This was a great tour with just the right amount of information for us. Our guide, Yoreh, was exceptionable. Very knowledgeable about Rotterdam, friendly and conscious of our needs. He covered a wide range of information without taking too much time on any single topic. He was fun and could answer every question. We were completely satisfied with this tour and highly recommend!

Itinerary
The (Mirrored) Art Depot of Boijmans van Beuningen, with other places in the Museum District. Here you will learn about all the museums and the Land of Hoboken.
Het Scheepvaartkwartier (Shipping Quarter) is a hidden gem of the outer city center; a place many Rotterdammers don't even know about. Here you will experience the open and wide feeling of this beautiful harbor city! From the side of the river Maas, you will be able to see Hotel New York, Steam Ship Rotterdam and Erasmusbrug.
The Erasmus bridge is the big white bridge, crossing the river Meuse (Maas) and connecting north to south. It is an icon to the city and here you will hear all about the Second World War, the invasion, and bombardment of Rotterdam.
In the Maritime District you find many last of their kind boats aging over a 100-years. We will walk through this open-air museum, and you feel like you're back in time!
One of the most important statues in the city of Rotterdam regarding the Second World War, at Square 1940, with lots of meaning and history.
The White House is a historical icon and used to be the tallest office tower in Europe!
The old harbor is one of the oldest harbors in The Netherlands and also very cozy! From here, we have a great view of the cube houses, which will see from up close at our next stop!
The cube houses might be one of the most famous sightseeing locations in the city. While we walk through the street of cube houses (Overblaak), tou will learn everything about the why, how and architecture. You will walk through the 'concrete forest' on the way to the market square.
After we visited the market square, we will end the tour inside The Markthal. This made Rotterdam extra famous and is a modern indoor market with lots of food and colors! We also call it our modern Sistine Chapel, and you will find out why!

Highly recommended with a local Rotterdam resident guide . Knowledge friendly and passionate about Rotterdam and its history. If you are on a cruise I would book a local tour rather than the overpriced cruise ship organised one . Approx 20 mins walk from the cruise terminal to the meeting point .
Yoreh was a superb guide who took us to parts of Rotterdam that we would never have visited without him. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about the city, its history and culture and it was a real pleasure to spend 3 hours with him on this really enjoyable tour.
Our tour guide was the best. He was passionate about his country. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. He was compassionate about the needs of the people on his tour. The entire experience was well worth the time invested.
Visiting Rotterdam for the first time, I wanted to learn more about this major city in the Netherlands. I can’t imagine a better tour guide than Yoreh from RotTourdam who is one of the best walking tour guides that I’ve had. He is both personable and incredibly professional providing his group with the fascinating history of this exciting city. He takes his responsibility seriously in educating us about the effects of WWII, the diversity and exciting changes to this vibrant city in recent years and provides wonderful suggestions for ways to enjoy and experience the special parts of this city. The 3 hour tour flew by and based on Yoreh’s recommendation, I explored two other suggested places that he mentioned during the tour and plan to do some others tomorrow. I highly recommend this local young man who will educate you and help you enjoy Rotterdam much more.
Our Guide Yoreh was brilliant ,being a local he full of great facts and knowledge of the area , we recommend him to anyone who was interested in learning about Rotterdam. Lee & Debra .. UK
We had a great two-hour walking tour of Rotterdam with Yoreh from RoTourDam, together with our eight-year-old son. Yoreh showed us both the old and new sides of the city and shared lots of interesting stories about Rotterdam’s history, architecture, and urban development. The tour was fun, relaxed, and really informative. Yoreh was super friendly, happy to answer all our questions, and made the two hours fly by. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Rotterdam. We'd happily do it again!
Guide was excellent. Native of Rotterdam and full of lots of interesting information about the city. Long walk, but times to rest built in, particularly in the 2nd half. Had pictures to show what he was talking about. Recommend to anyone new to Rotterdam.
We just completed a fabulous walking tour of Rotterdam with Yoreh. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! We had a such a great time. It was one of the best walking tours we have ever taken. We highly recommend this company.
Our tour guide, Yoreh, was amazing! His knowledge of the area and its history, combined with his passion for sharing it, made for a really great experience.
What an interesting overview of the city, its history and architecture! A lot of walking so be sure you are fit and able.
It was easy and rewarding to follow our guide because of his excellent communication skills and his perfomance. He was clearly committed to his subjects and to his hometown Rotterdam. In addition to delivering all relevant facts he was also a guide with his own judgement which made our tour all the more interesting.
Great tour, great tour leader who was very knowledgeable and informative. I would recommend this tour to any visitor to Rotterdam.
Myself and 3 friends went on the 3-hour tour which covered a great variety, including history, architecture, and town planning. Even though I was brought up in Rotterdam, I learnt many new things. Yoreh knew his subject matter very well, was interesting and funny. He engaged with us rather than just talking at us. Communication before and after the walk was also very good.
This was an excellent and very thorough tour of Rotterdam! Our guide Yoreh was amazing and very knowledgeable! He took us to many of the best spots of interest around the city and showed us many historical pictures. He was very helpful and provided great tips! Highly recommend! Thank you!
Excellent tour! It was such an enjoyable and meaningful experience, and thanks to Elmer’s engaging and insightful guidance, I learned so much about the beautiful city of Rotterdam. I appreciated the stories and knowledge he shared throughout the tour. It’s also a great way to experience the city and to show Rotterdam to your loved ones (when they come to visit). Thank you, Elmer, for such a nice experience! Highly recommended! :)
We really enjoyed this tour, led by Elmer. Even though we were briefly rained on, the tour was great fun. We learned a tremendous amount about Rotterdam’s history, dating back to the religious leader, Erasmus. Elmer, who was raised in Rotterdam and is fluent in English, shared several great stories and insights into the city, supported by a number of historical photos and illustrations. We learned a great deal about how Rotterdam has evolved since it was bombed during WW2, the stagnation of the downtown “triangle” in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, and the rebirth of the city since the 2010s. Elmer is very personable and took the time to answer questions, even sharing conversations he had had with his grandmother about the Nazi occupation. Very interesting and informative. I highly recommend this tour.
Elmer was very knowledgeable about Rotterdam and kind. I will highly recommend him for your trip to Rotterdam
Excellent information on the city and WW11. So much information as well on the architecture. An Excellent tour.
We were on a cruise ship; the meeting spot is about 30 minute walk from the terminal. (Near the Art Depot) Yoreh did an excellent job telling the story of Rotterdam’s recovery from WW2, and also culture of Rotterdam. The architecture is fascinating- both old and new. The pacing was good, with opportunities for a restroom and snack. Highly recommend.
My husband and I took this walking tour when our cruise ship was in port for the day. It was an amazing way to see a lot in a short amount of time. Our guide, Yoreh was great! He set a nice pace for the tour while providing an in depth history lesson about the city. We highly recommend this tour! It is worth your time and money.
What a great tour! Yoreh did a really good job of explaining in detail, without being boring, the history of Rotterdam. His pictures helped bring old Rotterdam to life and gave context to what we were currently viewing. The pacing was good - fast enough to get to a lot of the city but slow enough that we were never waiting for anyone to catch up. I would definitely recommend.

Our tour guide Yoreh was wonderful. He shared pictures and gave us a detailed description of the sights and history. Highly recommend!!
Our guide was excellent! His knowledge and enthusiasm was very impressive. As a local growing up in Rotterdam he had unique perspective of the city. He spoke very well and had extensive knowledge of the unusual architecture and history. His visual aids and photographs explained things so well and added to the experience.
Loved it! Yoreh is an excellent guide and helped bring the city alive for us. Fortunate to share it with several other lovely strangers too.
Yoreh was one of the best tour guides we have had the pleasure of experiencing on a guided walking tour of a city. He was knowledgeable, funny, and provided us a general overview of the evolution of Rotterdam over several centuries. His enthusiasm about Rotterdam was genuine. He also had many illustrations and pictures showing the development of the early city, before and after pictures of the city after the WWII bombing, and future development plans. He brought Rotterdam to life for us.
It was wonderful. Guide was so knowledgeable and his love for his home town was contagious . His pictures helped his stories
Yoreh was outstanding. Well prepared and versed in the Rotterdam history
Excellent tour. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Great personality and sense of humour. We loved everything he shared with us, including all the ‘tidbits’.
Lots of history of the Netherlands and especially Rotterdam. If you are interested in WWII, this is for you! Also architectural highlights old and new.
Elmer sent messages day before with all the information as to where to meet. Helpful details as to toilets enroute of the tour. Elmer was punctual had good information and large photos of old Rotterdam. Good pace of information and walking. Tips on how to use water taxis and places to visit which we will use during our visit
Fabulous! We had a group of 8 with Elmer providing the tour. He was great! Very knowledgeable and interesting. The pace was perfect with a nice little break in the middle of the tour. We saw old, new and water sections of Rotterdam.
This was a really great tour overall and introduction to Rotterdam. If it's your first time visiting (or if you have visited before, but haven't really explored), I'd recommend it to get your bearings straight and to introduce you to the city. Our guide (Elmer) was not only very informative, but he was ready to listen to questions and answer it thoroughly. I had a lot of questions about not only the history of Rotterdam, but about the culture and he couldn't have been more helpful. He also told me about the newly opened Dutch Photography museum, which upon his recommendation, I went to visit a couple of days after the tour. I definitely recommend taking this tour if you have the chance to do so!
Great overview of Rotterdam history and tour of modern city. Elmer was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.
Excellent walk and tour around Rotterdam. One of the scheduled attendees cancelled, so we had a very small group, which allowed us to stop in a really small local coffee shop midway through the tour. Fun and engaging conversations with our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about both the founding history and the role of the city during WWII.
Elmer was a top guide. I ended up having a private tour because the other person who booked didn’t turn up. Elmer was full of amazing historical and architectural facts. Highly recommend coming to Rotterdam and booking through this tour company. No complaints, cracker day :)
We met Elmer, he was so passionate and knowledgeable, wr asked to tailor the tour so we could see more of the harbour and he gave us so many interesting facts and local views, a must tour if you want to understand the journey of Rotterdam
Fantastic walking tour! Full of knowledge and enjoyable. Worth doing for sure.
The tour guide is super informed about Rotterdam. I loved how he focused on Rotterdam during WW2 but still pointed out the landmarks in modern day Rotterfam.
What a fantastic experience walking around the city taking in all the major sites with a knowledgeable and friendly guide! I highly recommend doing this as early during your visit as possible as you will learn about other things you will want to be doing around town.
The tour guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and interesting. I learned a lot about the city and saw interesting sites. Highly recommended.
Elmer was amazing. I learned so much about Rotterdam and he also shared some excellent restaurant recommendations. Thank you for a great afternoon
Yoreh was our tour guide today. It was only my wife and me and Yoreh's guided tour was fantastic. Yoreh gave us loads of information about Rotterdam. History which we were not aware of and how difficult it was for the people of Rotterdam during the German bombing and invasion. Yoreh's knowledge and enthusiasm was phenomenal. Yoreh always gave us useful tips of museums and places to eat. I highly recommend this tour as we now have a list of things to do over the next few days
Yoreh kept us thoroughly entertained and engaged during the three-hour walking tour. I learned so much about Rotterdam's history and attractions. He also recommended good locations to take photos and places to eat. I have taken a lot of guided tours and this was one of the best. Wear good walking shoes; you will need them!
Great experience, Yoreh was bright spot on a cold and dreary day. He has an excellent knowledge of his home city, it was great to see and hear about the transformation of the city post war as well as the future projects and plans for Rotterdam.
Great, visualized and very informative tour with Yoreh - all you need to know and much more - Thanks!
My wife and I enjoyed a tour of the highlights of Rotterdam with Elmer of RotTOURdam. He was very well organised with a portfolio of photographs and fact sheets to give background to the many places we visited. His English was excellent and the four of us (two couples) thoroughly enjoyed the whistle stop walk. If you want to see Rotterdam in 3 hours this is the tour for you.
Elmer was very friendly and excited to show us his home city! He was very informative and enjoyed showing us the diverse architecture of Rotterdam. We did follow his recommendation for the best Apple Pie in town which definitely lived up to the hype!
As well as being a pleasant and friendly person, Elmer is an excellent guide. He was very well prepared and showed great enthusiasm and motivation in showing us around and telling us about his city, Rotterdam. We learnt a lot about Rotterdam, its history, its activities and its mentality. The time flew by because it was so interesting. We highly recommend Elmer as a guide for discovering Rotterdam.
