Reindeer Safari In Arctic Wilderness

It’s a very nice opportunity to see reindeers from a very close proximity and get the chance to feed them 🥰. Then there is a sleigh with the reindeers which isn’t too long and it’s an easy path - the reindeers are treated with lots of care from the staff. Staff also made sure the guests were mindful of reindeers’ movements and behaviour to keep both parties safe and fit! Our tour guide - Shan was such a friendly and helpful person, taking pictures of us with the ride and also taking care of dropping us safe in our drop off locations. Part of the tour was a visit in a very cozy shelter with an amazing fireplace in the middle - we were given cinnamon buns, warm juices and lots of useful information on the reindeers and their lifecycle. One of the most interesting I found is the life expectancy of the reindeers and how age doesn’t really matter, but it’s based on their personality! During winter time the reindeers are kept in farms and during summer time, they are free to move around anywhere and do whatever they like! Oh, forgot to mention the reindeer driving license to get on your way out which is valid for 5 years .. which means we have to visit again in 5 years to renew it! How cool 😍😻 - Although we think we will visit sooner than that 😍

It was a very nice trip. We learned something new about rendeere. The sledge ride was not so impressive but we booked the short tour just one day before - maybe the longer tour would offer some better experience? Our guide Marta was very friendly and save driver.

I loved my trip with Mari, she is a wonderful entertaning tour guide! The farm was a nice location we could feed the animals, if yoi wanna pet ask for Manu deer!

We visited the reindeer farm today with our family (2 adults, 2 kids), and it was an amazing experience! Paula, our driver and guide, was absolutely wonderful – attentive, caring, and professional throughout the visit. She made sure that even during a simple but heartwarming activity like feeding and petting the animals, our family could truly enjoy the moments together. A huge thank you to Paula and the whole organizing team for making this such a memorable and well-coordinated experience. Highly recommended!

The tour was really fantastic. We took part in the nice reindeer safari trip. We have got so many intresting information about the reindeers. We could sledge one round with nice reindeers. everything was well organized. Pick-up at our house (in the center of Rovaniemi) at the correct time. Nice people who welcomed us. Beautiful nature-experience. And afterwards a lot of explanation about the reindeers. This was both a great experience and very informative too. Our son, who is physically disabled joined the trip. This was not a problem at all.

No fun, no client orientation Due to unexpeted CoronaTravel restrictions we had to postpone our trip and kindly ask for a refund or rebooking possibility. Also a finnish friend called then on our behalf. Only hard business interest or rather ripping off people in an unfavorable situation was the outcome. Avoid sunny Safari!

Picked up on time, brought to a beautiful reindeer farm, we chose the long ride, it was chilly as your not moving whilst being pulled on sleigh so pack hand warmers!! Then taken to a log fire hut, given hot juice and biscuits and ride home. It was stunning! Well worth a visit!

It was great as experience, our driver was great! It’s a must do if you visito rovaniemi. The landscape it’s incredible! If you can take the first car!

We booked 2 tours with Sunny Safari: „Reindeer Safari in Arctic Wilderness“ and „Searching Aurora with Snowmobile“. Maciej from Poland was our guide for the reindeer safari and I can say that he was great! He helped us find a parking space, he was patient and gave us a lot of information about the tours and the animals. It turned out that we`ve picked up the wrong tour but Maciej advised us what would be better to book. I totally recommend him. For the snowmobile safari our guide was Niko. He was also very helpful and informative and he made sure we`re having a good time. The tour agency overall is very good – nice tours, office with central location and kind staff. They provided us with clothes for cold weather and we were feeling warm.

The best experience we had on our trip to Lapland. We arrived at the Sunny safari office in Rovaniemi, and met our guide, Maciej. He took good care of us and gave us warm snow suits to wear, which we found out later was a good idea, since the sleigh ride is very cold. Maciej was so nice and welcoming, and he told us a lot of fun facts about reindeer life. The sleigh ride was beyond amazing, it was so calm and beautiful to drive around in the snow. The ride was fairly long, so you have enough time to take pictures and enjoy the nature. All in all a beautiful experience, and the people from Sunny safari were so nice! Highly recommend! We were well looked after and kitted out in warm gear. Everyone was warm and welcoming and very informative as well as being patient when there were small kids in tow

It was interesting and lovely to see reindeer and experience a short (but more than long enough in the cold) sleigh ride around a circuit in the forest. The reindeers and sleighs are all tied together so only the lead guide drives so you can relax and watch the antics of the reindeers and reindeer dogs. It is safe for everyone as we travelled at a gentle speed. And enjoyed warming up in the beautiful big cabin where we got to ask questions. Note that many operators bring you to the same place after fitting you out with their warm clothes so it’s not like there are lots of reindeer places to visit. If you want more thrill and speed the husky mushing 1.5hr circuit was great fun.

We did the Reindeer Safari in arctic Wilderness and I truly recommend it. The guide is really nice and explained us a lot of things. The reindeers are really cute and the ride through the snowy forest is just magic! True Lapland!

We booked a visit to a reindeer farm with a 500m reindeer sled ride. We were picked up on time by Maciej and Niko. They were engaging and answered many questions such that we were well informed on reindeers before visiting the farm. They also took good care of us during the whole trip. We were so impressed with their service that we went on to book a snowmobile safari and a husky ride with Sunny Safaris. Many thanks to Maciej and Niko for the great experience!

The tour cona sled lasts 1 hour, it was very pleasant, it is in the middle of the woods

Belle expérience !! Superbe promenade en traîneau puis explications sur leur mode de vie autour d’une petite collation. Bonne organisation avec prise en charge depuis notre hôtel. Isadora notre guide francophone était très sympathique et nous a bien tout expliqué et était de bon conseil.

Guide très sympa et aux petits soins mais ne parlant pas français alors que j'avais demandé cette excursion avec un guide parlant français. Cadre de la promade exceptionnel. Hôtes accueillants. Trop peu de temps et de contacts avec les rennes. Moment convivial très agréable après la promenade.

A great experience! Our guide Fernando lovely! He explained everything great and very friendly! The excursion is worth it, it is a very pleasant time and for the children very enjoyable! A good idea to contract with you!

Ferme super sympa , ballade très longue dans la foret très agréable pour fuir le tourisme mais couvrez vous il fait froid ! Le guide est super sympa qui explique bien tout les détails sur les rênes et le petit thé chaud est très agréable !!! ATTENTION à l'organisation : le rdv à l’hôtel est fixé jusqu'à 1h avant !!! Vous en êtes informé à la réservation puis après vous recevez que l'heure de l'activité par viator ce qui peu poser pblm...

This was too touristy. Maybe the tour guide had arranged it well, but for us as tourists it was not clear what we would do when. In the description it was described that we would also learn to throw lasso. None of this came back during the tour, as far as this was a tour.
