From the depths of darkness and emerging into the world of light, our natural landscapes are amplified by Mārama. A hosted, carefully curated immersive lighting and outdoor walking experience. Let the melody of Maisey Rika, the collaborative sound of the experience, move you from the festival-like entrance, past the interactive artworks and down the valley through differing scene experiences. See the valley like you’ve never seen it before, with paths and geysers illuminated in a spectrum of light. Exiting through Pikirangi Village, having one final farewell to our very own Mārama lighting our night sky. Guests should allow around 90 minutes to fully enjoy Mārama. The experience runs Wednesday to Sunday, with gates open for four hours each evening and final entry available up to one hour before closing.

The staff were informative and helpful. Angel greeted us and started us off and then farewells us. The guys who were staff on the trail were great to chat with and learn more about the place too. The night walk was amazing with the smoke from the geysers accompanied by the music and laser lights. I wish I’d don’t the whole dinner buffet but we only managed the walk which was really enchanting. The hot rocks were definitely the highlight. As it seemed to be the largest body of water.
A wonderful experience full of amazing light and sound installations based in and around the geothermal features of Te Puia. The guides were friendly and helpful and the trail was clearly marked. Our kids loved it and we even heard some kiwi next to the trail. Well worth a visit!
I had unfortunately arrived late for the evening light show tour, but the team at Te Puia went above and beyond to make sure I still had an incredible experience. They welcomed me in and gave me my own personal guided tour, sharing the fascinating stories and history behind the park. Their knowledge and passion were outstanding, and it made the experience even more special. If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would! A huge shoutout to Tai for being my personal videographer and photographer throughout the walk, while also sharing so much interesting information along the way. You truly made the experience unforgettable. A big thank you as well to Tamiti, Angus, and Hope for your warm hospitality and exceptional service. Every member of the team was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making my visit memorable. Te Puia is an absolute must-visit. Thank you all for turning what could have been a disappointing start into one of the highlights of my trip!
We did the Marama night light show and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great experience. The Te Puia team were helpful and knowledgeable in answering our questions as we wandered around.
Expected much more. Much of the ‘walk’ there were no lights at all - yay for phone torches. Hard to read story boards. Geyser a
Fantastic experience, the price is not exepensive regarding the magical place. Excellent activity in family.
Walk to the geyser was a little disappointing and the geyser was actually harder to see because of the lights. It was majestic but hard to distinguish the water from the steam. Hot rocks seating was cool!!
Fantastic experience, well organised, informative staff and a beautiful set up. Worth every dollar..
Had such an amazing experience. Amazing night light and beautiful scenary. Such a breathtaking night. Would recommed this to go at night. Me & my partner love this! Very happy & we had a friendly customer service. She gave us discount as we are a NZ resident, so that save us some money. 😁
Friendly, helpful staff who explained everything well and who were located at various points throughout the trail. It helped make the trail feel safe and secure. Wonderful light show that highlighted the geothermal area. Enjoyed being able to go at your own pace and enjoy the experience.
The staff at Marama, Te Puia were welcoming and helpful. The evening was beautiful. The lights were amazing. We even got to see one of the geysers in action. A very enjoyable evening out. Well worth the trip.
Absolutely amazing, highly recommend for all ages. A phenomenal experience, alot of planning has gone into this show making what is already a magical piece of nature into something even more extraordinary. Just my husband and I went while in Rotorua celebrating our birthdays and wedding anniversary but plan on bringing more of our whānau here. 10/10 100% recommend this visit if you are in Rotorua, it is totally worth every cent and we were tired before attending the 9.45pm session but were totally energised by this beautiful blend of nature and light. ka mau te wehi !
Takes about an hour to go around possibly more if the Geyser erupts. Luckily we did have chance to see it albeit I think it would have been disappointing had we not done so
Omg this is a must do at night best experience walking this tour at night with the beautiful lights amongst nature to the soulfa boiling grounds feeling mother nature at her finest on a beautiful calm night
Stunning light display highlighted the beauty of the guisers and landscape. Definitely with family to visit. Thanks team
This visit is good for anyone who is interested in volcanic activity, geysers, and Sulphur Springs. It is also a center for Mori handcraft and culture.
Such a fun and unique way to see the geysers! Our group was small, which made the experience even better. The staff were so friendly and helpful. An all round awesome night!
It was quite a disappointment compared to how impressive it looked in the photos. We went at 8:30pm and it was extremely dark, with very little lighting anywhere except around the heated stones near the geyser viewing area. There were staff positioned around the place who greeted us, but that was the extent of the interaction. For $99, I expected a lot more. Personally, I don’t think it was worth the price, and the promotional photos feel quite misleading compared to the actual experience. More lighting and clearer expectations beforehand would have made a big difference.
the course is badly bent compared to all the other attractions in the area. Extensive use is made of laser lighting, which often means that the relief concerned is not seen. It's not a must do
