Day 1: Cusco – Train Journey – Aguas Calientes Morning / Afternoon Hotel pick-up in Cusco at the scheduled time, followed by a transfer to the train station (Poroy or Ollantaytambo, depending on availability and season). Enjoy a scenic train journey through the Sacred Valley along the Urubamba River to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Afternoon Upon arrival, our local staff will assist you and escort you to your hotel for check-in. Free time to explore the town at your own pace. Optional activities: Visit the local artisan market Relax at the hot springs (optional, entrance not included) Enjoy meals at local restaurants In the evening, your guide will contact you or meet you at the hotel to provide a briefing for the Machu Picchu visit the following day. Overnight: 3★ hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo)
Day 2: Machu Picchu Guided Tour – Return to Cusco In the Morning After breakfast at your hotel, take the shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu, enjoying scenic mountain views along the way. Guided Visit to Machu Picchu Explore the iconic Inca citadel on a 2–3 hour guided tour, depending on the assigned circuit. Your professional guide will explain the history of Machu Picchu, Inca architecture and engineering, and the cultural and spiritual significance of the site. There will be time for photos at the main viewpoints, following official circuit regulations. Free Time (Optional) Depending on your ticket type, you may have free time after the guided tour to enjoy additional views or return to Machu Picchu Pueblo for lunch. Afternoon / Return to Cusco At the scheduled time, board the return train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. Upon arrival, our transportation will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco, where the tour concludes.
Important Notes Train schedules and stations are subject to availability. Entry times and circuits to Machu Picchu are assigned by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture based on availability. We strongly recommend booking at least 3 months in advance to have the best chance of securing Circuit 2. If Circuit 2 is unavailable, Circuit 3 and Circuit 1 are also excellent options and offer fascinating perspectives of Machu Picchu. Immediately after booking, please send us clear photos of your passports, as this is required by the Ministry of Culture of Peru to purchase Machu Picchu entrance tickets. This trip was absolutely amazing. Isao was the best tour guide I have ever had. His knowledge on the site was very extensive and he thought of everything to make our trip enjoyable. I loved this experience very much. My tour guide was isao and alfe, they were very nice and patient. One day isao had to step out, so alfe was our guide,when we were going to rainbow mountain, one of the hardest hike I did, he was able to lift up my nine year old cousins up the Mountain. Alfe was very patient and kind with us. Isao was also very good, it was 11 people he had to take care of. He was able to settle on what some people wanted and what other people wanted. He was very patient,kind, and informative. I’m 12 years old and I loves this trip!

Great experience booking Machu Picchu with Peru Hikers. They gave us loads of information quickly via WhatsApp, so we could book the right things, and everything went smoothly, from our taxis with Ever to the trains and buses. The highlight was our private tour with Isa, he was excellent! He was very friendly, told us loads about the Inca & Machu Picchu history, took 100s of photos and even took us up to the sun gate, which we really wanted to see 🤫😅 Would 100% recommend Isa and Perú Hikers 🙌🏻
Amazing amazing amazing! I cannot say enough about this tour. Peru Hikers organized the whole thing, from hotel pickup to bus drop off. I was met with 2 people as soon as I arrived at the train station in Machu Picchu. Then my amazing tour guide Isa+Saul met me outside the entrance to Machu Picchu. He knew exactly where to take pictures and how to pose. He felt like my personal photographer! He also was full of knowledge and gave me so much info about Machu Picchu. All the tour information was sent the day before, and I truly felt prepared. I’m a solo traveler and I am extremely happy that I chose Peru Hikers! Our guided tour of Macchu Pichu was wonderful. Peru Hikers were thorough with communication from the day I booked the tour. They purchased our bus and train tickets and gave us thorough instructions on where to go and who to meet. Our guide was Isao and he went above and beyond to show us all of Macchu Picchu. We learned the entire history of the area including architecture of the area. There was a slight chance of rain on our trip and Isao was very helpful by bringing ponchos for us, bug spray and sunscreen to make sure we were taken care of. Tour was well organised. The company was thoughtful to ask for our opinion on which circuit to we preferred . We didn’t have to wait every long between transfers. Peru rail train was comfortable and clean. The restaurant which we were taken to lunch had a fabulous view and food was delicious. The weather wasn’t very kind to us when we went to Machu Picchu. It was drizzling quite heavily and at some vantage points the view was shrouded with clouds . Luckily our guide Isao was experienced and told us to be patient. The clouds would clear. He even helped us take many amazing photos. We really appreciate Isao’s passion and clear explanations of Inca culture and of Machu Picchu itself . He really made our day despite the not so ideal weather. All in all, this was a memorable day trip for us as a family thanks to Peru Hikers
