We travelled during EID so many places were closed. We did get to go to Mosque, ride by beach and ride by souk. We also rode by the palace.
It was a very interesting and very informative half-day city tour accompanied by Rashid - the nicest, most helpful and engaged tour guide we could have. Apart from our schedule we visited many more places, heard a lot of interesting stories about Omans life and are very thankful for this experience!
Abo Salim was the best guide. He was so knowledgeable and he shared so much about Omani heritage and culture. The city is so spacious and safe. Abo Salim helped us to buy souvenirs at fair prices and took us to the best artisans in town.
Our trip went really great. Our guide Majid is super nice and well informed. He showed us very beautiful places and the comfort of his car was amazing. Trully recommend!
This half-day excursion in Salalah was both enjoyable and serene, packed with fascinating insights! Our guide, the incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable Ali Quahoor, took us to the stunning Sultan Qaboos Mosque first. After that, we explored the mountains and visited Job’s tomb, surrounded by breathtaking and tranquil scenery. Next, we indulged in a traditional Omani lunch at a quaint market where we had the chance to purchase authentic Frankincense, all while soaking in the beauty of the nearby beaches. It was a truly delightful experience, and our guide was exceptionally helpful, enhancing our adventure even further! Absolutely loved it! 🙏🏻
Very entertaining Salalah city tour and a very good and educated guide, who gave us very good explanations of what we were visiting.
Ali Qahoor gave us an amazing tour and took us to an authentic Oman lunch. His vehicle was very comfortable and he was extremely knowledgeable of the city.
The tour was amazing. Salem was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and professional. He took me very well through the history and culture of Dhofar and Salalah. We did some shopping, and the food was also very good. I really enjoyed it.
Very nice and competent driver. Did even sing some Koran - PHANTASTIC. Showed places beside mass tourism. Really did enjoy!
It isn't worth the money at all. Take a taxi and go to the places that you wish to see. It would be much better. To be honest, there's nothing to see anyway.Except maybe for the museum, the guide escaped a couple of the stops, which I have no idea why.
I had an amazing trip with mr.Abdulaziz , he was well educated about omani culture , our journey has just few stops however , he took me to many different places that must to be seen along with taste journey of multiple omani dishes ,he was kindly answering all of my questions , I really enjoyed it , it was truly above and beyond the expectations , I highly recommend mr.Abdulaziz Saleem , best tour guide ever !
Our guide knew many of the local places of interest, but I'd have liked more information about them. Instead, he wanted to talk to us about inappropriate topics such as politics, religion, prostitution and sexuality. To his credit, he chose a good local restaurant for dinner and he knew the Salalah region very well without needing GPS.
Wonderful trip. Abo Salim was an excellent guide, very knowledgable and most pleasant company. He was very flexible and tailored our itinerary to suit us, on his advice. Highlights for us were the fish souk, where we bought the most wonderful lobster, freshly cooked, which Abo Salim arranged for us to eat at a small restaurant later in the afternoon when we were on the desert safari; buying fresh coconut to drink at a stall. We really loved the trip and highly recommend it.
It was a enjoyable experience with the super professional, kind and educated guide Salem Al Ali. He enriched us with many information about the country's culture. I truly recommend Beautiful Slalalah Tour when you visit this beautiful city.
Salalah doesn't have much to offer and we wouldn't have discovered what it does have without this tour. Our guide Salim was excellent: pleasant, knowledgeable and willing to change the plan to suit our preferences. He contacted us the day before to sort out the details of our meeting. His car was clean and comfortable and his driving was careful.
It was a well organised tour and our guide Mohammed Ali showed us all the hidden gems in and around Salalah city. We enjoyed the tour very much.
Our day in Salalah with Salim was delightful. Salim is an excellent representative for the people of Oman. He communicated with us before the tour and let us know precisely where to meet him at the port, while other passengers were left to guess where to meet their guides. The tour was well organized and throughout the day he listened carefully to our wishes and did his utmost to fulfill them, even convincing a shopkeeper to sell me a bowl that I wanted that was not for sale. He explained a great deal about Omani culture and shared with us the everyday experiences of Omani life while dispensing insightful life advice. Numerous times his generosity of spirit extended to help other travelers in need of assistance. From listening to Salim singing verses from the Koran in the mosque, to enjoying a refreshing cold coconut juice, to sipping a milk tea with freshly made flatbread at a cafe near Job’s Tomb, it is a day we won’t ever forget. Thank you, Salim, for welcoming us to the Land of Four Seasons and the Land of Frankincense.
The frankensence museum was closed and the guides didn't know till we got there. Shopping seemed to be the target of our guides and they were more than happy to introduce us to their villagers. We finally convinced them that ending the tour one hour early was not acceptable and they wound up taking us to a water fall with no water and not to the falls on our agenda.
Went to the Museum. Nice to see the Old Artifacts. Ships etc I had great tour guide Mohammed Ali On East of Salalah Wadi Darmat . etc. N yesterday City tour of Salalah
Saleh was a very good guide and spoke good English - He took us to all the sightseeing areas and we had a great time. There was no language barrier which was great.
Memorable trip with an excellent tour guide. We were lucky to have Mr. Salim as our tour guide is very and I would highly recommend him to tourists willing to explore Salalah and its history.
Today’s (1/10/23) half day Salalah city tour started at 10 AM and completed at 1:30 PM by Mr. Abu Salem very well with the usual diligence & cooperation covering all scheduled places of visit successfully. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with Mr. Abu Salem during the last three days of Salalah tours.
we have travelled many countries but ABU Salem was the best guide among all he really took care of our comforts, happiness and satisfaction, explained in details of the sites
Really enjoyed this tour which gives you a flavor of local Salalah and also a couple stops up in the mountains. Ibrahim was a wonderful guide, even suggesting an additional stop at a traditional open air meat and vegetable market that shows the authentic way of local day to day life. Visiting during Khareef season was an added bonus, and since the museum was closed, Ibrahim added an additional stop on our way up to the mountain to see a waterfall and spring we could walk through. The scenery is majestic.
We had an amazing time exploring the beautiful city of Salalah with a trained guide provided by the Beautiful Salalah. He had sound knowledge of the city, its culture, and its spots. We will come again to explore the rest of the Salalah soon.
I’m so frustrated. We did not go on the tour. We could not connect with the tour driver. No wifi in the Port. Tried to contact driver via WhatsApp, but the phone number printed on our ticket was totally wrong. Finall some poor soul in Salalah texted me back and said approximately “I do not know who you are. “. “ Wrong number”. I am hoping we cannot get our money back through Viator without having to dispute with Bisa. Use caution in Salalah, Omán if you are on a cruise. Only book through the ship! Lesson learned the hard way. MG.
It was good trip for historical & religious specimen to see; guide was also good & helpful throughout the tour with lot of info.
I had arranged a half-day Salalah tour through Viatour with Beautiful Salalah Tours for 15 people. We were scheduled to be picked up at the cruise ship port at 8:00AM. I had everyone meet in a lounge on the ship at 7:30 so we could all exit the ship together. We were waiting on the pier by 7:45 for the bus which hadn't shown. At 7:55AM we called the number we were given on the confirmation email, as the vast majority of tour busses at the pier had already departed. We were told that the bus was in traffic and would be there shortly. The bus arrived at 8:20AM and we left the pier around 8:30. The guide was good and his English was above average, but he was very robotic, meaning he sounded like he was reciting from a script, not just speaking from his knowledge of the area. When we were approaching our stops, the guide would explain, but when we were walking to the site and at the site, he didn't get involved in explaining what we were seeing and just stayed to the side. At our last stop, Prophet Ayub's Tomb, the guide asked me if we still wanted to go to the Salalah Mall, even though the Mall was on the itinerary for the tour. I think the guide was more concerned about the time he was to return than completing all the sites we were scheduled to see, due to their being 30 minutes late starting the tour. We went to the Mall, spent a little time there, and were promptly returned to the ship. All in all, if visiting Salalah again and needing a tour, I may opt for a different tour operator.
Our guide took us to the Great Mosque, the Market and the Archaelogical site but we mwntioned we wanted to go to Job's tomb which wasn't strictly in the tour but he decided to take us anyway. The tomb is not thatmuch to see but the drive there is lovely and we saw so many camels eating by the side of the road . The city is clean and safe and the people are friendly.
It's highly recommended to book the tour with Beautiful Salalah, the staff has been really cooperative through out the stay. Sightseeing tours were amazing. Excellent services 👍
Very disappointing. Our guide was not the experienced English speaking guide as advertised. Could not speak English and didn’t know where he was taking us, constantly on phone to other drivers. We had booked 2 months in advance so expected better. Beautiful city.
I was surprised to see so many diversity in the places in just one city. It is historic, clean and modern. Just loved the city tour.
On October 29, we booked a half-day excursion through Salalah via GetYourGuide, organized by Beautiful Salalah Tours. We assumed that it would be a completely normal group excursion with a bus and several tourists. However, when we were standing in front of our hotel, the first big surprise came: Instead of a bus, a jeep was waiting – and just for the two of us. Our guide Almahry and our translator Rana greeted us so warmly that we felt comfortable immediately. Almahry asked us what we would like to see and experience, and then the entire route was put together according to our wishes. Because of this, the excursion didn't feel like an ordinary booked excursion at all, but rather like a day spent with people who really wanted to show us their home. We visited the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Mosque, the old souq, drove through the old town of Salalah, and made a stop at a shopping center to buy gifts. Throughout the entire trip, we learned many interesting stories and information about Salalah, Oman, and the people there. A small surprise during a stopover was especially nice: Almahry brought us fresh coconut water, papaya, and bananas. We hadn't expected that at all. It was a small gesture, but it said a lot about his warm and attentive nature. ❤️ Rana also did a great job. He explained an incredible amount to us, answered our questions, helped us, and always made sure that we understood everything. His friendly and patient manner made the day even more beautiful. What touched us the most was the genuine warmth of both of them. By the end of the excursion, we almost felt like we weren't just saying goodbye to our guide and our translator, but to two people with whom we had spent a truly wonderful day. And the only thing we didn't like about this excursion at all? The time simply passed much too quickly. Many thanks, Almahry and Rana, from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful day, your kindness, and all the beautiful moments. We will remember this excursion and especially both of you for a long time. ❤️ A big thank you and praise also to Beautiful Salalah Tours for the great organization. Absolutely recommended – not only because of the beautiful places you see, but above all because of the people who make the excursion something very special. ❤️
Great ride to know the main areas of Salalah, extremely friendly and helpful guide (in English).
Beautiful visit to the mosque The rest of the lap was disappointing Our very prepared and kind guide also took us to taste some fresh fruit
Our guide was very friendly and took his time. Perfect trip to get some great impressions of Salalah.
A good opportunity to visit the city , the Souq mosque, etc. The experienced and friendly guide. Good idea for those like me -staying in Alila Hinu Bay - want to know the surrounding ...
Booked this experience with a guide in English, we found myself and my husband alone with a bus of Poles. Picked up punctually at our hotel with a Polish guide, by bus he only continued to speak Polish even though he spoke perfect English. Arriving at the mosque we found Ahmed there who guided us inside. Then we got back in the bus and were taken to the souk and when we asked Mis Anna how long we could stay she replied to turn to Ahmed. Who just arrived with his car was sent back to the mosque because someone had left something there 🙀 So for us no explanation in English!!! Then another stop without understanding what we could do In the end Ahmed took us with His Car So Ahmed very kind person Ms Anna absolutely unprofessional
Interesting tour but the mosque was closed to tourists because of Ramadan. The tomb of the prophet Ayub (Job for Christians) has puzzled us a little ... We expected something bigger! Visiting the souks and other shops allows to finalize the purchase of his souvenirs ... The Museum of Incense explains the history of this culture.
The Salalah city tour was quite interesting and educational. Dr. Salim is a very friendly and entertaining guide who has conveyed historical and religious information in a very good English. The organization of the pickup, etc. worked smoothly.
We booked very spontaneously and had a tour alone with our guide Salim. It was a great 4 hours, we learned a lot about the city and the country. We drank fresh coconut and ate very tasty fresh papaya, I have never eaten a better papaya. Our wishes were taken into account, we really wanted to buy fresh dates. I can only recommend this tour. We booked through Getyourguide.
We did a city tour with Salim on January 15th. It was a very nice day. We saw a lot and Salim was able to explain everything to us well and in detail. He had an answer to all of our questions. We are very grateful to Salim for his hard work. He introduced us to his country and its people with great enthusiasm. Everything was very informative. It was a great pleasure for us to do the tour with this personable and friendly person. For us, Salim is the best guide. Conny and Jörg from Munich
The communication to agree on the pick-up location and time worked smoothly. We were picked up on time and were shown almost all of the places except for the trip to the tomb of Nabi Ayub (Prophet Job), which was a shame. The driver was very taciturn, so we hardly learned anything about the places. There was no water in the car.
We had a great tour with Karel Tomastik! A very nice person who showed us everything Salalah has to offer. The tour lasted 4 hours, there were two of us and we saw everything (incense market, gold souk, museum, banana plantations, palace of the Sultan). Highly recommended!!!
