I booked a private tour to Pompeii and I expected a first class tour. Nothing went as we had planned and it was a disappointment. 1. Rather than picking us us up at the ship as promised, we were told to go to a cafe near the port to meet the driver. 2. Rather than morning tickets to visit Pompeii our tickets were for 2:00 PM. I had specific asked for morning tickets to avoid the afternoon heat. I’m 85 yo and I wanted to go to Pompeii first while my energy level was high. 3. The driver didn’t provide water. I paid $480 each for a private tour and they didn’t provide water??? None of this was the drivers fault. He was just a driver following instructions. He was actually polite and had understandable English. I guess I should feel fortunate because I did get to see Pompeii and I was able to tolerate the heat.

Itinerary
Meet the driver at any port, client's hotel or other meeting location in Salerno's area. Transfer to Pompeii and meet your guide.

Fantastic tour! Giulio our driver was great at driving on difficult roads and providing interesting information about the towns and sites along the way. He also provided great restaurant recommendations in Ravelo. Ciro was our guide in Pompeii and he was great. He provided detailed descriptions of everything and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!
Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast are a must to see. Yolanta was our tour guide for Pompeii. The knowledge that she had about Pompeii was incredible. If you go to Pompeii, spend the money and get a private tour guide. It is worth the money. Luigi was our driver. He accommodated our group and sent us to the highlights of the Amalfi coast. We felt safe with his driving. When you take the Amalfi Coast Tour, you will understand. It was a fabulous day.
This was a great tour. Santolo picked us up at the port, he was easy to find. He explained where he would be taking us. It was actually very nice because he dropped us off in Amalfi, gave us a quick run down of where to go then did the same in Ravello which was wonderful as we got to explore both places on our own. At Pompeii he handed us over to Francesco who took us through Pompeii and made the tour SO enjoyable!! We can thank you enough for the wonderful day!

Our driver Luca was amazing. We stopped in Amalfi and Ravello and then to Pompeii where we had a fabulous tour with Askos Tours, Alice. She abbreviated the tour because we needed to get back to the cruise ship on time. She took us to the highlights and gave us sooo much information. She had such a great sense of humor and brought Pompeii to life for us! Such a fabulous small group experience for the four of us! Highly recommend!

This was a phenomenal experience for my family and me. Our driver, Giovanni, picked us up from the AirBNB and was friendly and engaging as he showed us Amalfi and Ravello. Along the way, he helped us overcome small challenges, even loaning us euro coins for a bathroom break. At Pompeii, our guide Teresa is also an archaeologist. She was delightful and so knowledgeable of the history of the site. Theresa brought Pompeii to life for us. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you only have a short time in the area and want to get the most out of every minute without feeling stressed and rushed.
Giovanni was awesome! We did this tour from Cruise terminal in Napels. The tour was GREAT! Beautiful roads en views (with more than enough gorgeous stops for foto’s). Pompeii was special, but really hot (bring water). We loved our small group and Giovanni our driver! Very much recommended!!
We were collected by a driver and taken by minivan along the stunning coast, stopping at Amalfi for refreshments. The driver did not speak great English and there was no guide at this point, but to be honest it was not an issue. Ravello is simply stunning and at the height of summer a welcome refreshing stop. On arrival at Pompeii we were met by Paolo, an amazing and passionate archaeologist who enthused us all with his stories. The children were fascinated and we all felt very privileged to be at such an historical place. Anyone visiting this area - please do the trip - it is amazing!
Driver was great! Pompeii was heartbreaking to Invision what times were look before the city burned in ash. Guide was very helpful. Driver then reserved a table at local, delicious homestyle Italian rest. in Rovello! The views were amazing! Next was Amalfi coast... Spectacular views!!! Driver had I've cold Waters for each stop... Which came in handy due to the high temps...

Wonderful place! Beautiful views. We had very good weather. We traveled in early June. I recommend base in Salerno. It's cheaper. It is a quiet town, with a beautiful and lively medieval town and you get there in less than an hour by train to Napóles, Pompeii, Sorrento... from the port by ferry to Positano, Amalfi, Capri...
POMPEII unmatched not only by the experience of visiting the ruins, but by the warmth of its people. The magnificent church. I'll definitely come back someday
