Private Lesson On The Ceramic Tradition In Vietri Sul Mare

Private class to mold one piece of ceramic art. Does not include fire/glaze/paint. Great option for value. Took a bus from the marina and walked back so it was easy enough to get to. We were given the choice of shipping our clay back to us or picking a completed ceramic piece. I think it would have been cool to be able to work with the clay at different points in the process. So just keep in mind that the class is only the clay wheel and molding the clay into a vase. You’d need a longer class if you’re looking for something more advanced but this is great for a first timer or beginner.

The clay master class was great. I was there with my family and we really enjoyed the experience. Elvira did a great job explaining us the history of Italian ceramic craftsmanship and we got to make our own little pots out of clay. Would definitely recommend!

We had just under an hour to learn the basics of throwing a pot on a wheel in the traditional way of the region. Elvira was a great teacher, and made what is a tricky skill look very easy. Such a great experience -Definitely recommend!!!

My daughter and I recently attended a pottery class here, and we had the absolute best time! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so warmly welcomed. The studio itself was really easy to find and genuinely feels like a little treasure trove. ​Our instructor was incredible. She was friendly, informative, patient, and so much fun to learn from. She gave crystal-clear instructions and took the time to demonstrate every step with great care. She never rushed us and gave us so much help along the way. Thanks to her encouraging support, we both managed to make our own lovely little vases! ​It was such a fun, memorable bonding experience for the two of us. We would definitely do it again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend this class enough!

The sign for the place is on a gateway and we found it a bit hard to spot. Elvira was very clear and patient and the whole experience was great fun!

I enjoyed the 121 lesson on throwing a pot and Elvira is a skilled potter - she was able to break it down into easy steps and help me when I had a go. She also gave me a history of ceramics in the town which was fascinating.

Elvira was very informative and gave a very good demo of how to throw a pot and then helped me make one - I hope I can remember it all !

My wife and I chose to do this experience while on our honeymoon in Vietri sul Mare. We had so much fun! The only regret was not booking a longer class.

My husband and I took a class with Elvira on a rainy July afternoon while our daughters looked on (they are 5 and 6 so too young for the wheel but learned a lot by watching!) It's harder than it looks but Elvira was a great teacher and we had a memorable time!

My wife and I met with Elvira, and she taught us a lesson in ceramics! It was a fun and educational experience. If you want something to do that is a quick excursion, I would recommend this activity. Elvira had all of the tools to keep us clean in a usually muddy environment. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Very informative and fun experience. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. If you want to keep what you made, you need to pay extra for shipping to your country.

This was an amazing find. Only found this opportunity the day before and so glad we booked. We are on our honeymoon and we’re looking for unique experiences while in the Amalfi Coast. The lesson was a private lesson for only me and my husband and we had a great experience watching and then practicing moulding clay in the traditional Italian way. Our instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and we both felt excited to try something new. She would assist our technique and we both were able to come out with okay looking shapes. This was fun, but a but messy so make sure you wear something washable. Not only did we have a great time, she offers to dry, fire and ship your pot to you after it’s completed. The best honeymoon souvenir we could imaging! Thanks again for best experience!

We had an amazing afternoon learning how to work with the clay, a very wholesome activity to do! we booked this experience last minute and i'm so happy we did! the host is very experienced, patient and a great teacher, offered us a coffee and water on arrival and helped us when we needed it! Would 100% recommend!

Elvira is a master at her craft. She is a patient teacher who will have you making a cute piece in no time. Be aware these pieces need time to dry and you will need to ship them back home. I opted to buy a pre-made piece for myself and left my little creation in her care to do with as she will. It's a nice introduction to the world of pottery and you can say you learned from a Master.

We really enjoyed this experience. We learned about the local ceramics traditions as well as some techniques to make a vase using a pottery wheel. It’s harder than it looks but the teacher was friendly, funny and patient.

Oh my! What a treat!!! This was the highlight of our day yesterday! Even my husband, who wasn't even all that interested in doing this activity absolutely LOVED it!!! The instructor was very welcoming and pleasant! My husband, being a college instructor, was very impressed with how clearly she explained things, speaking mostly in english while switching to her native tongue Italian from time to time. She was very patient and helped us while still allowing us to do most of the work ourselves! We can't say enough good things about this experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vietri Sul Mare!!!

Pulcinella was brilliant. She took time to explain everything and help throughout our session. I went with my daughter and son (both 20+), and we had a great time learning how to use the wheel and model the clay. We were able to pay to have our pottery sent to the uk (€25). Pulcinella advised that she would be in touch via WhatsApp to organise this. Perfect addition to our stay 👌🏻

I took my sister to a pottery class as a birthday present. Editing the clay was difficult at first, but really nice. We got a good start with our instruction and got some nice vases made. I warmly recommend it to everyone.

The instructor was very nice. It was a quick one-hour lesson but seemed like a perfect amount of time to try out the pottery wheel. She was very patient and helpful. It was fun. It is right on the street with all the ceramic shops and restaurants. About a 20-minute walk from the ferry (uphill). She was very accommodating with us by changing our time by one hour as needed to make the ferry schedule. Highly recommend for a fun quick experience.

It was a lovely experience. My boyfriend and had made a vase and the lady was very attentive. We also learnt about the history of abietti pottery and why is so famous, as well as three history of the technique itself. A very friendly environment!

Well worth trying- great experience for first timers, The little village of Vietri Sul Mare is filled with many ceramic shops which makes the trip worth while. The owner was very good with instructions giving individual one on one opportunities to work with the clay. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed this Ceramics class very much. The instructor was very patient spoke good English. My wife has a fair amount of experience with throwing clay and was able to learn some new techniques that she was thrilled with. Elvira is an amazing teacher and we had a really fun lesson in ceramics during our holiday in Vietri. She made it look easy in her demonstration but it’s a very skilled art form and we probably weren’t very good! But still Elvira helped us to finish the class with a vase and a bowl complete which she offered to post home for us once they’ve been fired in the kiln - we will treasure them forever! This is a must-do experience if you’re in Vietri as it is ceramic central.

Today was great! It was my boyfriends birthday and the host made it so special with balloons and a mug with his name the date on it. We both got to work with clay and it was a super fun experience. I would highly recommend.

We booked this activity for our daytrip to Vietri. We originally booked a 1-hour ceramics lesson, but asked for an extra hour because we were having so much fun. Elvira was super nice and very patient with us, despite us having no experience with pottery. She showed us every step and kindly helped when we were struggling with the clay. Would definitely recommend!
