An excellent way to experience snowshoe walks in a forested area next to a frozen lake. Enjoyed hot chocolate and sausages in a teepee by the frozen lake. as well. No complaints, thoroughly enjoyed it

Viola was an excellent guide, enthusiastic and helpful. We had such a good time, crunching over the sparkling snow in snowshoes and enjoying the views of the endless forest. It was fascinating to walk out onto the frozen lake, and we ended the trip by building a fire to toast sausages. A great way to start our visit to Lapland.
Amazing activity!!! It was probably our favorite during our trip to Rovaniemi. It’s a small-group excursion (8 people), which makes it very enjoyable. The hike is easy, with magnificent landscapes. Despite the very low temperatures (-21°C), we didn’t feel the cold during the effort. The guide was really friendly and gave us explanations about the environment. We ended the walk around a fire with a hot drink, chocolate, and marshmallows. We recommend it 100% 😁
Beautiful trip in the wilderness. Antanatas was a wonderful guide-made the experience so enjoyable. Small group size was great. Ended with lunch over the fire. Would do this again or recommend to others.
Thanks to our tour guide Lola who was very friendly and professional, I had a wonderful and excellent experience in Lapland winter wonderland ! First snow-shoe hiking ! A very nice and fun group, too ! Everything was just perfect and I would definitely recommend this tour ! That was amazing.
This was an incredible experience, absolutely recommend! Our guide Noah was very kind and knowledgeable, and made sure the group was comfortable through the trip. 10/10 experience.
Recommended. We went snowshoeing and ice fishing on the frozen lake. The trip was well organised and the guide was helpful in providing explanations. The group was not very large (there were 8 of us) and the trip was very enjoyable overall despite the very cold temperatures (-20°C).
Excellent day. First time hiking in snowshoes and our guides gave us a good challenging path with spectacular scenery. To end it off the Yurt fire and BBQ was great. Absolutely loved this outing it was perfect.
Anna (or Ana?) is a very gracious and passionate guide. She really knows her stuff about outdoors (wildlife, hiking and being out in the wild). It was a good cardio leg workout :) Wild about Lapland was very accommodating of our request to change pick up and drop off locations
It was a beautiful experience spending couple of hours in the forest with snowshoes and then drink an hot drink and eating a sausage, our guide was a Spanish girl very nice !
Absolutely amazing! Belencita was an amazing tour guide. She showed us how to use the snowshoe, took care of everyone’s speed, showed us how to light fire and got some sausages and hot drinks. She was really energetic and keen to help us get the entire experience. We just felt may be we could have spent more time in the wilderness. P.s. she clicks amazing photos!
Fun activity. Everything went smoothly: hotel pick up, drive, fitting boots, snow shoes, nice hike and lapish BBQ.
We spent two hours with Santi, our guide, walking in the snow west of Rovaniemi. We climb enough to have a view on the horizon, and that was an amazing one. Snow, animals' print, different type of tree, Santi was able to explain everything. In winter, walking in the snow in Finland is easy for everybody, but it's not the same to discover the Wilderness with a very good guide in a good company. We will all kept memories of this walk all our life. Thanks a lot.
The meet-up was at the Wild about Lapland office. We were only 4 people including the guide, which was very nice. There, we were equipped with specific boots that fit the snowshoes and winter-proof overalls if needed. We drove for about 25min outside of Rovaniemi where we got an introduction to the snowshoes and then started walking. The walk took us up a little hill and then down to a teepee with an amazing view. There we made break to make an open fire and we had sausages, coffee and snacks. After the break it was a short walk back to the car. The activity took us about 3 hours in total. The whole walk was very nice, especially thanks to our guide, Tyler. He made the walk very special with little stories about Finnish nature and he made us feel very welcome and safe during the walk.
We went on a lovely walk in the wilderness. We started off by walking over a bridge with a great view all around. Our guid Guille told us lots of interesting information about the environment we were walking through. He was very knowledgeable about the trees and animals in Finland. We then got to a lookout spot and had a great view. Guille helped to take photos and make sure we were safe when going down the stairs from the lookout. We then walked more and stopped to have a fire and a snack. Guille was very good at having an interesting conversation and provided good food. I would highly recommend Guille as a guide for anyone.
This is the best activity I have in Rovaniemi😆 The guide and his partner(yolk?) are kind and helpful. The view in the wood is breathtaking. Really recommend this trip and have a good experience through it.
The location was about 30 mins from the office, where we met. It was a nice, beginner-friendly hike, even kids could do it. We went to a tipi, where we had options, either stay there with the tour guide or go for a walk (I choose this). The forest is beautiful with the trees covered in fresh snow. I recommend wearing waterproof shoes and skiing pants because sometimes we sank deep into the snow. After we went back to the tipi, where the guide prepared hot chocolate/tea and sausages at the fire (they had vegetarian option too). The tour guide was very friendly, and also told us some interesting informations about Lapland and showed us how to set a campfire.
It was simply beautiful. After a short ride we got to the spot. Ajda, our guide, helped us with the gear and then snowshoeing was on. It was a very pleasant hike to the little tent. Ajda encouraged us to explore around or just enjoy the view, while she set up fire, hot drinks and sausages. It was an awesome experience that I wouldn't mind doing again.
We did a snowshoe hike 15min from Rovaniemi with Theo. The hike was great, the guide was great, in short it was a wonderful experience! Thanks again Theo :)
Bozo is a very knowledgeable and nice guide. We had a 2-3 hours snowshoe experience walking inside the forest and by the lake. The scene was extraordinarily beautiful in winter time. Bozo showed us how to wear snowshoes, how to make fire in forests and grill sausages. It was a great short fun trip!
I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to Wild About Lapland. We found them very helpful and enthusiastic in wanting to ensure we enjoyed our holiday experience. Theo, the 10km self drive husky sleigh ride into tHe wilderness was nothing short of fantastic! The experience was absolutely exhilarating and wild! Wow! Serena our guide, you r just fantastic and patient ...thank you. Chris, the 4km walk you took us through the woodlands was very educational. Your understanding of nature and it’s survival through a changing world climate and how we as a people can assist surely did open the minds of us city sleekers! We strongly recommend the activities Theo and the Team have put together. Once again, thanks for helping us make our holiday special. Jose n Cheryl
The snowshoe hike with carry was a great experience. We were a small group with only 5 people and Carry had everything perfectly organized. We hiked about 1 h 45 min through nature. Afterwards, Carry lit a fire in a yurt on which we grilled sausages and bread, along with tea and hot chocolate. An all-round successful excursion!
Una actividad muy buena y la guía muy amable , estuvo al pendiente de todos tofo el tiempo y nos explicaba muy bien
Beautiful nature walk in the forest with our guide Atanas, he was kind and attentive. Very professional he provided us with many explanations about the environment and answered all our questions with great precision. We ended our hike at a quiet pace around a barbecue in a friendly atmosphere, a beautiful experience and a beautiful meeting. Very good memory. I recommend 100%.
. Je ne connaissais pas la randonnée en raquette Pouvoir marcher sur un lac gelé était surprenant J'ai beaucoup apprécié le feu de camp avec les snacki et le chocolat Je remercie Maxime pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité
We had a very cool snowshoe hike in a small group. Ruben, our guide, led our trip very well and gave us a very nice hike. During the hike he provided us with information about Finnish culture and the north. The atmosphere was great and we can definitely recommend Wild about Lapland!
The activity "hiking" is actually limited to 2 times 10 minutes walk between the parking lot and the BBQ tipie, round trip and return. So disappointing for hikers, but accessible to any public. The decor is simply splendid. The white of the sky and snow merge. The silence is deafening. The welcoming, professional and pleasant guide.
