Hotel Schwarzer Bock is one of the best accommodations I have ever experienced. The owners are incredible! They are thoughtful, kind, and very friendly. The rooms are stunning, very comfortable, and equipped for long or short stays. They also accept pets and have friendly cocker spaniels that can be seen in the outdoor bar area!
Additionally, the restaurant is very charming and the food is great. All the food is prepared using organic ingredients, some of which they hunted themselves! The breakfast that is included in your stay is also all organic ingredients!
Finally, the location can’t be beat. You’re within walking distance of the mall and all the charming spots in the city center.
We loved staying at Schwarzer Bock! We recently moved to the area and stayed at the hotel for a full week while our place was being set up. The room was spacious and the building had a lot of traditional charm. Their restaurant is also amazing – it was our first German meal of our move... to die for.
Additionally, the owners were very kind and conversational. They were helpful with directions, the language, and ideas for enjoying the city. For such a big move for my husband and me, the owners made it feel like home. We really appreciated it.
We will be back for an anniversary dinner or two!
This hotel provided a fantastic stay. The staff was kind and helpful. Also, they were eager to assist you with whatever needs you had. The reception was closed for 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) during my stay. However, there was a young lady who was present to respond to guests. I am very happy with my stay and recommend this hotel highly.
It was a delightful hotel and restaurant located near the old city center. The dinner was romantic and delicious, and contained several regional specialties. The breakfast was exceptionally full. Our room looked over the rear gardens. The service was excellent - they were patient with my German and fluent in English. I wish the bed had a top sheet instead of just a coverlet and blanket, but that may be normal in Franconia.
This hotel is very very nice. Comfy beds and pillows. Nice bathroom and the extra bed space for my daughter with her own door was such a treat! She loved having her private space. :)
The owner and family were all very nice as well. Very welcoming and spoke AMAZING English. Highly recommend!
There is a little trick to get to the hotel if you are in a car, but otherwise everything was perfect.
