Check in was poor for a 4* hotel. We dragged 4 suitcases to 3 different rooms on different levels only to find they were not the executive room we had booked. The final room allocated seemed to be ours from the start as there was a personal welcome card. After a 24 hour flight... Not ideal. From numerous reviews here we would recommend scrapping the self check in as it doesn't work. Breakfast.... Where do I start? Ok so no butter left on 3 occasions and offered to wait 10 mins or to have vegan butter. No spoons, no mugs, no bread to toast, bacon drowning in oil, watery yoghurt and no quark, dirty plates in the clean pile, the sour cut fruit which was inedible, hard boiled eggs not in bainmarie hot but cold, tables not set or cleared or the hot water urn that we saw many people nearly burnt with whilst trying to operate. Not to mention the large sporting groups singing chants (aka pub style) in the crowded breakfast room and food running out by 9.30am despite breakfast going till 10am. One staff member was trying but very defensive and reactive rather than proactively organising. The others were standing chatting mostly. When asking if there was another toaster available was attacked by the manager Sareem. We were told it was bad luck and to wait. The poor gentleman before us had waited 20 minutes. The manager said it was not her problem and that he should be faster. The airconditioning was nearly non existent and we spent the hot nights sweating. We reported it and handily got a loud fan that you couldn't sleep with. We couldn't see in the hotel and asked for an additional light. The lovely staff member did try however after many reports had no success. Annoying to have to book room cleaning daily. This is a 4* expectation surely? From previous reviews the tea cups are tiny. We asked a staff member for two larger ones from the bar and were refused them. We were not notified of a test fire alarm, though many others were. This resulted in running down 9 flights of stairs and was quite shaken after the experience. We were offered one drink voucher post the negative experience. The good points, if you can see past the bad... The location is excellent! Clearly understaffed and cleaning is poor. They need to focus on increasing staff numbers and on training in customer relations, I would also suggest replacing the breakfast manager as the staff under her would have done a much better job! We did overview much if this with the new manager however were asked if there was anything he could do for us... On the way out the door! Refund of breakfast might have been a good start!

I’m going to start with the things that I didn’t enjoy first as it is very minimal: the air conditioning in the room. It wasn’t very clear to figure out, however, once it was tended to, our stay became infinitely better. With that out of the way, the hotel staff were all lovely and super helpful. In particular, they reconfigured the revolving doors to allow me to wheel my drum kit in and out of there. Just to give you an idea of the lengths they went to make our stay amazing. The breakfast food was incredible and diverse. They provide you everything that other hotels provide their guests upon arrival (minus body wash). Their beds were very comfortable in our experience and not uncomfortable to sleep on. And the hotel is very strategically located in walking distance to the Rotterdam Centraal Station. There isn’t a lot to say about the hotel that you wouldn’t find on other good hotel reviews. There isn’t much of a language barrier between staff and guests as the staff are fluent in both Dutch and English but there were a few moments where communication wasn’t smooth. But those were very rare instances when they occurred. I would recommend any primarily english speaking guest to have a translator option on your phone ready as it makes navigating everything easier. But aside from that, everything was very easy to follow along with and the service was great. I would rate it 3.9 out of 5, and I definitely would stay here again if I ever came to Rotterdam.
The hotel is in a very good location to explore the city. The check-in was smooth and the staff was super nice. Unfortunately the room was not cleaned well though. I think the cleaning staff was rushed. I arrived at 4 pm for check-in but the self check-in desk said "room not ready yet"(check-in starts at 3pm, so it should have been ready). The lady at the reception made a phone call and 5 minutes later the room was ready. Not a good sign... The room was located in the back of the building with a window facing the green courtyard. It was quiet, which was very nice. Unfortunately the mirror had fingerprints all-over, the glass shelves in the bathroom had water and soap stains, the area under the sink was dirty, the tissue box had dark short beard hair on it (I don't have a beard). After showering I realised a red stain on my towel. I checked my body but had no wounds, then I noticed the stain was hard and dry already. I thoroughly checked the bed and thankfully it was clean, so I could sleep in it. I only stayed one not, so it was okay. This hotel has potential but it really has to work on it's cleanliness. I paid 110 € for one night, which is a good price for Rotterdam in summer, but I expect it to be clean.
Nice hotel. Wonderful staff. Street noise will keep you awake. Room Air Conditioning is inadequate. We required a room fan to make it tolerable. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Shower stall could use a safety bar. Good central location with many attractions within walking distance
Check in was seamless. Plenty of staff on hand to assist with the self check in process. Professional and courteous. The hotel itself is very clean and modern, however my room was quite dated and was in need of some attention, certainly not to a 4 atar standard. The room was also quite small. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of options available. Location was excellent, right beside a metro station for easy access to the whole city. Everything is within walking distance too which is a great way to see the city. Overall I enjoyed the stay, albeit disappointed with my room for a 4 star hotel. Hotels are not cheap in Rotterdam and my stay was no exception.
