Rotorua Canopy Tours: 2.5hour Native Forest Zipline Adventure

A very warm and welcoming team who taught us lots about the wildlife and most importantly made us feel safe during such a fun day!

A wonderful experience along with a beautiful canopy walk May I make one suggestion? The company did not take photos of us actually flying through the air on the canopy zip line or the bridge as your promotional advertising shows Apart from that it was wonderful

I was very sceptical before I booked this tour, as I am not a fan of heights, but my Daughter really wanted to do the ziplining, so I decided to give it a go. From the moment we arrived, Alec greeted us and I explained my concerns and fears and he made me feel so comfortable. Jacob lead our tour and he was also fantastic. Both guides were absolutely fantastic and Alec helped me on every part where I felt unsure and scared. He is the only reason I continued on each section. I was so nervous and he was there every step of the way. They were both incredible and I feel very happy that I decided to go ahead with the tour and that we had two amazing men. I feel so much accomplishment having completed the course now. Thanks team 😁

Wow, such a great experience. Our guides Steph, Emma B and joined by Miriam at the end of the zip lining, were so enjoyable, full of fun and very accomodating to those who were struggling with their fears. It was great to be able to share humour and have a laugh with them throughout the adventure. Their knowledge was fantastic, it was absolutely one to tick off the bucket list.

Such a wonderful experience - totally revised my feeling about zip lining! Started off scared to death and ended up loving it and never wanting it to end! Thanks so much to our fabulous tour guides for making this such an unforgettable experience!!

You get to walk through the jungle and the hiking isn't much, very reasonable and mucj, much less than other zip lines like in Kauai, Hawaii. The two guides are very helpful and patient. It was a lot of fun. This is my 4th time doing a zip line. My first time in New Zealand.

Our tour guides, Vincent and Lisa, were very engaging and educational while also helping us along the zip lines. Vincent was very funny and Lisa was very helpful. The zip lines overall were very smooth and fast, which everyone in our 6 person family loved. The tour was very fun and exciting and we loved the encouragement and tips they gave us, including flying like a bird and doing flips at the end. The conservation efforts were awesome, and it was really cool to get worms to feed the birds in our hands. Overall, the experience was amazing and we loved it so much.

Had a great experience with our guides, Steph, Miriam and Colby! The zip lines were absolute fun and the team made us feel safe and taken care of throughout the journey. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

My wife and I had an outstanding time in Rotorua and this was a big reason why. The forest that the zip lining is located within is lovely, and our guides Dylan and Reuben were very knowledgable about the area and biodiversity within the forest. They were also very comforting as it was our first time zip lining and we were a bit nervous. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an easy but exciting activity in Rotorua

This place was absolutely amazing. We loved it and the guides? Incredible. The guides names were both Emma, which made it easy for us to remember. In our (my family) opinion, we found the highest and longest ziplines were our main favorite. Thanks Rotorua Canopy Tours!

Amazing experience! It was a bit scary (for me, but not for the teenagers!), but I’m so glad I did it! The tour lasted about 2 and a half hours, which was enough time for 5 zip lines and a couple of swing bridges.

Awesome forest experience, the time went really quickly. Interesting group of people. The guides were fun and informative. They were really accommodating with pick-up and drop-off. I found the ziplines super fun; safety was paramount, and it was such an amazing experience being up in the treetops.

Absolutely amazing. Took a teenager a preteen and even my eight year-old who enjoy the experience immensely. These zip lines are fun enough to be adventurous but also felt safe the entire time. An absolute must do well in Rotorua.

Very professional and personalized guides who made us feel at ease through the activity. Recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of adventure with a neat review of bush management and rehabilitation included.

Our family group of 5 had a great adventure with Steph and Trevor. They prepared us well with safety guidance presented with humor. The van ride to the site was made fun by a shared "ice-breaking" introduction round. The safety harness was actually more comfortable than previous times I have ziplined. The safety gear for slowing participants on landing (or retrieving stuck ones) was also an improvement over other times (at other locations). We appreciate the free photos, rather than an upsell. They gave us tips on each zipline and bridge on how to get the most enjoyment. The kids were initially a little nervous, but quickly settled in. It was amazing to see them confidently step off the platform and zip away! They loved the bird feeding and were ready for more at the end. Our group of five plus another family of three was just the right size. The short presentation on the eco mission was interesting and raised our understanding of the beautiful forest.

Absolutely amazing ziplining experience….The location was stunning, the tour itself was very informative and the staff made the whole experience more enjoyable. Will definitely return next time I’m back in NZ.

We were picked up at our hotel beforehand and dropped off afterwards. There were 4our people on our tour which gave the guide plenty of time to give us very interesting local information. The zipwire was great. Very safe, we were well hooked on. I highly recommend it if you like this kind of thing which I do.

Emma and Jake were fantastic guides! Both are knowledgeable and funny. Being from Florida, my husband and I are pretty familiar with quick weather changes. We did not expect the heavy rain early in the morning to last the duration of this experience. Emma and Jake gracefully led the group, and it was extremely impressive how effortlessly they worked in the pouring rain. Everyone had a blast and the views while on the lines were unbelievable! The lines were the longest we've been on and even the guides knew that the whole group was light. Not a single person got stuck. Emma and Jake teach cannonballs better than lifeguards and swim instructors! 15/04/2026

Great to bond with the group on the short ride out. Made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Although I am scared of heights, I felt safe and supported the entire time. Would zipline again!

Had agreat trip with Alec and the rest of the team. Right from the start they made us welcome and explained everything in detail. I was thinking it might be a miserable experience in heavy rain but they provided great waterproof gear and the rain makes it magical in the forests so dont let rain put you off. The facitliies are great and the walk through the bush would be accessible to all ages and abilites. Nice to see the conservation work that's been happening and to see the bridlife up close. Great family outing if you havent done the ziplines I'd recommend it and will be back again.

We had an amazing experience with Rotorua Canopy Tours, from the original query about booking a group, costs, expectations and the actual tour itself. The customer service is second to none, given by knowledgeable, friendly, charming staff. Not only was it physically enormous fun, we learnt alot about the forest and its inhabitants. The tour guides were supportive, informative, accommodating and fun which made the experience terrific. Thankyou to everyone

Fantastic tour for our family to experience their first ziplines. The guides were amazing and there was great conversation and comraderie with everyone on the tour. I especially loved that we got to learn about the forest and the organization's conservation work.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first family hipline experiences. We felt safe, had a great time, and learned about the important work the organization was doing. I can not wait to come back and do the other zipline tour!

What an amazing day. I was absolutely crapping myself, but the guides were so patient, kind and reassuring. I for sure would have quit after the first zip line (just my own fears) if it wasn't for their gentleness with me, and am so glad I didn't, and that I got to enjoy this experience with my partner. 15 out of 10.

So much fun! The guides (Jake and Travis) were exceptionally good - very professional, knowledgeable and entertaining. An awesome experience with a great outfit.

This was a really fun experience, I was never excited to go Zip Lining except here. Our guides were really nice and funny, this was the first time I went on an adventure of any kind with people that actually what they are doing. I have to go back to Rotorua to try Zip Lining again!!!!

We had a wonderful time this past Friday, 10th July, on the Original Zipline Tour! A few years ago, we visited Rotorua Canopy Tours to do the Ultimate Zipline tour and had the best time, so this time we decided to go back to basics and try out the original adventure. My partner and I had so much fun flying through the beautiful native trees while learning about the conservation efforts in the forest. Our guides, Jesse and Unique, were not only knowledgeable but kept the energy up on our trip. Thank you for a fantastic visit :) Would love to come back sometime.

My parter and I did the original zipline tour on Friday the 10th of July. It was a amazing experience and our guides were amazing. The ziplines were exciting and the native forest around us was breath-taking. 11 out of 10 would recomend.

SO fun. Dylan and Phil were both very funny and made the experience even more enjoyable. Beautiful scenery and I learned about New Zealand’s native wildlife. I even got to feed a bird!

Had Natalie and Jake and couldn't have asked for better guides. Down to earth, knowledgeable, calm, experienced and nothing was a problem. Had our 6 year old with us who freaked on one of the lines, but was not at all an issue as Natalie calmly took her across. So grateful for the experience and loved how much they are giving back to nature as well with their trapping projects. Loved that our fees help contribute to conservation of this beautiful area. Loved the bird life in the forest too, needs a big mention to see Robin's up close.

We had a fab time! It is well worth the money. The staff are friendly and informative. It’s about 1hr 50mins when you take out the travel time - just right for my younger children. Groups are small so there’s little standing around waiting at each zip line. It was a bonus hearing about the conservation work and the efforts to support the native wildlife. I’d do it again - and I really hate heights!

Amazing experience and well worth it! Our guides, Sam and Lochy, were fantastic. They did an awesome job of putting everyone's nerves at ease, sharing plenty of knowledge, and keeping us laughing throughout the tour. Our whānau had an incredible time, and we'll definitely be back to take on the Ultimate Tour next time. Highly recommend!

Had a great time doing this zip line tour with Vincent and Lisa were great, explained everything well and made it fun and informative. You go along 5-6 different zip lines (honestly, I’d lost count) of varying heights and lengths. Explanations about what’s being done to conserve the forest the activity takes place in were also interesting and fun. Great way to spend a few hours in Rotorua. Is say it’s at the upper end of what it’s worth considering that this cost two of us almost $400, so keeping the prices lower will help to make this activity within range of families and locals.

Was really looking forward to this. Booked ages ahead of time to fit our very tight timeline. The day before we had a call to check in with us and make sure we are all good to go. On the day, check in was easy and quick. Fitting the gear was fun and easy and off we went with 2 other family groups. The drive there was quick and the guides were chatty and created a fun atmosphere. Don't want to spoil the experience by describing it in too much detail. All I can say is that after doing the original experience, we are super keen to book the extreme experience. I cannot fault this in any way. Thanks, I would rate it 11 out of 10

Amazing tour A must do in rotorua I was feeling a lot of nerve before going but it was not super scary it was a superb experience The guides were so helpful they made sure we felt comfortable and confident Our guides Vincent and unique were soo soo cool and amazing, made the whole tour 10X better Loved it Will 100% recommend

We had an amazing original canopy tour experience with 7 of us . It was seamless and well organised from beginning to end. Professional guides Lisa and Madson were a great team that put gentle humour into the experience and safety briefs. They put us middle aged woman at ease, and were great at remembering all our names. We loved learning about forest ecology and feeding the birds from our hands.
