Although Taqa is famous for its castle but Taqa has a great beach also and is a great spot for birds watching. The view of Taqa city is great from the beach side.
This is old house, entrance inside is optional if you want to pay. It is good from outside as well. The place has a souvenir shop as well.
Taqa Castle is one of Dhofar’s most distinguished landmarks, which was built in the 19th century. Its walls were constructed from solid blocks of ‘Taqa Stone’, a local limestone material composed chiefly of fossilized shells and corals. You can see the well, roofless jail, formal sitting area also known as majlis, bedrooms, kitchen and stores. In these areas you will see traditional weaponry, jewelry, every day household items and fascinating traditional colorful pieces of clothes.

Here you will be seeing the seasonal waterfalls (if its there at the time of your visit), a spring where you can do pedal boating, kayaking and motor boating (boating at own cost) overlooking the mountain of Jabal Qara series. A trip to Salalah is incomplete without visiting this beautiful valley and it is one of the most visited place in Dhofar Region. You can do trekking from one point of the valley to another.
Tawi Atair Sinkhole Oman is the most famous sinkhole in the Dhofar (Dofar) governorate. There is a trek to go to the down side of the sinkhole, but requires you to be physically fit to go down. The upward trek needs good health.
Jabal Samhan is the highest point in Dhofar region, which is above 4000 feet. From here the view is amazing and if you are lucky, you will see mountains passing below you. It’s a perfect place for a recording timelapse and taking photographs of clouds being over it.
This is a magnetic hill in Dhofar, commonly known as Anti Gravity Point, where car travels up hill on Netural Gear
Wadi Hannah (also called wadi Hinna) has Baobab trees, natural water pool and waterfall of Ayn Hasheer.

We had an amazing experience exploring both East and West Salalah with our guide, Mohamed Ali. Mohamed was an excellent guide from start to finish. He was punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable, and he took us to some of the hidden spots that we would never have discovered on our own. He also gave us some great recommendations for local Omani cuisine, which made the experience even more enjoyable. What really stood out was how well he looked after us and made the whole trip feel relaxed and enjoyable. We got to see so much of Salalah and experience places beyond the usual tourist attractions. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Mohamed Ali to anyone visiting Salalah. We will definitely be returning to Salalah in the future — we had such an amazing time!

We book the East Salalah Safari. The pickup time is on time, the Land Cruiser car is OK for 6 persons (but I think for people sitting in the most back side, the space is very small and I suggest to use bigger car for more than 4 persons). The journey to destinations is exciting in some parts. The guide (Abu Salim) really tries his best to make the tour enjoyful.
The place is nice and the tour guide name Mr. Ali Qahoor he is nice, kind and good to be with. Its a wonderful experience thank you ❤️
The tour guide (Osama) was great, the landscapes are nice, all in all it's good value if you only have a short period of time in Salalah and you want to make the most out of it. I must however note that the person handling bookings did not do a good job in my case. He said he would get back to me regarding organisation, he did not, he did not send me the information pertaining to one of the two tours and did not add me to the whatsapp group twice in two tours. That is a lot for just 2 days and 2 tours. In any case, I made it, enjoyed the tour, it was worth it :)
We did a 4 days tour with Beautiful salalah tours. The booking and arrangements were smooth just over a chat on whatsapp only. Our guide Brother Ali was waiting for us at airport. He showed us around the next 4 days including east and west salalah, as well as the springs and city tour. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and he looked after my family really well. He even went out of his way to take us to local restaurant to try local cuisines.

Oman is a beautiful country and our guide and driver, Mohamed Ali was first class. Wadi Darbat is a cool oasis of a place which even at this time of year is a wide river but not full enough for the latter falls to run..It was a great day out.

This was a very interesting tour,where we had the opportunity to see many different local areas. Our guide Mohammid Ali was excellent, he was very knowledgeable and had brilliant English. He was a local man from Taqah, which we visited, and was able to share alot of information about local customs and history. He was first class. Our only complaint is that the tour was advertised as 6-8hours and it was much shorter. We had seen everything on the itinerary after 4 hours and our guide kindly offered to take us to an extra town, Mirbat, to ssee the fishing boats and market. We saw some beautiful scenery including mountains, beaches and historical landmarks and many camels.

Our guide Mohammed Qahour made a real difference creating an authentic connection with his kindness and humor, and sharing countless information and personal perspectives also on current Omani culture. Interesting and enjoyable excursion. It is a combination of visiting the sights in the West of Salalah and enjoying the nice beaches there. You can even choose, at which of the 4 Al Fazaiah beaches you will stay and possibly swim.
The eastern side of the mountains (jebel) cresting around Salalah was wonderful to explore and experience! Ali Qahoor was a kind and knowledge guide who provided us a wealth of cultural, ecological, and historical context on the sites we visited and the sights we saw. I recommend this day-long excursion to anyone who visits Salalah and the Dhofar governorate.
Mohammed Ali led a great tour for us, and pointed out interesting scenery along the way. The mountains were mist shrouded and very dramatic. Highly recommended.
The trip provided a lot of experiences, in which our guide, Mahad, played a big role. Unfortunately, the Darbat waterfall dried up, and I think the organizing company should inform travelers about this so that they are not disappointed. In my opinion, the placement of swan boats and wooden houses did a lot of harm to the landscape, and I was especially touched by the fact that a small antelope was kept in a cramped cage. Fortunately, Mahad managed to offset this negative with his pleasant humor and the extras added to the trip, and with his help we were able to glimpse into the customs and lives of the people who lived here in the past. The mountains provided a breathtaking view, especially when we looked down from above. Our guide left enough time for everything, so we can remember this trip with many beautiful photos.
Thanks to Tariq for being an excellent tour guide. Although it wasn't the peak season for travel it was easier to navigate scenic areas without the hassle of queuing or dealing with traffic.
A beautifully paced tour covering beaches, wadis, viewpoints and caves — never rushed, never messy. Everything felt natural and easy. The pick up was from the hotel with a very clean and comfortable car, water and light snacks. Our guide surprised us with fresh coconut water and delicious local bananas. Big thanks to our guide Mohammed Qahour - calm, knowledgeable, shared interesting facts and showed us places known only to locals. Bonus stop in Mirbat city, which was great. Highly recommend if you want East Salalah without the tourist chaos.

We had a wonderful experience on the East Salalah Mountain Safari to Wadi Darbat and the surrounding beaches and camel areas. Our guide, Musallam, was exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable, offering great insights throughout the trip. Although it’s winter and the landscape isn’t at its lushest, the mountain views were still beautiful, and we really enjoyed the peaceful tea and fresh bread break in the hills. Overall, a memorable and well-guided tour. Highly recommended!

We had a great and very entertaining trip with our driver Abdullah who gave us lots of information and allowed us to spend ample time in the various locations. The only downside was some confusion about the Mirbat sand dunes which was one of the main reasons this tour was chosen but we were told towards the end of the tour was not included. Either the itinerary is incorrect and needs updating or the driver was not aware of this visit but either way we didn’t go. Aside from this issue the rest of the day was great and I also spent the day with an amazing group of likeminded solo travellers

I have the most memorable group trip with Beautiful Salalah Tours. They are good at handling time and managing the groups from pick-up to drop-off. All the spots are good for viewing and photoshooting. Although we are in wrong season that no water coming out from Dirbat Waterfalls, the tour is still so good that I recommend all of you to join. The tour guide - Ali Qahoor is super good and nice for everything. Please do not hesitate.
I liked the trip,everyone should do it,because Wadi Darbat is an important place to see, it was nice and surprisingly green. Also baobab trees is something you could see on this tour,very unique trees. We saw many sites, visited many places,i was happy to get to know the country.

We thoroughly enjoyed the East Salalah Mountain safari. The highlights were the view from Jabel Samhan, and the baobab trees. Taqa castle, beach and town were fascinating too. Mohammed Almahdali was an excellent guide and driver.
Osama was our guide for this experience. He is a very nice person open to answer all the time at our questions. We have the time that we needed for each stop and Osama let us decide when we want to go to the next point. For people that are for the first time in the Middle East this is a very nice and interesting experience. Salalah and surroundings have a lot of beautiful buildings and landscapes.
