Great experience into a snow covered forest. View was stunning. Sausages a great way to finish before the walk out. Sabu did a great job. Cheers
What an amazing tour! Oren was our guide and he was truly fantastic. He was very friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. Whilst driving us to the wilderness trail he was telling us facts about the areas we were passing. On arrival at the trail we kitted up and began our walk. And wow! what a spectacular walk it was. Oren spent time at various spots to take photos of us, and to give us information about certain elements of the forest we were walking through. At the top viewpoint stop we were given delicious cinnamon buns, hot chocolate and warm blueberry juice. Oren took many photographs of us along the whole route. It was a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you Oren for a wonderful day.
We had a great tour on Ranua Wildlife Park, special thanks to our kind guide Oren who told us many interesting informations about the region and took amazing photos. We recommend Beyond Artic and hope see you guys soon in another opportunity.
we had a fantastic tour with Meri. it is an absolute recommendation for everyone. gladly again.
The Rauna zoo was spectacular. A walk through the wilderness. Our guide Oren was just great. He made sure we were comfortable and was polite, informative and patient all through the tour. Highly recommended.
Did a couple of tours with this company, they were very professional and extremely helpful and approachable, always willing to answer any questions. Marcus was amazing, he helped from the outset and reassured us about the tour of the Northen Lights, the photography from Matti was outstanding and Finn was amazing in taking us to find the lights. Thanks again to you all. An amazing trip!
Very nice tour. We had lovely weather and lots of snow. Nice hike and campfire with snacks. There are good places to take beautiful pictures.
It was great. The hike was beautiful. Ryan the guide went a way that we could avoid most of the large groups that were out in the woods. He did a great job and was very nice.
Thank you Oren for the fantastic tour. We had a great time, we enjoyed the scenery, the snow and the food. The photos were great!
Our guide Oren was very helpful and fun to talk with. He made sure we had the right clothing for this adventure! This is our first-time experience and did not know what to expect. But Oren made it a pleasant memory. The hiking itself was not as hard/cold as we thought. We loved watching him making the fire and we liked the food he prepared for us. He also recommended other activities that we could do in the Rovaniemi area. He took great photos of us. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
Our photographer Johanna picked us up and took us to a magical winter wonderland to capture some family photos which we will have for a lifetime. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us and the memories made through the photography session were all perfect.
We went with two other people for a beautiful walk in the forest with Oren, dynamic and attentive guide. We took a lot of nice photos and had a great fun. Thank you oren for all.
It is a fantastic experience. Ryan took really good pics of us. And I love this activity and the sausages are delicious. Also you can see beautiful view and get some fresh air from the forest.
Very nice day tour to the Frozen Waterfalls Korouma! … Joanna was a professional guide and took us to this magical place in the middle of Finland. definitely worthy!
Expedition was an unforgettable experience. Emilia, our guide for this activiy, was always available to help and telling about Finnish traditions. Extra point for the BBQ stop! 100% recommended.
This was the best tour I did (our of four) in Rovaniemi. Braulio was accommodating and very knowledgeable. I knew it'd be nice, but (being a California girl) I didn't know how absolutely breathtaking this seemingly untouched trail would be. First, I recommend using the Beyond Arctic's snow suits. We all invested in bringing our own snow parkas, pants, etc., but the snow suit is the way to go. Despite being 5ish hours, it didn't seem that long. The terrain changed as we went higher up. Braulio had timed it so we had wonderful light during the whole trek. His pictures are stunning. I appreciated his photography since my hands were too cold to take off my gloves and fiddle with a camera. I'd recommend doing a private tour, so you can go at your own pace. My 10 year old daughter joined us and had no trouble keeping up.
We recently did this tour and it exceeded all our expectations, from the time we were picked up to the very end. It was not at all difficcult, even in deep snow, (thanks to boots and clothes provided) we meandered our way through pristine white powder snow amongst the tall pine, spruce and birch trees. Coming from Australia this was not like anything we had seen or experienced before. Being a photographic tour there were plenty of opportunities to take photos and even get help. The serenity and peace was majestic. Away from the crowds with just 7 in the tour it was the best way to fill a day in Rovaniemi. Beyond Arctic were so helpful and responsive booking this and Discover the Northern Lights tour before we left home. They run very professional and organised tours that cannot be faulted. I highly recommend the company and the tours.
We’ve made the Korouma Frozen Waterfalls tour. The experience was really authentic! Our guide, Braulio, was prepared, kind, a very good guide. The tour was a walk about 7 km around the frozen waterfalls, the panorama was great. A suggest this experience!
We had the opportunity to join a team for a daily walk to korouma falls, everything was perfect i strongly suggest to attend this tour. Braulio, our guide, is really kind and prepared, he drove us to the location and gave everyone who need useful advice about exposition, composition and photo tricks. He spoke a very good english, making every member of the team comfortable and able to understand every single word. Really kind, always ready to take picture of you with his or your personal camera as to spot best place to shot. Definitely a great experience, we walk for 6 km more or less with no rush, we stopped every time we want to get pictures, we all felt relaxed enjoying the beauty of lapland nature. Beyond artict can provide every clothes you need, you'll be warm in any condition from boots to head. So, well done Braulio, it was really a pleasure to share this experience toghether, go on this way, i really appreciate this tour and i strongly suggest to everyone (even with children)
I did this tour on the cusp of Autumn/Winter, when there was hardly any snow. I believe this tour isn't worth running in these conditions. Tour group was small, a husband & wife who were rebooked from a cancelled tour, one was an amateur photographer, and me at a professional level. Overall, I don't feel that this was a genuine photography tour - more of a guided hike, that wasn't worth the advertised price. While the tour guides were nice on my day, they seemed to be more hobby photographers than professionals/published photographers. The location isn't that far off the beaten track. The majority of the trip was spent walking through the same bland terrain of tree trunks (without interesting opportunities to push one's photographic skills). The main lookout wasn't anything special a location that had been photographed many times before, midday light didn't provide any interesting opportunities. I was hoping to leave with a small body of quality photographs to capture the essence of Finnish Lapland. The amateur photographer was also quite bored. Out of desperation I shot the river crossing next to the carpark, that was the most interesting part of the day. I did voice my disappointment to the guides, and they made an impromptu stop at a frozen lake on the side of the road which was beautiful and appreciated. While snow would have improved the vistas, the tour structure could be improved with the addition of some interesting stops that push different techniques (long exposures, sunsets, etc), and more considered time of day / lighting conditions for these, would be something better marketed as a 'photography tour'. Packed campfire lunch was good, toasted cheese sandwich and sausages. My opinion was shared with the owner at the time.
Markus our guide also uses the Sony DSLR camera as we did which is very helpful. Gentle hike up the hill and climbed up a viewing hut where we had wide views of the land. Many photographic hotspots. At the end of the hike, Markus set up the fire at the BBQ site and thats where we had our lunch. Very nice to have hot foods and drinks when the weather is zero degrees.
Enjoyable trip with my guide Mr Markus. He explain the nature, show you where to take photos,⁰ cook food for you and lot more. Ask him anything especially on aurora!
Greg led us on an exceptionally beautiful hike around the Korouoma to see the frozen waterfalls. It was a relaxed and well paced hike. I am not a hiker and I really enjoyed the beauty of the path. The toasty melted cheese sandwiches and sausages by the fire were also really welcome when I started freezing. The staff at the store were also so accommodating and hospitable. Absolutely recommend it!
Juho is a brilliant operator and even better photographer. We completed three activities with Beyond Arctic and had a fantastic time on all of them. Juho took us into the wilderness on our photography tour, Marcus on the Ice Fishing and then Bralio took us on a Northern Lights adventure the following night!
Markus was our guide and was a perfect balance of social/friendly without being overbearing. He took us on a nice cross-country tour on forest skis which we'd never seen, but were great for the powder and maneuvering through forest trails. Having grown up around snow and downhill skiing I had no idea that I would struggle to stay up on these skis and was pretty embarrassed to fall within just a couple minutes. Markus did a good job reassuring me that I'd get the hang of it, which luckily I did. We did the tour with another couple we traveled with and all 4 of us had a wonderful time. We enjoyed a beautiful snow storm while out with giant flakes and the sausages and juice provided that we cooked over a fire hit the spot. We loved the pictures that Markus took and emailed to us...my only suggestion would be to let guests know that he'll only be sending a few because there were multiple times that I was going to take a picture of something but didn't because I saw him taking one...but then we only got 5 photos emailed to us after the tour. I would have taken a lot more pictures myself if I had realized we would be provided with so few that he took. We love those that he sent though! I'm hooked and want to rent some of these forest skis here where I live next winter! Highly recommend this tour!
We visited the wilderness park on 25 February 2018 and Juho was our guide. I and my wife were only people in the group :) Juho was very helpful, carried his own camera and took so many of our photos and has sent today via onedrive link. He also helped in selecting my camera setting to avoid underexposed or overexposed pics. He guided us with relaxing pace, made barbecue for us in the forest and showed wintry magical and unspoilt places. I highly recomment this company!!
a good idea with sensational people! experienced guides and who guarantee a wonderful tour! It's really worth taking a ride with them! 100%!
2 of us went on the wilderness photography tour with Juho, booked through Wildnordic, on 2 Nov and the tour was amazing. Juho was a great guide and a fantastic photographer who took some amazing pictures of us and the scenery. Juho makes the best barbeque flat bread ever. The toast with sausages and hot berry juice gave the hike an even better experience. Would like to add that equipments and attires provided were as good as new and worked amazingly. You wouldnt feel cold in those at all. If you want a very cosy and less commercialised tour, beyond artic is the way to go. we tried a few other tours but this one was one of the best we got in Rovaniemi.
I would like to say massive thank you to you guys. We went for 2 trips, Northern Lights and Into the wild trip to see the Lapish nature. Both trips were fantastic, starting from the tour guides who are so nice. They make you feel so welcomed and be part of the team. The huge advantage is that groups are small, and you take people as far as possible to make sure they will get the best experience ever. On our Northern Light trip we went almost 100km up north from Rovaniemi, we stopped in 3 places, and finally in the 3rd place we have seen an amazing dance of aurora on the sky! I have never seen anything like this and I will recommend you to every single person who will come to Lapland for holiday. Thank you! I want to add, dont worry if you dont have any camera with you, tour guides will take the pictures and send it to you for free. If you are looking for a real true experience, dont even bother with the main tours companies in the cities, who take as much people as possible, take you to the one place and if you lucky you will see anything. Beyond Artic do their best to find the perfect spot and you you wont regret it!
We had a wonderful experience, everything was lovely, the good weather and the snow still on the trees made the walk magical! Oren (our guide) was really nice and very knowledgeable! He explained many interesting things in addition to taking great pictures! The most beautiful part of the Tour was definitely a stop with hot chocolate and cookies accompanied with a breathtaking view! I highly recommend this Tour! Thank you Oren for your sympathy and kindness!
A fantastic experience! Oren, our guide, was super interesting and engaging. You can see that he loves his work and transmits it with enthusiasm. The ride was beautiful, with breathtaking scenery and lots of interesting information about Finland. In addition, he took beautiful photos of us along the way and the surrounding nature, capturing very special moments. Thanks to him, we experienced a unique and unforgettable excursion. Highly recommended, and a big round of applause to Oren for his professionalism and sympathy!
We did this tour together with Johanna and were thrilled. She picked us up from the meeting point on time and had packed a backpack for everyone with warm tea, pillows and many useful things. Johanna told us a lot about the forests and nature of Finland. That was very interesting and educational. At the end of the tour we had a BBQ in the forest. Johanna has always responded to our wishes and questions. The photos turned out great. Thanks for this wonderful trip.
The tour was wonderful. A small group (we were only four), winter forest, lots of snow, lots of photos and lots of fun. Oren was a great, funny, communicative, patient and knowledgeable guide. A stunning tour and a Hebrew speaking guide as a bonus. Thank you Oren! In addition, I must note that all the tours we hired at the company were very successful and of a high standard.
We were able to enjoy the professionalism of Beyond Arctic teams three times with the expedition to Korouoma Falls, Explore the Wilderness and Discover the Northern Light. Each of his expeditions were exceptional with excellent guides to advise us during our photos. As an amateur, they immediately made us take advantage of the potential of our device day and night. With beautiful pictures of aurora borealis as a bonus! The preparation of the campfire with sausages is the little plus to live a complete lappone experience. Many thanks to the whole team for his kindness and availability. To do without hesitation!
Although the auroras were not visible, we have to say that Johu was very professional and did everything possible to try. In addition, he was with each of the group, showing camera tricks, showing the best photography options... and since the auroras were not visible, he even proposed some curious and funny photos, playing with the lights of the fronts. It is very nice and we were talking about trips, photography etc... We knew it would be almost impossible to see them because of the weather of those days, but we had to try, and going with him was a success. The places he took us to were beautiful, especially an icy lake where seeing the auroras must be spectacular.
