We were very disappointed with our stay, mainly because of the lack of communication and poor customer service. Before our arrival, we were never informed that it would be impossible to park near the hotel due to the town restrictions. As a result, after a 10-hour drive, we had to spend a long time searching for parking and ended up leaving our car far outside the city center. This delayed our check-in considerably. Even more frustrating, nobody told us that the hotel kitchen was about to close. By the time we finally arrived, we were told that the only food available was a plate of cold cuts. We then walked to another nearby hotel at around 9:45 p.m. Although their kitchen had officially closed, the staff there went out of their way to prepare us a wonderful meal and treated us with genuine kindness and hospitality. The contrast could not have been greater. The receptionist at our hotel made a small effort to help, but the restaurant staff showed no understanding or willingness to accommodate guests who had just arrived after a very long journey. Instead of acknowledging the situation, we were made to feel that it was somehow our own fault for not knowing about the parking restrictions in advance. Good hospitality is about communication, empathy, and finding solutions. Unfortunately, we experienced very little of that here. We left with the feeling that the staff simply did not care about their guests’ experience, which was extremely disappointing.

The Hotel was inconspicuous from the outside but stunningly furnished, and tastefully decorated in the public areas as well as accommodations. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great money - product ratio.
Nice rooms and great central location - having a Spa in the hotel is cool, but it was very very crowded and staff could take care better of the supply of accessories. Overall, the experience was good (4-stars) but would be 5-stars if the money for value ratio becomes better.
Goldene Rose definitely is one of a kind experience - situated in the centre of the old town of Dinkelsbühl you'll find a very pleasant hotel with probably one of the most fascinating spa areas I've experienced to date. The top three floors of the house have been converted into a sauna and relax area that's simply breathtaking. A pool with a view towards the cathedral is just the cherry on top. Other reviewers have mentioned that it can get overcrowded - while it seems that the hotel has been quite busy I didn't get the experience that the spa area was insufficiently spaced. My only critique is the breakfast diversity for vegans/vegetarians. I'm fully aware of the rather meat heavy Franconian cuisine but it would've been nice to have a few more plant based options. You'll find a massive variety of meat/fish options while vegetarians/vegans gotta rely on a rather basic selection of dishes. Like slides veggies, muesli, jams, etc.
Stayed as part of a road trip through Bavaria for our 25th Wedding anniversary. On arrival we were warmly greeted and given welcome drinks. We choose to sit outside on the little roadside terrace and soak in our surroundings. The hotel is right opposite the church of the main Marktplatz do there is plenty of people watching to do. We were then shown to our room by a lovely member of staff who congratulated us on the 25 years together. They had kindly upgraded our stay to the “Queen Vicky Suite” which was beautiful. We used the spa and wellness area with the open infinity pool overlooking the roof tops of Dinkelsbühl and a grand view of the local Storks! Truly a unique pool and spa! The hotel interior is modern and stylish and all the staff were lovely. One of my favourite parts of our trip!
