking included that it does not cover all fees. I went in July 2026. You have to pay 8.000 Argentina pesos to get into the Salinas Grandes, 500 to use the bathroom, the restaurant accepts all forms of payment (pesos, credit card, bank transfer). It’s a long drive up windy roads and high altitude. If you get car sick take medicine (we had 1 person vomit and 2 other people felt sick). Bring sunglasses and layers (it is bright and cold/windy in the salt flats. Flor was a good tour guide: knowledgeable, practical, and switched between Spanish and English easily for the group. For people that need pesos go to Western Union. They are closed on Sunday and open around 8-9 Monday through Friday. However, in Argentina, Western Union can run out of money in the afternoon. Go early. I would still recommend this tour even though the booking is misleading because it says it covers all fees.
We had an excellent day and are very grateful to Lucianna and Mathias for the excellent guidance throughout the journey! The trip is very well organised with several stops on the way to take pictures and pop to the bathroom. Both destinations are really worth the drive and the landscapes are stunning along the way.
We had a wonderful tour to Salinas Grandes and a really memorable experience. Our guide, Luciana was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout the entire trip. She answered all our questions and was very knowledgable about the history and environmental issues. A beautiful place to visit and a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!
The trip from Salta to the Salinas and Pumamarca was excellent and full of wonders along the route. The highlights of the trip was the Salted desert and the town of Pumamarca with the beautiful colored mountains .
That's exactly how I would describe this company. We were given 45 minutes to visit the main attractions, 10 of which we didn't spend at all because they didn't have change. That was barely enough time to take photos. Instead, they repeatedly persuade you, over and over again, to go to a strange market where they sell all sorts of rags as souvenirs. It's sad. However, I would like to commend the incredible work of the guide Abel. He's very good, the most professional guide in all of Argentina, which we've seen so far, from Patagonia to the north.
The tour was very nice, Abel was really great tour guide. Going out of his way to comfort the tourists and make sure everyone is fine. He spoke good English. It's a long drive but it's worth it.
10/10 experience made all the best by Cesar our guide. His English was incredible and his personal stories about the region and incredible singing voice were the cherry on top.
Our guide Ceaser was excellent, he gave us lots of information, got involved with everyone in the group and created a great atmosphere! Would definitely recommend
Salinas grandes is an interesting place for geology and being kind of unique. But other than that it's a huge expansion of white. There's an entrance fee equivalent to about USD 6 per person, and that includes a local person providing some explanation and taking fun pictures with your phone. The town of Purmamarca is nice, with lots of crafts and the 7-color hill. Our guide took us to a restaurant called Ruta 52. Service was slow and food was expensive. This left us with not much time to walk the town. If your guide recommends Ruta 52 it may be best to look for a different place. Also be aware that you will spend a lot of time on the van and the twisty roads may make you dizzy
We had a great time at the salt flats and enjoyed the long lunch break at Purmamarca, however, we’d advise travellers to be aware of the long driving time. Unfortunately we were last to be picked up so had the worst seats at the back of the minibus with no window so couldn’t even enjoy the scenery on the way. The experience would be much more comfortable if you would be given a more exact pick up time (we were told anytime between 6:30 and 7:15, and were picked up at 7:20) and if they didn’t completely fill the bus so that everyone was comfortable and had a view.
Great tour, saw some wonderful areas of this beautiful country hosted by an amazing guide Flor and an exceptionally safe driver Mati
We had a really great time. The guide was so funny and kind. He took care of us the whole day. Would recommend to anyone. Remember to bring cash.
Great tour & value!!! Funny guide, great stops. Must try the tamales in town. sooooo yummy. Van is comfortable.
Fun and go adventure with our guide and driver Flor and David
The trip was beautiful with great views and our guide Jorge was very knowledgable. The only negative thing is there is an additional 6000 ARS cash only fee to pay to enter the Salinas Grandes a small cost but it states here all fees are included which is not the case so the description is misleading.
Amazing experience! Its a very long day of driving but worth it to get to the incredible salt flats. The drive through the mountains is very beautiful and it was nice to stop in the town along the way. I would just note that the entry to the salt flat wasn't included so you'll need to pay for that when you get there (bring some extra cash). Also when you stop in the town I would suggest going to the lookout, its a few dollars entry but amazing views! Overall, great tour.
Amazing value trip. Jose was our guide, he was great, friendly, informative, and spoke great English at length. We always knew what was going on and where to be. It is a long tiring day, but if you want to see these great sites there is no other way but to travel and see them. They booked a restaurant for lunch (at own cost), contrary to other reports I read the food was nice, service friendly, and good value
Tour was outstanding, tour guide was great and really made the day enjoyable. Highly recommend taking this one, you will enjoy it!
Luciana and our driver David made the trip more enjoyable because of the passionate attitude and professionalism.
That was one of the best tour we have participated. The sites we have visited were great. Photos taken by the staff were so funny.
Had the best time on this tour. A lot of driving but seeing The Salinas Grandes was worth it! Augustine the tour guide was amazing. So friendly and accommodating and knows his stuff. Would definitely recommend!
It is a long day, but totally worth it to see these natural wonders! We are on a small bus, maybe 14 people only in our group. Great value for the length of the scenic ride. Our guide was really good and spoken in both English and Spanish. The extra 6000 pesos. ($6) was also great value for all the fantastic pictures that the local photographers took at the salt flats.
Excellent excursion and great driver David and great tour guide Agostin
This was a great day trip! Abel, our guide, was very knowledgeable and shared both indigenous and colonial history about the area. He was really helpful at each stop, translating for those of us that didn't speak Spanish to help us get into the salt flats, get pictures taken, etc. He also was very attentive to everyone - making sure anybody feeling off from the altitude had a cold drink and he gave me extra tissues from his own bag! Abel and Mauro, the driver, made it a wonderful experience for us.
It was a pleasure to travel with Abel and Horacio to Salinas Grandes and Purmamarca. Abel is one of the most well informed tour guides I’ve met on my whole trip and communicates excellently in Spanish and English. He covered pre-Incan history through the Spanish colonial invasion, all relating to the area we were exploring. When we weren’t learning about the area, Abel had most of the bus laughing and smiling.
Abel was a great guide, and Horacio also did an excellent job as our driver. Thank you both for making this day tour truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salta.
Abel was an excellent guide. He managed the timing perfectly throughout the whole day and shared many really interesting facts about Salta and the surrounding areas. Horacio, our driver, also did a great job and made the trip smooth and enjoyable. I loved the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salta.
The tour covered everything I wanted to see. The bus was comfortable for the long day, and the pre-trip communication was good. Luciana our guide handled dual-language guiding well and ensured everyone was well-informed of timings, etc. our driver Fernando was careful and I felt safe on the twisty high altitude roads.
Absolutely worthwhile. Our Guide Augustine was enthusiastic and informative. If you can work it into your trip do so. The lunch break was phenomenal. We were there on Christmas Day so the souvenir shops at the salt flats were closed but we literally had the place almost to ourselves.
It was very uncomfortable to discover during the tour that access to Salinas Grandes required an additional 4,000 ARS in cash. This was not communicated in advance. The tour description stated that all entrance fees and charges were included, and there was no mention that cash would be required. This is especially inconvenient in a remote area. We were also taken to a specific entrance controlled by a local group that collects money without issuing any receipts, even though the same views can be enjoyed free of charge just 50 metres away. This situation was neither explained nor justified by the guide. After contacting Viator support, the operator eventually refunded this extra charge to my card, which I appreciate. However, the lack of transparency beforehand and the fact that my direct messages to the company were ignored left a negative impression overall. With better communication and honesty, this could have been a much better experience.
A good journey - comfortable, well organised, very nice and genuine driver Fernando and guide Abel. We went to Salinas grandes and enjoyed our tour.
