The experience was marvelous. On time. Excellent guide ( she knew what she was talking about) and driver. Worth going! Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect. Edu was a great guide
It’s a very long day: 13 hours. Bring extra water and a couple of snacks. Also earplugs if you don’t want to listen to music playing.
Definitely worth it to see the Salinas Grandes and spend an afternoon in Purmamarca. Paula was very organized and friendly and we had a great time and got some really good photos. Highly recommend!
What a day. I can’t describe how good it was but if you ever get chance to go you must. It is a 12 hour trip but plenty of breaks and the bus is very comfortable so it felt like a lot less. Just the most awe inspiring experience. Fabio was an excellent guide, nothing was too much and Charlie the driver was safe and really accommodating. Thank you guys for a once in a lifetime day.
Excellent trip. Must do. The only issue was an issue with the caliper and we ended up being a delayed an hour. But it was better to be safe in the mountains. I do think our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable. Overall. I highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing day enjoying the salt flats and 7 coloured mountains. Our trip was slightly affected by some other travellers on the same trip but our tour guide made an effort to improve things after this. It is a lot of travelling on the day but the views, photos and walks we went on were worth it.
The experience was very nice but extremely long. We went without a bathroom break for 3.5 hours during the tour. Additionally did not have the opportunity to purchase food for about 5 hrs of the trip. Would recommend bringing plenty of snacks and drinks.
Great guide Monza was very informative the bus was comfortable. Would have like to learn more about the salt flats rather then just take pictures
The tour was very well organised with pick up and drop off at our hotel. We made sufficient stops for bathroom breaks and to buy refreshments. The guide, Gala, was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The landscapes where incredible taking in the coloured mountains, switch back roads through the Andes and the salt flats
It’s a great tour that includes multiple locations. I felt there was enough time in each location. The guide was very nice and explained things along the way.
Booked this English-guided Excursion via Timar E.v.t. Travel (“Timar”) and have been in contact with them for a few days before the excursion. They have confirmed the pick up location and time of puck up. On the day of the excursion, I was telephoned by a tour guide from Nordic Travel who informed me that they are responsible for our excursion that day. As I was in front of Timar’s offices at that moment, I went in and inquired about the situation as it was very discomforting to not know who we are traveling with (no notice of being transferred to another agency beforehand nor have been informed that all our personal information, including passport numbers, have been shared with a third-party). To my surprise, no one present in Timar’s office at that moment spoke English… the tour guide from their end, who was just heading the Spanish excursion that day, just brushed me off by saying in Spanish: “you are not on my list, you must have been transferred to another agency beforehand”. Luckily, I speak enough Spanish to have been able to deal with the situation. Even though we have booked an English guided excursion, the majority of participants were locals who spoke no English. Thus, more than 85% of the day was spent speaking English and only the bare minimum was translated into English, which meant that anyone who did not speak Spanish was left listening to the tour guide going on and on for hours without knowing what is going on. The places visited were nice and the excursion was well structured but definitely would have been a terrible experience should none of us have spoken Spanish.
Very good tour and amazing value for money ! Everything was perfectly well timed and we got to see all places as promised . Raul , the guide is very intellectual and knows everything about the sites and the region. Highly recommended
Great way to see the sights around Salta, it is a long time in the bus but very worth it. The tour guide was very informative and interesting.
Amazing sights. The salt flats are magical and purmamarca is beautiful. It is a long trip as the drive from salta to purmamarca takes 3hrs. I wish the van stopped in a few more spots to take quick photos as there are many viewpoints. Purmamarca has a market with alpaca sweaters, toy alpacas, hats, etc... like a mini peru. Salt flats cost 4000 ars cash per person.
The sights are impressive and worthwhile to see. However, the agency should not start pickup half an hour before the booked departure and ensure that the drop off is the same as pickup, not some hundreds meters away. Also, the driver should be more considerate to his passengers, to stop them flying off their seats.
Fernando and Mauro are the best guides you can ask for. Fernando speaks several languages such as Spanish, English, German and Russian. He also knows a lot about the geology, culture and history of the region. He is amazing
OK tour -- the sights were a little lacking. The best thing was of course the salt flats, but it was self-guided (guide left us at the entrance and told us to go in ourselves). Puramarca was similar, and mainly shopping in town, self guided. We didn't stop at the Hill of Seven Colors, the guide just pointed it out to us from the bus.
We did a salt flats tour, spent hours getting there and the driver wouldn't stop for a toilet break until we got to the "designated" shops where they could make money. When we got to the salt flats we had less than an hour! Could have stopped at some viewpoints on the road too. Then we had 2+ hours in the small town! Tour guide was super annoying too.
Brilliant trip. Long day in general but didn’t feel like it as there were plenty of the stops. The salt flats were amazing as were the mountain of seven colours
This tour is a must if you're visiting Salta. My guide, Cesar, was attentive and provided clear explanations in both Spanish and English. He also reminded me to use sun protection at the Grande Salina. I wasn’t aware of the 4,000-peso admission fee, but Cesar helped me out. The ticket includes a service from a photographer who takes great photos at the Salina.
Swift pickup and excellent communication to arrange it, the scenery is spectacular and the guide was very friendly and informative. Would highly recommend this trip, a must if in Salta!
The day was awesome. Our guide, Eduardo, was very informative and entertaining. The road trip was a highlight as well as the Salinas. Great driver and minibus. Edu kept us entertained and informed throughout the trip- many sites to see. Highly recommend.
It was really nice tour Very helpful guide. Very informative. He entertained us with singing local song. Salt flats were one our best excursion for our South America Trip 2025
I enjoyed very much both at Salinas Grandes and at Purmamarca. Nice weather and nice sceneries! The guide was excellent as well.
Cesar our guide and Francisco our driver were phenomenal demonstrating continuous expertise and good humour throughout. My wife and I particularly enjoyed the playlist which really added something special to the occasion. Despite some time constraints due to a local religious festival closing the road we never felt rushed and everything was handled as smoothly as possible. The salt flats and scenery were phenomenal and Humahuaca was a delightful space to spend a few hours for lunch and wondering. An experience that is not to be missed.
It is a lot of driving and be mindful of the altitude, but it is a good experience to see Salinas Grande. The road there is also pretty, and bring some cash.
Tour guide was amazing and they took us to great places. Definitely a long trip but 100% worth it. Be ready for long drives.
The trip to the salt flats is highly recommended. The day was long but the sites were worth it. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English.
Great day all round. Scenery was fantastic and the salt plains were fun and well organised. The people taking the pictures of you were efficient and inventive! Our tour guide, Veronica, was really nice and happy to help. She helped us with currency exchange, as you will need 3,000 to 3,500 pesos per person for the salt plains. Also, have pesos if you want to buy anything at the villages.
The journey was really great but the bus ride was so long! The journey starts at 7 in the morning and you get back around 7-8 in the evening, and most of it is on the road. The guide is an amazingg& interesting person and gave great recommendations for where to eat lunch etc. However, what could be good is that giving some little snacks and water even if not food throughout the bus ride because it is so long! Salinas were great and little village that we ate lunch was so beautiful!
This tour is incredible, taking you to one of the most beautiful places I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. The transport was very comfortable and allowed everyone to get views of the breathtaking scenery. The salt-flats themselves are simply astounding and need to be seen to be believed. Purmamarca is very charming and the hike to the 7 colours hill is an experience I’ll never forget. The best part of the tour however was our guide, Mónica. Her stories and experience were unmatched, as was her kind and warm nature. She was able to adapt to our group with ease and her energy didn’t wane despite the 13 hour tour duration. Sos increíble Mónica y espero que muchas más personas puedan vivir esta experiencia inolvidable con vos! Un saludo y mucho cariño desde Escocia.
I had a wonderful experience with Guide Vanessa and The driver. It was a long day. But Vanessa made everyone comfortable. She was very knowledgeable.I had a wonderful time.
This was a very long bus ride to Salinas Grandes, and I wondered the whole time if it would be worth the time. It was!! What a beautiful and interesting place, unlike anything I have ever seen before. There's a reasonable $3 charge to go farther out onto the salt flats and take lots of touristy, fun pictures. Our guide Julio was great, alternating in Spanish and English with interesting facts along the way about the three climates, wildlife, minerals, etc. and of course the gorgeous hills of 7 colors. On the way back, we stopped in a fantastic little town, Puntamarca, with nice restaurants, a large handcraft market, church, lookout point, and carnival celebrations - lots to do for the 2-hour stop. The only negatives on the trip were likely beyond Julio's control: We lost over 40 minutes parked on the side of the road waiting to pickup passengers who got on a Spanish-only tour, and then we lost another 20+ minutes due to a police stop. In both cases, no information was ever provided to us. So this made for an extra long day, but the sites were fascinating.
Nice bus, friendly guide who spoke English well. Beautiful scenery and great food for our meal stop at the end in Purmamarca. Time for a little shopping or exploring. The sun is intense at Salinas Grande and I actually got a sunburn in a short amount of time, so be advised to wear sunscreen due to the intense reflection and high elevation, and I typically don’t burn easily. It was a very good value for the money! Would love to return, a must see.
Beautiful views and the timing of the tour was perfect (enough time for each stop). The guide was very good too and there was time for a good lunch.
Very long drive but we stopped a few times for bathroom and refreshments. Amazing salt desert with lot of opportunities to take photos. Nice team Veronica with amazing chauffeur Sergio. The road in the Andean Mountains was wonderful with the coloured mountains and different vegetation. The trip is long but I don’ t regret to take it at all. Village Purmamarca is interesting as you have mainly indigenous living here, good market.
it was really great. great staff. good price. very nice trip all day long. highly recommend. very beautiful
The whole day was amazing! Eduardo and Maximiliano were so great, gave us many insights and information about the areas we visited. The views were clearly insane and everything was organised to make our visit easier and comfortable! It is clearly a long day but it was worth it!
Great day , worth every $. Highly recommend this trip, a number of stops on the way with great scenery. Way too many pictures taken that now I have to sort
Great scenery (but you can have it on all tours...) Good english speaking guide even though she spoke more in spanish than english
Caesar, a very knowledgeable guide, made this trip even more memorable with a history of the area. Wonderful colors in the rock formation of Purmamacar - an UNESCO site, and an amazing sight of the salt flats!
Amazing rock formations in Purmamarca . 'Snowscape' salt flats stretching for miles! Caesar, our guide was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the area. Stop for lunch is quite late around 2. There is a stop at a gas station at the beginning to stock up on water and snacks. Best to stock up in town for the trip.
Excellent guide and a great route for a day trip with interesting stops along the way. They take you to a great spot on the salt flats where there guides with props who take fun photos for you. There was the perfect amount of time in Purmamarca to have lunch and do a loop through the park to see the colourful mountains.
Edu is a great and passionate guide. Our tour was nice, and learnt a lot about the culture, the history, the nature and the daily life. The place is quite far, so you are sitting a lot in the bus, but the view from there was also enjoyable, that made the long ride worth.
New clean coach. Very knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend this travel company. Excellent driver too.
Brilliant photo opportunities- great structure to the day. Our tour guide Cesar was a great guide. Fantastic full day out
Our our guide, Caesar, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I felt it was well priced for what it was, with salines grandes being a clear highlight! To properly go on it was an extra $3000 but I’d say it was worth it because included in that you could get your photo taken with toy dinosaurs and things like that which was a laugh
We had a wonderful time. There were 3 of us and it was our best excursion yet. Cesar was an excellent guide. His English was very good and we enjoyed all the info he shared with us. He had a lot of knowledge of the area and it’s history. The Hill of Seven Colours was wonderful but Salinas Grandes was amazing!! What an awesome experience. I was thankful to have my sunglasses - the reflection was very bright - and we loved the pictures we had taken there. Bring a sweater with you, some of the viewpoints at the high altitudes were chilly. The lunch stop at Purmamarca was a lot of fun. Sebastian the bus driver did a great job! We would highly recommend this tour!! Great value for the money!
This is an awesome experience, away from the norm. Such a wild and barren place and although long a great day out.
