The pictures are deceiving. The rooms look much better online than they actually are. In reality, the room is very basic and quite small and, in my opinion, feels like a 3 star hotel at most. The most ridiculous thing is the lack of sound insulation. I have rarely experienced anything like it in a hotel. It is now 3:15 a.m. and extremely loud music from a party outside is still blasting into the room. There are people making noise in the street, and I can hear everything clearly even with the windows closed. It is literally impossible to sleep. For a hotel in a busy city centre, some street noise is understandable. But the level of noise coming into the room is completely unacceptable. The windows might as well be open. The gym was also under renovation during my stay, which was another inconvenience. Considering the price and the expectations created by the hotel’s presentation, I expected a much better standard. After this experience, one thing is certain: never again. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who expects a decent night’s sleep or anything close to a genuine 4 star experience.

My stay at the Postillion Hotel was perfect. The room was wonderfully spacious with a high ceiling. During the heatwave, the automatic air conditioning was a relief: it kept the temperature just right, making it very comfortable to sleep. The service is excellent; the staff is very friendly and even checked in via phone to ensure everything was to my liking. The breakfast is delicious, and the bar offers a wide selection of drinks and snacks. With the beautiful view of the Bijenkorf and the ideal location, this hotel is highly recommended⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I booked this hotel mainly because their website advertised air conditioning, which was extremely important during the heatwave in Europe. However, upon arrival, the staff told me they do not actually use proper AC, but some kind of temperature-dependent system. My room was unbearably hot, and I could barely rest or sleep. On top of that, the fridge in the room also did not work properly, so I could not even keep drinks cold. When I reported the issue, the staff simply said there was nothing they could do. Very disappointing and misleading experience. If a hotel advertises air conditioning, guests should be able to expect a cool and comfortable room especially during a heatwave. I would not recommend staying here in hot weather.
I was very disappointed with my experience, especially considering that the hotel presents itself as pet-friendly. I arrived in Amsterdam with my two small Chihuahuas at approximately 10:30 PM. After checking in, I had to leave the hotel to find something to eat. It was raining heavily, and most restaurants in the city had already closed their kitchens. Less than 30 minutes after my departure, I received a phone call from the hotel informing me that there had been complaints about my dogs barking. This was quite surprising, as my dogs are generally very quiet. They only tend to bark if there is significant noise near the room, such as people talking loudly in the hallway, passing directly in front of the door, making noise in neighboring rooms, banging on walls, or creating heavy footsteps overhead. I also found it unacceptable that, despite the hotel advertising itself as pet-friendly and charging an additional fee for my dogs, no basic amenities such as a bed for them were provided. I found it disappointing that such a situation was handled in this manner, particularly so shortly after my arrival. As a guest traveling with pets, I expected a more welcoming and understanding approach from a hotel that advertises itself as pet-friendly. Because of the way the situation was managed, I did not feel welcomed or comfortable staying at the property. As a result, immediately after receiving the call, I returned to the hotel, collected my belongings, and decided to leave. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the level of hospitality and consideration I expected.
Good gym. Nice rooms but… The Ac was broken. The dial didn’t work so the room was hot. The TV didn’t work. We ordered food in on our last night. Didn’t think we should eat in the lobby and went up to our room to eat but were called by the staff and were told we couldn’t have more than 2 people in a room at a time even though we paid for two double occupancy rooms and were trying to be respectful by not eating in the lobby. Love Rotterdam and the Netherlands but didn’t feel welcome here. Don’t think we will be back.
