After we have collected and dressed our guests with professional winter overalls and boots, your Aurora guide will drive you far away from Rovaniemi, straight out to the wilderness to start hunting for the Northern Lights. If the forecasts and Aurora predictions are not promising around the Rovaniemi area, your guide may take you up to 350 kilometers away to get a better sky. This excursion is a 7-hour Aurora hunt, you will get the chance to visit several locations in the middle of wilderness. If the conditions are not favourable anywhere in Lapland, we will cancel the tour and issue a full refund for you. This adventure will also offer you the unique opportunity to drive long distances through Lapland. Focusing on pure Northern Lights hunting, during the tour, we will provide you with hot drinks during short stops to keep your energy level sufficient. Your guide will be equipped with a camera. Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, so unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we may not always be able to observe them. In such cases, you will receive full refund! The tour is considered successful when we are able to capture the Northern Lights on camera during the experience.
Amazing experience, our guide Thomas made the evening. He was experienced, knowledgeable and successfully hunted down the northern lights. It was great having a small group of 8. The spot we stopped for photos and the bonfire was perfect, I would recommend this tour company and guide.
We took two aurora tours with Wild about Lapland (one that lasted 7 hours and the other one that lasted 4 hours). In the first tour which lasted 7 hours we could see some northern lights. Although we have not seen them so clearly, our guide did his best to drive us as far as possible to places (until the Russian border) where we had a certain amount of probability to see the northern lights. The second tour that lasted 4 hours was amazing as we could see them very clearly after a 1 hour drive and the pics we took were stunning. In total, we were very happy with both tours due to the efforts taken by the tour guides.
With clouds above us my sister and I never thought we would see the northern lights but our guide Matus drove us 3-3.5 hrs away from Rovaniemi to spot clear skies. And then the magic was right above our heads, a day that we will never forget. We recommend taking the longer tour with WildAboutLapland for better chances, they do everything to make your dreams come true.
The highlight of our trip to Lapland was definitely this tour. They gave us all the required information and tools to go on the tour. Zhania, our guide, was excellent. She was extremely considerate of each participant's needs and always responded to our inquiries and interests. She led us to two locations where we could take in this natural wonder while she took countless pictures of the entire group. Highly recommended. 10/10
Absolutely amazing experience! We did a small group tour with Micheal as our guide, super friendly and knowledgeable. Was a cloudy overcast night and he persisted and persisted at multiple spot, until we got excellent views and photos of the Aurora and northern lights. All gear was included as well as dinner and snacks. Excellent experience would highly recommended.
Wonderfull experience, and we had a lot of luck: our first try and an immediat success. Our guide Gabor find the right perfect spot on the first try and took a lot of incredible photo, always kind at every our request. Tasty snack near the fire with local sausages and bread at the end. Recommended!

We did this tour with Gábor and we had a great time. When Rovaniemi was very cloudy, he took us to a place with no clouds and we were able to see the Northern lights, even though the activity was quite low that night. We had a great time and I warmly recommend this tour. It enhances your chances of seeing the northern lights a lot when the weather isn't stable.

We Booked the tour on 6Dec23. We were a challenging group, as we were 6 adults and 6 children and we want to really thanks Carlos and Alberto for magnific experience. Despite we did not manage to see the lights (captured however by the camera) we expend a really lovely time. We get 3 frozen lakes at beautifull lapish nigth and we have a suprisinly nice dinner in a traditional tippi bbq. We have bread, saussages, mashmelows and chocolate. Guides were amazing, really kind and absolutely children friendly. We have small kids (4-5 years old) and Carlos and Alberto managed to made them be confortable and happy. We did three tours and loved each of them! On our first day we did the Northern Light Hunt and were so lucky to see them. The second day we went to Korouoma Waterfalls seeing the unbelievable nature and took an amazing hike. Our third tour led us to the Huskyfarm with a 10km Safari. Furthermore we could choose to eat vegan sausages during our tours - what was great :) Thank you so much for these unforgettable memories! Blurry photo and route not optimized to see the aurora, no aurora borealis for us because we stay 20 minutes around Rovaniemi and the photos are unusable. At the meal, you have 1 pork sausage and a sort of mini Wrap-Naan, I recommend that you do not go on this activity if you have little time in Rovaniemi (example: 1 week) and you really want to see the aurora boreals.
We booked the 7-hour northern light-hunting adventure and had the best experience of our lives! It’s mainly because we were lucky enough to have the best guide! Jonathan! We came from Levi to Rovaniemi and tried to hunt multiple times the auroras there, but in vain. Jonathan picked us up from the reception desk of the hotel we were staying, and we embarked on the most magical hunting experience ever. His knowledge of the northern lights and how to hunt them is endless!! He shared with us valuable information when it comes to predicting where and how we can see them, and of course, granted us with the most magical sight of the northern lights. Let me tell you one thing if you are obsessed with auroras and want to make sure you will see one, book this adventure and ask for Jonathan! He will do the impossible during the excursion, AND make sure you see One!!!! The car was very comfortable, and during the drive, Jonathan explained to us many cultural facts about Lapland! Highly recommended! We have chosen 3 activities with this agency and could not make a better choice: - 1-hour snowmobile safari with Jordi - Snowshoe hike with Macarena - Northern Lights Wilderness Tour with Thibaut The guides are knowledgeable, passionate, kind and funny. Tours are for max 8 people, you move with minivan and the price includes Arctic suit and boots. Driving the snowmobile for the first time having fun but safely, taking a ride in the middle of a wood full of snow and learning how to light the fire, going in search of the northern lights, waiting for it and being amazed in front of it were beautiful experiences made special by being a small group where for the guides you are a person and not a number!
The excursion was very satisfying. At the beginning we were a bit discouraged because in Roveniemi at the starting point it was snowing, but about thirty km north (via the guide's app) we reached a site where the sky was clear and we witnessed the show of boreal authors for at least an hour. The guide was professional, took many photos and good quality. The site also had a heated tent with brazier where we enjoyed local sausages and drank hot tea. I would say a more than positive experience
The hunt for the Aurora Boreal was amazing! The Maca guide was extremely attentive and prepared at all times, in addition to the sympathy in passing knowledge about the Auroras!

What a wonderful adventure to go hunting for the Northern Lights with Diana Abroad! I was pleasantly surprised by his enthusiasm and professionalism. I had the impression that she was just as excited to see the magic of these lights as much as we were. We drove far enough to get away from the lights of the towns or villages and oh what a joy to see this light show and end the evening around a pleasant wood fire grilling sausages. Diana is a true aurora borealis hunter but also a fantastic photographer! Our smiles and our joy remain immortalized in magnificent photos Thank you Diana! You're great
We did two excursions with them, the one with the motorcycles was incredible and the one with the northern lights, although we didn't get to see them, it was a great experience, thank you Carlos for the treatment! You are a crack!
