I had a wonderful experience on a reindeer farm tour with a sleigh ride. The place felt truly magical, surrounded by beautiful and peaceful scenery. The reindeer sleigh ride was the highlight—gliding through such stunning landscapes made it feel like something out of a dream. The mid-tour snack was also a lovely touch and added to the overall experience. A special mention goes to Rajmond, who was very pleasant and made the tour even more enjoyable with his friendly and welcoming attitude.

Great activity The guide, Elja, was very friendly and professional. He was very interesting and passionate. We visited a small family-run reindeer farm. The reindeer ride is enjoyable. Don’t hesitate to take the extra suit offered in case of very cold weather. A small downside: after the ride, the time to feed and pet the reindeer is short (10 minutes). It was also less impressive because the reindeer had little or no antlers. Afterwards, we had a crêpe and a hot drink by the fire. There is also a small shop.
Krista, our tour guide, took us to our reindeer sleigh ride tour. She was friendly, approachable, and easy to talk to. We learned a lot about Lapland during our drive. Once we got to the farm, there was another group doing a tour there, but the whole ride still felt intimate with our small group. We were able to have some hot drinks and cookies in a yurt after the ride, ask questions about the reindeers, and get warm. We then fed the reindeers, took pet them, and took more photos before heading back to the office. Krista is a professional photographer and took photos of us during our activity, which is always a great bonus!
The reindeer were so cute and awesome. The sleigh ride was good - a long trip. Getting to feed the reindeer afterwards was really great. Given a hot drink and crepe afterwards which was nice. Photos were also taken. A great tour.
This reindeer experience was unreal and so much fun! The sleigh ride through the snowy forest was incredibly peaceful and truly felt magical. Getting to feed and pet the reindeer afterward was such a special moment and made the experience even better! Everything was well organized and memorable from start to finish. Highly recommend!
The trip is amazing! Our guide and photographer Sanni is so great! She took very gpod care of us. She picked us from our hotel and found warm boots and hats for us. The reindeer farm is also lovely. It is like the land for fairytale. This trip is definitely a beautiful life experience that on cannot miss.
Great experience, they explained the well being on the reindeer and the ride was cold but beautiful.
Great guides, very knowledgable and ensured we were warm. The reindeer and farm were a great experience. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful experience today at the reindeer farm. Our guide and photographer were great and the sleigh ride was magical. It was great to hearing information about the reindeers and getting to warm up after the ride with hot chocolate and a snack. Our kids loved every minute and would definitely recommend.
My first reindeer ride. Our tour guide/photographer took great photos. I decided to go directly to the office as meeting point. The staffs were friendly and kind. They checked whether my winter clothes were enough to warm me. If not, there were winter clothes available in their office. Then our tour guide drove us to reindeer farm. The sceneries with the snow were very nice. We had the reindeer ride around 30 mins. Then we fed the reindeers. The owner of the farm is very kind. They served us pancake and hot drinks. They shared information about reindeers. It was a great experience. Many thanks Elja, our tour guide.
Eljja was a great tour guide! Amazing time at the reindeer farm. The sleigh ride was absolutely serene through the snowy forest! Take your wife and your kids!
This trip takes you about 1 hours outside of Roveniemi into a beatiful forest which contains the beautiful family owned reindeer ranch. This is a picturesque setting, perfect for your photos. The reindeer are gentle and very handsome. The sleighs were rustic, yet comfortable. The sleighs ride was over 1 mile long through the forest. Very safe and peaceful. Fedsing and petting the reindeer was encouraged and we enjoyed that too. The post-ride crepes and hit drink were yummy.. This was an ideal experience. Our guide was cool.
My niece and I did several tours in Rovaniemi and Levi, Finland. Both of us rated the local reindeer farm in Lapland the top of four excursions (dogsledding, ice chipper boat and float, snowmobiling and reindeer sledding. We smiled the whole time as we went sliding through the beautiful forest. We never would have guessed this particular excursion would give us so much pleasure. After the forest trip, we got a chance to pet and feed the reindeer. The additional pluses were that they picked us up (and returned us) from our lodging; gave us proper cold weather clothing, in case people didn't quite come THAT prepared! Gave us drink, crepes and lingon berries as they gave us a presentation enlightening their guests on the herds of reindeer in Finland. People had a chance to buy a keepsake in their gift shop on the farm before returning to Rovaniemi. They took professional pictures (without charge) which guests could download a few days after the excursion. Those are some of the reasons for our top choice but mainly it was pure relaxation and entertaining.
Very peaceful and cosy going through the snow track. We fed the gentle reindeers after the walk then had a warm drink and crepe with homemade jam in the wooden hut that was warmed with a fire in the middle of the hut. Very informative entertaining pleasant hosts. Wonderful experience, highly recommend.
Magic ending to a magic holiday. Perfect trip for our last day. The farm is idealic and the family were very welcoming. The sleigh ride through the snow covered forest was beyond our expectations.
Wonderful authentic trip in the heart of what felt like an enchanted forest! It’s a family run reminder farm and I was so pleased we chose this trip. It wasn’t commercialised which we really enjoyed. The family were so friendly and told us lots about the reindeers.
The Raindeer farm is family owned. The animals are very well looked after which is super important. The group was( Max 8 ) people and the guide Elja was very good
Fantastic. Sled ride, pancakes & hot choc, feed the babies. Ask any questions! Highly recommend. Great guide very informative & safe driver, lovely hosts on the farm. Reindeers were so photogenic
Wonderful experience. Friendly staff. The weather was perfect, it was snowing, sunny and -12 degrees (in march).
This was a very authentic experience. You go to a real farm and get explanations from the owner. The surrounding is beautiful, you see plenty of reindeer and get a pancake and hot drinks in the hut. Amazing!
We loved the reindeer sleigh ride through the winterwonderland and the warm welcome at the authentic and charming reindeer farm.
The guide was very friendly and took nice photo's (a big reason for me to pick this tour as a solo traveller, only having selfies gets boring). However, the tour feels a little rushed. It is described as a 'half day experience', but we were there for less than 1,5 hours, the rest is transport and waiting. They also advertise with 'small groups', but send multiple small groups at the same time, which kind of defeats the purpose. Upon arrival, we were quickly loaded into a sleigh, without much introduction/explanation of the farm or anything abour reindeer. the ride was quite fun, and it was cool to see the reindeer up really close. After the ride (about 20 min, but that is long enough), we got to feed our own reindeer quickly, but that was it. Not the feeding of the herd etc they show on the site. The warm drinks and pancakes afterwards were very nice though. Again, the guide was very friendly, can not be faulted. But the description as 'a half day experience on a reindeer farm' is misleading. It is a short ride, quick feed and then nice snacks.
Activity lasts only 2 hours not "halfday". Drive to the farm lasts 40 min one way, ride through the winterforest was amazing but lasts only 20 min. Crepes and tea were served next to a fire in a cosy tent.
What a great experience! All the content left us with unforgettable memories. The staff was very friendly and responded quickly to our questions and needs. The pick-up and drop-off service is a big plus. I directly provided the hotel address to Beyond Artic through the app and asked for a suitable pick-up point. The staff responded quickly that they could pick me up directly at the hotel. On the return trip, they could let us to choose to get off at Santa Claus Village. Every thing is great! It’s worth to recommend.
Wonderful - unique - magical experience! We would absolutely do it again. Pick up was great and we were provided with warm overalls. Drive was about 40min. Great idyllic, down-to-earth farm that pays great attention to animal welfare!! The family runs is farm since ever and is very friendly. The ride was great. Winter wonderland !!Afterwards we could feed „our“ reindeer which was a great experience. I wish we had some more time with them… but still great. So cute !! We got some homemade pancakes and hot chocolate while the owner told us facts about the farm and the reindeers. Also a tour trough the farm and we could watch some other reindeer’s as well. All in all a great experience !!
The staff at Beyond Artic were great, very friendly and helpful. The reindeer farm was about 45 mins away by van. I chose this experience because I wanted to experience a longer sleigh ride, meeting and feeding the reindeer and the photos. I haven't seen the photos yet but am hoping their are some great ones. The journey there and back took up a lot of the half day experience and I didn't feel we had as long actually meeting the reindeer that I hoped we would have. Really liked the fact we were out in the forest and not just on a small circuit. The hot chocolate and crepes were delicious and a really lovely touch. Unfortunately I couldn't understand much that the farmer was saying due to her very dense accent (obviously not her fault but I was interested to learn more). Really enjoyed the ride but did feel a bit rushed for the money. However would recommended Beyond Artic.
Pick up was prompt and informed of time via email a couple days beforehand. Juhani was our guide and photographer and he made the experience 10/10. Very friendly, informative and fun. We even did another trip spontaneously that night with him chasing the auroras! The reindeer farm was lovely and the staff again informative. Short ride around the woodland then some photos and feeding. Finishing off with pancakes & hot chocolate on the Kota around the fire where the farm owner gave a talk about the reindeers. Would definitely recommend
We picked up in the morning, and drive around 45 to the location. The guides were helpful, we had fun with the reindeer ride, had pancakes and to be told about reindeers
This was our first tour with Beyond Artic, which was selected by our travel agency AMEX/A&K. We did not know in advance that Beyond Artic distinguishes itself by taking high-quality photos during the adventures. But afterwards we were super enthusiastic about it. I am a hobby photographer, but taking photos at -20 degrees with a complex professional camera turned out to be too much of a challenge for me. Fantastic when a professional photographer takes on that challenge. The tour started with a 5-10 minute ride in the reindeer sleigh, after my wife (dressage rider) had attached the animal to the sleigh on the instructions of the guide. Afterwards we were given a hot drink and we could ask our countless questions to the guide. This was incredibly interesting and incredibly educational. For example, we learned that antlers grow bigger every year and that each antler starts in a softer and therefore relatively vulnerable form. And that the antlers of a female - so mother - reindeer remain longer than those of the males, so that the females are able to more easily conquer food for themselves and their offspring. It was also interesting to know that the reindeer are released 'into the wild' in the spring and are tracked down again in the fall. Afterwards we were allowed to feed the reindeer. Super cool to get such great photos of that afterwards! Jana: you were great!
Family enjoyed the trip and learning about the reindeer. Kids enjoyed feeding the reindeer. The drink/snack was great. Appreciate the photos that were taken during the trip.
Timely pick up; good warm thermals etc. The tour itself was well organized and even the hot drink / snacks after the ride were served in a very cosy hut. Enough time for doing the activity and taking snaps.
Most amazing experience ever, the pancakes, the hot chocolate, the information provided, the Farm and the farmers were so good and kind. The reindeer sleigh was magical and more than long enough for 2km, you just can't beat the price for all of this included and also some professional pictures as well. The Agency who transported us also professional. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Gabriel our guide on the farm was absolutely amazing. Gabriel showed us how to catch a reindeer, then we headed into an enclosure to feed the reindeers, this made my daughters trip, we learnt some pretty interesting things. Absolutely 100% recommend this trip such an amazing experience!!!
Really lovely experience, great communication from the excursion company, pick up on time and as expected. Reindeer farm was small and family forum which was really nice, felt like the reindeers were well looked after, all had a good temperament and all us of (2 Adults, 2 kids, 7 & 10) enjoyed feeding them and getting some great family photos. The reindeer ride was so picturesque, wrapped up in blankets with the snow falling all around was exactly what we had imagined and it really didn’t disappoint. Then a warm cabin to enjoy crepes and hot drinks by the fire while getting to know a bit more about the farm and the reindeer. Great morning out, many thanks.
Everything was so well organised and comfortable. The farm was beautiful and it was so great to get up close to the reindeer. The driver was also so great and informative. Very friendly and so glad to share information. (I feel bad I can’t remember his name)
2Adults 2Kids booked 6 months prior. Message received confirming collection point/time the day before, collecting 1 hour before start of visit. Collected on time from SCV however we then had to collect another 4 guests. Upon arrival at their collection point (Beyond artic offices) they were late. Our guide was amazing and asked if we wished to wait inside or have a coffee as would be 10minutes. Other guests needed snow suits ect. We were happy in the car so waited however it was over 45MINUTES by the time they arrived and were ready. We set off but the commute was about 45mins away. Due to being late and waiting again for ANOTHER group to arrive the tour started and was gone through quite quick. I booked because it stated a 2KM reindeer ride. When researched 2KM it should have been about a hour? When we set off the guide stated it would be a 300 something which made me think I had booked the wrong trip… after a few minutes we had looped the track and was back round?!? The photographer was doing her best to try and get as many photos as possible. Once again she was AMAZING and would give 5* to her. Once we where being hurried along to go feed another set of reindeer, the guide talked us through feeding and handed us the feed, once we had our small handful we fed them and went back for more however the guide had placed the bag away. Once again the photographer was trying to get as many pics as she could while the reindeer were entertained. We headed to the hut and enjoyed crepes with jam and hot chocolate. We then had a talk about the reindeer husbandry and off we went back to the van. The farm itself was exactly why I booked, I wanted the commercial side from SCV but my money to go the traditional farms rather than money making taster sessions. Being honest, for such a short ride I’d of rather done something else for the morning and let the kids do the taster session at SCV. All that way for a few minutes ride? I just thought it would be longer. I love the family run business but feel miss sold wondering did they cut the ride short due to time restraints. Once again not their fault but solely booked for the extended ride. Annoyed as we were prepared in good time fully kitted up and ready so waiting on people for ages with 2 kids isn’t ideal. Farm looks after the reindeer very well but they don’t like to be touched or interacted with. Once again the ride is its selling point which I don’t feel delivered.
It was a lovely morning's experience visiting a working Reindeer Farm. The sleigh ride, although short, was lovely and we were given home made pancakes and blueberry jam with a hot beverage of our choice while we listened to our host telling us about Reindeers and how reared them. Our guide on the tour Waffle, was excellent.
I got a phone call the day before the experience to say that the sleigh ride part of the experience is cancelled due to not enough snow - which we were aware of and as it’s a natural thing and nothing can be done about it we completely understood and appreciated the call. We were given the option to cancel completely or to still go along to the farm - we decided to still go and see the reindeer and I’m so glad we did as it was such a great experience. It ended up being just us - not sure if that was the case originally anyway or if others cancelled. Our driver and photographer Aleksi was great so was Gabriel our guide on the farm. Gabriel showed us how to catch reindeer with a type of lasso and we practiced on a wooden reindeer which was pretty fun. Then we headed into an enclosure to feed the reindeer, they’re surprisingly gentle and so so beautiful! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We then headed inside a nice and cosy and warm hut and had some hot drinks and crepes with homemade blueberry jam which was super delicious. Gabriel told us a bit more about the reindeer and the farm and we’ve learnt some pretty interesting things. We finished off at the souvenir shop much to my sons’ delight. The photos that were taken turned out amazing too. We were offered a partial refund for the sleigh ride cancellation during that phone call but then received a full refund which I feel slightly bad about as we still had a great time but it’s very much appreciated. Just happy we spent some money at the shop to support the farm. Thank you!
A really informative and fun experience! We learned a lot about the reindeer and it was a surprise to see how different all the reindeer were in terms of character. The reindeer that was pulling our sleight was very enthusiastic (we went a lot faster than I thought we would!) and had a fun personality. The snack we had afterwards was also tasty and gave us the opportunity to speak to the staff a but more about their experiences with the reindeer.
The reindeer farm Tatuka is at a 45 minutes drive form Rovaniemi. We arrived at the end of the season (beginning of april) but we had luck and still a lot of snow. It was a sunny day and the ride was very nice. As it was the end of the tourism season, our familly was the only on the tour. So it was very relaxed. And the owners took their time to explain reindeer life. After the 2 km ride we could feed the reindeers which was also a very nice experience. The photografer took a lot of photos. We were back in Rovaniemi at 11h30.
Rovaniemi, Finland was absolutely wonderful in February. I would recommend using Rovaniemi, specifically Santa Claus Village (Arctic Circle) as your hub. We stayed in the cottages which were spacious and very nice. Everyone in Rovaniemi knows where Santa Claus Village is located. Some of the activities we enjoyed were half day experience at a local reindeer farm in Lapland, eating dinner in an igloo/riding snow scooters on a frozen lake, and eating dinner at the ArticSnow Hotel and Glass Igloos/Restaurant, which was an absolutely amazing experience. We stayed in a glass/heated igloo (Santa's Hotel Aurora) in Luosto (ski village), spectacular! If you're lucky you will see the Northern Lights. Excellent vantage point. We hired a driver to get us from Luosto to Rovaniemi. It was about an 1 1/2 hour ride. The airport is about 5 minutes from Santa Claus Village. Be sure and wear a good pair of boots with good traction.
We loved the reindeer farm and ride. I was disappointed photographers did not take a picture of us in the sled. They took ones of us feeding the reindeer at our request. Other people had many photos of them.
Well organized, really nice experience! I received proper clothes just to protect my own. The farm is nice with beautiful scenery around. Thank you!
Great experience at the reindeer farm! The pancakes and hospitality was amazing. I enjoyed ! The reindeer sled was one to remember
What an amazing morning! It felt like we were in a Hallmark Christmas movie on a small farm in the Lapland forest. The reindeer sleigh ride was so much fun. They actually went surprisingly fast at times. The homemade crepes and berry jelly were delicious. The farm owner was friendly and explained many things to us. It was really interesting and you can feed and pet the reindeer. It was so worth it!! Thanks Raymond and the Beyond Arctic team! Definitely recommend your agency!
Me and my husband had a wonderful time with this tour. The guides were very friendly and welcoming. They also include photographs of the experience which was very nice to have . I will recommend friends and family to take this tour if the visit Finland.
My daughter had wanted to meet some reindeer for her birthday, and this trip did not disappoint. Sara was a very friendly and helpful guide, and the farm that Beyond Arctic chooses to use for the visit was excellent; it was good to be able to talk with the farmers directly and interact a little bit with the reindeer. The ride (in -15 degree weather) was surreal! The drive out and back was not too long, and afforded some great snowy forest scenery. Highly recommended. We were lucky to be sitting up the front of the van so could hear Sara's comments easily and ask questions -- but those in the back may have had a different experience. After taking a couple of these van trips with different operators, I wonder if a microphone/PA setup of some kind wouldn't be a helpful addition.
Seeing the reindeer and being able to feed them after the ride was really awesome. The food was good and the hut we were in was nice and warm eating and learning more about reindeer. The ride itself was very serene and beautiful during the early morning hours.
My son and I never experienced temperatures below -25 degrees celsius and I was a little bit afraid this activity would be a little bit too rough for my 6-year-old. But he coped well and fed the reindeer after the ride. I thank Jana for her very interesting and detailed accounts of live and costumes in Lapland and, of course, the sledge-ride was beautiful. It was a sunny morning and nothing comes closer to a winter wonder land experience than having reindeers carrying you on a sledge!
Very cold but we had good time. The scenery is beautiful! Though was hoping to get more information and introduction in the car and before we took the ride. A bit rush when arriving as we have not really prepared then we were told to sit on. And after finishing we should have more time taking pictures with Reindeers before going inside for the snack.
