Good tour to see some of the scenery of the Salta region with informative commentary from our friendly guide. Photo stop in the Cardones park was very short while the time in Cachi was perhaps longer than needed - it's a small town with just a few shops to pop into. The restaurant we were dropped at in Cachi didn't seem well rated; have a look around and go where you want to. There is a winery on the edge of town which I would have visited if I'd realised earlier instead of killing time in the town.

Itinerary
We leave Salta through the Lerma Valley towards the south of the province until we reach the town of El Carril to turn west and begin heading towards the Quebrada del Escoipe and the first dream landscapes. We have technical stops along the way so passengers can go to the bathroom or buy a snack.
Imposing Cuesta del Obispo and Valle Encantado, surrounded by mountains. After Piedra del Molino (3,400 m.s.n.m.) you cross Los Cardones National Park.
Leaving the fertile Valley of Lerma behind, you ascend the Quebrada de Escoipe and then continue along the imposing Cuesta del Obispo and Valle Encantado, surrounded by mountains. After Piedra del Molino (3,400 m.s.n.m.) you cross Los Cardones National Park.
Visit grocers and pass through the town where peppers are dried on the side of the road.
We arrive at noon at the colonial town of Cachi and we will have 2 hours free to have lunch and tour this unique town in northern Argentina. Its cobbled streets with its adobe and cobblestone houses allow you to witness a place left in time, which maintains its primordial essence. In these 2 free hours, you can tour these 10 blocks by 10 blocks that the town offers and try its gastronomic variety native to the region. Then we meet again with the guide to begin the return to Salta.
Before arriving in the city of Salta we make a technical stop in Chicoana or El Carril to buy a snack or go to the bathroom.

The scenery was unbelievable and the guide was outstanding. Fernando made the day with his knowledge of the area and its history and spoke fluent English. Highly recommend
Had the good fortune of getting Vanessa as a tour guide and her driver (whose name I forgot, sorry! But he was wonderful!) She was really knowledgeable and personable, it elevated the day. And of course, the scenery was delightful; we also stopped at a roadside stand for a quick bit in case you wanted to buy local spices.
The national park is stunning, highly recommend going to see it and visit the little town of Cachi. The guide was really lovely and happy for me to ask lots of questions. He also told us about local folk music and other information about the area as well as the main sights we were going to see. The pick up does take quite a long time (you have a 45 minute window but you get a 5 minute warning). Very good value tour and would recommend. But bring cash, all the stops on route to Cachi are cash only if you want to buy anything
Great day-amazing scenery and guide(Martin) full of interesting fun facts. All cudos to the driver also for such skilled driving on incredible roads.
This was an excellent tour. Our guide Franco and driver Charly were very knowledgeable, professional, and entertaining. There were enough stops on the route to have a short break and take some photos of the amazing sceneries. Highly recommended.
This tour was filled with gorgeous scenery (valleys/gorges) and nice stops for photos or short walks. Our guide (Fabio) was terrific! He spoke alternating in Spanish and English, providing interesting facts about the geography, wildlife, culture, and more. The town of Cachi was pretty with a lovely plaza/square, and we had a great lunch there, but honestly, there was not enough to see/do for a 2-hour stop.
Excellent tour. Super, small group. Excellent driver. Wonderful tour guide who was full of interesting information about the landscape nature and people living in the area.
It was a very nice tour. The guide was kind enough to translate to english if needed. We stopped at many places to try local food, to have photo moments, ... i would really recomment this company and this tour. Los cardones, cuesta del obispo and cachi were really worth visiting! In the end our guide also gave recommendation for local restaurants and activities in Salta itself.
Both Monica and driver were excellent! Very great experience, well explained and very accommodating to our group. Monica did an excellent job interpreting from Spanish to English. Would highly recommend her as a guide, and our driver as very safe.
Dear reader, please read this carefully. If you're a foreigner, I advise against booking this, as it feels more like a shopping tour. Although the description mentions a national park, the maximum stop time there is only 5 minutes, while 20–30 minutes are allocated for shopping for cheese and ham. The time in Cachi is limited to just 1.5 hours, which is barely enough to grab some food, leaving you unable to explore much of the area. Additionally, there were several minor but frustrating issues: the driver’s seatbelt alarm kept beeping due to a problem, and the microphone he was using was completely broken, yet he continued speaking, making it hard to hear anything. I ended up using headphones for most of the trip.
I couldn't recommend this company. I seem to recall seeing nice reviews for this tour when booking, but I was shocked when we had the tour. The roads are not so smooth in the area, and the driver treated it like a roller coaster. We got bounced and slung around in the bus throughout the day, and it isn't pleasant to feel motion sick from the ride. The microphone in the bus was poor, and the guide's English had such a strong accent that I didn't have many takeaways from this tour. I wasn't alone in my experience. Others we met on the tour had the same experiences and shared with us. They were not interested in any other tours with this company. The company is also linked to other Viator tours, and we unknowingly had two tours with the company. They switched our tours without telling us it was happening, and it messed up our dinner reservations. Overall, this was a very poor experience for us.
The nature is amazing, the tour company not so much. The bus broke down half way and we have waited 2 hours to get another van sent from the company. The guide spoke zero English and I feel like I missed out on important information. We were supposed to spend 2 hours in Cachi but ended up spending 40 minutes of free time which made it impossible to explore the town properly.
The experience with this travel organization was not good for us in terms of communication. Not responding adequately to messages and what was the worst: We received a message in the evening before departure at 6:30 PM to postpone the day trip because there was only a Spanish-speaking guide. Moving was not an option for us because we had to leave the day after this excursion. So we were forced to do it with a Spanish guide and we couldn't understand a word all day. It's a bad thing that you only get a message the evening before the day trip. So we could not look for another organization with an English-speaking guide either. It was a downer for us because we are very interested in the guide's information. The Spanish-speaking guide told a lot, which we totally didn't understand.
The places are great, but the experience we had regarding the pickup and return is that they left us on the highway, even though there was a road parallel to the hotel, keep in mind that I have two children. On the other hand, the driver was going at a fast speed so you couldn't appreciate the tour with the scenery. Being on vacation I think you want to be more unstructured with the schedules, these were strict and on top of that we returned an hour and a half earlier than stipulated. The state of being on vacation is to relax and not to have more stress. Both issues hindered the full enjoyment of the excursion.
A very nice experience, with many stops, tastings of typical cheeses and cold cuts, and I recommend Fabio as a guide; he is the best!!!!!
They sold a ride to 05/12/25 without a vacancy. I was charged twice and the values were not returned. A lot of difficulty and push game. But they don't solve.
Excellent trip: the stops are memorable and the Bishop’s hill is a very feat road (pity there was mist in the first leg) but this gave us a unique panorama; the cardon park was a sight and I fell in love with Cachi where I will surely return.
Too bad we only made 4 photo stops in these dream settings... far too few! I had to take pictures of the Van. 2 toilet stops one meal stop and one hour in Cachi. Correct guide but unseemly and warm. Eban our driver really drove very well for our safety on roads or roads high and very winding mountain.
The amazing landscape, the impeccable Transfer Service and the most remarkable is the Service provided by LUIS really is a guide with a lot of mastery in his metier. Very informative and willing to provide answers on all queries.
Beautiful trip. Incredible landscape. The impressive cacti (Cardones). The driver and guide (Mr. Antonio) made us spend a humorous day to which the beauty of the landscape was added. Caqui Town: picturesque and with friendly and very good people! I recommend.
Very good experience! Both driver and guide offered excellent service. The excursion was the best we did
I had the opportunity to tour the beautiful city of Cachi with La Quebrada Turismo and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The trip was comfortable, safe and very well organized. The scenery throughout the tour is simply spectacular: the Calchaquíes Valleys, Cuesta del Obispo, Los Cardones National Park... a dream! The guide was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the history, culture and nature of the area. You could see his passion for Salta and that made the whole group even more enjoyable. In Cachi we had time to tour, take pictures and have lunch typical Salta food. I recommend this tour 100% for those who want to know one of the most beautiful villages in northern Argentina, hand in hand with a responsible, punctual company committed to quality tourism.
It's very worth it. The agency that made the tour was La Quebrada Turismo. All along the way, the explanations were perfect. The tour is beautiful, with the necessary stops for bathrooms and photos. There was no race. All in good time. I was very happy to have made this walk. I recommend it to everyone.
The experience was great, both the guide Martin, and the driver Mario, were very attentive and friendly. Great knowledge of the Argentine History and the regions we passed. Beautiful landscapes. Always punctual. Only reservation, due to the distances, the Van could be more comfortable.
Excellent excursion, very friendly guide and driver. The guide very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. Beautiful landscapes and you can buy local products.
The tour is very nice. The whole tour has breathtaking views of Los Cardones National Park, Cuesta del Obispo, Recta del TinTin ending in wonderful Cachi. We also toured several craft stalls Our guide was David and I must highlight his good humor and his willingness to take care of all our concerns and allow us to take pictures in each place (the views are so shocking that many times we took longer than he indicated, but he always had patience). I recommend this tour
tutto perfetto, la guida Simena, l'autista Mario, il prezzo buono per una intera giornata ed il pranzo. Ovviamente l' interesse principale era il parco dei cactus e la cittadina di Cochi
Excellent!! On time, friendly, always attended our inquiries, from the company, coordinators and drivers, good vehicle and Driver Antonio with experience to climb the bishop's slope, which made us able to travel quietly, was explaining everything during the trip. Cachi beautiful!! There were 6 of us and the experience was very good.
Very good service. Punctuality, cordiality, the guide very friendly and funny. The beautiful trip. It meets all the guidelines.
Very good tour, the guide, sun, excellent explaining and answering the doubts of the passengers, and the driver, mario, very good driving.
Everything beautiful, the very dear guide, friendly, explained super well and had tremendous data. The most beautiful landscape. An exceptional tour. We were very happy
In the Tour de Cachi we had Fernando as a guide, who is noticed the passion for his work and the extensive knowledge of geology, biology and history, we were really fascinated with him, it was an unforgettable tour that definitely made our experience something magical. Very punctual and the activities and walks were fully fulfilled. The excellent vehicle. We cannot be happier that we chose La Quebrada Turismo!
Unbeatable landscapes!! Antonio, our guide and driver made the excursion unforgettable!! 100% recommended. Cachi Increible! The only downside, the museum does not accept transfers or debit, only cash.
Santiago our guide and Victor our driver geniuses. They made a special experience with their stories knowledge and warmth humqna
Without a doubt the coolest and most beautiful tour of the whole trip!!!! Amei!!!!! Cachí is beautiful!!! Los Cardones is indescribable!!!! Our Guide / Driver was a very attentive and nice gentleman!! Note 1000!!!!
I recommend them, hire 5 excursions with them, specific, new vans, clean, perfect explanation of the guides, I want to thank: Benicio, Mario, Gustavo, Ximena and Trinidad, if I forget anyone I apologize,
Beautiful tour and scenery! Very cordial the Guide, excellent information, which he was able to transmit in a pleasant way. A great experience
The road from Salta to Cachi is an unmissable if you visit Salta, in that journey you travel the Cuesta del Obispo, with viewpoints with unique views of the valleys, and ending you meet the Los Cardones National Park, you pass through the enchanted Valley , the famous straight line route of Tin Tin and finally viewpoint of the Ventanita Valles Calchaquies
Excellent tour! I had a beautiful day. The driver and guide are geniuses!!! Very nice experience and very good information provided by the guide!
Excellent minibus driver. Impeccable transportation, clean and new. Jeremias, the excellent guide. He explained in Spanish and English. Very helpful
This tour is amazing! It's so worth it! Los Cardones National Park is incredible, Vale Nevado is beautiful (and you can even buy several seasonings in the region) and Cachi is fascinating! The operator was very punctual, followed the itinerary exactly and Mônica, our guide, was very friendly! I loved. I highly recommend the tour and La Quebrada Turismo.
Both the driver (Alejandro) and the guide (Fabian) made us an incredible, culturally rich experience, providing us with many very interesting historical and geographical data. They also recommended a couple of great places in Cachi. On the way back they allowed us to rest and bring us very safely, even though there was a bit of a storm on the way back and the road is not easy at all, also avoiding loose horses, excellent driver. It should be noted that they picked us up on time, in a fairly comfortable van. Let's hope for tomorrow in Cafayate, because if it is because of the person in charge who attends in person (a machirulo) he would have already ruled it out. On top of that, I'm going to have to pay a remise that wasn't in the rate, anyway, business.
Very good company, hyper-punctual, the guide explained everything, and in price they are one of the most accessible (there are others like Nordic that kill you). I took another excursion with them, also very good (in this case a bilingual guide came because there were people from other countries, and the truth is). I recommend it!!
We drove 2 hours from Salta when the transport stopped running and we couldn't continue. Luckily we were stranded just 500 meters from a parador so the wait of between 2 and 3 hours we had was not bad, we were able to eat and go to the bathroom, it would have been different if we had stayed in the middle of nowhere. They should control the vehicles before the excursions since the places visited are inhospitable and there is little or no signal to communicate in case of emergency. The group that day was quite large and was made up mostly of foreigners, some only spoke English and the guide did not, therefore they missed the descriptions of the places and the details that were told during the tour. This caught my attention since when booking on the page you can choose the language in which you want to take the excursion, that is, the agency already knows in advance if there will be foreigners. Despite the delay and the fact that the excursion actually started well after the scheduled time, the agreed stops were respected and we had time for photographs at the viewpoints and in the National Park. We stopped for 45 minutes in Cachi to explore and then returned. The guide was very friendly and so was the driver, as well as experienced, since the tour is through the mountains and there was little visibility. I only suggest that they be more professional to give the client a good experience, and that if they are foreigners they can enjoy what the guide tells.
