Ranua Zoo Tour, Optional Lunch

Hotel pickup on time, our guide was great, full of information and not just about the zoo. Loved the zoo, had plenty of time to walk around and eat afterwards.

Very pleasant day! Unfortunately many of the animals were not able to be seen. We had a guide Eero who was fantastic! He is a local who grew up in the Lapland. He was a wealth of information and knowledge about the animals, the land, and the culture.

It’s a very nice zoo featuring cold weather animals.. we were unable to see all the animals due to the season. Eero … our guide.. more than made up for that. A Lapland native, he is a wealth of information about the land, the people, and the environment.

We had light snow on our visit, and this adds to the charm of walking around. Such pretty scenery helps compensate for not seeing a few of the animals, i.e. set yourself some realistic expectations for a winter visit. Our driver Dimitri was also good company as we walked around.

The zoo trip was great in particular they had snow compared to where we were in santa village. This allowed us to have a snowball fight, snow angels and build snow men which up to that point we wernt able to do. The zoo itself is different to conventional zoos where there are huge enclosures for the animals. We saw about half the animals as during winter some of them were asleep. The sweet shop there is very reasonable priced in comparison to santavillage where the same box sweets were 5e in zoo n 16e in santa village. The gift shop n resteraunt have a huge selection of food. Our tour guide was so accomdatiing and even gave us extra time in the zoo to have some snow fun. We have a very good time and found the trip very good.

We had a wonderful guide/driver. She was so nice and great to chat with too! The zoo is amazing as well, so spacious!

The guide was very on time and took us to the zoo, enjoy around though we did not see the polar bear , while there are various of owls as well. Recommended to go on a nice zoo trip in September!

Really nice experience by Normunds. We was picked up from our hotel, then explained about the day and drive in very comfortable van to the zoo. On the way we saw reindeer’s in wildlife. Was so amazing. Then we arrived at the zoo, was guided where is everything and then we could explore the zoo without the rush. Our toddler really loved it as he could see so many animals close to the fence. Was great family day. After the walk in zoo we went to eat in buffet and it was very nice and warm lunch. Then we had free time to go and play in kids play park. It was really great, everything was clear and guided and the drive didn’t feel long. Normand is professional and very kind person! Thank you!

Rare animals to be seen there. It was cold, but it worth it. We sepent like 2 hours going through the park and seeing the animals.

Really nice tour. We had very polite and knowledgeable lady guide and really comfortable vehicle. On the way to zoo we saw reindeers and fox. Thanks to our guide that we had flexible time for lunch and shopping. For regular tour- excellent service.

Guide was great, on time and friendly, got to enjoy the zoo (which was really good) at our own leisure and wasn’t rushed if wanted food afterwards before the journey back. Highly recommend 😀

Paid €110 for a trip to Ranua zoo, not private. This could have been €13 on a bus & €23 on entry. There is 9 benefit to the tour. No mention that nearly all animals won't be visible this time of year (November). & the tour mentions that it is guided, but it is not. You are driven to the zoo, & told to go in, that's it, but you pay a €71 premium, providing no additional value to catching the bus yourself. Big waste of money. Highly advisable to not get this tour. Also got threatened with police after asking for a refund haha

Arnti (not sure if it’s correctly spelled) is a friendly and knowledgeable guide! Tour is as per described! As usual for the zoo visits, we don’t always get to see all the animals they got.. I didn’t get to see the moose, red foxes and brown bears (hibernating in winter). It’s -7degrees on our visit and thankfully we were ready for the weather. Overall a pleasant experience.

Transfer was all fine and everything ran on time. Communication was good, however the package said a guide is provided. We assumed the guide would talk us through the animals at the zoo. The guide left us to explore the zoo on our own, which we didn’t mind but this should’ve been explained in the package we bought and the price should’ve reflected that accordingly.

Our driver gave us such a great tour of the area and made sure we had everything we needed. This tour was awesome!

Great driver and the zoo had some very exciting animals. Please note when travelling during winter that some of the animals are less than active/in hibernation during this time.

The whole tour was interesting. drove by bus with tourists from different countries. managed to get to know each other. it was very fun. The driver explains everything and tells. very good English. I really liked the pack of wolves and the fox. and in general the atmosphere there is like in a fairy tale! Thanks Norcha!👌

It was a lovely experience. Our tour guide Normond was patient and knowledgeable on all, with which we were given helpful tips and had a great day. Even with our little one, he calmly waited for us.

We had a great time, our guide Norman was very helpful and nice. He gave us great tips on activities and attractions around Rovaniemi which made our trip more enjoyable.

Beautiful wildlife park with the magnificent winter scenery, I recomend for families with children. The Santa Village and City Center excursion was nice too, it was cool to meet Santa Claus! And many thanks to our friendly guide Gunita from NortsaV Tours! #nortsavtours

Collected exactly on time from our apartment by nicole, comfortable mini bus to zoo. Just the 2 of us so we were told we could spend as long as we wanted at zoo . This is our second time to the zoo with this company. It's just what we wanted, a journey there and back and we were left to wander on our own. The zoo is great, scenery amazing with the snow, the polar bears were great to see. I cannot comment on lunch as we never ate. If you want a company that is friendly, on time, and comfortable vehicle you cannot go wrong. We had a great day, thank you 🙂

My family and I booked the Ranua Zoo tour with Normund. Pickup and drive was punctual and speedy. When he heard that we were headed back to Saariselka from Rovaniemi after the zoo trip, he offered to drive us at a very reasonable price, and was able to accommodate our request to drop by the Artikum museum before the drive. As it was a rare clear night, we were also able to arrange an impromptu Northern lights hunt with him and managed to catch the elusive lights (as the weather had been quite cloudy for those 2 weeks). He is knowledgeable about the best places and conditions in which to catch the lights and I would strongly recommend him as a guide. He also took very nice photos of us with the aurora Borealis and sent them to us at no additional charge. Highly recommended!

La atención fue extraordinaria, puntual, se nos explicaba que hacer, muy amable y además pacientes. Nos ayudaban a entender que había, donde comer y nos dieron nuestros tiempos para poder conocer el zoo con toda tranquilidad.

Conocer el Oso polar y los lobos, todos los animalitos hermosos, muy bien cuidados. El recorrido es fácil y amigable.

We can only advise everyone against it. We bought a trip + tickets. The next day the driver didn't show up. A driver from another provider then called the driver, who then told us that everything had been cancelled. We have not received a call or an email about this. We have not received the money back to this day and have had to contact PayPal. The person is currently not responding to messages from PayPal either. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY HOLIDAYMAKER!!! ABSOLUTELY RUDE!

Very nice family outing we saw all the animals except the polar bears but the setting is magnificent very nice walk in the snowy nature The restaurant offers a good value for money buffet and the pizzas are excellent! Our driver was very kind to allow us the necessary time for the visit and the meal

We made two excursions with the Nortsav, excursion to Ranua Park with lunch and excursion in search of the Northern Lights. For other excursions we have turned to other agencies depending on the availability of places and times. We stayed in rovaniemi in mid-February 2020, ideal for enjoying Finnish Lapland to the fullest as it is not a busy time of tourists. Normund was an excellent guide and driver both regarding the zoological park where we also booked the lunch option (really convenient), and regarding the evening outing in search of the aurora where he took us to a magnificent point to enjoy The view of the Northern Lights where he also has a support (small cottage) for colder times. He organized a bonfire where he prepared a small Nick pick and took magnificent photographs of us with the lights of the Northern Lights behind us! Quality really great price, much cheaper than many other tourist agencies! Well organized, even his assistant is very nice and helpful. We can only recommend it.
