We had a wonderful time on this tour! Visiting the coffee farm and exploring the city was a great combination, allowing us to learn more about Colombian coffee, local culture and history. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. Everything was well organized, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

You will be driven to “Luger”, a traditional coffee farm with a hundred years of history where you will find great views, a relaxing atmosphere but specially hectares of coffee plantations. Once in here, you will meet the tour guide and coffee expert. He will walk you along the different areas of the farm in order to explain you the phases coffee has, and he will invite you later to participate in some of them. Planting a coffee seed right in the seedlings and picking up the coffee cherries from the bushes, for example. After witnessing and being part of the growing process, you will go and see the last steps, like roasting and sometimes grinding.

Really interesting tour of the Lugar cafe plantation. Marlon took us through the whole process from picking the coffee fruit to roasting the beans. We also enjoyed drinking the end product. Yazmin was great in coordinating our tour including transport and we enjoyed learning more about the town of Salento from her after the visit to Lugar. She kindly provided more coffee to try along the way.
Our guide, Juan Camilo Robledo, was extremely knowledgeable and communicative. He went out of the way to accommodate us.
Absolutely amazing. Our tour guide, Marcela, was phenomenal. The staff at Finca Luger goes above and beyond to explain the entire coffee process. Truly a remarkable experience. Pro tip: bring shoes you don’t mind ruining and do not forget a rain coat. It rains every afternoon. I highly recommend Gran Colombia Tours and all of their staff/partners.
Great experience. Excellent communication. Fun times. The driver and guide were both exceptional. The tour was well-organized and well worth it.
The guides were very nice, but the tour itself felt rushed (at one point the boss shouted to our guide in Spanish to hurry up). There was very little coffee served during the tour - one tiny cup at the start, and one tiny cup at the end. And it wasn't especially good coffee either. parts of the tour felt very much like a dog and pony show... I found out later that not all of the information given was correct. I think the price I paid - about $150 USD - would be fair for a couple, but is extortionate for a solo traveler considering the experience.
The tour was very good. We enjoyed very much. It's very informative. We experienced different processes of coffee production. We learned a lot. Our guide Gustavo was excellent. He's a nice guy, very considerate, warm hearted.
Great tour if you want to meet with local people, see how the coffee is made from zero to cup, enjoy the nature, and eat delicious food. We loved everything about this tour and cannot recommend it enough!
This was exactly what we were hoping for with a coffee tour! Super informative and fun. They gave us traditional outfits to wear too
Excellent and very informative tour about the coffee making process from beginning to end. The Salento tour was amazing , Laura was very knowledgeable and gave detailed explanations about Salento and its history. The eatery’s were also a treat.
We booked this tour yesterday evening, and are so glad we did! The hike took us to the top of Salento, and the view was just breathtaking. Our guide, Ivan, was so knowledgeable. The experience at Luger Coffee was amazing. Our guide there, Alé, was so informative, and the coffee delicious. Would highly recommend!
The guide is great. The tour was amazing. Everyone is so nice. Pedro walked us around Salento and explained all of its history. I strongly recommend!!
The tour with Jonathan at Ocaso coffee house just outside of Salento was fun, educational and engaging! They took us through the entire process from planting a coffee tree to picking the coffee cherries to the roasting and preparation processes, would highly recommend! Our guide Pedro could not have been more helpful, flexible, respectful and fun. He took amazing pictures of us walking through the town while explaining its history and showing us the best place for lunch (Maria Ocampos 5/5) and some amazing views. We came as customers and left as friends, couldn’t recommend this experience more! Our only regret is that we didn’t have time do the bird watching tour as an additional package.
Such a lovely experience, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable on the local area and history of Salento. The coffee tour was good fun and definitely worth while!! Very interesting.
Everything was amazing! Jonathan was a great guide at Ocaso for the coffee farm, took us through the entire process of making coffee, was very knowledgeable. Pedro also really took care of us, he was very fun and respectful and kept the day fun! He took us to an amazing restaurant Maria ocampos in Salento and gave us a thorough tour of the city. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!
My family form the US enjoyed it a lot. It was a hard and long walk due to some construction in the normal route, but the experience was worth it.
The best experience!! My guide was Pedro/Peter and he was so knowledgeable. He messaged me the day before with all the details and suggested things to bring which was very helpful. The driver to pick me up was on time and the day was perfect. Honestly I couldn’t find anything to improve. Peter knows EVERYONE in Salento and showed me the best local spots. And even after he gave me recommendations for future days and future cities. I will recommend this to all my friends who come to Colombia. Thanks for a great trip!!

This is more than just a tour, it’s an experience. The guide gives you fantastic information, but rather than just listening you literally do the processes yourself as if you’ work on the farm. You experience the entire process from bean to cup. Lionel was our guide and was funny, knowledgeable and passionate. This was one of our favorite experiences while in Colombia.
We had a wonderful trip. Our guide David was informative, kind, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. We asked to change our tour date at the last minute due to an injury, and the tour company and guide were very accommodating. Highly recommended.
we greatly enjoyed our tour. Our tour guide David was wonderful, informative, and knowledgeable. We had to reschedule last minute due to an injury, and a tour company was very easy to work with which we really appreciated.
It was great The guide of the tour Luisa was very kind and professional, the tour around the coffee farm was interesting and informative. Thank you 🙏🏻🌴
I can’t recommend this tour enough. Mauricio was our guide and was personable, punctual, and knowledgeable. He even took candid photos of our group at the coffee farm, which was so sweet. My group had a blast. Gracias Mauricio!
Our guide was Mauricio and he was absolutely incredible. He was very intelligent and was able to answer all of the questions that we had. For our coffee tour we were guided by Johnafon and he was the best in our opinion. He was so passionate, knowledgeable, and knew how to keep us informed and entertained using his speech and humour. This tour was above our expectations and we really enjoyed the special little touches. Lunch was tasty (despite what we read in another review) and we felt very looked after.
The visit to the coffee farm is very nice, informative in all possible ways and the drive there is so beautiful through the forest with a Jeep. Both our guide at the coffee farm Andersson and our Jeep guy David was very good, friendly and excellent English. Well worth a trip. We were hesitating to give 5 as the only thing that takes it down is the food at the lunch which is truly not good.
Pedro was an amazing tour guide - very passionate about his hometown Salento. Give this guy more than 5 stars. Stephen from Luger was awesome too
An amazing tour! The guide was excellent and we all learned a ton about coffee. I would recommend this to anyone!
1000% recommend this trip to anyone! The tour was amazing all the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all our questions, took photos for us and made us feel very welcome. The tour wasn’t rushed at all and we managed to experience everything at our own pace. Pedro, was an amazing guide, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and made it feel like one of your friends was showing you around. We also got to learn about the history of the area and how it got its name and the other towns nearby.
The Guide and the staff fromThe Coffee Farm were really nice but it was way more expensive than if i would just take a car from the main square and book the tour on the way.
Great experience! It deserves! Great work! Gran Colombia congratulations! The guide was quite cualified and the "eje cafetero" it's a great place to be.
We had a great tour of charming Salento and the Coffee Luger farm with Pedro. The coffee farm included a walk through the forest to see how the trees and other plants interact with the coffee plants. We picked a few beans, and then walked through the entire process of preparing the raw beans all the way to a freshly brewed cup of coffee. In Salento Pedro walked us around the historic center giving us an extensive history of the town, its connection to Colombian history and development, and the unique architecture. There was some confusion about lunch, but Pedro handled it perfectly. Great trip, and highly recommended!
Gustavo and team were very knowledgeable about the entire coffee farming process. We were shown the entire process from planting to harvesting to roasting. Gustavo was able to answer all our questions which showed true knowledge. I highly recommend this experience as It was the highlight of our trip!
Super authentic experience! We got to see how coffee is planted, grown, picked, processed, roasted and brewed. Our guide Jesus was amazing! Thank you!
Very nice and fun tour guide, interesting insight on the production of caffee, the farmer took the time and explained everything to us very well. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
Amazing guided tour. John was very thoughtful and welcoming. We went to Finca el Ocaso and Jennifer helped us and taught us all about coffee. (English and Spanish). John speaks very good English and German as well.
Excellent tour, you know more about the history of Salento, our guide Pedro very knowledgeable of the history, additional gave us additional recommendations (use of blocker, repellent, etc) that are indispensable! The tour of the Finca Luger with Gerardo incredible, makes you see the coffee from a different and enjoyable perspective, the delicious coffee! Super recommended!
Excellent experience to know the coffee production and picturesque town of Salento. The guide's accompaniment was extraordinary.
Great! Kevin is a fantastic guide. He showed us Salento, sharing the history of the city, the region and the country. Then we went to the Luger estate and learned about the process of harvesting, drying and roasting the coffee. Of course, we start with a cup of excellent coffee! We even participate in the roasting process! Marlon, our host on the estate, is a man with immense knowledge and a gift for sharing it. And with a great sense of humor! 😄 In between, the owner prepared us a local snack. And in the end, we were able to enjoy the coffee we had helped to roast. A fantastic experience! Essential for coffee lovers!
Fantastic experience. At the end of the day tired but soaked in everything I saw and learned. Guide Nicolai was kind and clear in his requests
Great experience. Guide Marcela is a fabulous person. The finca Luger is super interesting and the quality of the local guides is top. they have answers to all the questions and the tour that explains us the whole manufacturing process, up to making our own cup of coffee (excellent) is exciting. Small but environmentally friendly finca and 100% organic coffee. A half day to do absolutely...
I had a real surprise today. We are not tourism specialists and we are not coffee superspecialists. But today, starting with the first contact at the airport and the activities throughout the day, with wonderful routes, with visits to the coffee farm "of the forest" where we met real enthusiasts, everything was wonderful. We bow to the real professionals and thanks to Gran Colombia Tours, thank you Adriana Luz Jaramillo for making us feel at home, Andrés and the other wonderful boys of the estate, were wonderful. and I drank the coffee at the end, with invaluable information. Keep it up!!
Our guide in Spanish was Daniana. She was charming and very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the region as well as proudly scenic. Very stack helped us transport to the fine coffee maker back and forth. Then he also accompanied us to lunch and took care of every detail of our experience. At the farm we were attended by Kevin who was also very friendly and knowledgeable about coffee culture. It was a great experience and I recommend it
*”A simply unforgettable experience! Alejo and Juan made this one of the best activities I have had in Salento. From the outset, his warmth and passion for coffee were evident, and his in-depth knowledge of every step of the process, from plant to cup, was impressive. I learned a lot not only about coffee production, but also about the cultural and economic importance that it has in Colombia. In addition, the tour was very interactive, with the opportunity to pick beans, learn to roast them and, of course, taste a spectacular coffee amid a dream landscape. Alexios and Juan’s dedication and attention made me feel at home, and their infectious enthusiasm turned this tour into something much more special than I expected. If you visit Salento, this tour is essential. Not only will you learn about the best coffee in the world, but you will also take memories and knowledge that you will treasure forever. Thank you, Alexios and Juan, for this authentic and enriching experience!”* Greetings, Odai
Exquisite service and unbeatable treatment. We participated in a coffee tasting and it was an extraordinary experience. Highly recommended
The visit to the estate is divine. The place is spectacular, the people very warm and transmits the love for what they do. Participating in tasks makes intimate contact with the activity that makes a difference. The coffee is delicious, and after harvesting the cherries and doing the whole process. The visit to Salento is enriching. The village is beautiful and very picturesque. This day we were doing this tour accompanied by Nocolai who is the best guide in the world. He is a professional with deep knowledge while conveying with respect and warmth the local history and customs. In short, happy that we did! Thank you!
very pleasant guide who guided us through the whole process of coffee production. I can only recommend the tour.
Nicolai prepared us a complete experience of a whole day. First he took us to a coffee farm, then he accompanied us through the streets of Salento as he explained his history and curiosities. He also took us to eat traditional food, artisan ice cream and coffee typical of the area and prepared with original filtering methods. All this explained in a simple and close way, answering all doubts and making this a pleasant and memorable experience. We recommend it 100%!
Great coffee farm experience, super nice place and everything explained in great detail, thanks to coffee specialist Kevin. When tour guide Pedro learned in conversation that my Cocora Valley tour booked with another provider was cancelled he gave me a private tour of the beautiful Cocora Valley with very extensive explanation for a small extra charge, thank you Pedro! I had a really nice day.
Aprender todos los detalles sobre cómo se produce el café y hacerlo nosotros mismos en una granja muy bonita y tradicional.
From the Welcoming of David in Salento, who was a fantastic tour guide, to the whole coffee process that the owners of the hacienda gave us, everything was perfect. You make your own coffee from the moment you collect it and end up with a totally homemade and delicious lunch.
