We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Lloyd Baia Hotel in Vietri sul Mare, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the Amalfi Coast while avoiding the crowds and high prices of staying directly in Amalfi or Positano. The hotel is conveniently located close to Salerno train station, making it very easy to get to and from the area. Carmine, the owner, arranged our round-trip transfers, which made everything incredibly easy and affordable from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, modern, and extremely spacious, with a large bathroom and beautiful views overlooking the hotel’s beach and Salerno. The included breakfast buffet was also excellent, with plenty of options to start the day. What really made our stay exceptional, however, was Carmine. From check-in to check-out, he went above and beyond to make sure our group of four had everything we needed. He connected with us through WhatsApp and was always available whenever we had a question or needed assistance. Carmine also recommended and arranged an incredible private boat tour for us. We spent a full eight hours on the water exploring the Amalfi Coast, with stops in Amalfi and Positano and several opportunities to jump off the boat and swim. The experience was fantastic and extremely affordable compared with other options we had looked at. It ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip. And Carmine’s exceptional service didn’t stop there. When we were unexpectedly stuck in another town after a storm prevented our ferry from continuing, he immediately arranged a pickup for us. He even video-called me to make sure we knew exactly where to go and where to wait for the driver. That level of personal attention was incredible. Vietri sul Mare was also an excellent base for exploring the Amalfi Coast, with easy access to ferries from both Vietri and Salerno that can take you to destinations all along the coast. Our entire group absolutely loved our stay. The hotel, location, views, spacious rooms, breakfast, and especially the outstanding hospitality from Carmine made this a true 5-star experience. Thank you again to Carmine for going above and beyond for us. We would absolutely stay here again!

Some rooms are ok and refurbished. Breakfast is low standard, need to pay for egg dishes. No gym, no pool. Unfriendly reception and staff, they hardly understand or speak English. Air conditioning does not work - they claimed 3 times to have it fixed. But you cannot open the windows due to the extrem noise from the port. „Beach“ is a construction site. For me it was a really poor experience and way too expensive for what it is.
Here’s the tea: for the price, you’d expect much better service. Where’s the 24/7 room service? Where are the gym and spa? The so-called private beach is a joke, and the rooms are extremely basic. I also arrived a couple of hours early and was met by a middle-aged eastern european woman at reception who was not accommodating at all. What happened to hospitality? The breakfast is wack too no omelettes?
We had a very nice stay at Lloyd’s Baia hotel. Our room had a beautiful view of the beach, the sea and a historical guardhouse. Dinner was very nice maybe a bit more than I thought it should be, but it was a very nice dinner. The hotel staff was very kind and attentive. Our room was older, but very nice and clean. I think some of the rooms on the other floors have been updated if that’s important to you should maybe ask for an updated room. The beach is very pleasant for walking with lots of beach glass to find. The photo is the view from our room.
We stayed one night at the end of our 9 day Amalfi itinerary. The positives: a)location: walkable to Vietri sul Mare, and long, but also walkable to Salerno. b)free parking. Somewhat negative: c)room: big enough room, bathroom shower tiny, couldn’t control room temp so too hot. d)view: just ok- balcony looked straight out over the working port and when you stepped onto small balcony you could look right to see the beach. e)breakfast: huge so you can def find something you like but a bit cafeteria like. f)staff: initial interaction upon check in was negative but others were fine. Negative: g)walls in halls very beat up and in need of painting, h)navigating around was confusing, signs were not very clear-since hotel sits on a cliff it requires 2 separate elevators or 2 separate stairwells had to get from lobby to room or room to breakfast. This hotel should probably not qualify as a 4star. Overall, my impression is mediocre, and I would not recommend, but I will acknowledge that it was of average value for a one night stay with parking included.
