Fabio was an amazing tour guide. Very personable, humorous, kind, and knowledgeable on the history and geology of Jujuy. I would recommend this tour to all of my family and friends. It’s a great value and covers all entrance fees. The restaurant was 18.000 pesos in July 2026 (cash or bank transfer - no card). Bring water, motion sickness medication (if needed), and sunglasses.

The itinerary was not followed. The itinerary on the Viator app said we would spend 45 minutes at the Tilcara ruins. At first, the guide seemed unaware of it, and said maybe if we had time we could see it. Then he said it was closed on Mondays, and the tour was on Monday. It is closed on Mondays, but why put that in the itinerary then? I only took this tour to see the ruins, so I wasted a whole day and my money. The guide did not apologize or provide any compensation - he seemed to think it was not their responsibility for not following the itinerary. These guys are cheats- avoid.
The early morning hotel pick-up was significantly delayed, which was frustrating as we were prepared and ready within the communicated 45-minute window. Several advertised tour stops were either cancelled or drastically shortened, some to half the planned duration. Conversely, the first toilet stop was excessively long and as we stopped at a blatant tourist trap.
The view of the landscape and the opportunity to see Tilcara, Purmamarca and Humahuaca. My guide did a great job in English
The guide (the driver) was very nice and spoke english very well. He was open for additional questions and gladly answerd them. We were picked up at the arranged hour. The trip is quite long and includes lots of driving due to large distances. The places we visited were Purmamarca (45 min), Tilcara (30 min) and Humahuaca (2 hours) with some smaller stops for sightseeing in between.
We couldn't believe how wonderful the sites were. I just couldn't stop snapping pictures. And the place that we stopped for lunch was a really great meal. The stop to see where the archaeological site was really great to see. Our tour guide, Carolina was very knowledgeable. And she spent as much time explaining everything in English as well as Spanish. This was a very worthwhile trip.
This day trip covers all of the main sites that the other tours do. We are picked up just after 7am and travel for about 90 minutes before we make a quick stop to get snacks/coffee and visit a well stocked ATM at a gas station, (which was quite a relief as we had trouble getting money in Salta the night before). Back on the bus we continue until we reach our first major stop, Purmamarka. We're given 45 minutes to explore the town, which really isn't much time at all. It's a really pretty town with cobblestone streets and lovely architecture and of course the painted hills. You can wander up Florida street until you get to a small hill that you can climb to get a great view of the painted mountains and the town itself for a minmal fee. We wander around the market in the main square that seems to be there every day for tourists looking for a souvenir. Our next major stop is to Pukara De Tilkara a pre-incan fortification, where we're given 60 minutes to explore the ruins, we run out of time, then quick photo stop at the Tropic of Capricorn, before our lunch stop at Humahuaca. We're given over two hours at Humahuaca where most people opt to go for the buffet lunch and judging by the number of people queued to enter it's the main attraction. We opt to go somewhere else, whilst we're very happy we did there's not a whole lot to do in Humahuaca so we found we had way too much time there, we would have preferred to spend it elsewhere. Most of the group were ready and waiting for the bus to arrive 15 minutes before the expected departure time. We then get back on the bus where we only stop for a quick picture at Maimara and a snack/drink stop. The bus itself was very spacious and comfortable. Prior to our stops our guide would give us details about where were stopping and what we should see/do which suited us. Throughout the day we were given lots of commentary regarding where we travelling and it was consistently done in several languages It's a long day, left at 7am and arrived back in Salta at 7.30pm, could have cut 60 minutes from lunch in Humahuaca and spent the time elsewhere but when I did my research the tours all seemed to cover the same territory.
This tour was a great way to get out of the city and see the amazing surrounding landscape. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. I wish we could have had more time to explore but obviously that's not possible when you have a group tour. Purmamarca was my favorite place, but we only had 40 minutes there. The Incan ruins were also great to visit. Would definitely recommend it but know that you will have a long day in a bus and might not get as much time at each place as you would like. The views out the windows are incredible though!

Lovely day, beautiful tour! Fantastic guide! Thank you, Eva...

Travel highly recommended. Beautiful place. People are nice. The breathtaking landscapes. Everything went exactly as hired.
The tour is beautiful, the only thing I didn’t like was that the stops at the hill of the 14 colors and the painter’s palette were not exactly from points to take photos, I personally took a couple but from a long way. In addition, it is a tour focused on spending, very touristic to my taste considering and knowing the history of these places, there are many facts and details that were not commented. For example, there was no visibility whatsoever to the local peoples, no community was ever named and they were only homogenized as “original peoples”, while if there were mentions of colonizing Spaniards, I would say that it is more for a preference in commenting on biased historical data than for something else. Don’t take people to buy crafts without explaining where they come from, who produces them, why the choice of materials, etc. It's a disrespect.
The walk was very interesting. The guide passed all the information about the place. They were also punctual at the search points, but it seems that two people, who hired the tour, were late, and left the guide upset. I missed having a microphone to hear better. The driver passed through the road holes without slowing down. So, there were several unexpected pulses.
Most recommended! The excellent company. They looked for us and left us where we were stopping. The trip has divine landscapes. Hopefully they will be lucky enough to have Alfredo as a driver or guide because he is the best Salteño we met.
Spectacular view, excellent weather, Roberto super nice, helpful and prepared. Recommended for everyone, for all ages.
Nice excursion, very good driver-guide, the trip was a little tiring, little space in the transport for such a long trip
Passeio super completo.
Very good tour, recommended. I loved everything, we went with my partner and had fun, you have to carry a lot of water.
The experience in humahuaca and the 14-color hill was amazing. The group of travelers geniuses as well as Benicio our guide. And also Javito our guide (to the cap) in the city. Landscapes in the area can't be believed. Take the tour without hesitation... We did it with TIAMAR and really nothing to complain about..
Super Tag in kleiner Gruppe.
A crazy day!! Lots of places to see, photos to get out, up and down the traffic almost constantly. And definitely worth it!! Moira told us detail by detail, even from the city of Salta. Landscapes, colors, people... All excellent! We traveled with a chair for our one-year-old baby. Detail no less that left us very quiet, comfortable and safe. Without a doubt, we would choose TIAMAR again to tour the Argentine north. THANK YOU!
I had a very nice day. Moira, our guide, is passionate about history and its province. Together with Oscar, a very good driver, they made an unforgettable day trip. I must return to Salta with more time to be able to make the other excursions they offer.
We went on a full day tour to the Humahuaca Gorge to Pumamarca from SALTA city, and really beautiful everything we saw
Hi, could someone tell me if you're taking to the big salt pans? I go to Easter with friends and this tour interests me but does not clarify the part of the salt flats
Very complete trip, with great views. Purmamarca, Tilcara and Humahuaca are jewels in the northwestern desert of Argentina. Travel something exhausting (go out at 7 a.m. and return at 20 p.m.), but it's worth the effort! Recommended.
The journey to reach destination is beautiful. It is advised that the car is in good condition as there is dirt road and river
Very good everything, the bus, the guides and the excursions. Excellent Service and provided us information about jump and cleared all our doubts.. Highly recommended. All the landscapes you travel are wonderful and impossible to describe in words
Without a doubt, the best walk to do in Argentina to see colors, mountains, sky and pure nature.
