It was amazing, more than we expected. The scenery was out of this world. Be aware that not all passengers on the coach will be doing the whole tour so there may be hanging around.

It was spectacular!!! What an amazing colors of the mountains, I have never seen anything like that. Our tour guide Flor Mendoza and the driver Conejo, they were both amazing! Conejo keeping us safe and Flor, making sure everyone is okay and well attended to all our needs, she is very kind and helpful. We had a fantastic time and memorable to remember Salta, is truly beautiful, it fits with the name!!! Muy Linda!!! Thank you Lord for an amazing creation that we get to enjoy!!!❤️❤️❤️
Fabio was our guide, and he did a great job showing us around and explaining what we were looking at, both in Spanish and English. He even gave us a small pottery item as a gift. All in all, a great experience.
If you only go on one tour out of Salta, this is the one I would recommend. It’s well-organized, packed full of beautiful stops, and Santiago is an amazing guide who’s passionate about what he does (his driver, Juan, is also super cool!). My favorite tour of the trip! Also, for English speakers, Santiago’s English is very good, so you won’t have to worry about missing out on anything.
A comprehensive tour of several lovely towns throughout the Quebrada de Humahuaca with our informative bilingual tour guide, Jesi. We enjoyed seeing the artisanal crafts and the small museums in Purmamarca and Tilcara. The trip to Hornocal is something we will never forget - nature’s bargello! - and we managed to catch a small herd of vicuñas on the way down. Amazing.
We had an amazing day. Our guide Fabio was amazing. He made the entire trip so entertaining and it felt more like a trip with family and friends than with a travel agent. He shared meaningful information. Would definitely recommend this trip. Obviously, the hills and everything else was breathtaking.
Hornucal is even better than the pics. Fabio is one of the best tour guides I’ve had. He took time to learn everyone’s name, he was engaging, and his English is really good.
Ximena -an excellent guide, attention to detail, keeping us well informed in English. The scenery- magnificent and worth the many hrs and non luxury van ride
A must see. Our guide Fabio made the day unforgettable. He was very entertaining and didn't rush any stops. Lunch stop was excellent. Hornocal is a must see. Scenery is spectacular.
A great day with an experienced guide, Fabio. It made for a very fun day. Super interesting stops. The 14 Colors….wow!
It was an excellent excursion because we had a very good tour guide, his name is Fabio. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject which made the tour more meaning when I had a good guide.
I did the tour because of the landscape in Serranias del Hornocal. In the description, it was not clear that the 2 hours we had included the transportation to and from it. Therefore, we had only 30 minutes at the carpark left, and there was not enough time to do the little hike to the viewpoint. Despite that the entrance was included in the package, we had to pay the entrance fee for the last part ourselves, after we drove about 40 minutes there (from Humahuaca). This is especially bad because they only accept cash, and there was no way to withdraw cash there. Luckily, we had enough money with us. Otherwise, we would not even get to the carpark (first vewpoint). Our guide was not remotely interested in what our package included. So she did not get in touch with her company (La Quebrada Tourismo). All in all, it was a whole day trip, so we could see the Hornocal only for 30 minutes. Conclusion: The landscape is amazing, but I would book this tour with a different organization and not with "La Quebrada Tourismo".
I did all four of the day trips from Salta with La Quebrada, and this was my personal favorite. That was in no small part due to tour guide Fabio, who so clearly loves his job and is proud to show visitors his home. (He also has a few surprises for his guests if you're lucky.) The trip itself was also great; I loved popping into the little towns and the Hill of 14 Colors was one of my highlights from a whole month in South America.
5 out of 5. My tour guide Cesar was the best guide I've had in the whole of south America. He was so helpful and spoke great English Fantastic trip!!
I have to say about Fabio that he was the best tour guide that I met. He show us more things than he needed and took us to special places that another agencies not will show us. He took us to the most beautiful views and places to do pictures. He know everything about the area and he was kind and friendly more than you expected. He speaks English very well and translate us every time we needed. I recommend him from all over my heart. Mucho gracias Fabio!
It was a great day out from Salta. I wanted to see the hill of the 14 colours. Our guide Ximena was very attentive, and told us about all we saw on the way. The driver Mario was good too.
Ximena and Hernán made a great team for our trip to Hornocal and the 14 coloured mountain. We had a number of interesting stops along the way with updates on what to look for, all in good English. We thought the extra drive to Humahuaca was well worth it.
The tour was organized well without any hiccups. HOWEVER, there were only 2 English speaking persons on the tour including me and our guide Arturo spoke in English about 20% of the time. We got only the absolute barebones in English. He was however quite nice and helpful at stop locations. Hence my 3/5
Fabio was an excellent driver and guide. Knowledgeable, passionate about what he does, with a sense of humour and great communication skills, we spent a pleasant day in his company.
What a fabulous trip through the most dynamic geographic region I have ever seen and with fantastic commentary from our guide. Then wine and lovely lunch in cafeyete, perfection
Super day out in the high parts of the Andes in Jujay province. Guide and driver both excellent and informative. A long day but well worth it
Fabio is one of the best driver and tour guide, skillful, knowledgeable, communicative, engaging, and funny. He tried his best to introduce sights and chat with me, even sharing delicious empanadas and offering beautiful necklace gift, though I was the only one that needed his effort to speak English.
The agency does not speak English, and the information they provide is scant and misleading. It turns out that they sold us the trip without going up the mountain. We paid an additional $30 per person and got a driver in an old and very uncomfortable car. He drove wildly and refused to stop for photo stops along the way. When we reached the summit, it was raining and there was no visibility. We saw nothing and drove back down in a crazy manner with the nervous driver. We definitely do not recommend this agency.
This trip was amazing. Such beautiful scenery and landscapes, in such an amazing part of Argentina. The guide, Santiago, was well informed and always able to answer any questions we had. He even kept our spirits up when there were times of rain. The driver, Arial, was happy and a very capable driver, we always felt safe, even going through hair pin turns and landslides from the previous nights rain. I would definitely recommend this trip.
If you're greeted in the morning by a smiling Milagros guide and the driver is nicknamed 'Animal', then you know it's going to be a perfect day. Well, it really was. The guide gave us a lot of new information with her kindness, good will and warmth. The program was interesting and we would definitely take part in such trips again. Thank you for a perfect day.
We had a driver without an assistant. He spoke excellent English; he was engaging and knowledgeable. Highlight was “amphitheatre”.
The bus was broken during the trip so we have to wait for more than 1.5 hours on the bus for the tour company to send another bus. The second bus was and old one with poor air conditioning. Then when we returned, the second bus was broken and the driver has to stop and fix it. The view of the hill of 14 colors is great, but the journey takes too long.
The car (definitely not a 4x4) ride out to Hornocal from Humahauaca and back was brutal. Seven adults crammed into a tiny “clown car”.
The tour was very good. My guide did not speak much English so I only received little bits and pieces of commentary. Fortunately, there was an English-speaking person on the bus with me who would translate certain things which was helpful. We visited several very pretty little towns and it was nice to have some time to walk around the scenery was beautiful. What I didn’t realize is the part going to the 14 colored mountains was a separate excursion only five of us from the tour we’re going on that excursion. The others stayed in town and had lunch and walked around. Five of us crammed into a small car and drove for about an hour on a dirt road to get to Hornicol. Seeing the mountain up close made it a very worthwhile trip. It was truly spectacular. You might get a little hot and dusty, but I think it was worth it.
Jaw dropping vista when the 4WD makes it to the view point at 4350m. The almost geometric colours in the hills are very beautiful! Guide gave great tour, allowing plenty of time for photos and questions. Both drivers (mini bus and 4WD) were very safe and friendly!
We really enjoyed our tour of Hornocal & Humahuaca. Martin was a fantastic guide, who always made sure to cater to us English speakers and give us the full explanations of everything, so we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. He also explained the many benefits of coca leaves for dealing with the altitude, and helped us buy some at one of the stops as we do go up in elevation on this tour. The guides were very thoughtful about making sure we all felt okay with altitude before moving on. Each stop on the tour had an incredible view, whether it was a natural wonder or a beautiful town, and there was enough time at each to appreciate it. There was still a lot of driving, sometimes an hour or two at a time, so be prepared with water, snacks and soap/wipes (the regional toilets don't always have any paper or soap).
We had a 2-hour delay caused by a driver accident and he had to be replaced. With that, it compromised all the outings. The driver did his best! Inclusive acting with a guide. The low-quality minibus (without suspension) The second, the bus that took us to Hornocal (hill of the 14 colors) is out of the question, very dusty and in no condition to provide the service. The drivers are excellent professionals.
The tour guide spoke poor English and could not answer questions. Zero communication beforehand. Received no messages about the pickup, was picked up 1 hour late. Had provided my phone number multiple times. The guide ultimately did not have it. We were transferred to a small car for the Hornacal. As four adults, one had to squeeze behind the seat bench. Unbelievable! We only had 20 minutes of time on site. Because of that, we couldn't even go to the monolith. Instead, we were supposed to eat at a restaurant that was not only bad, but also forgot to bring my food. Because of the long wait there, we no longer had time to see the place. Very unpleasant. I would definitely advise against it!
The view of Ornocal was amazing, the colorful mountains in 14 colors and the cool breeze blowing through them were a very pleasant time. But it never stopped at Uquia and Humahuaca. Also, in Tilcara, the distance from Pu is so far that it is impossible to see it during the stop. Besides, the tour was written as 11-12 hours, but actually took about 14 hours. The tour itself was satisfying, but there were a lot of differences from the information beforehand, so we chose three stars.
I consider it inappropriate for the guide to ask for a tip for their service
The drivers of both the van and the "4x4" were reckless at times! Another thing that I didn't like, personally, is that the same person who drives is the guide. Those would be 2 things that you could check, in my opinion. The landscapes, the place is veryyyy pretty!
Excellent. I was enchanted, I missed places in Salta to explore, but I plan to return.
Good afternoon We could not carry out the excursion on the scheduled day because our arrival flight to Salta City was delayed. We informed the tour operator, and they told us that we could reschedule. We did, and they never came for us; they left us waiting at the hotel. We made the claim, and they told us that they had started the process for a refund and that Visto owes us the refund, but we have not received anything. For all the above reasons, we request a refund. Beautiful region, it is worth renting a car and spending 6/7 knowing the whole region
The excursion from Salta is long but not to be missed. For us the best away. Hornocal is a beauty
The Andes are a very impressive experience, especially the many interesting Rock formations
Excellent experience. The tour is fantastic and the orientations and accompaniment received were brilliant. Super recommended.
This day was rich in novelties , first 4350 m, passage of the tropic of capricorn, mountain with 14 colors ... all accompanied by Fabio , a guide who goes out of the ordinary and unfolds his days and his profession with passion.
First of all, you should know that all excursions from Salta include a lot of bus travel time, and little stopover time in small villages (I preferred not to have lunch to enjoy more Huamaca) . Knowing this, the landscapes of this excursion are magnificent, culminating in the 14-colored hill in Hornocal at +4000 m altitude. The guide was great and even friendly on the return. If you only have to take one excursion, I think this is the one to choose.
A wonderful excursion in magical settings with a great Fabio guide!
Like all the excursions I did with Parador Norte, this was also excellent and very well guided by Nahir , it is rating that in this Enterprise look for guides of very good preparation.
It was good. The guide was a pretty dry Cover, who didn't mind interacting. I spoke what I had to speak in Spanish, we asked you to speak more slowly. Did you just say "brasilheños"? And it continued at the same pace. The very old micro.onibus, with ripped banks. Excellent driver. It's a nice walk, but very tired.
A must-see from the Argentine North! It can be reached by own vehicle or by paying for 4x4 excursions departing from the Humahuaca terminal ($20,000 per person, in August 2025). I recommend going on the excursions as the road is ripe! It is very cold and windy, you have to go with jacket😅
Very good all Service. Super punctual and organized, very well transportation and very well guide. Excellent And spectacular the gulch
Excellent experience! The guide, Hernan, a genius!!! Very funny, attentive and guided us very well! The incredible landscapes... The truck and the service were very good.
