This tour completely exceeded our expectations. We had the most incredible tour guide, Juan Camilo, who was not only one of the kindest human beings, he had so much knowledge. The guide and the driver picked us up from the hotel and took us first to Cocora Valley. The views in Cocora were unmatched. We did a short hike and then got in the car to go to the town of Salento. From there we had lunch and walked around the town. Next, we drove to the coffee farm where we did the tour and tasting. We were able to follow the entire process for what it takes to pick the coffee beans. After that ended we were driven back to our hotel. This was a full day experience. We were picked up at 9am and dropped back off at 7pm. If you have the time, I highly recommend this tour. I also recommend asking for Juan Camillo if he is available as I believe he is what took this experience from great to extraordinary.

Cocora Valley, in Salento (one of the places that belong to the Coffee Triangle) is one of the few entrance areas to Los Nevados National Natural Park, an environmentally protected park of snowy peak mountains. Besides, the valley was considered as Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia Heritage Site by UNESCO. Hike through this magic valley and enjoy some of the best views of the world. Be sure to have your cellphone fully charged, we know you’ll want to take pictures of the amazing nature. And, if you suddenly get caught by the mists and winds, don’t worry about it, that’s how weather tends to be, and it will only make the landscapes look even more magical.
Salento and the Cocora Valley will show you their best natural spots along with their traditional coffee farms and the warm people who take care of the territory. It is a great combination. So, believe us when we say it is one of those Colombian natural treasures you can’t miss.
Then we’ll head to the coffee farm. If you are one of those who are passionate about this drink, or even if you aren’t but you want to learn more about it, let us take you with the experts: the coffee growers. At the farm, you will meet a coffee expert that will walk you along the different areas of the farm in order to explain to you the phases coffee has: from the plantation, picking up the coffee cherries, taking out the bean, the washing, roasting, and grinding

Cocora Valley is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in my life, and the guide was fantastic.
My favourite tour on my trip so far! Covered so much - Juan was an amazing guide and so knowledgeable. Couldn’t reccomend doing this tour more if you’re in Salento
This was a day trip from Pereira. We were picked up at our hotel by the driver who was very professional. We then picked up our tour guide in Salento and drove to Cocora. Wonderful time at Cocora. I learned a lot about the area and the hike up was nice. We then went to Salento for lunch. Salento was a great busy little town and we could have definitely spent more time there. Next time we will just spend the day in Salento and another day in Cocora.
We really had a great time and our tour guide Juan was awesome! Would definitely recommend and do again!
Great tour. Comfortable transportation with pick up from our hotel. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
I have to say what a fantastic tour this was. We loved every part of it. But what really made it special was our tour guide, Juan Camilo. One of the best tour guides we’ve had. He’s personable, knowledgeable and just a guy you enjoy being around for the day. I didn’t get his name but our driver for the day was great as well. From riding on the back of an open Jeep through the Cocora Valley, to exploring the beautiful little town of Salento, to picking and making your own coffee, it was a great trip. Highly recommend!
We booked that private tour as a couple and found it quite pricey, but it was absolutely worth the money. Our guide, Juan Manuel was awesome. We never felt rushed. He took so much time to show us everything and always let us choose what we wanted to see or do. We went first to the beautiful cocora Valley and after that to the coffee tour. We went for a hike in the valley and juan manuel teaches us everything about it. After that we went to the coffee farm. It was the first coffee tour we did, which we made our own coffee from picking the beans 🫘 to rost, ground, and everything. We really enjoyed it. Thank you so much, juan manuel, to be our fantastic tour guide. Also, thank you for our driver and the coffee tour guide. We recommend this tour highly. We started at 8am (its better to start early bc to many people)
Amazing day with Marcela and our driver! Learned so many amazing facts about the valley as well as during the coffee farm experience as well. Getting to travel in the back of the jeep for a bit was also so cool.
Fabulous tour. Our family was a broad age range (13-76) and Laura catered to our different interests and energy levels!
I throughly enjoyed my time in Cocora Valley and the coffee farm. The Salento tour was a nice addition as well. My tour guide Kevin was incredibly attentive and provided clear and thorough explanations about the history and geography of the region.
We had an amazing experience thanks to Juan Miguel !!! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide, he gave us so much information so many different subjects, the history, the nature, the flora and fauna, environment. We enjoyed it so much, the pace was also really nice and all the places we visited as well! Will definitely recommend him and the tour to friends visiting this area !
We are happy about the timeliness of the whole tour. The recommendation for authentic Colombian food was pleasant. We enjoyed our time with our tour guide and feel that it reflected the warmth of the Columbian people that we had enjoyed so far. The park, the town and the coffee farm were all beautiful and a day well spent! We have a new appreciation for coffee. Fun day!
The two hour walk was not that demanding. Easy path to follow with beautiful scenery. Coffee farm tour was excellent from . History of coffee to how it is grown, processed to roasted. A great day for any age. Guides, Laura and Steve were excellent.
Laura was a fantastic guide and made the entire day easy and enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and gave great recommendations for lunch and stops around Salento. We especially loved the coffee tour, which felt personal and well paced. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a smooth, personalized tour of the highlights in the region.
We had a great experience exploring Cocora Valley, Salento and Luger coffee farm. Kevin was very knowledgeable and such a fun guide. Would definitely recommend!
My family and I booked the private tour and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide was Juan Camilo who was very knowledgable on the area and the wildlife and was great company for the day. As it was a private tour it meant we could go at our own pace and receive information tailored to our interests. We even saw a condor which was a bonus! The coffee tour was also very engaging. Would highly recommend.
Pedro bought Corcora Valley and Salento to life with his passion, energy and enthusiasm for nature and history. He took the time to adapt our experience to make it exactly what we had hoped for. Pedro went the extra mile, providing us with some amazing recommendations for the rest of our journey. We can't recommend this tour enough!
This was another amazing tour that we booked through Gran Colombia Tours and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was very well organized and the experience was truly memorable. Our tour guide, Peter, went above and beyond. He was incredibly professional, helpful, and made us feel completely at home. He was attentive to every detail and always ready to help with anything we needed. The agency itself was very responsive and supportive, especially when it came to any delays or questions. We would absolutely book with Gran Colombia Tours again. When we go back to Colombia, we will 100 percent choose them again. The entire team and the area were absolutely wonderful.
Great arrangement of the tours, every stop and experience is amazing. Many thanks to our tour guide, Laura Vega. She provided us a wealth of details though there are two people in our group.
Alejandro was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was very nice. A short hike of Cocora and nice tour of the coffee farm. Recommended!
Our guide was excellent and very friendly. Overall our trip was nice and we enjoyed a lot. Thank you for making our day special.
We had a wonderful day in Cocora Valley and Salento. Our guide Andrés was super-super good and nice! We enjoyed every moment!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience with this company. It was a beautiful day for a walk, and Kevin, my guide, made it even better. He was a young guy and incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and generous with his advice (even when hiking up a hill!). The walk through Cocora Valley was stunning, and Kevin made the whole experience feel relaxed, engaging, and personal. After the walk, Kevin took me to a coffee plantation, where I joined one of their coffee tours and was added to a small group led by Marlon. The group itself was a lovely mix of people, and Marlon was outstanding, extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, and clearly very experienced. The whole operation ran smoothly and felt like a very slick, well-organised tour. Overall, I had an amazing time and learnt so much throughout the day. Highly recommend this tour company to anyone visiting the area!
We had an amazing experience on the Cocora Valley, Salento and Coffee Farm Tour and would 100% recommend it. The landscapes in Cocora Valley are truly breathtaking, and the visit to the coffee farm was both fun and very informative. Our guide, Pedro, made the day exceptional. He has excellent knowledge of both history and local flora, and he shared it in a way that was clear, engaging and never boring. During the hike he constantly pointed out different plants and trees, explained the importance of the wax palms and the ecosystem, and answered every question with patience and depth. The logistics were smooth (transportation, timing, breaks), and I always felt well taken care of. The coffee farm visit at the end was the perfect way to finish the day: we learned a lot about the coffee-making process and got to taste great local coffee. Overall, a perfectly organized tour in a stunning area, made truly memorable by Pedro’s professionalism and impressive knowledge. Fully deserves 5/5.
Juan was a wonderful guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions. The driver was very good also. His driving kept us safe. Also, the tour guide at the coffee plantation was wonderful also. Very friendly and easy to talk with. All made me feel comfortable. I had a great time.
Had a great day with our tour guide David. We were able to see the valley, see Solento and enjoy learning about (and drinking) coffee.
Davide was an incredible guide and I would thoroughly recommend him. Beautiful guided walk through Corcora with information about the history and nature of the valley, also had plenty of time to enjoy salento following. The Luger coffee farm was a great addition to the day
Amazing coffee farm / Salento tour with Juan Camilo! He spent the day with us and was super friendly and knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend, this was the highlight of our trip.
The tour is amazing. Pedro was super friendly and informational. Overall hike was not difficult and exactly what we wanted. Cocora Valley must see, went for a delicious lunch. Must try trout with “marinara sauce” and see food. The coconut lime drink was amazing. Coffee your is hands on and great. 10/10 would recommend
This tour was hands-down, one of the best we’ve ever taken in our entire lives! I cannot say enough good things about our tour guide Juan Camilo Robledo. His English was the best of any tour guide we had in Colombia. He was DEEPLY knowledgeable about the Cocora Valley, its fauna, its flora, and its beauty. He had a positive attitude, took breaks for us, and kept us entranced. He also spotted the famous CONDOR when so many other guides did not. He gave amazing recommendations for things to do in the town and made us laugh and feel like we had made a new friend in Colombia. Truly amazing hospitality and guiding. If you get him, you will have an AMAZING experience! Plus the willys ride is SO COOL! Just be ready to hike and definitely wear the correct shoes and bring a rain jacket.
Juan Manuel was an excellent guide, providing great history and a wide range of anecdotes about the flora and plant life in Valle de Corcora. The coffee plantation tour at Luger was well run as well, comprehensive and interactive, fun for both adults and teenagers. As a native to the area, he had great insight ant recommendations of things to do and where to eat.
The tour was great! Laura was a great and knowledgeable guide, and I ended up having the tour all to myself. There is a lot of walking involved, but the views are all incredible. The coffee farm was also great, the person there taught us about the whole process and brought new perspective into the conversation. Overall, it was a great tour!!
Absolutely the best tour I did in Colombia. This was a private tour and they will pick you up from your lodging. The tour guide Pedro was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and country so I learned a lot Because it’s private, this allows the itinerary to have some flexibility depending on the person. Would highly recommend this tour! Totally okay to do as a solo traveler!
My friends and I had a wonderful time on this tour with Laura! She was very informative about Colombian culture, folk stories, and more! She took us to a beautiful restaurant for lunch and we saw hummingbirds. And lastly we got a Coffee Tour at a wonderful family owned special coffee farm. This tour taught us how coffee is grown and harvested in Colombia. Stephano was wonderful as well!
I've had a great experience! Juan is a great tour guide and a great addition to your team! I'm very happy with the service I've received looking forward to booking with you again.
The tour was excellent thanks so much, Gustavo was amazing and knew so much! He let us take the tour at our own pace and showed us some amazing view points both in Salento and Cocora! We only have excellent feedback. Thank you!
Fabulous trip to Cocora Valley and the Luger coffee plantation. Our guide, Adriana was an absolute gem! So friendly and extremely informative. We had a fun filled day. The team at Luger coffee plantation were marvellous. Would highly recommend!
Marcela was an amazing tour guide! She is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions about the Cocora Valley and Salento. I appreciated that she showed me all of the unique spots that you could visit including seeing the horses and donkeys as well as a breathtaking view of Salento. Highly recommend, and thank you Marcela for a wonderful experience.
I had a wonderful tour day! Salento is breathtaking. Pedro was the best guide - he made the day extra fun and shared a lot of very interesting history and facts throughout. As a woman traveling alone, it was nice to have a trustworthy expert to show me around. I highly recommend this tour!
Incredible very full day! Sofia our tour guide and Octavio our driver were the best! The tour was private which was a surprise to us! Overall amazing. Sofia even showed us which restaurant to eat at in Salento.
It was amazing! Our tour guide and driver did a fantastic job and we plan on doing it again next time we visit Colombia. We learned a lot, ate good food and both of them were very nice and made sure we were comfortable.
First of all thank you very much for the beautiful arrangement. The visit to the cocora valley was a piece of heaven and fantasy, Lura explained clearly, beautifully and enjoyable. The Salento region was a wonderful tour and drinking a cup of coffee in one of the specialized cafes had an unforgettable taste from the deliciousness and skill in preparation. Also, the explanation aboutbtge important events that happened in Salento plaza was Fantastic. Finally, the coffee tour was amazing with the knowledge and experience information that we had.
The hike was beautiful and the coffee farm tour was very informative. This was a private tour, so we were able to choose things like what to eat for lunch (our guide recommended a restaurant based on what we wanted to eat). The only thing we think could improve the tour would have been a bit more info on what the tour entails ahead of time. And we wish we had known to bring bug spray to the coffee farm! Other than that, we had a wonderful time.
We had a fantastic time. The tour guide was very patient and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed the tour. Definitely recommend.
Our tour guide was an absolute legend. Very knowledgeable, humble and funny. Made us feel like we were talking to a friend. He went above and beyond to give us the best places, and spots for pictures, coffee places and good restaurants. It’s an experience I will hold in my heart forever. Definitely will do this again!
During our 3 week trip in Colombia, I realized it’s not necessarily the activity that creates a special memory but more the people. We were picked up in the morning by our amazing tour guide Pedro, where he brought us to the cocora valley in our drop top jeep, got some cool action shots along the way. Both me and the girlfriend got along with Pedro wonderfully as his English and humour was an added bonus. We spent all afternoon learning about the wax palms and taking some great photos. Pictures do no justice, something you need to experience. The coffee tour was excellent, our guide was 1 of a kind and it was super interesting to experience the entire lengthy process of making my favourite drink. We ended off the day with learning some history of Salento, it was so nice to see the passion Pedro takes in his city. He then invited us out later to have some drinks and give us some pointers for the rest of our trip. Amazing day, amazing guide 10/10 recommend!
Great way to plan a day trip to Salento from Bogotá. We landed in pereira around 8 am , with a driver picking us up - arrived in Salento before 930am. Had time for a quick breakfast or coffee. Met with our guide. Drove straight to Crocoa Valley and made it back to Salento for lunch at 1pm and made to the coffee farm around 2pm. The coffee farm tour lasted about two hours and finished around 4pm. We spent another hour in Salento exploring the streets and managed to leave for the airport around 530pm. Made it to our 8pm flight back to Bogotá. Our driver and guide were awesome. And having them really save time and making the day trip from Bogotá enjoyable. Communication with the tour company and the guide & driver via WhatsApp were easy. Loved the experience visiting the small family run coffee farm and learning about coffee plantation.
We loved Sarah and the tour. She was very sweet and professional and went at our pace. We were exhausted at the end! Highly recommend this tour
Our guide Pedro was amazing and treated us as friends rather than as customers. He really went above and beyond and explained everything in Great detail as well as providing recommendations for the rest of our trip
