Booked this for my son and his friend while they travel through Europe. It was not as described and although it was inexpensive, it should have been free. Pretty disappointing.

We enjoyed this "scavenger hunt" escape game as a way to explore Rotterdam. The story line was entertaining, and the clues led us to all kinds of interesting things to see. Some of the puzzle solutions were just a bit too obscure for us, but the hints helped solve them. We did have some trouble with crowds and construction sites, we were there on the King's Birthday holiday, and many streets were madhouses of vendors and people partying. Working our way through the crowds slowed us down and made some of the clues harder to find, on a different day it would be easier. I would like to see more information about route and distance to be traveled. As it turned out, we didn't have time to finish the game, which was a bit disappointing. The distances between targets were more than we expected, and we didn't hurry when we should have. What we did complete was fun and interesting, and we're going to investigate what other exploration games are available from Questo where we live.
Great way to see all the top spots of cultural/historical importance in the city with in an interesting way. A little bit too long for my senior parents, but we took our time and got through it with quite a few breaks in 2.5hrs
It is a very nice tour in which you see things you normally would not notice, or at least would not know the meaning of it. Some directions were not very clear, so we walked some extra meters.
This game is a great way to see and learn about Rotterdam. We only had one day in Rotterdam so we took the train to Rotterdam Centraal where the game started. We saw so many cool places and were able to stop half way for a lunch at one of the many restaurants along the route. I definitely recommend this if you have kids and want to tour the city, go at your own pace. and learn but also not pay as much as you would with a tour guide. One thing to note is that the game ends about a mile from Rotterdam Centraal so plan your travels accordingly.
We visited Rotterdam on a cruise for the day and wanting to explore on our own, we love escape rooms, treasure trails and found questo. Great app interface and ensured we saw places we wouldnt when just roaming freely. Have recommeded to friends and we deffo use Questo on our next trips.
This was such a wonderful Questo 😍 I got to experience so many different parts of a wonderful city, while never feeling lost 💋 Difficult clues made me really focus on the details of each and every destination. I have already planned to do 5 other Questo's during my trip through Europe, and am looking very much forward to them all! 😍
It was a great family experience. Ideal for discovering the city in a rather original way. But a small drawback: the explanations are not clear enough to orientate oneself, lack of details and landmarks, too bad! We appreciated being able to pause the game and then resume whenever we wanted (time for an ice cream and coffee break for example, or even shopping). Having said that, we had a great afternoon with our family, I recommend it.
The game was an great way to get to know the city center. It would take more than 1h30 though. Also I found the instructions for going fron the cranes to the city hall lacking, we went few times in circles and the kids were ready to give up.
It had been impossible to start Questo City Experience sinds the trip die nog start as announced on my phone
Exciting Quest with a comprehensible storyline and a lot interesting attractions of Rotterdam and a lot of information about the town.
My favourite part was the surprising things we discovered in a city that I know for ages. One tip: know where the location is (using googlemaps) because the instruction were not always correct!
Nice to explore the city like this. Points you earn are not really reliable. But overal it is fun! I would do it again.
A nice quest wich brings you to spots you normally would pass when walking towards your going. The old Harbor is an amazing place in Rotterdam where the quest ends where you can come to rest with some drinks on terraces looking over the harbor. Absolutely perfect!
It was an interesting, fun and educational game, but sometimes the route could have been a bit more clear. For example, by saying in which direction you stand, like “ standing with your face to the statue, go to the first street oh your legt”. So you know which the right way to go is.
The private tour with the phone app Questo was great! I really enjoyed visiting the sites and learning the history of the city. I think the trip could've been longer, stretching from Centraal Station all the way to the Euromast. It made the exploration of the city a lot of fun. Most of the clues were understandable and easily solved. A couple were a little difficult, but manageable with some help. I really liked the word puzzles and I think there could've been more puzzles with some of signs around the Cube Homes and bridges. I wish it were longer!! Awesome experience.
As locals, we thought this quest to be fairly easy. Well, we were a it wrong. The way you have to study the architecture and artworks shows that passing an artwork 200 times in a year isn’t enough to really know it. We also enjoyed the historic facts given in between the quests, some details were new to us. The quest visits many populair locations, but does not force you into the really crowded areas all the time. We really enjoyed it!
Had a blast on this quest! Very enjoyable and took us to most of the sights we wanted to see. Would love to try more in other cities.
Very interesting and really fun! Had a really good experience and we are definitely looking forward to trying Questo in other cities!!
I did the Quest with two Teenagers. It made them walk through the City for more than two hours without being bored 😁 it was fun and we saw all the interesting places. Not that the two boys cared too much about the historical information you get, but well. I recommend doing the quest and will definitely try other city quests.
Came across this app with a few hours to spare in Rotterdam whilst waiting for a Ferry This provided a brilliant way to explore the city. There are clues to solve which provide fun for all the family. Each destination also provides information to educate the visitor on the history of the city and the particular landmark in question. Points are awarded for finishing. It seems that the quicker the time the more points awarded. If you want to try for a high score speed is of the essence. We preferred to take our time and learn a little more about the city on our way round. This is an excellent way to explore. Rotterdam is a lovely city and the harbour area in particular is beautiful.
I was in Rotterdam on business and over a weekend. I wanted to walk the city and came upon this app. It was easy to download and easy to use. I got ‘stuck’ with one of the clues, but sent a message and received an answer immediately. I got to see several landmarks and architecture. You do this challenge at your own pace. Since I had the whole day I toured the cube house and stopped for lunch at the old harbor. I ended the tour near the Markthal and spent the rest of the time shopping. I recommend this challenge. I will be looking for this app in other cities.
This was a great activity, well worth the money. Once you've downloaded the app it takes you on a walking tour of the city taking in some of the main tourist attractions but with puzzles built in. You can complete it in an hour or two if you go straight from one clue to the next or you can take your time and explore the different locations whilst you're there. Fun for all the family!
It was a lot of fun! Reading the instructions carefully helps 😉
Had a great day with the city trail Rotterdam! You will get to places where you normally don't go so fast and through the questions and the explanations to the answers you will learn some of it! Clear route and space enough to have a nice coffee, lunch or a drink on the way.
It's not working. Suport absolutely not fit for purpose. Then gave up eventually. It's too bad. Surely not again next time.
Very nice adventure to discover the essential points of the city! You can take the time to discover each point because the time stops during discoveries. The stories are super well done and the explanation points are very understandable. For the little ones, the stories are too long but they love to follow the adventure. I advise the game from 10 years.
I didn't enjoy the game at all because I was misinformed. So I paid for nothing. The tourist service of the station gave us a map to visit.
It was a fun experience! I'm 19, and I went there with my dad and we had fun together! It helped us see the city
The game didn't open so we couldn't play it. I couldn't reach anyone in the Netherlands, and had to go to a foreign lady who couldn't help me either. So unfortunately very dissatisfied. I haven't got my money back yet either.
Basically, I find this type of scavenger hunt innovative and interesting. What was annoying for me, however, was that when I wanted to pause, it wasn't possible. So the game was over before I reached the end.
Nice way to explore the city, so we saw more than we would have done without it. We just didn't read the story around it after a few parts. Probably more fun for kids. The history you got was interesting.
A really great and exciting city tour. We saw parts of Rotterdam that we would never have been to otherwise. Despite that, we also visited all the important places. We would be happy to do it again in the next city.
The GPS directions were very approximate, indicating the left when it was the right, crossing a bridge that doesn't exist, etc. Very disapointed. In addition, incomplete names are not taken into account, even though it is not our country. I think there is a translation problem because it was not always very clear.
Great route-many highlights, we saw a lot and had to think around the corner - well done
Was okay, in the end we only played on one device anyway.... If you download the Questo app beforehand, you can also get the games for just one device, which is cheaper. 10€ the most expensive game routes! I would rather recommend than on compulsion to buy the game at least for 2 players.
Basically, the puzzle tour is a great idea, but we were more prepared for a story about the sights than about the 2nd. Wltkrieg.
A nice way to explore the city. Using clues you walk from point of interest to point of interest and look for answers. Sometimes a left/right confusion; sometimes you have to see from the point of interest, sometimes from yourself looking at the point of interest. One time it didn’t say which way to go in a street, but you could get out by reading on and looking at the map of the city. The story you got to read in between was long and didn’t matter much to us. We just enjoyed searching for the answers and unlocking the route further. In that respect, ours may be the approach for a new route. It then goes from point of interest to point of interest, tells you something about it in brief, preferably something that is not in booklets, you look for the answer, type it in and you unlock the route to the next point of interest.
Definitely a fun way to explore the city. In itself, the route is easy to follow, but we still thought twice, because it was not entirely clear whether we should turn left or right after finding a clue.
Die Tour war spannend (auch geschichtlich) und gut aufgebaut. Auch die Hilfe über die App war super! Ohne die wären wir teilweise nicht weitergekommen.
Nice visit and nice game. Small problem of guidance, some landmarks are almost invisible or poorly explained. Fortunately map guidance is possible but loss of XP...
Very good walking tour with exciting information about the Rotterdam of the wartime. Unfortunately, the German translation was not always complete, so there were sometimes difficulties in understanding. But a really good entry to Rotterdam from the train station to the port...
Leuke route , niet te lang, langs alle bezienswaardigheden via een leuk verhaal. Zeker te moeite waard.
Nice alternative to the classic city tour. Unfortunately, the audio file was not running. The tour was well chosen and we enjoyed it. Thank you again.
very great tour. we had a lot of fun editing the questions and also learned a lot about the city.
Great game that makes us see things we would have missed without this one. Cheap, and top!
The tour itself was great! The only drawback was that the entire tour and description was in English and the translation was sometimes difficult for the rest of the family. So the information about the individual stages, which were actually great and informative, was not noticed. But we would also want to get to know other cities and this way.
