Everything was well organized. The reindeer farm was a lovely piece of Finnish culture. Husky ride was a great adventure

Itinerary
Konttaniemi Reindeer Farm is family-owned farm, located along the naturally picturesque Ounasjoki River, only seven kilometers from Rovaniemi. Life on our farm enjoys a special atmosphere with the seasonal changes experienced on the Arctic Circle. Every day our lives revolve around reindeer, even if they freely roam the wilds for some parts of the year. As our guest at the Reindeer Farm, you will explore reindeer husbandry, its history, and the modern-day.
The enthusiasm of running dogs, the atmosphere of old days and the exoticism of Lapland. Meet the genuine Siberian Huskies, enjoy the environment and get thrilled by the speed of the sled! Arctic Circle Husky Park has operated next to Santa Claus Village for several decades. At the moment there are about 100 huskies in the park. And once in a while we’ll get puppies, so there is usually puppies or at least youngsters in the park. The focus of all operations in Husky Park are the dogs… Real, purebred Siberian Huskies and special attention have been paid to their well-being and natural needs. This can be seen for example in fencing placing, which is unusual in this kind of operations, and also in dog feeding.

Started the day with an easy pickup from the hotel. The tour guide 9 Feb was very friendly and a good sense of humour. Reindeer sledding was awesome - they have so much personality. It was about a 500m circuit and extremely picturesque. You either get a reindeer that is very fast and energetic, or more slow and you can take the sights in. From there you feed the reindeers and they love their snack time. Additional opportunity to get more photos and videos. From there you go inside and learn more about the history with a tea and biscuit. Afterwards it’s a drive back to Santa Claus village for the huskies. The huskies are really funny and energetic. Be careful when getting in the sled as it is slippery. It is a bumpy ride - the sled lifts from the ground and hits the floor so be mindful - not so smooth sailing however it was no issue for me, it was very fun and enjoyable. After the huskie sled, the owner of the huskies stayed back and told us more about the huskies and allowed us to ask any questions. Couldn’t fault the activity, it was amazing insight. Afterwsrds, you finish by the fire pit and have warmed apple juice and cinnamon biscuits. Yum!
My husband and I enjoyed this small group tour of the reindeer farm and the husky adventure. It had snowed the night before and snowed throughout our tour, which actually added to the experience. Our guide was Victor, and he was awesome; very friendly and knowledgeable, and did all he could to ensure the group enjoyed the tour. We enjoyed the interactions with the animals and the short but very pleasant sleigh rides with both the reindeer and the huskies. These rides are intentionally short which was perfect for us. Other tours offer longer sleigh ride experiences if that is what you are looking for. We wanted some nice photos and a pleasant, comfortable ride, and that is what we got.
We had great communication and our guide was fantastic. He had us everywhere we needed to be, on time, and was very well organized. He also answered a lot of our questions about Finland. Our only demerit is the experiences we had were a little short for the price so the value seemed off. However, it’s a very tourist heavy place so I understand that it’s not all within their control. I would rate more like 4.75 if that was an option.
Very artificial. The reindeer ride is ridiculously short and to feed them there is a fence and you spend no more than 5 minutes doing it. The explanation after is good, but definitely is not worth the price. The huskies ride was the worst, it is not in the forest, it is around the Santa Claus village, so you see fences, road lights and everything during the ride, it is ridiculous. The dogs look very mistreated, they cry and bark all the time. I have done both tours before in Norway and they were waaaaay different. I would definitely not do it again or recommend
We did the arctic animals safari and found it a little disappointing.... The reindeer park was lovely and really enjoyed it although jt wasnt a "self driving trip" as advertised. Someone walks the reindeer along whilst you sit in the sledge. But we all enjoyed the reindeer alot. Feeding then etc was fun and we learnt alot about them. The husky part however, was the most disappointing. It was at husky park in santa village. Nothing was as advertised and we felt more like in a conveyor belt to get in and hurry up and get out (as clearly the tour operator had another trip). The husky ride isn't on a proper sleigh but on wheels (this may have been due to not enough snow however). We didn't get a tour of the kennel. And the "unique chance to pet the dogs" involved one dog in the hut at the end where we had hot drinks and there were about 15 people to one dog. We didn't question it at the time as didn't know the tour had ended once we sat down in thr hut. No information was given by the guide. In summary I wouldn't chose husky encounter with this operator. You would be better off sorting it out privately if you want a truly engaging husky trip and perhaps a more private husky farm to have a nicer experience. Kids had a good time nonetheless but adults felt disappointed as the trip was falsely advertised.
Unfortunately the husky part of this trip was cancelled due to the weather but we were lucky enough to attend the reindeer adventure. It was a really magical day, we got to experience a sled ride and to feed the reindeers. The day ended with some tea/ coffee and lovely biscuits next to an incredible fire.
Thank you Alex ! Alex was an amazing tour guide. Alex is warm and welcoming to all. The reindeer farm was magical. The reindeer sleigh ride, feeding the reindeers and learning about them. The Husky Farm was good too. Going on a Husky ride then getting to pat some of the dogs and learning about them. Alex gave a good recommendation for a place to eat lunch at Santa's Village.
Really good to see how the animals weee treated. The huskies really do get excited when they are ready to run The talk from Hemi on the Huskies was really informative and delivered in a really nice way
Very good tour guide, easy to chat with and knowledgeable with a good tour of the village, although the only negative thing is, they wouldn't do pick up from Ibedcity hostel which isn't far to drive from the hotel they set for pick-up, but enjoyed the tour.
The tour was amazing. We were just 5 people which means no crowd :) expecially the reindeer safari was the best I wasnt expect that fast but unfortunately it was a short and quick ride
Excellent experience! We had so much fun and the team has been good friends with us the entire time making it enjoyable and fun. Thank you
This was a much anticipated tour for our family of four, including our two teenage children. We had high expectations due to the price tag and it did not disappoint. Pedro, our tour guide was lovely and it was a small group so we got around easily. The husky ride was the highlight although we also loved meeting Santa and the reindeer ride. The only disappointment was around 2 hours of free time in the middle of the day. This was a little long with it being so cold.
The reinders farm visit was very interesting both by the interactions with the reinders and by all the explanations about the life at the farm and the life of the reinders provided by the family that own the farm. The experience with husky was entertaining too. We were a small group (7 persons) so our guide Alex takes time to explain us about the life in Lapland, he was kind and disponible.
My guide Robin was very good as it was just me in the tour and he was always so kind to take pictures for me. I enjoyed the experiences as the animals are just so lovely.
This was an unforgettable experience!! Our guide was really nice and answered all our questions about reindeers and huskies.
The two parks are separated, we firstly visited the Reindeer farm (which was around 15mins from city center), we fed them and experienced the reindeer ride for about 1km, it was very interesting, fun and worthy. Afterwards, we were given some food and drinks, set by the fireplace in a nice wooden house, where the guide shared many stories and facts about the reindeers and wild animals in the forest. On the other hand, the husky farm was located in the Santa Clause village, and we can see small houses for huskies in the husky farm. The husky ride was about 10-15 minutes which was quite different from the reindeer ride, the road trip was longer and the huskies ran a bit faster. It was amazing to sit on a sled and see the beautiful snow view of forest. Also our driver Alex is so nice and we had a great chat with him.
Unforgettable experience ! We were met by Alex our "personnel" guide for the day as it was only the two of us for the activities. Both the reindeers farm and the huskies ride were amazing. We felt very welcomed, had the time to take pictures, ask questions, we also had drinks and biscuits etc ... Alex, our guide, was very nice and friendly and had answers to all our questions ! I would really recommend doing it as it is a once in a lifetime experience ! And the team at Nordic Adventures is really good.
Excellent customer service from booking to delivery. Robin from the Nordic Adventures team was exceptionally helpful answering questions from my over-excited 8 year old throughout the morning. I was so pleased to discover this was a private trip on arrival. Tina, the guide at the Reindeer Farm was lovely, kind, interesting, full of knowledge about her animals. The reindeer ride was exhilarating and the sled with husky's an absolute once in a lifetime experience which shouldn't be missed. Highly recommended. Worth every penny!
Unforgettable experience! Full immersion at the farm, plenty of time to discuss with the farmer, fantastic place... Huskys: Nice ride, it was quicker than expected ( pick of the season), no hug for puppies... Interesting explanations about the farm as well.
We were met so warmly by Pedro at our hotel. He was really friendly and engaged in conversation with us. Although we had a little detour due to not going to the right place, he was genuinely apologetic and reassured us that we would be there shortly. We went to the reindeer farm and I was really impressed with the venue, but also how knowledgeable Pedro was. He wasn't just a 'driver' he really added to our experience. We unfortunately missed our slot for the huskies, but another slot was secured and we were able to have a walk around SCV whilst we waited - which fit in with us really well. Huskies were really good. Again, Pedro extremely knowledgeable and engaged in conversation with us the whole time. Both rides were short - but enough. Plus, knowing the time of the experience, didn't expect anything more. We also got to pet a husky and feed the reindeer. All in all we really enjoyed this and would definitely book with Nordic Adventures again. Thank you :-)
The reindeer farm experience was amazing. We got to see the reindeer in their natural environment and had a short trip on a sleigh. Lots of really interesting information. A big shout out for our guide Albert he made it very special for us. Our morning trip had been cancelled which was disappointing but Albert turned it around for us giving us lots of interesting information, taking pictures for us and looking after us throughout the trip. Thank you so much.
Really well organised trip, our guide was very good. Reindeer farm was lovely, it was nice to feed them before our ride. Very relaxed and loads of opportunities for photos. Enjoyed the husky’s too, ride was brilliant but just felt a little rushed by the Husky park staff, it was a shame we didn’t have much chance to take photos of the ride. Enjoyed seeing the dogs though and we didn’t have to join the very long queue to enter which was a bonus. Overall great value as well, much less than our holiday agent was charging for a similar trip.
It was a great experience riding reindeer sleds, feeding reindeer and petting them. And also to learn a lot about reindeer in Lapland. However, good English is a prerequisite. It goes without saying that you can't pet huskys, but the sleigh ride was also great. We were also well supplied with apple and blueberry tea and cookies. A really nice experience-seehighly recommended.
The tour organized by Nordic Adventures Oy was really satisfying. We were promptly picked up by Mr. Jaco, who accompanied us first to the reindeer farm and then to the husky farm. Both experiences were fantastic and, if you have children, I highly recommend them. All were very friendly, kind and helpful to provide any kind of explanation. Special praise goes to our driver Jaco, who waited for us with great patience, told us many details about the tour and the places visited, and brought us back to the hotel on time. I'm mixed on this experience. I still put 4 stars because the staff was very kind but I found that the expedition remains very expeditious. The reindeer part is very good but much too short and the same for dogs we arrive put in the sled and it’s over... and the big negative for me is that I have big doubts about the quality of treatment on dogs sled... Apart from that, it's still fantastic scenery and unique experiences
Experience absolutely to be redone. The well-organized tour operator in particular our guide Mattia, very prepared and competent with explanations in detail has rest this experience even more unique. See you soon ❤️
I wanted to compliment our guide VICTOR.....a fantastic and very kind person....he explained everything to us in great detail all the guides carried out with him...very punctual on every occasion...HE HAS US I MADE VISIT ALL OF ROVANIEMI so as not to talk about the reindeer.. huschy..santa claus village.....HELLO VICTOR A HUG FROM ALL 5 OF US....AND THANKS FOR THE GIFT...A BIG HUG..
Great Service, in a beautiful location.... An agency that I season.. Nice experience with sledging. .
Szczerze polecamy my jako dorośli i nasze dzieci 5 i 9 lat.
Alex was a great guide! We had a great morning with him. Various activities and impeccable Service, we recommend!!
