Snowshoes on! Let’s explore the wilderness of Lapland with this complete educational snowshoeing tour adapted to every level! As you will snowshoe into the silent snowy forests, your outdoor guide will explain to you the basics of how to survive in such difficult conditions. You will first orientate yourself with a map and a compass to find your own way and reach the shores of an immense frozen lake. On the way, your guide will share with you some of its knowledge about the surrounding nature: how to use some trees or mushrooms to make a fire, for medicinal purposes, etc. It will soon be time to set your little camp! Let’s make your own fire to warm you up. And because one cannot survive without food, you will also drill your own hole in the frozen lake and try ice-fishing! If you catch a fish, your guide will show you how to grill it over the fire. Don’t worry if you are unlucky: a delicious Finnish barbecue snack will be prepared by your guide. This will also offer you a convivial moment around the fire and a great opportunity for your guide to answer your questions about Lapland! At the end of the tour, you should be ready to become the next Arctic adventurer of Rovaniemi!

This was a great trip. It was unusually cold (even for Finland) but our guide, Leon, made sure we were warm and happy the whole time. We snow shoed down through a beautiful forest to a frozen lake where there was a tipi. A fire was lit and we had a warming drink and snack before trying our hand at ice fishing. Leon was very knowledgeable and flipped between french and English with ease as he explained how to light a fire and we cooked sausages. Then a walk back through the forest in our snow shoes. Loved it.
Our guide Gabriel turned this activity into a real experience. He shared his survival tips with us in French and English with simple vocabulary, which made it very accessible to us. With a compass and a map, you will have to find your way through the forest. Hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to catch a fish then!
We’ve enjoyed a really wonderful snowshoeing experience! Professional snowshoes and waterproof boots were provided, we walked about 20-25 minutes to a tent with fire camp nearby the lake. The guide taught us skills of using woods to make camp fire, it’s a bit challenging to cut the side of wood into feather shape but we found this really interesting. The snow view of the river is also amazing, it feels so nice to enjoy hot chocolate with sausages and see this view under a clear sky!
We went on this adventure as a family of 4, with two boys aged 7 and 9. It was the highlight of our holiday. There was a total of 6 persons in our group plus the guide. Our guide Timo did a great job teaching us many things about survival and orientation. We all learnt how to start a fire with the tool, while the other couple also caught a fish. So many things are included in this adventure that you get a full taste of the arctic life. We recommend it.
It's hard not to congratulate our two super guides "Pierre & Loic " who thanks to their talent and the perseverance of Pierre for hunting in the Northern Lights and the discovery of a farm of Rennes Family with sleigh ride and knowledge of the wilderness of Loic, we spent 3 exceptional and fantastic days. We had to do 340 kms at night and go to Sweden to see the Aurora as what the term hunting is well justified. The adventure Artic with Loic took us to the wilderness , to the shores of a frozen lake , or to fish 80 cm of ice had to be pierced . After learning orientation and a small fire without matches or lighters , we devoured the excellent sausages planned in case of unsuccessful fishing , which was the case. The Hyppolyte guide was able to take the excursion with a master's hand and even taught us how to survive in hostile environments and to stock up on food thanks to his remarkable fishing techniques despite a lake covered by a frozen layer for several centimeters! Superb adventure accompanied by Jeremy. A snowshoe walk, embellished with many explanations intended to orientate with a compass and a map and discover the forest around us. A stopover ice fishing, learning how to make fires in different ways, practical and interesting information about the environment around us, a break around the fire with the local food (a good sausage)! Beautiful outing with Timo. Lots of kindness and precision in the explanations. A very nice Mood plus precise information on survival techniques in the middle of the tundra. Special mention for the Belgian-Belgian discussion on field hockey. I know, it has nothing to do with it. But it was fun!

We made 2 trips with Nordic Odyssey and both were beautiful. The first was the reindeer + sled dogs combo with our guide Justine who was great. The 2 farms were human sized, we were in a small group and the lunch was excellent. Really beautiful memories and an amazing experience. The second was the Arctic adventure with our guide Jeremy who has a lot of knowledge and is also very nice. We learned a lot about life in nature, and the snowshoeing + ice fishing + campfire experience is very nice! There were only 2 of us so we enjoyed it even more. Really a great agency where guides speak French and in small groups. Highly recommended!
