Aurora Borealis Trip In Lapland Lakeside

We experienced this trip as a family of 6. We booked it through Santa’s Village Info Tower and they were very helpful. On the day, a guide came to pick us up and took us to 1 spot. We were lucky and it was clear skies, the KP index was good and it was a dark place. We waited around for a while, then our guide found a faint line in the sky! We were lucky and the northern lights came out! We proceeded to the next spot where the lights were even brighter and the guide got some amazing pictures of us. He was very knowledgeable and had good English. Finally, we went into a little private (for the company) cabin where we had hot blueberry juice, sausages and marshmallows! Overall, a lovely experience and would recommend to others.

We took the Aurora Borealis Trip in Lapland Lakeside by Sunny Safari and Andres Rojas was our guide. He picked us up from the hotel lobby punctually and drove us to two lakesides to hunt for the Northern Lights. He made sure that we were able to see the northern lights with our handphone cameras and took pictures of us with the northern light as a background with his camera. He is an experienced guide who knows the good places to view the northern lights. He provided good service and we had a campfire, barbeque hotdogs and hot drinks to keep warm while waiting for the northern lights. He made the trip very enjoyable and fruitful. We are thankful to have him as our guide.

We did this trip, and on another day, their ‘Top 3’ trip (which included huskies, reindeer and snowmobile). On both occasions we had a really great experience. The thing we really liked is the small groups- each mini van seats 8, so even though we met up with one other group at each place, it was still one tour guide to maximum of 8 passengers. This gave it a very personal touch. On the Northern Lights tour, it was very cold, and unfortunately we didn’t really get to see the lights, however it was still an interesting Finnish experience, being on the frozen lake, and in the hut, with the fire going. The Top 3 tour was so much fun, we enjoyed all 3 activities, and really can’t fault anything.

Very nice tour, we saw Aurora Borealis, it was cold but had no problem with it. Excellent guides, delicious sausage cooked on fire!

Worst tour, 200 euros and no chance for lights they should cancel, the driver was not Profesional and speed the van carrying 6 people crumbed, very bad

This was amazing! Andres the tour guide knew exactly where to take us to have the chance to see the northern lights and we did! It's an incredible experience! We loved the attention, the information provided, everything was amazing. We strongly recommend this tour. Andres was on time to pick us up, explained the tour and then took us along the group to see the northern lights.

horrible experience , no chance to see the lights so ever , it was snowing ,(they should cancel ) the place we arrive had a lot light pollution and it was not even dark as they claim .then we gather around a fire with hot dogs ,along with other people. on the way back , our driver belongs to another country , not in Finland , the way he was driving , slip couple times and packed 6 people in a small van with no seat belts ,particular in the front ,that seat us (total 3 with driver) I don't recommend that company , collect all that money with no results .

Unfortunately it has been a very bad experience with the team of sunny safari. Although they knew it was cloudy they did not let us change the reservation for the days afterwards. There was actually still place but they said there was not ( while we could see on the calendar there was still free slot). They told us to call the day after to change the reservation but the day after they did not pick up the whole day. When they finally asnwered, they said it was too late to change the reservation while.there was still place on their calendar. Of course we came back earlier while we paid for 4h...Many tours advise u in advance or let u change the day in case of bad weather...so I would not choose them again!

Very enjoyable tour. We only had one time on which to go and we appreciate the honesty to the staff who told us the conditions that day where not ideal. Fortunately the conditions improved dramatically and we got to see the Lights. Thank you to Luigi for his enthusiasm and humour.

Best northern lights experience of our entire trip! Shoutout to Luigi for giving us such an amazing trip! He was knowledge and supportive and made sure everyone was comfortable, warm and informed. The lights were amazing and the best we had seen on the entire trip!! Would highly recommend!

We did the Aurora Borealis Trip in Lapland Lakeside (4h) in the beginning of November, and it really wasn’t that great… - The best part of it was Luigi, our guide, who was a super nice and friendly guy. He explained us briefly how the aurora is formed and how to take pictures of it with our smartphones. So thumbs up for Luigi! - Also, the location and the lake where the cabin is seem to be a good location for spotting the aurora, if you are lucky for it to appear in the short time you stay there. - Everything else was not really that good. The least good fact was that the company organises multiple tours at the same time. So at the lake we were probably 4 groups who met there at the same time. We were around 20-30 people gathered inside a cabin waiting for the Aurora to show up, so naturally it was quite a noisy mix of languages that was making it feel like you are inside a market. So it was really too crowded and this aspect was not clearly specified in the activity description. - The barbecue consisted of 1 thick hot dog which you had to cook it yourself on a stick. Don’t get me wrong, this would be a fun experience. But when there are 20-30 people trying to cook their sausage on a relatively small fire, it kind of looses its charm. We also had some warm berry juice or chocolate, and a couple marshmallows. - Also the activity lasted for less than 3 hours (probably around 2 hours and a half at most, including the drive). - So overall, even if it is one of the cheapest aurora tours, I am not sure if it is really worth it. I think you may be better off paying a little bit more for a tour with fewer people, and lasting for a little longer.

Great trip. We have seen the light, so it can’t be better. Luigi is a great guide. Hé drives the bus, makes a warm fire, tells About the northern light, makes pictures and answerd all questions.

We had a great trip to FInland to see the Northern Lights. Never experienced the pristine beauty of snow covered cities. the sighting of Northern lights was amazing and we werelucky to see it on our 3rd tour attempt. the people are very friendly at Sariselka and Rovaneimi and our tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeble . overall it was a fantastic trip.

Fantastic! Great guide Luigi, great food and were super lucky to see a spectacular aurora over a frozen lake. 10/10 recommend.

We had the best viewing of Northern lights on our tour with Oren from Beyond Arctic . He is a great tour guide and knows his subject very well. He gave us deep insight on everything about Northern lights . I would give him 5* . He took us to 3 locations until we spotted the Northern lights and he took professional pictures of ours with Northern lights.

We spent a week in Rovaniemi and did our first aurora tour with this company. It was just ok. Overalls, some snacks, pick up and drop off are included. Our guide was also friendly but if you really want to see the lights you have to chase for a clear sky. If the activity of the sun is not high enough, then you are just going to be on a frozen lake and that's it.

We had an amazing Aurora hunting last night with Gabor and Belen and we really couldn't find better ones. Gabor made fabulous photos and he helped us in find the best spot to see the Aurora. We had a wonderful evening thanks to you guys and the memories will last forever. If we will come again be sure that we will come to you again!!! Thanks Belen for your kindness you are so special!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to see the northern lights, and although we did not see them, we enjoyed ourselves immensely because of our tour guide Miquel. He was very well informed and was able to tell us all the stories about the place and the landscape. He also provided us with food and made everyone feel comfortable. He took amazing pictures of us at the lake and we enjoyed the tour because the place was very beautiful too. Would recommend opting for the tour and asking for him as the guide.

Our guide (paula) was super attentive, he was telling us curious things, even though we could not see the auroras because it was very cloudy, made us have a good experience. If I came back I would definitely book with her again. A charming Galician😜

Lucky to be able to enjoy the auroras. The truth is that the place invites it! The hot cranberry juice and sausage they give you during the excursion puts the body back together from the cold.

We had a super good experience with a well organized pick up at our accommodation, warm clothes and a bus ride out to a nice place to see the northern lights. We were lucky and had longer-lasting northern lights and good pictures as memories. Nice opportunity to get warm around a fire with catering. Lots of good atmosphere and an absolutely fantastic way to spend an evening in Lapland.

We were very lucky, it was a night with many auroras. A dream come true. Our guide Andres very friendly and helpful. Definitely a great experience 100% recommended.

Excursion qui manquait d'explications, les guides n'ont été là que pour le transport et nous servir à manger, ils n'étaient pas du tout passionné par ce qu'ils faisaient. Si nous n'allions pas vers eux aucune explications n'étaient données.je ne recommande pas. Les seules choses positives c'est que l'on peut rester au chaud avec les enfants et faire des aller retour vers le lac pour regarder les aurores et que l'on est dans le nuit noire avec un ciel étoilé et que l'on a vu les aurores.
