The scenery there and back was amazing and the photo stops were perfect. The visit to the winery was disappointing as it was completely In Spanish (I am English) and the wine tasting afterwards was poor. The amount given was minuscule and so quick that we were not certain which was which. We went into the town afterwards and choose our own restaurant to eat at, that was excellent. On the whole a good trip but we were disappointed with winery visit.

Itinerary
Visit the winegrowing center of the province, crossing Las Conchas gorge. Route: National Road 68 (Wine Route); Lerma Valley (Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, Coronel Moldes, La Viña (technical stop)
The erosion in the region has formed a succession of natural wonders such as The Devil's Throat, a deep and closed canyon. The Anfitheatre (with perfect natural acoustics). The Toad, The Friar, The Obelisk, The Castles. Little by little, the aridity of the landscape is replaced by large areas of vineyards to reach one of the most outstanding regions within the Calchaquíes Valleys: Cafayate, a town of one-story houses between colonial and baroque from the late 19th century. Quebrada de las Conchas: More than 10 stops in multicolored formations caused by wind and water erosion such as La Garganta del Diablo, El Amphitheater, La Yesera, Las Ventanas, Los Castillos, etc.
In Cafayate you will have the chance to visit a winery and taste the best wines in the area. Although the region always refers to Torrontés, the place has a large number of hectares dedicated to red grapes such as Malbec, Tannat or Cabernet Sauvignon.
Visit Cafayate city and a winery. We'll have 2 free hours in the city to have lunch and explore. Town of one-story houses between colonial and baroque architecture from the late 19th century. (Lunch and drinks are NOT included in the price)
We returned to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas through Route 68, making the stops we missed on the outward journey and traveling through this beautiful, unique landscape of Argentina.
Before arriving in the city of Salta we make a technical stop in La Viña or Talapampa to buy a snack or go to the bathroom.

All good...great scenery...but a lot of driving.....7+ hours in the bus of 12 hour day.
The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgable and had perfect English. He took us to some truly breathtaking sports! HOWEVER if you cannot speak Spanish I would advise not booking this trip - the vineyard you’re taken to does not offer English tours, so whilst the guide for the day offered to explain the wine making process generally the wine tasting and vineyard tour portion (which was a significant part of the tour advertised) is sort of not accessible to non-Spanish speakers.
During my stay in Salta, I took a couple tours with Santiago and his driver Juan—and they’re the best of the best. The drive out to Cafayete and the landscapes you stop to see around the way are beautiful. Highly recommend!
Great tour with excellent guide Walter!
The tour is 100% worth it. You see so much in one day, our guide Lourdes was very friendly, passionate and she gave us a lot of information about all the places we were visiting, and really friendly too! :)
Interesting ride through the valley seeing rock formations and ending in the wine tasting area at Cafayate. Our guide and driver were both great. It’s a long drive and I recommend some motion sickness medication if you are sensitive to winding roads
It was an incredible experience, a perfect day to be in touch with nature. The Amphitheater and the Devil's throat are impressive. The city of Cafayate is charming.
The whole trip was amazing. The tour did both english and spanish and told us everything about lots of different topics. The views were amazing and we stopped at different place. The views are really worth it.
Well worth it to see this incredible scenery. The photos don’t even begin not begin to show the sheer scale and magnitude of the landscape. You will not be disappointed!
The trip is long, but it is beautiful! The wine tasting was not very good and all in Spanish. Too many stops along the way and too much time in Cafayete, where nothing happens.
My friend and I did a tour to Cafayate in April 2025. This was an excellent day tour with Fabio! Not only Fabio was kind and fun since the very start of the tour and show us so much, he gave us great advice and recommendations for the rest of our trip in Salta and Jujuy. I truly recommend him for whenever u travel to salta.
This was an amazing trip. The scenery was stunning, the different landscapes were amazing and have to be seen to be believed. The stop off were all lovely and worthwhile. Raul, the guide, was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. He happily asked our questions and gave us lots of recommendations for other things to do with our time. Alberto was a great driver and we felt save in his hands on some very winding roads. I would definitely recommend this trip and agency.
We enjoyed our tour with Raul (guide) and Alejandro (driver). Schedule was a little delayed due to road conditions as there were many areas with mud/water across road from rains the previous days. Just made it more interesting and helped us understand the area. Raul was very knowledgeable about the area and we stopped to see all the highlights coming and going (amfiteatro, devils throat, 3 crosses, other viewpoints). Stop at winery was mediocre - both the wines and the area. Don’t choose if you are going for the wineries. Do go if you want to see the area.
Our experience with La Quebrada Turismo was fantastic from beginning to end. We had some difficulty getting to the meet up point in the morning of the tour, and thought that we would not be able to make the tour. However, Ximena, our tour guide, took extra care to ensure that we had a taxi and was willing to accommodate for us being late by picking us up at an alternative location along the route. The views at all the locations that we stopped at were beautiful and we got a really comprehensive visit of Salta. Ximena was extremely accommodating to all English and Spanish language levels as well, and made the tour both fun and educational. We are very happy that we took this tour with La Quebrada -- from the natural amphitheater to the several panoramic viewpoints to the winery to the city of Cafayate, every stop was well chosen and beautiful. La Quebrada put a lot of care into ensuring that we had a good experience -- highly recommend!! :)
This tour was advertised and confirmed as being in English. In fact, the entire bus spoke Spanish except me and my husband. So the tour guide did everything in Spanish and then just side barred with us in English. The guide, Jasmine, was lovely and very accommodating. but it was not at all what we expected. And it was hot, hot, hot! The air conditioning on the bus was a joke. I thought we were going to pass out a couple times. The temperature INSIDE the bus was over 80 degrees Farenheit. We thought this tour was going to focus a bit more on the wine country. Instead, we kept stopping to see rock formations and only spent about 20 minutes at a winery with a short wine tasting. Cafayete is a lovely little town but again, it was extremely hot. The bus ride back to Salt is over 3 hours and arduous with the heat. If you do this, dress very light and bring lots of water.
There are some physical travel agencies close the main square offering the same itinerary as this travel online site. The difference is (the physical ask for cash and on here you can pay with credit card and for me was the easiest way) I was afraid in not getting a nice service, however the experience was great. I can suggest they should contact the clients as soon as possible and providing the information needed because is a full day tour and plan ahead. In my case I had to contact the agency listed and then they send me the info after some hours of waiting. I am giving them five stars because the sprinter van was in a very nice conditions and well conserved, then Santiago the tour guy did his best speaking in English, he is very friendly and kind and the driver as well, they know very well the city and surrounding areas and they dropped you off at you hotel at the end of the tour. I enjoyed the city of Cafayate, the food, the wines, the roads, the landscapes and colors.
Four people sat in very narrow and uncomfortable seats I couldn't even stretch my shoulders I'm a young, sturdy man, but it was very hard times
Beautiful tour. The gorge on the way to cafayate is amazingly beautiful. The wine tasting was also very nice. And i recommend to try the wine ice cream in cafayaye. Ximena the guide was very cute, shared with us many things about the area, which had an added value to the experience.
We had a brilliant time on this tour. It was incredible value for money. It is a huge day with lots of stops, but having a full 2 hours at Cafayate meant there was time to hire bikes and explore beyond the city. Our tour guide, Ximena, and driver, Mario, were both amazing. Ximena spoke excellent English and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. One of the best tour guides we've had. She really made the tour!
Perfect day out and so worth the money. Guide and driver were great. They organised English speaking guide for wine tasting which was nice of them and showed they go the extra for you. Wine tasting didn’t last too long which was ok for us. We wanted the views and scenery and we certainly weren’t disappointed.
Stunning scenery, beautiful lunch, Cafayate amazing Slightly ruined by a maniac driver who seemed to think he had a reputation as “the best” to live to. High speeds, wrong side of the road most of the time, overtaking at top speed through small towns, just an idiot really. The potential to crash is huge, and if it happens with a full van of tourists he’ll be a headline for sure. It ruined a fantastic trip. There was really no need for it.
Honestly, the tour guide we had was pretty mid. I don’t know if there was a language barrier but he seemed pretty sassy and unfriendly. When I told him I was from the United States. We were also taken to places restaurants where he seemed to get a percentage of sales. Overall I wish this day didn’t happen.
This was a wonderful day trip in a smaller bus/sprinter van which was easy to pop in and out of many different outlooks. There were so many beautiful places we stopped. The driver and host were great. There was a little language barrier for English but they did well. I would recommend this for a great way to see South of Salta.
Just an incredible experience. The tour of Salta and Cafayate was the highlight of my trip. Gorgeous views, great food, fantastic tour guide and driver! Simply the best. You don't want to miss this one!
The tour was good and our guide Soledad did a great job explaining both in English and Spanish. The visit to Bodega in Cafayate was informative and also, presented in both languages.
This was advertised as an English tour. There wasn't much English during the tour, and the one winery we visited offered no English during our time there. I didn't learn anything during the tour. The driver was racing to get around and had no concern for the passengers in the back. The guide blasted music during the return trip that woke people up from their naps. We unknowingly had two tours with the same company, and they switched the tours without telling us. This was a confusing and awful experience for us. I cannot recommend this tour or company.
Great route to discover but poorly organised and staffed. Bus was 1h late, guide was very unmotivated and microphone system terrible so we could not hear what he was saying when speaking. 2 places we were supposed to visit were closed. Lucky the route was worth the visit
That the most important thing is to enjoy the trip, the color and the shapes of the mountains are spectacular
We traveled with Caro and Mariachi. The two, the best. Very good vibes despite the weather and van adversities haha. Caro explained very well and made the day very pleasant. We recommend it!
Very good, the guide Victor. He makes the trip very enjoyable by telling you everything about the tour. Facts, history, populations, customs, highly recommended.
The trip itself was good, but it is clear that the stops and places where they take you to eat/consume are agreed upon with the guides and they are not necessarily the most economical. In my opinion, once the guide has arrived at the destination, they should leave the choice of where to go for lunch up to the tourist.
Excellent experience, both the guide and the driver were very good. Beautiful place!
It is an expendable excursion since it is many hours and although the beautiful landscape I think you lose a lot of time and there are better things to see. The guide saint and the driver victor a 10.
We traveled with Rafael the guide, an excellent experience, with a lot of good vibes and laughter. We explained everything and was very friendly, super recommended
Excellent service! We did City Tour and visit Cafayate. I recommend it!
For the price paid, the tour was worth it. However, we did not make any stops on the way back, despite being on the schedule, probably because it was December 31st and it was a priority to return within a certain time (also for some other tour participants.....).
In principle they took us as the day before in a van and with the same guide. The experience was unsatisfactory, a large and rather ramshackle bus. The guide took the group to the run runs, or as we say in my land: to touch of dick, with what little enjoyed the places. When we reached the last point of the tour he left us in a restaurant and told us that at a certain time he was waiting for us in a church, without explaining how to get there and disappeared. Visit to the interesting winery
The excursion to Cafayate was excellent. Our Ximena guide is a genius: super clear, friendly and entertaining, with lots of interesting facts. Marcelo, the driver drives with complete safety and good vibe. A very well organized excursion with incredible scenery. Most recommended!!
Excellent Service! We did City Tour and visit Cafayate. Very good guides, punctuality, smooth communication with the Enterprise. I recommend it!
Amazing experience, we went with Violeta as a guide and I highly recommend. Very good wine tasting, Tierra Colorada winery.
Spectacular trip. We rented a compact car engine 1.0. In a week we did a car tour Salta SanAntonio de los Cobres (it's not worth it if you don't have enough time) from there by ripio to the Salinas Grandes 2.5 hours the car of the barbaro bench and the road was good to do if it's not summer that there is rainy season. Then Pumamarca (the most beautiful village in the north next to Cachi) Tilcara Humahuaca very nice road the quiet city. Back to Salta and route to Cafayate by asphalt passing through the Quebrada de las Conchas IMPERDIBLE. Cafayate has many wineries to visit and is eaten very well, a lot of gastronomy the wine route nothing to envy Mendoza. From Cafayate in the day we made Tafi del Valle which I did not like and the ruins of Quilmes very interesting. Down the Arrow Bank to Cachi in 3 hours of spectacular road and in good condition
We had a beautiful experience with the trip and with the company, from the beginning Ezekiel who sold us the tur explained everything we were going to see and it was fulfilled to the letter. They were attentive, stopped often, suggesting places and shots for photos, the driver Mauro Gutierrez super responsible in his duty, and the friendly Guide Abel for others 🤣🤣☺️ certainly incredible landscapes.
Great tour, Spanish and English bilingual guide, friendly and with good knowledge of the attractions. Punctual and competent driver. Beautiful and stunning landscapes for their broken shells. Presentation at the vineyard presented quickly but quite enlightening. The restaurant for lunch indicated by the guides, was not satisfying. "El criollo". There are in Calayate, on the square, better restaurants with similar prices.
Beautiful tour of the Salteño Valleys. . Excellent attention and professionalism of guide Ximena (with X!) and driver Federico. A luxury, to recommend.
Excelente TODO!! Samuel un guía de lujo y Diego el mejor conductor!!! Sin duda volveremos!!! 100% recomendables
We traveled with Turismo Cafayate, the experience was very nice. Raul the guide and Alberto the driver geniuses! Super friendly and attentive to everything. I recommend it 100%
Beautiful scenery, many stops at tourist places, such as viewpoints, Devil's Throat, The Amphitheater, and visit us 2 wineries. A genius Fabio, our driver and guide, who pleased us the trip!
It was a wonderful experience, we did a very nice tour, we stopped many times to take pictures, we tasted wine! The exceptional truth, such a genius... made us laugh a lot and knew a lot
Fabio a very friendly genius and with a lot of info to give you during the tour, I am x take another excursion with them as I found everything very perfect and the amazing places, thank you
