Enjoyed the hike, slightly difficult in parts but very doable. The waterfalls were beautiful. BBQ lunch enjoyed. On time pick-up.

After waiting an hour at the meeting spot, no one came. We had also failed to reach them through Viator. Luckily viator was responsive and told us that the trip appeared to have been cancelled. A little message informing us of this would have saved us precious holiday time, and allowed us to prepare an alternative plan for the day better.
Fantastic beautiful site. It was April , so no crowds & very serene. Spikes on shoes provided & recommended as icey. Informative guide who drove very safely!
Lovely experience walking through Korouoma National Park. Alex is a friendly and helpful guide showing us around and indulging us in traditional glög and sausages in front of an open fire
1 star - awful!!!! Avoid this operator!!!! They clearly don’t train or monitor the performance of the guides. Our guide was Elias. We were picked up at our hotel and he barely said one word to us, only his name. Didn’t tell us anything until we picked up some other guests at a different hotel, and then he told us we could all just sleep until we got there. Once we got there and started the hike, the ground was very slippery due to a small amount of snow, which was partially melting. Elias walked ahead of the group and didn’t show any concern or care about anyone’s safety. Didn’t warn anyone about areas where we might need to take more care. He didn’t even try to stay with the group. He moved ahead quickly, leaving us little time to take in the nature. He had no idea that a bunch of us were slipping and sliding and that someone might fall or hurt themselves. He wasn’t checking to see whether everyone was progressing safely during the hike. He was inconsiderate. He did not show any care or concern for anyone’s safety during the hike at any point. He stopped two or three times during the hike and said about two or three sentences, but he didn’t even wait until the whole group got to where he was before he started speaking. He didn’t have any interesting things to tell us about the area, from what we could hear. He was completely unengaged with the group. Honestly, the experience would’ve been exactly the same if he had dropped us off at the trailhead and said I’ll be back in two hours to pick you up. That is how terrible of a guide he was. We had a direct comparison to a tour that we did the day prior with a different tour operator to the Ranua Zoo - our guide made sure to tell us what areas of the paths were slippery or where it would be easy to fall. I can tell you without hesitation that this experience didn’t come close to the very steep price tag of 266 euros per person. Best to skip this one, people. Or, request to have a guide that is NOT named Elias. Interestingly, we had been contacted by the tour company several days prior to either cancel or reschedule our tour because the conditions would be wet and slippery, which implies that the tour operator cares about your safety while on the hike. And we did take that recommendation and we did reschedule the tour for a different day. Now, I’m not sure why, because clearly they didn’t care if anybody fell or hurt themselves or was even enjoying themselves. It might’ve also been helpful to be informed before the tour that the waterfalls weren’t yet frozen, as what they called “waterfalls” were very unimpressive. Probably one of the worst tours I’ve ever done and with the worst tour guide I’ve experienced. Save your money and book with someone else if you are interested in this place. At one point, the guide was so far ahead and I saw him looking back at us and I said, well I guess we are going to be doing our own tour. He should have stopped to receive feedback and should ask if everyone is okay. He needs to go back to guide school. He is not qualified to take anyone on this ‘hike’ that was called a ‘tour’.
Alex was a great guide. He picked us (five sisters) up from our Airbnb and took us to the Kourouoma Canyon National Park, surrounded by beautiful views and nature. We also enjoyed a traditional meal and beverage. Alex was friendly and helpful and dropped us at the airport at the end of the tour. I will recommend this tour and service provider.
Awesome day out, guide was great Asan I think, pronounced ash, was an early start and ridiculously I had to get a taxi to the meeting point and when the driver arrived he drove back right past our hotel so I’m not buying the “eco friendly” reason for the company not doing hotel pick ups but never the less I recommend doing this great trip if you have no car, the falls are easily accessible if you have your own car & obviously so much cheaper! Had a lovely gentle walk wouldn’t describe it as a hike really my 13 year old son loved walking off track in the really deep snow & making snow angels, great photo opportunities, lots of information
I am speechless, it is a magical place, Alex is super attentive and always made us feel very comfortable, thanks for lending us the crampons as they are very useful 🙌🏻 was a challenge but in the end we had a great time. Incredible, excellent service and always answered our questions. Totally recommendable.
We went out with Alex and Alex. I highly recommend this tour. It was my favorite part of the whole trip. Both Alex was very informative and fun to talk to, and the view was amazing. They gave us authentic Finnish sausage and Glögi, unlike a different tour I took, where the sausage was cheap and not fully cooked, and the Glögi was heavily diluted. This was a small group and we had a special place to eat so we were not crowded by other tours. We started earlier than other tours as well, therefore the forest was practically empty for us. We felt we were treated special and it made the whole tour more than worth it.
We had best hiking ever. It was a little challenging but our guid Alex made sure everyone was safe and well. :)
We had a wonderful day at the Korouoma Canyon with frozen Waterfalls. The hiking was amazing and our tour guide Alex did a great job. He shared a lot of knowledge about the nature and the life in Finland. I would always recommend to experience this beautiful tour and let Alex guide you through this pure nature.
Our guide Alex, loaned us grips for our boots which made the hike so much easier and safer. It's a wonderful excursion, a real feel of Finland, so beautiful but it is mostly an up hill hike back so be prepared. I highly recommend this tour.
I went on the canyon trail hike. The waterfall was not frozen yet but Alex took us on a great hike in a loop. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Alex was awesome!!! He knew every detail to make it comfortable for the tourist (e.g. which part of the loop to start and how to end so that it’s easy for us), gave us a lot of information about the place and around too all along the way.
Wonderful hike in the frozen waterfalls trail. We got crampons and had a nice lapish BBQ. Alex was a great guide.
Tour: It was such a nice tour and a Must do when you visit Rovaniemi in the Arctic Circle! Composed of a small group where is the approached ispersonalized. The sausage was deliciously perfect! Paired with the local Tea which is flavory hot! Guide: (Alex) Such a nice and approachable guide. Who give me all informations on how can i make the most of my stay. 😊 Very informative and helpful not only that A handsome tour guide as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
We had such a perfect day at Korouoma✨ We went there early, and I am grateful, that we arrived prior everybody else. The weather and the surroundings were just amazing, but I am also SO happy, that we ended up with Alex’ group. Already few hours after booking online, Alex was texting me to make sure, we were ready. He double checked the details with us and we felt taken care of. It was a small group, and Alex was really friendly, helpful and told us about the nature and wildlife. The BBQ was cosy and good. I never understood, what it was with the drone, but I didn’t give it a thought. The best recommendations from us.
One of the best tours on our Lapland trip. We are so glad we went with this instead of some huge company. It was just me and my boyfriend and Aleksei told us, he is just starting his own venture as a tour guide and you could really feel how passionate he is. Since we started a bit earlier than most groups, we had the trail to ourselves. The hike itself is easy to do and leads through beautiful nature. A highlight was the campfire on the way back with Finnish sausages and marshmallows. We even learned how to start a campfire ourselves with just a knife. The drone shots we received a day later were really breathtaking!
We had an absolutely amazing experience. Alex was one of the most thoughtful guides we’ve had. He picked us up from our hotel at 8:30 AM so we could escape the crowds. He had got crampons for us (for our shoe sizes!) that made the trek very comfortable. He even got vegan sausages for the vegetarians in the group!! He showed us 3 spectacular frozen waterfalls and also took beautiful drone shots for us (along with photographs on our phones). He told us all about the Finnish forests and answered all our questions patiently. Feel lucky to have found this tour. Highly recommended!!
Alex Is a really nice guy, he introduced many knowledge about the nature, we had good BBQ sausage and drinks, what a wonderful day!
I had a fantastic time on this trip. The guide, Alex, was very professional but also very personal. He made it a very enjoyable experience. The scenery was beautiful and the BBQ was a great way to have some lunch. Would highly recommended and will be back again.
Stunning view of the mountain, great hiking experience and the weather was not too cold. Our guide Alex is very patient and very helpful.
Alex (our friendly guide) took us on a lovely hike through nature. He made photos and a cool drone video of us. He picked us up at our hotel outside rovaniemi at the right time and even gave us a chance to do some little shopping afterwards in a local supermarket. Very much recommended!
I booked this tour the day before and got communication and confirmation quickly. On the day, there were 3 of us and I was delighted that it was not a coach full of people where the experience would not have been as hands-on and intimate. Unlike some of the tours on the day, Alex (our guide)was with us every step of the day, supporting us on the long trek which was at a manageable pace and explaining the features of the national park and answering our questions about the park and life in Lapland. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and were able to immerse ourselves in the moment with some great photos and discussion along the way. The trip started slightly earlier than most so we were ahead of the crowds at all times and were able to enjoy the waterfalls in tranquility. Thanks Alex for a truly wonderful trip!
Nice experience, i really good hike very well explained. Although the days I was there were cloudy and very little chance of seeing the northern lights, this hike was a nice additional experience to do while waiting better weather at night. The guide was very friendly and open to answer questions about the scenery and the city.
We went with guide Alex. A very friendly man, takes the time, telling important things about the nature in Korouoma Park and the frozen Waterfalls and Canyon. It's about a 7 Kilometer Trip and halfway we get a barbecue and the woman trying to make some Fire. We were with 3 Persons and one Guide and travelling by Car. We have enjoyed it very much and should do it once again when We should come to this Place. We can highly recommand it. Gregor and Karin from Holland
Great tour and alex is a good guide! To start early helps to avoid the mass of tourist. Overall recommended
I recommend this tour over any other waterfall treks!! Alex was amazing, and very experienced to will take you to the best parts and is very considerate. It is a private tour and surprisingly well priced. He also has a drone which takes great videos. Thank you Alex it was a pleasure!
Tour was specifically meant to start 30 mins ahead of the bug tour companies so we did not waste any time waiting and had the scenic spots to ourselves for phototaking. When we did the hike, the temperature was around -5 to -2 degrees Celsius. Alex provided us with snow cleats and we hiked in our normal city coat / puffy jackets; more than sufficient and really comfortable for us even for first time winter hikers. We felt that Alex provided us with value for money services given that the big tour companies charge 200 euros and some of the tour groups we came across did not even have a guide with them- all they had was a bus to the location. On the other hand, we had Alex explaining all the geographical formations. Although, Alex was also kind enough to give directions and guidance to several tourists along the way. Best part would have to be the pictures Alex took for us, he also did some drone videography for us at one of the frozen waterfalls!
We had the best day with Alex in the forests of Korouoma! The waterfall were breathtaking but in my opinion even more so the surrounding forest landscape. Alex is the ideal guide, very calm and friendly. He made sure we avoided the crowds and chose the best route. He’s knowledgeable about the forest and survival skills and was happy to share this with us. He made sure we were safe and had everything we needed at all times. I would highly recommend Alex for any tour, this was 10/10!
This was amazing! We were in a small group and we started the hike very early so there were no other groups there yet. His pictures and the drone experience were amazing. Alex is very communicative and easy going.
Recommend!!!! the trip was very flawless, Alex loved his job and it shows (he was doing it with passion). it wasn’t commercial like other companies. the drone part was a great add-on to the trip.
Went on a field trip with Alex to the frozen falls of Corowoma Canyon. We were very pleased! The trip was very reasonable and comfortable. The day before the tour came an information letter, the ride arrived on time. All participants were given leve accesses (anti-slip boot pads). Alex himself was also attentive and courteous, and yet unobtrusive. Prices are better than many competitors, with an identical program. I recommend it!
Une randonnée incroyable, des paysages magnifique, un guide parfait qui expliquait très bien, il nous a même laissé nous amuser à glisser sur les descentes. Le babecue était super bon et on a mangé à notre faim. Foncez faire cette randonnée !
A superb visit, hike suitable for everyone. Really worth doing, it was magnificent! The Sami bbq was excellent and the icing on the cake: Alex, so nice!
Absolutely must-do activity. The organization is perfect, the guide picks you up at a meeting point you have chosen and on time. After a drive, he equips you and the experience begins, you go for a hike in the heart of a nature reserve with a guide who explains the species of plants, waterfalls and much more. There are breaks at places that give you a magnificent view of the waterfalls. After the effort, the guide offers you a barbecue with drinks included. In summary, a magical activity that leaves you with unforgettable memories.
It was a great experience. The tour guide answered all questions and was happy to assist. It was the off-season, and even if there were only two tourists, the tour guide was willing to go on the tour. He answered questions related to the itinerary, Finnish culture, and residents on the way, and was very willing to help take photos.
A great hiking tour that you should definitely do. A big advantage was that we reached the canyon BEFORE all other tourists, in a small group. So we had the indescribable nature and the beautiful waterfalls just for us. A fairytale landscape that you could enjoy in peace and quiet. Alex, our guide, organized everything very well. From picking us up, hiking to waterfall and at the end there was a BBQ and a campfire. Thank you again for the unforgettable experience. Don't miss it! A great hiking tour that you should definitely do. A big advantage was that we reached the canyon BEFORE all other tourists in a small group. Alex our guide ,had everything super organized, from the pickup , hike to the subsequent BBQ. Thank you again, for the unforgettable experience. Don't miss it!
