What an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience! Mauricio is such a friendly and knowledgeable host and really opens up the world of coffee for his guests. We have gained a whole new appreciation for it! He works hard to keep his guests comfortable and informed, and encourages you to be more mindful of your senses in everyday life - something that we often need to be reminded of. The tour was not only informative, but so much fun and it’s so interesting to learn all about all the different ways you can make the same coffee bean taste by using specific techniques. We had an amazing time at this tour - it is more than worth the money. An added bonus - the grounds are literally breathtaking. Book this tour!

What a FANTASTIC experience, I cannot recommend this enough. This is a real family owned coffee farm in Colombia, the owners were so warm and gracious and gave us detailed overview of coffee production, from bean selection to roasting and making the perfect cup. We picked beans in the rainforest.. and tasted many beans & learned the aromas, the coffee is unlike anything you have ever had and it is just so fun. I’m back in Florida drinking coffee I bought on the tour. 5 stars, will go again,
This was a super experience - very extensive (3 to 4 hours) and completely immersive. Lots of information but totally hands-on - I've never spent so much time trying to make the "perfect" cup. We used scales, grind settings, filters, drip systems, water pouring techniques, roasters and changed things up to see how that would impact the taste. Plus time down in the finca picking beans (it was harvest time) and appreciating the beauty of the area. Bilingual Spanish and English owner/tour operator. It's in a rural area so you need your own transport, or just get a willy or bus from Filandia toward Paraiso. Fully recommended!
We just had an amazing coffee tour with Mauricio and Lina at Recua Coffee Tour. Who knew there was so much to learn about coffee? Simply fascinating. The tour was highly interactive and the time flew by. We got to participate in every step of the process and now I finally understand what goes into making a great cup of coffee. Plus I learned how to taste flavours on my tongue! I highly, highly recommend this tour. Plus it's very easy to get to, either by car or bus (with a very short walk) from Filandia.
We (two sisters, 22 and 25) went to the Recua Farm in the morning. It rained quite a lot but that didn't bother us too much. The host speaks very good English and he and his wife are super friendly people. We got to pluck, roast, and grind coffee beans, brew coffee, and drink it of course. We learned a lot about the process and the chemistry behind it and also got taught a lot about other plants and fragrance and aroma in general. The place is very pretty with a nice view, it's easy to get there by public transport from Filandia. We sort of had a private tour as we were the only ones that booked that day and we enjoyed that.
This was a very informative experience, Mauricio is an amazing coffee connoisseur, I learnt a lot about the different types of coffee and the process. However I would have preferred to see more of the real production. Thank you for your excellent service
I could’ve not asked for a better tour! Or rather: guided experience. Not only learned I a lot about coffee and its brewery, Mauricio reminded me furthermore to use my mind, to describe tastes on a more detailed level and to listen to the nature. I highly recommend this tour!!
The reviews do not lie. It was a truly great experience at this coffee tour! Mauricio and his wife were super attentive, personal and professional at the same time. We went with an open mind and not a lot of knowledge about coffee (aside from drinking it) and we finished enriched and inspired! 100% recommend this tour and do not forget to buy the coffee beans they produce.
What an incredible experience!!!! You can absolutely feel the love and passion for the coffee, land, and wildlife through that the hosts have through this tour. You learn A LOT about coffee and different local plants, always with humor and warm dialogue. There is also tons of hands-on coffee making (even roasting). Would absolutely recommend - just make sure you’re aware the tour lasts at least 3 hours!
What amazing time we have during this tour. Mauricio and Lina were very knowledgeable and show us around the coffee farm. We all left with a full understanding how coffee beans grow and what it takes to make a good cup of coffee. I also loved discovering all the different flavors that can be experienced when drinking coffee. This is a fantastic experience even if you are not a coffee lover. This tour is great for families and it’s very interactive as well.
Mauricio and his wife Lina were incredible hosts and tour guides. We started with a general overview of coffee, the farm, and a tasting. The conversation was in English and Spanish. We then walked the farm learning about different varieties of beans, plants, and the various other plants and herbs that grow there. Soaking in majestic views, new smells, and picking ripe beans was lots of fun. Our three kids (11, 9, and 4) were very engaged and interacted nicely with Mauricio and Lina. It was very educational (we now know the difference between fragrance and aroma!). Upon returning to the casita we enjoyed warm croissants with cheese inside and agua panela with lemonade. Then we peeled the beans and tasted the jello like substance around the bean. Mauricio had a separate pile of already dried beans which we then roasted over a period of 10-11 minutes, put through the grinder and tasted across three distinct brewing methods (Chemex, B60, and the traditional French press). Enough to say that it was outstanding! I’d recommend this tour to anyone looking for a hands on, educational, and personalized experience. If you’re looking for a Universal Studios themed park style tour this is not for you!
In July, our family of seven visited Recua coffee farm for a tour. Owner Mauricio lead the tour, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this tour. It was more than a tour, it was an experience into the full process from farming/planting to making your own cup of coffee. Mauricio was so friendly and clearly has a passion for the farm, land, and coffee that he shared with us . He explained the entire process thoroughly and we had a tour of the farm and then roared, ground and made our own cups of coffee using three different brewing processes. Highly recommend!!!
We went to visit the estate for the first time with my boyfriend and two friends. We were greeted by Lina with all her charm, who made it possible for the experience to be truly unforgettable, personalized, didactic. We have really learned a lot mainly about coffee, but also a bit of fauna and flora, having given us a moment of sensory meditation truly precious. I highly recommend that you visit this coffee farm, you will be able to distinguish a good coffee and in broad outlines, know the most important steps of the process. Thank you. Lina!
An unmissable plan if you travel to this area of the coffee shaft. Highly recommended 100%. The hosts are very attentive, very warm. You really change the whole perspective when drinking coffee after going to your farm. A very pleasant Mood, lots of learning and the experience of preparing a good coffee from scratch is unique. Congratulations!!!
Great visit to a coffee plantation. The group was Spanish and English speaking and we had explanations in both languages. The visit is very interesting and informative. We go from harvesting coffee beans to roasting them. All the steps are extremely well explained. Mood is relaxed and extremely friendly. To do absolutely!
Excellent experience, super friendly and knowledgeable hosts. We felt very welcome, we were given snacks and we were able to learn from all the varieties, processes and methods of preparing coffee, which by the way is of excellent quality. It's an experience I would certainly repeat. Thank you very much to Lina and Mauricio 👏🏼
Very good local experience! It is a very complete coffee class tour, where we collect coffee seeds and review the process until we reach the bean, which we then prepare to serve. The staff very friendly and always very willing.
Excellent!! Incredible attention! The best hosts, the tour and the explanation were beautiful. All the information is excellent! Nice to meet you!
It was very far from our hotel, we had to take a taxi that dropped us off at the door of the hacienda. It became very long because the complexity of the explanation was too technical for groups. As it rained, they took us to a bar and left us there without offering the possibility of waiting for it to stop. We don't feel quite tired. Find something close to your accommodation, it is very far from everything
Whether you are a connoisseur or a novice when it comes to coffee, you will love this experience. Lina and Mauricio are people with great charisma and great knowledge of the subject, their way of developing the tour will make you want to know more about coffee. 100% recommended
As Colombians, an experience of this type is something not to be missed. We are proud of our coffee, but usually our knowledge is minimal. On this tour we found a very quiet and pleasant place, a natural space adorned by birds, fruit trees, coffee and banana, as well as a pleasant climate and clean air that allow you to enjoy disconnected from the noise and smog of the cities. Most importantly, our hosts are very friendly people, smiling and always willing to provide the best service and knowledge about coffee, you soon feel at home and have the opportunity to experience the different processes involved in a good cup of coffee, enjoying a complete sensory experience. Super recommended and at a very comfortable price for everything it offers, in addition to great technical knowledge, the warmth and personalized attention received.
The truth is that it is a very nice tour, I had already been on other coffee tours but I had not seen the process in such detail. It's the best I've ever been to, my husband loved it too. You feel the passion and love for coffee, its process and cultivation.
A spectacular, different and unique place!!! If what you want is to learn about coffee while enjoying the landscape and watching birds... Recua café is the ideal place
They recommended this coffee farm to us for the coffee tour and we loved it. A lot of professionalism, they helped us understand the coffee process as well as its varieties. Furthermore, they are very nice and friendly. It is clear that we will recommend it to our friends who travel to Colombia
Like an excellent wine tasting, but with coffee. From the different beans and corresponding flavors, to the way it is roasted, tasted... accompanied by the words and passion that the owner of the farm puts into the coffee. There is also a tour of the plantation and a snack is included. Very well thought out and done!!!!
Very interesting and complete the tour. It allows you to learn about coffee varieties, their planting, harvesting, drying process, roasting and above all the preparation of coffee. We tasted it and enjoyed it a lot. Excellent hosts! And it's also pet friendly! Highly recommended!
We went with a 3-year-old girl and two one-year-old babies. We loved the tour and the tasting. It was very informative and we all participated. Mr. Mauricio and his wife were very friendly and helpful throughout.
The experience of the Recua Café Tour was beyond great! Starting with the warmth with which Mauricio and his family received and directed us throughout the tour. I recommend it 100% is a tour that renews and oxygenates you. If you are thinking about doing it, then I tell you not to look for more options because this is the best tour in every way.
Mauricio and his mom were excellent hosts, it is evident the knowledge he has about coffee and it is admirable the process he has been leading in the region with his coffee and with his work, very but highly recommended for all people who want to learn about coffee regardless if they do not know anything or if they know enough, I am sure they can learn something new. Very nice facilities, very close to the road, very clean and very organized, no high physical condition is required to be able to perform the tour. The price quality ratio is excellent a very small investment for the wonder of experience they will have!
An amazing place with very warm people and can give you an unrivalled experience, you can not stop going to the coffee axis and visit this great place
Amazing experience. The best coffee tour, lots of learning and attention by the hosts excellent. Just what we were looking for.
I had been offered other tours in farms but wanted a tour that in a typical, colorful farm, with gardens and coffee as is the region. Of all the ones I saw this was the one I liked the most so I booked and went. From the first moment Mauricio was very friendly. I certainly know what better experience I couldn't have. I was able to visit the coffee crops, pick it, process it, prepare it and taste 3 types of coffee. I learned everything I didn’t know about coffee and lived an amazing experience listening to the sound of nature and feeling the tastes of coffee. Thank you for such a pleasant experience! I recommend them in closed eyes!
Very good experience, unites personalized visit in which you take the time to enjoy Coffee, Mood and Nature. The owners are gentle and attentive, the visit exceeded all our expectations
