We got the sauna in the forest without the Jacuzzi, but I couldn’t find it in the options. It was an experience that left me emotionally confused. Our guide and instructor Mimi is certainly the coolest person we’ve met so far in Finland. The “one star” is for her because she’s truly a star and tried to help us in every possible way, and this company should give her a raise and some pizza for being such a great host and person and they’re lucky to have her. Other than that the experience was not good. Our sauna was not burning when we got in, and Mimi turned it on, however it takes plenty of time to get the space warm and make people sweat. We were given more time but I can say that we were sitting in the sauna for an hour and I have had experience more sweating during June in Greece. For this reason it was impossible to jump into the lake which was a dream of mine for quite some time. A dream I had to abandon because of poor management. It would have been so easy to simply have someone check on the saunas before groups arrive, but apparently the company employs different processes. Due to the sauna issues there was plenty of smoke in the room and my partner ended up coughing the whole night, while our clothes smelled smokey on an annoying level. Mimi made sure we’d get a full refund (I told y’all she’s uber-cool!) which was a fair result. Nevertheless, the disappointment lingers, which is natural since it was my one and only chance to experience this, I’ve been saving for such a long time to come to Rovaniemi and do this. Therefore, I would not recommend to anyone to put their trust on Nordic Unique Travels for experiences high on their must-do list. But if you do, ask for Mimi to be your guide, so that you’ll guarantee a good side to all situations that may go wrong! Thank you Mimi!

The experience wasn't a great one. Firstly, they limit our Sauna session to only an hour and this wasn't communicated clearly to us before we book. Secondly, you have to walk quite a distance from the Sauna to the ice lake and the worst part is the so called ice lake was just a small hole until below my knee. How was I supposed to dip in? Imagine a kid's pool. Of all the activities I joined in Finland, this was not worth at all. The only thing good was the guide. She's friendly.
The trip was not the same how it was described in the Internet. It was written that it takes 4 hours but it wasn't even 3 hours. In addition the "ice swimming" was a 20cm deep puddle in the lake. It was hard to get the whole body inside the water. Please call the company before you book the trip so that you know what you get for your money. It was quite expensive. The hot tub was also not the same like it was on the picture. The good thing was that we had a private sauna in a cute barrel.
This trip is amazing!!! You get transfers included, they drop you at an amazing ice hotel and spa. We got our own personal ice sauna, normal sauna and changing room and our own roof top hot tub!! Followed by a 3 course Finnish meal. Either amazing grilled salmon or reighdeer. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights as the activity was high and there was not much light pollution. We had an extra 10mins so snuck into the Ice Hotel and had a look at some of the unoccupied rooms which was amazing. Then the driver picked us up and we went to a high viewing spot to see the northern lights again where he supplied fruit wine and cheese. It was amazing but make sure you take extra clothing for the viewing point as it is very cold!!!
Suosittelen ehdottomasti!
Very nice guide (a French intern). The place is really great! On the other hand on the site it is indicated that the experience lasts 3 hours whereas between the time we were picked up at the hotel and the return it happened barely 2 hours. On site, 1 hour only to enjoy (this is not specified in the activity description) and the sauna is not a wood heated sauna but just a standard sauna. We complained and were told that the term "traditional" regarding the fact that it was a "traditional Finnish" activity. In short, despite the setting and friendly guide, we still feel like we've been fooled. Disappointment.
It is the best activity we have done, and the experience was so good thanks to Antonella, took care of all the details, even the trip to the place was pleasant thanks to her music and her conversation. Thank you so much for everything Antonella.
The sauna is a sauna, we did that on our own inside the "barrel" and it was a nice experience, it lasts an hour which for a sauna is more than enough. Halfway through the sauna we took a break and threw ourselves into the frozen pond, which is more than a lake is a small frozen pool. Anyway, there was ice in it and it was very cold. It was a cool experience because coming from the boiling heat of the sauna then inside the ice water really puts you back in the world, even if I didn't have the courage to fully immerse myself. Everything was followed by many cookies with cinnamon and cranberry juice, while Miriam's incurable sympathy and kindness kept us company throughout the evening.
We were guided by Alizé P in this invigorating experience!!! Pleasant and very nice, she explained everything;) then she accompanied us in the highlights and took the time to check on us and offer us to immortalize the moment! No regrets about going swimming in the frozen lake. Body sensations guaranteed!!! We recommend!!!
You can not leave Lapland without passing through here, the sauna is the most typical and if you add the bath in icy lake and the jacuzzi outside is a top experience!! Thank you very much to Antonela and Anders who made the activity very easy!
This is an obligatory stop in the meantime to walk. Antonella and Anders made us feel at home and make it a unique experience integrating with our group. A 10 for them
Of the best experiences you can do in life. Sauna and icy lake. And to top off a hot tub while watching the Northern Lights.Antonela and Anders were super majismos with us, it's nice to meet people like that working.
A lovely deal, Antonella and Anders are great and made us feel like real Finns, the hot tub seeing Northern Lights is priceless
Unique and unforgettable experience. A dreamscape. Antonela and Anders have been great with us and super detailers, they are the best!
Excellent evening spent in December, we had some problems during the activity but the evening spent with our guide made us forget all that! Jaccuzi was cold and clearly not hot enough. However our marina guide was very attentive to our needs. She provided us with water as well as cheese to eat. she accompanied us in the pool of ice water, took photos and videos that will remain memorable. She also had an extra towel of our own because mine froze. During the meal, his explanations about Lapland gave us a better insight into Finnish culture. It was a pleasure to talk to her. After lunch, by showing us how to set our phone we were able to take pictures of the Northern Lights. Thank you for the Service provided, we hugely enjoyed the evening!!
Very good time spent with Sarka, joy to live good mood at the appointment! Despite our deplorable English, we managed to skip and enjoy our evening in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend it.
After a technical problem involving a change of venue, NordicUnique Travels offered us the option to cancel or a Plan B, we do not regret choosing the second option! We enjoyed two saunas, the classic and one ice cream, pleasant moment concludes with a bath in the Jacuzzi, and even if nature did not offer us a clear weather it was still perfect, calm and relaxing! THANK YOU to our Marina Endorsement Guide, for the support and exchanges!
