About Activity
Discover the history, landscapes, and living culture of the Sacred Valley on this private full-day journey through Maras, Moray, and Ollantaytambo. Begin at the Raqchi viewpoint with breathtaking panoramic views over the valley before descending to the famous Maras salt mines, where nearly 3,000 salt pools cascade down the mountainside and continue to be harvested by local families using ancestral techniques dating back to Inca times.
Continue to the archaeological site of Moray, an extraordinary series of circular terraces believed to have functioned as an Inca agricultural laboratory, where different microclimates allowed the experimentation and cultivation of a variety of crops. Later, arrive in Ollantaytambo, one of the most important living Inca towns in Peru, known for its impressive fortress, agricultural terraces, temples, fountains, and original stone streets that still preserve the urban design of the Inca Empire. Throughout the day, enjoy spectacular Andean scenery while exploring the cultural and historical legacy of the Sacred Valley.
