Riisitunturi Snow Monsters Winter Hike From Rovaniemi With Lunch

This winter hike to see the famous snow monsters in Riisitunturi National Park was unquestionably my happiest day during my trip to Finland. Our guide (inside the picture )was absolutely wonderful and thoughtful from the very start. He immediately noticed we were not dressed warmly enough and lent us proper winter gear to keep us safe in the freezing temperature. During the barbecue lunch break, he kindly grilled sausages for all of us. We had such a lovely chat along the trail, and he shared his beautiful story about meeting his wife while hiking in the mountains. The whole journey was full of laughter, he was very encouraging and brought amazing positive energy to our group. A sentence he said to me still stays with me now that I’m back in Hong Kong: whenever you feel frustrated and overwhelmed, think about the peace and calm you feel out hiking in nature. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Finland. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience!

It was an amazing experience! Everything was great from start to finish. The guide - Jake - was the best – very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He shared a lot of interesting information and answered all questions with ease. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend it!

My husband and I joined the trip to Riisitunturi National Park with Book Lapland. Our guide, Arthur, made this experience unforgettable. We spend a few hours walking through the snowy landscape of the national park and admiring trees covered in snow. We ended our experience on a bonfire, preparing our sausages and chatting with other members of the group. Arthur brought a generous amount of supplies, including marshmallows. We really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere that he created, and the views of frozen trees are quite otherworldly. The walk itself was quite light and easy for anyone to do, but bring a warm jacket. Overall, great experience, definitely recommend.

This was an absolutely perfect trip. We saw the amazing snow monster scenery and a beautiful blue-pink sky. Our guide was excellent too. It’s well worth a visit.

Fantastic tour in the middle of the stunning Arctic wilderness. We had Toni as our guide who was fantastic from start to finish - answering questions and sharing extra information about Finland, the animals and the views. Cooking our lunch over an open fire just added to the experience and would highly recommend this trip and touring with Toni himself!

Great hike, not strenuous (and im usually bad at basic hikes). Stunning beauty, so worth it. And our guide Juan was amazing- he told us facts about the tundra flora & fauna, paced us well and took great photos of us as well!!

This is a 2 hour 1.5 KM Mountain Hike in the snow and the most magical experience and stunning views. Our host Erwin made it very special with lots of interesting additional info and went at a leisurely pace with plenty of opportunities to take photos. It’s easy to do and you can hire all the equipment you need that’s included in the price. Had a lovely BBQ on a real fire afterwards and Erwin let us help with making the fire. Superb experience and a must do for your stay in Lapland.

The hike was stunning and it was fun to have lunch midway. Samuli was a great guide! The drive is quite far from Rovaniemi, it was worth it but just be prepared to spend several hours in the van each way.

The Riisitunturi Snow Monsters Tour & Campfire BBQ was absolutely breathtaking. The snow-covered trees looked magical, like something from a winter fairytale, and the views were incredible. Mirco made the experience truly special. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very kind throughout the hike. He shared fascinating information about the park and Arctic nature, while making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. The campfire BBQ was cozy and well organized, and once again, Mirco took amazing professional-quality photos for us — memories we’ll treasure forever. If you’re in Rovaniemi, this tour is a must — and Mirco is an outstanding guide!

We had a lovely walk with Jake he was our guide he was super nice and really chatty the food was amazing 😍 and he brought marshmallows the walk was a good one not to hard and the views.were amazing.

It was amazing our tour guide was Jake he was amazing, very lit and very funny and matched everyones vibe! He exmplained everything about the environment and the trees. We had a great experience in this trip with Mirco. The hiking was beautiful, informative and fun! He took professional pictures and explained a little bit of history. Lastly, we had a great choripan experience afterwards and warmed up in the fire. The cherry on top is that we had the chance to even see an Aurora. Recommended!

This was our first time joining your company’s local tour. We participated the Riisitunturi National park hiking tour with the guide Mirco Belardoni, from Book Lapland. We initially joined with a mind of trial, but to our surprise, during the experience we truly felt the greatest joy of traveling. This was entirely thanks to our guide, Mirco, who provided such attentive, patient, and heartfelt service to his guests, and also provided professional photos as memorable keepsakes. The tour was absolutely wonderful. I have only been to a few places with such beautiful nature and breathtaking views. Arthur was the perfect guide, very well prepared, yet at the same time flexible in adapting the tour. Please be aware of the extreme cold. We experienced temperatures of around -20°C, and at the top of the mountain, due to the wind, the perceived temperature was significantly lower. Therefore, it is highly recommended to use the clothing provided by the organizers. All in all, we had an amazing time, and I highly recommend not missing the opportunity to visit Riisitunturi. — Sebastian P.

Great tour! Our guide Samuli was very nice and accommodating. There were even vegetarian sausages for me to grill. However, I find the tour very expensive, for actually hiking "only" 4km in the national park and having a small BBQ. The round trip is 2h each.

A magical hike in unreal landscapes. The "Snow Monsters" are impressive and the organization by Book Lapland is on top, with a very comforting lunch. Thanks to our great guide Juan. I highly recommend for photos!

Our Tomas guide was great, we took a walk in this beautiful park, with a grill break (food included). We were able to take the time to admire the landscape and take pictures. I recommend!

The scenery was beautiful but we are a little disappointed with what was announced. The Finnish meal comes down to a sausage bread and marshmallows toast. No problem in principle but the bread was dry, no hot drinks, and all on a corner table.
