Northern Lights Tour With Bbq And Drinks

LOVED It! We were picked up on time, our tour guide was excellent and explained us a lot. He taught us how to take pictures and took a lot of pictures of us, extremely friendly staff, highly recommended!

Such a good time! We were lucky enough to see the lights towards the end of our time but as soon as we met Brandon - our guide, we knew it was money well spent regardless. Such a funny, knowledgeable, polite, nice guy! Bring heat packs… bring a tripod… definitely do it.

The guide was excellent. We had no luck seeing the aurora but it was a fun, safe experience and we did get to see some beautiful spots.

Aurora hunting. Worst experience ever. No equipment provided (with -29 degrees Celsius for about 4 hours under a roof with a small Fire that could not warm up, other tour operators provide you with the right equipment), mini van battery down, we had to wait one more hour for help! Freezing!!The small aurora Was seen by a person of the gruoup not the guide that Was under the roof by the Fire cause outside Was too cold! The guide Was nice, but the boss on the phone, with whom i organised the tourWas even rude! A bad experience!

the views is amazing but i am disappointed because i didn’t see the northern light and came from far away :(

The day before, the company anticipated the activity by half an hour On the day of the activity, there were excellent conditions for observing the Northern Lights, with maximum probability from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm, But the guide said he had to go to work the next day and the 3h tour it was ending no possibility to stay more some minutes......unbelievable!

Walter, Livia, Kai and Arthur were amazing - they did their best to show us the heavenly display despite the conditions not being ideal! Recommend strongly the photograph tour.

It was an awesome experience. They pick you up from your hotel and they drive about 20 min to get a clear view without any trees. The group was really small ( 5 people) and we were so lucky to see northern lights. The guide ( Alex) was so nice, took pictures, started a fire and gave us some sausages and cookies. However, it wasn’t 3 hours long as it said. Probably because we got to see the lights as soon as we got there, but just so you know it was about 2 hours including transportation. I would totally recommend this!

We are 4 Indonesian students and this is our 2nd attempt after unlucky due to bad weather last year in northern sweden We had so much fun and amazing night on march 11,2022. I took this tour in March 11th and had a blast!! Couldn't have been better. Alex was super helpful and friendly. He helped us with the camera settings and took amazing pictures of everyone. The barbecue was a delightful bonus. I am really happy with this experience.

We did two tours with Nordic Adventures in February 2022. We did the three hour minibus tour on our second attempt to see the lights and the private hut tour on our first night (see my separate review for that tour!). We were fortunate to see the lights on our minibus tour which made our trip! We did not see them on our first night, The minibus tour started at 1930 which made it easy with kids since we got back to the hotel around 2230. We were a group of five and no one else joined our tour which was nice. We first drove about 10 minutes from Santa’s Village and stopped at a lake. It was a bit bright with a few groups there so we moved on pretty quickly another 20 minutes east. We went to another darker more secluded lake. There was one other small group there but otherwise it was very quiet. We were lucky to see the lights faintly at first and then off and on for a few hours at varying intensities. Our guide kindly took lots of family photos for us that we received via email a few days later. We had a fire with sausages and hot juice which is standard but really yummy and fun for the kids. We stayed in that location for the rest of the tour as we had a great view and didn’t need to move elsewhere. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it. It was easy with kids and the company offers kid rates. We got a bit cold towards the end so dress seriously warmly! I was worried about spending a ton of time in the van but that was not the case which was a huge plus.

The tour guide was well trained for the tour. He was very knowledgeable and gave some background information regarding the Aurora. We saw the northern lights in our first stop and opted to stay there since the sight is already very beautiful. He came well equipped with firewood, some sausages and hot chocolate.

It was an experience of lifetime ! Alex and team made it possible in the most efficient way. He advised us on the day looking at the weather and we were lucky enough to witness Aurora in October. Barbecue and the stories by the fire in the cold chilly winter night would be remembered forever . Thank you .

Nordic Adventures did a great job keeping us informed of our pick up time and location. Our guide, Gale, was fantastic! He was prompt in picking us up at the Arctic City Hotel and was quick to point out where the Northern Lights started as we were driving to our location. Gale was good with our kids, was very knowledgeable about the Northern Lights and was fluent in English. We really enjoyed the hot juice and sausage as we watched and waited for the lights. He also took fantastic family photos that we will treasure forever.

The tour was very well organized and the guide was great. We were lucky and saw an amazing aurora that lasted around an hour. There were some snacks by the fire and hot drinks to help with the cold. The pictures the guide took were wonderfull!

I booked a tour with this company to see the northern lights. I was alone and SO LUCKY THIS TOUR COMPANY ACCEPTS SINGLE PEOPLE (a lot of other companies do not accept bookings from one person)!!!! Thank you for that!!!!! Unfortunately no northern lights, but you cannot force nature. Still I had a good and nice evening. The tour guide Alex was very friendly, answered a lot of questions and gave us information. He made sure the whole group had a good time. Would definitely book another tour with them!

Alex took our family and friends (7 total) out for the most amazing excursion to see the northern lights. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He threw together an amazing fire, provided snacks, hot beverages and sausages while teaching us about the area, the aurora and took beautiful pictures of the aurora and us with his professional camera on what was an absolutely amazing night. He was super attentive to everyone in the group, answering questions from 9 and 12 year olds while keeping us all fed and warm. He sent us the pics that same night! Unforgettable, lifetime experience! Would highly recommend!

We went for this tour on the night of Christmas Eve. The guide was very polite, informative and knowledgeable. We were also lucky to see the Northern Lights in a very beautiful landscape by a frozen river.

We had a great time and saw the northern lights on our first trip out! We brought three young children with us and our guide did a great job making them comfortable. He left the van running so they could get out of the cold when they needed to, and they loved sitting around the fire roasting sausages and marshmallows. Our guide was so friendly and I could tell he still enjoys seeing the lights himself. Overall, I can definitely recommend this experience!

Alex was extremely responsive and very helpful during the booking process, leading up to the trip and after the trip. We felt very lucky to see the Northern lights and it was made more special by doing it on an organised trip around a camp fire. When the children got cold, they were able to sit in the van and warm up. We met a lovely American family during our trip and I loved hearing about their adventures

We (family of 4) were collected from our accommodation in Rovaniemi on time as usual by this group. We were in a very roomy minivan with plenty of space and warmth for the kids. We drove north along the road to a place overlooking a frozen river. (Maybe 15km out of the city). The plan was to check the cloud cover and maybe seek another spot if it wasn’t clear. On this night however, there is wasn’t a cloud in the sky so we decided to wait. The guides spoke in depth about the northern lights and began to work on the fire and barbecue. Hot dogs, cookies and sausages were enjoyed by all. The heat of the fire also very comforting as the temperature dipped to -25. As it was a 3 hour tour, hopes were mixed for seeing the lights but next thing out of nowhere, they appeared in the sky above the hills in the distance. We all had pictures taken and the guides helped with this and also gave advice on setup of cameras to get the best snaps. The show lasted for 2 hours or so and shimmered and brightened before disappearing as suddenly as they appeared. It was a brilliant experience and the guides made it all the more special with their hospitality and understanding. They even put the heat on in the van to warm the kids before we departed. Highly recommend this tour.

Tour was well organiser. Alex, our guide took good care of us. Got served bbq sausages, hot berry juice and marshmallows by the camp fire. Fully recommend. Fulfilled my dream.

The transfer was in time and both Gael and Alex were super friendly and professional. We have been lucky enough to see the Northen Lights and Alex took a lot of photos with his professional camera so we will have the perfect memories for this lifetime experience. There was also fireplace to warm up, hot juice and some snack. We highly recommend this tour as it’s perfectly organized, even if it’s impossible to be sure to see Northen lights! 💫

This is a very mixed review. I booked the 3 night northern lights hunt with this company. If I was going to review the first night, I would give them, and our guide Alex, a 5 out of 5. We had a wonderful experience. Alex took great care of our group- he took pictures for us, helped us with our cameras to take some for ourselves, and made sure everyone had what they needed. The next night, however, wasn’t good at all. We went to the same location as the night before, which would have been fine however it was very crowded and not an intimate experience as it was the night before. We had a different guide this time too, who didn’t seem nearly as knowledgeable on the lights or as personable as our previous guide. It was a cloudy night where we were too and we never changed locations to try and find a better spot (which some other companies do). Additionally, as soon as it started to clear up our guide abruptly announced it was time to go and started to make the trek back to the van- before one of the other guests had their camera packed up and was ready to leave. I think if you can request a guide, ask for Alex. Also I wouldn’t recommend doing the 3 night hunt because we went to the same location and it didn’t seem like this company actually hunts for the lights - they just took us to the same location. We ended up canceling our third night and went with another company.

Beautifull nordern lights with a friendly and very expirienced guide. You can enjoy the view whilest warming yourself by the fire. An absolute must if you are in Lappland.

So glad to be travelling again! Alex picked us up with two really swell Swiss guys for the Aurora hunt. We spent the night huddling together by the campfire in the cold. Definitely need to wear multiple layers & bring some heat packs for the hands & feet! Alex is a really fantastic guide who shared a lot of interesting facts about Lapland, like the Northern lights, reindeers, & mushrooms. He really loves his mushrooms! He is very friendly & goes the extra mile to explain everything we have to know & helped to keep us warm & comfortable. It was fun toasting some marshmallows together & having them with sausages & hot chocolate. We were very glad that Alex had changed the date of our aurora hunt so that we could see some really amazing sights. Our camera died pretty quickly but Alex helped us take several gorgeous pictures on his camera. Definitely need to pack those extra batteries (& keep them warm!) & a tripod. This trip is highly recommended with Alex as your guide because he knows so much about the Northern lights & makes sure everyone is having a great time. Make sure to ask him to show you some amazing photographs he has taken of past auroras! Thank you Alex, for helping us catch the auroras during our memorable trip!

We did 2 other activities with Nordic Adventures (Husky 10km Safari & Visit to a local reindeer farm). It is always a pleasure to go with them. The team (both Alex) is very nice. They are responsive with messages and always ready to help and answer questions. Also, they are honest about the chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Despite several hours of research and perseverance on Alex's part, we have not seen any northern lights. But that's the game! However, the full moon and the nighttime atmosphere in a snowy landscape were amazing. In addition, the time around the fire with the snacks was great. I will try my luck with them again and I recommend them. Thanks again for everything, it was great!

We were only two of us because of the Corona situation so it was very good! We knew the conditions were bad, the first Alex I had by email was very honest and did not promise to see northen light to force us to book. Alex (the second !) our guide, took us to a first place and we tasted hot chocolate and sausage. Unfortunately we haven't seen any. So Alex drove and did everything to make sure we had some and he finally found a piece of clear sky, so that through the camera we could see them! he really persevered !! Thanks for that !! We recommend you and will not hesitate to come back to you for other activities !!

It's been surreal and as well lucky to have witness "The Northern Lights" for three consecutive nights... Amazing Northern light hunt with Alex and his colleague. They took us to two places and we were so lucky to see it! Besides that they made a cozy fire To keep us warm and nice snacks and drinks. Enjoyed every minute of it!

Alex was right on time to fetch us at our AIRBNB. We were lucky to see the Northern Lights on the first night. Alex was great with helping in the photograph. The sausage and hot drinks also helped a lot

Really enjoyed the tour tonight - had an amazing time, saw some great lights and the hosts were really informative and lovely!! Would recommend.

We had 3 small children with us and this was a good option as the staff were very accommodating. We went twice and managed to see the lights the second time. It would be good if the staff were able to take photos of us, maybe even bring their own cameras as it was already expensive and difficult to justify buying a camera to see something that may not occur. To the naked eye the lights were ok.... but much better when photographed.

We took this mini van tour with our guide Alex. It was just our family of 5 and two other women. It was a cloudy night so our hopes weren’t too high in seeing the Northern Lights. And as it turned out we unfortunately didn’t see them but had a fun night all the same. Alex was very knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend this tour, especially if you have young children!

It was frozen night -25. And yes, we managed to view the aurora from camera . We’re group of 4 people from Asia . Not used to this type of coldness. Alex was very considerate , he let us stay in vehicle and on the engine to keep us warmth 😊

Nordic adventures hosted a very nice Aurora hunting trip. Will go for it again if we get a chance again.

Mayu was amazing!! I hope I wrote her mane correctly, speaks fluent English, very good photographer, extremely friendly and definitely knows what she is doing! Of anyone knows how to find northern lights in Rovaniemi it’s these guys. She picked me up from the hotel, to their office where we got warm clothes and a backpack, with lights, hot delicious drink, and a tripod for those who didn’t have any, then we drove all the way north where where we stopped and she taught people how to use the tripod setup the camera and take the best shots. Then we continued to even a further spot up north, on a frozen lake, where we got lucky and saw a glimpse of the aurora’s everyone was so happy and excited and she took portraits as well. The group was multinational which made is very interesting to hangout with everyone was so happy and enjoyed every bit of this tour. It’s not to be missed!!!

Alex who was our guide, there is also Alex who is the owner. Both are extremely friendly and informative. So throughout the booking process all our questions were answered well. Alex drove us to two different places, one was pretty secluded away from the coaches and we were extremely lucky to see the Aurora...It wasn't quite as the images you see and you only really see the colours in the Photos. But on the whole great experience. Alex made a fireplace and provided hot drink/marshmallows and the kids loved it.

Two trips out of Rovaniemi on consecutive nights in February and we were lucky enough to see the lights both nights. Alex really knew his stuff and took us to the perfect viewing spots away from the city lights. Amazing experience with a very knowledgeable guide - we are happy to recommend this to all.

Even though unfortunately no Northern Lights were visible that evening we had a great time with two competent and very nice guides. Our vegan food wish was also fulfilled. Highly recommended!

Enorm teleurgesteld! We wisten op voorhand dat we het Noorderlicht niet gingen zien, het was bewolkt, sneeuwde en de app gaf ook aan dat het weer het niet toeliet. Toch ging de toer door. We werden op tijd opgehaald in ons hotel. Na een klein half uurtje in de minivan werden we naar een bevroren meer gebracht waar er natuurlijk niets ze zien was. En daar hebben we 3u in de kou gewacht tot wanneer de gids wou terugkeren. Gelukkig hadden we iets warms te drinken. We kregen iets te eten en er werd rekening gehouden met onze wensen aangezien we vegetariërs zijn. Ik kan verder helaas niets positiefs vertellen. Het had natuurlijk anders geweest indien we te zien hadden gekregen waar we voor betaald hadden. Misschien een tip voor de touroperator. Indien het Noorderlicht niet te zien is, annuleer de tour op voorhand. Zo zet je de mensen niet in het zak!

We had a great and incredible time at the Northern Lights Tour. Our guide Gaël and his boss were super nice and put a lot of effort into taking great photos of us with the Northern Lights. The small hot sausage snack with hot berry juice and marshmallow dessert around the campfire created a nice atmosphere and warmed us up again at - 16 degrees. The location of the sighting of the Northern Lights on the frozen river was really great, so you could see the Northern Lights early and from the start - great choice of place for the tour. Thank you for the experience and we can recommend booking the tour and going hunting with Nordic Adventures.
