About Activity
Discover the highlights of the Sacred Valley on this private full-day journey through Chinchero, Moray, and the Maras salt mines. Begin in Chinchero, a highland town where Inca agricultural terraces, sweeping mountain views, and a colonial church built atop an ancient palace reveal the fusion of two cultures. Continue to Moray, an extraordinary archaeological site of circular terraces believed to have served as an Inca agricultural laboratory for experimenting with different crops and microclimates.
Proceed to the Maras salt mines, where thousands of salt pools cascade down the mountainside, still harvested by local families using traditional methods passed down since Inca times. Midday, relax at Wayra Ranch in the Sol y Luna estate with a traditional Andean lunch followed by a Peruvian Paso horse show. The journey concludes in Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town with original stone streets, terraces, and the iconic Temple of the Sun overlooking the valley.
