Best Western Premier Parkhotel Bad Mergentheim

This was a great holiday. I would say the highlight was the hotel's own swimming pool, which has very good opening hours and facilities. Families are also made to feel welcome, with a generous stock of floats provided and no restriction on times children can swim. (Note: younger children would be too short to stand in the water and require armbands for this pool, which are not provided.) Another great feature here was the balconies, which are totally private and overlook the musical fountain in the park, which lights up in the dark and features such hits as 'The Phantom of the Opera' (which I have therefore renamed 'The Fountain of the Opera'!). Please be very careful during your stay, as the water in the bathroom may suddenly become scalding hot, even when turned as cold as possible. This may go on for a few minutes. I was completely unable to establish a link to anything else; it just seems to be totally random. Although it just happened a few times briefly, I did burn my hand a bit. (We informed the reception lady at the end of our stay, so hopefully something can be done to improve this.) Nevertheless, I felt very welcome here and the service was excellent, so I have decided the hotel still deserves 5 stars, for a really nice and unique time. Thank you!

This hotel gets worse and worse service year by year. It was my 5th stay here during last 8 years. Good: Rooms are medium to big size. Bad:: It is mostly quiet, but cleaning staff makes it noisy in the morning.. Medium selection of breakfast compare to what they had 6-8 years ago. They only have 3 hot meat choices and all contain pork (I can not eat pork with my health reasons). Only 2 choices of hot eggs: everyday hard boiled eggs and scrubbed egg cooked on the steam or on the water. No milk in it, not soft. It is like baked. They could change everyday not to be so monotonous: for example, one day - hard boiled egg, second day - soft boiled egg, thirst day - sunny Side up fried egg. Poor choice of sweet baked food: plain cruasan and one cake like a muffin (first with no cream). In the evening, hotel's whole dining area and lobby and lifts get full of poisoning and disgusting smell of propane gas (seems, they use it for to keep hot dishes hot in the evening open buffet. It is poisonous for the human to breath it. I asked for a bathrob (which was not in the room) and they asked me to pay 5€ for bathrobe rent. I was shoked to hear it from best western, especially from this one, premier. There were no slippers also. I did not ask for it. Maybe they sell them? 🤔 No more room cleaning (towel changing) is prowided unless you request a day before (?!).

Unfortunately I have to share my dissatisfaction with the quality of the rooms - that are certainly not up to a standard of a 4star hotel. I keep coming back only because of the great seminar from Kruegenhaltz Akademie taking place there. The staff is very friendly and it's doing their best. However the rooms are a bit dissappinting. They would need some maintainance and repairs (see the picture of a handle), deeper cleaning (see the dirty curtains, there was also quite a bit of dust in the bathroom) and care (pillows don't event have duvet of the right size). Also, we were served meals with the seminar and there was not enough warm dishes at lunch & dinner - which has never happened before. That was not a great look at all although the food is very tasty. The hotel has seen better days, that's clear - however there are still many things that could be improved.

Next to a beautiful park in a quiet location there's a beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast is heavenly, all you can imagine - 6 types of milk, a bunch of different types of bread (don't miss out on the carrot bun), loads of choices with all their freshness.
