Just an incredible tour with Juho on his family's reindeer farm with nonstop highlights all morning - feeding the reindeer, watching Juho's father interact with the herd, enjoying homemade pancakes and berry jams made by Juho's mother Liisa, and getting to walk the adorable Noppe in the forest. Loved that White Winter Lapland is a working, non-touristy farm that lets their reindeer live as they wish without forcing them to do anything (even the walk), and that the family works the farm themselves and were happy to share nuggets on reindeer herding and life in Lapland with us. Would love to visit again some day!

From start to finish this was by far the best experience we had in Finland. This is our second trip to Finland this year & we have fallen in love with this beautiful reindeer farm. We were welcomed like family by Juhos wonderful parents , the farm is so personal, peaceful & a very special place to be in nature with these amazing animals that steal your heart. They definitely calm your mind & have such gentle souls . They are so well cared for and the family are so passionate about their work. We learned so much about the reindeer here and our son got to walk a lovely reindeer through beautiful scenery , the highlight of his holiday. After this we went to relax in a beautiful wooden cabin where we were invited to have some homemade pancakes with very tasty cloudberry Jam & hot blueberry juice . If you go to Lapland, this is one experience that you have to do , this is for everyone young or old. The only thing we didn’t like was leaving but we will definitely return. This was the highlight of our trip to Rovaniemi!! A family run business and we were made to feel a part of their family. The host was very easy company, knowledgeable and cares about his animals. The hosts mum cooked us homemade pancakes, jam and juice. She was so welcoming and warm and easy to talk to. The reindeer were cared for well and absolutely gorgeous. We will aim to return again, if we can.

Hands down the best reindeer experience we could have asked for. It was just my friend and I! Juho's family owns the reindeer farm, and they it was all hand built. His mother Liisa picked us up. She was instantly warm and welcoming and we got to know the history of the family farm and reindeer in Finland on the car ride over, fed the reindeer and she made us some pancakes and her home made jams and pancakes by a fire. We had a lovely walk through the forest with the reindeer after. It was an absolute pleasure spending the day at Winter Lapland and we highly recommend it! It is the perfect representation of a beautiful reindeer farm lifestyle and his entire family made us feel very at home.

We had an amazing time at White Winter farm. We got to meet and feed so many beautiful reindeer. We were given lots of information about them, and the farm. We were then invited to sit in their kota, and spend time with the whole family. We were treated to delicious homemade pancakes, jam and juice. The highlight for me, was taking one of the young reindeer out for a walk through the fields. What a special experience! The guide and his family warmly welcomed the guests. It felt as cozy and comforting as visiting a friend’s home. The experience of feeding snacks to the reindeer on the snowy field and walking through the winter forest with an adorable young reindeer was truly special. It was a beautiful and healing time for the heart. I highly recommend it!

It was just amazing! Amazing family! We were surrounded pure warmth and care! All tours was very relaxed! In the midst of a series of hectic vacation days, it was truly a day of rest. Great people, house made food and drinks! Hand made pancakes, jam and juice from local berries! Friendly talks, a lot of attention and care!! Nice to see all animals treated with love. We could fees them and walk with they! I wish all the best to this wonderful people! I hardly recommend to book this tour if you want to meet good people and see pure life of reindeers ( without commercial influence)!

The farm owners showed us the whole farm and explained everything to us. They were always open for questions, and gave us a really warm and friendly welcome. We had a good impression of how the reindeers are living there and living a good life in space and peace. It didn‘t feel like we were strangers on a tour but visiting old friends. We would really recommend this experience!

Super genuine people, with such a down to earth and wonderful experience. Authentic family-run reindeer farm, so many friendly reindeer to meet and hand feed. Small group sizes make it so personal. Amazing home-made food and great little hut. You get your own walk with one of two reindeer, not crowed by others and just great personal moment. Anyone looking for an authentic reindeer farm please read on !!!! We booked with White winter Lapland It worked out about £80 per person booked direct We were picked up by Juho from our apartment in rovaniemi and he took us to his family’s reindeer farm about 40 minute drive through some stunning scenery He chatted along the way about the farm , his family and Finland We got to get up close and personal with the reindeers , had feed them and have plenty of opportunities for photos We met his mum and dad who were lovely , his mum provided us with blueberry juice and pancakes all home made and his dad showed us how the markings on the ears were made We warmed up in the lovely kota , talked about life both here and in England We then took one of the reindeers for a walk through a beautiful forest , no rush , no noise , just pure bliss We then warmed back up in the Kota and had more snacks ! We got given a very special souvenir to keep ! Juho then drove us back ti our apartment The whole experience lasted 4 hours We were the only family there , it was amazing You could clearly tell how much love and care goes into the reindeer This is a relatively new company so I was a bit sceptical but honestly the best thing we have done since we got here I already want to go back !

The most magical and wonderful experience, a true highlight of our trip. The kids would rate it 6 stars if they could. The farm is simply lovely, in the middle of nowhere you feel at one with nature. I wanted something that wasn’t commercial, but represented the true Lapland - and that’s what I got! Juho simply couldn’t do enough for us throughout the trip, and his mother and father were so welcoming. We had freshly made pancakes and blueberry juice in the sweetest hut, it is a memory we will never forget. You know you just meet people and they leave a lasting impression - that’s his family, they are wonderful. I wished we could have spent longer at the farm, it was so authentic. The reindeer are the sweetest and so gentle. As a vegan, the care of the reindeer’s was important to me and it’s very obvious they have a wonderful life with this family- they are very much loved. Book this trip, you won’t regret it!

Thinking about doing this…. Just do it! A wonderful authentic reindeer farm in the middle of nowhere, hosted by a fantastic family who have owned it for 50 years. Seeing the reindeer’s in a natural environment was so lovely, the kids adored it. The family couldn’t be more welcoming and kind. We got to spend time with the reindeer and learn about their life. As a vegan animal welfare was important to me, and I could see how loved the reindeer are by the family. A definite highlight of the trip! Juho was an amazing host- thank you so much!

The visit to the reindeer farm was a beautiful and special experience. We had the opportunity to get to know the animals, feed them and then go for a walk together with the reindeer. The local people were very friendly, open and took a lot of time to answer all questions about the animals and Finland in general. Particularly positive is the great focus on the welfare of the animals - you immediately notice that they work here with a lot of responsibility and heart. An absolutely recommendable visit, which we would recommend at any time!

The best experience feeding and walking reindeer with the kindest family. It wasn't touristy, which we appreciated. We had homemade pancakes and blueberry juice waiting for us by the fire, and enjoyable conversation all around. Highly recommend!

I felt like home. Despite my poor English, we talked for about an hour in the cottage with fire. The owners of the farm are very nice and friendly. We learned a lot of interesting things. Honestly just book! This was an amazing experience with such lovely people. An ethical family farm. You won’t be disappointed. The views are magical and you will feel like you have just stepped into a winter wonderland without all the commercialisation.

The reindeer farm visit and walking tour must be the best tour we’ve ever booked. It was absolutely magical. We don’t know what was better; the adorable reindeer that you get to learn about, feed and then walk or the family behind the tour. They served us homemade pancakes and hot homemade blueberry juice while we were warming up around fire in a kota. It was incredible to talk to them and learn about their way of living. The tour felt very unique and personal which we loved. We would absolutely love to visit again and 100% recommend this tour to everyone!

What a fantastic tour! I cannot recommend this enough if you want a more authentic experience with reindeer and the people who herd them. Juho and his family are so warm and welcoming and knowledgeable, and his dad has been herding reindeer for 50 years, so they are quite authentic. Many other options I saw for reindeer experiences around Rovaniemi seemed quite commercial, with large groups of people being pulled on a sleigh for a few minutes. I wanted something more authentic, and that is exactly what I got. I got to walk around the farm and help feed the reindeer, of course taking as many pictures as I want. Then warm up by the fire and Juho’s mom made me a gluten free pancake with homemade jam, which I really appreciated. After that, we took their friendliest reindeer on a walk in the untouched forest, which was quite a wonderful and beautiful experience. A handful of other reindeer followed along with our walk as well. I enjoyed that the reindeer get to just do what they want, and I liked seeing them in their natural habitat. Afterwards we again warmed up by the fire and we all chatted, learning about the reindeer and what it is like to herd them, and generally about life in this area. I cannot recommend enough if you are looking for a more authentic, less commercial experience.

From when our host picked us up until we arrived back in Rovaniemi over three hours later everything about this tour was authentic. On the drive to the reindeer farm, our host told us about the history of his family's reindeer farm, what we could expect from our visit and spoke to us about the laws governing reindeer herding. When we arrived at the reindeer farm, the reindeer gradually approached looking for food. Our host demonstrated and explained how to hand feed the reindeer. Being able to stand in amongst the reindeer herd and hand feed them was very memorable. Our host's parents greeted us while we were feeding the reindeer and when we got cold, we were welcomed into a small hut where hot drinks, hot food and a roaring wood fire awaited us. We spent time in conversation with the reindeer farmers learning more about how they look after the reindeer. After warming up, we walked through a private secluded forest leading one of the reindeer. We followed the reindeer tracks through the deep snow in the forest and stopped occasionally to listen. The forest was completely silent. The only noises came from us and the reindeer that we were leading. This was a fantastic experience and so unique from anything offered by any other tour operator in Rovaniemi. We highly recommend this memorable tour to anybody who is seeking an authentic reindeer experience.

This has been my favorite tour in Rovaniemi. I wanted to have a reindeer experience but many seemed quite commercial and hectic. This was a perfect few hours of peace and quiet, first driving through a snowy landscape with the prettiest sky, then stepping out into the farm with the reindeer who were wary, curious, hungry, each having their own personalities. I will treasure the memory of walking the reindeer Nuupe (I think, not sure spelling) through the forest, spotting fox and reindeer tracks, and coming out onto golden sunlight. The other visitors on the tour were so happy and sweet as well. Many thanks to Juho and his parents who may truly be the kindest people I have ever met. I almost feel like his mother Liisa saw straight into my heart and Ioved talking with her fireside in the kota. Juho is a professional and exceptional guide and I hope to return one day and take another tour with White Winter Lapland. Thank you so much, gamsahabnida, kiitos.

What an amazing experience, with the loveliest of people, in a stunning environment. I visited the farm with my adult daughter and we both had a wonderful time learning about reindeer, spending time with them and feeding them, and taking a walk with Muppe, the funniest of all reindeers! The drive there itself was like a gateway into a world of incomparable natural beauty. The cherry on top was sitting down with our hosts around the fire, eating delicious pancakes and drinking homemade warm blueberry juice, and chatting about family, football, pets (including reindeers of course), as if we had been friends forever. Unforgettable. A must do.

I loved everything about the Reindeer Farm with Juho. The group met the reindeers, and we were able to feed them before Juho took a small group out at a time to walk one of the reindeers. The rest of us enjoyed the company of Juho's mum and dad, in a small hut with a lovely fire to keep us warm, homemade Finnish pancakes, berry jam and a hot berry drink The scenery was amazing, the reindeers were well looked after, Juho was a great, answered any questions we had and was there to make sure we had a lovely time. What a wonderful and genuine experience this is! We had a relaxing morning on the family run farm feeding reindeer and then a walk in the snow covered forest with our new reindeer friend Nuupe. Homemade snacks afterwards were delicious around the fire in a warmed hut with the family. If you have any interest in reindeer beyond sleighing and looking for a less hectic half day, I would recommend this highly. One of our favourite outings of our stay in Rovaniemi, we want to come back, thank you!

We had a very nice morning at the reindeer farm. Very nice and authentic family. The walk with the reindeer was the greatest experience for our kids in Rovaniemi.

Today we visited White Winter Lapland and what a welcome change of pace from our other experiences in and around Rovaniemi. If you're searching for a taste of the 'real Lapland' this is not to be missed. Don't get me wrong the sparkle of Rovaniemi's many attractions mostly live up to expectations, but despite the crowds (and, at times, overt commercialism) our kids still got a kick out of all things Christmas here. However, this trip was without doubt the highlight for us. Led by a third generation reindeer farmer, Juho, we were taken to a serene and welcoming farm ~45mins outside of Rovaniemi. The location was as you would expect, beautiful snow shrouded forest in every direction, blanketed by a slight fog that lent an additional level of calm. We were introduced to the herd - a traditional part-wild group, initially skittish around new people, but with a brave few who warmed up to the promise of food. In time four or five were coming closer to be hand fed, at times bumping each other out of the way for tasty lichen treats. After the kids had fed and introduced themselves to many of the brave half-wild herd, it was time to take one of the tamer reindeer for a walk, following a track through fields and forest, cajoling our new friend along with lichen here and there. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient and kind, answering all the possible questions a 10, 8 & 5 year old can conjure - and there were many! Returning from our walk to a cosy hut, with a fire, warm drinks, and home made tasty treats for the humans, along with Liisa, Juho's mother, and interesting insights into her journey to life in the country, was equally comforting and fascinating. We could have stayed all day! We'd give it an extra star if we could!

They don’t officially open until December but we contacted them for an early winter visit and they were happy to help. This reindeer farm was cosy and quiet, middle of nature. The reindeer were nice and very liked by our children. The guide/owner was friendly. He shared stories and dropped some reindeer history as it runs in their family. I can imagine this being better during winter but nevertheless, we enjoeyd it a lot. Very authentic experience and affordable aswell. They pick you up from the centre so it’s convenient. Recommended!

It was just wonderful. Anyone coming to Rovaniemi should definitely go to this reindeer farm. The family, the reindeer and the beautiful unspoilt nature. It was an unforgettable experience. I can only recommend it to anyone to book this tour. Liisa and her son have told us a lot about their animals and you can tell they love what they do. I hope I can come back sometime.
