This resort was the ideal base for my first trip to Dominica. The surroundings are beautiful, lush, and peaceful, and the amenities (pool, spa, beach access, gym) suited my needs perfectly. I loved all of the personalized touches, like the private couple's massage class. Every staff person I met was kind, friendly, laid-back, and helpful. The restaurant is also outstanding. The included breakfast is extensive and delicious, with local staples like saltfish and bakes alongside international options like eggs and baked beans. The lunches and dinners were easily some of the best food I had in Dominica. Staying here was a good balance of comfort and authenticity. I felt like I was really in Dominica, not at a generic hotel that could have been anywhere. I would highly recommend Rosalie Bay for anyone who wants to experience this lovely island.

I had high expectations, but this place was a real disappointment. The location is poor, a long way away from the important hikes and sites on the island (e.g. the UNESCO world heritage sites) and the hotel charges huge fees to drive you back and forth to these sites (e.g. $160 per person to get to the Boiling Lake hike). Our room was spacious but tired, particularly the bathroom. The water pressure in the tub and shower were negligible. The fixtures were old and in poor condition. The onsite restaurant served decent food, but portions were small, prices high, and the service was disappointing. When we arrived my wife ordered seafood curry and asked for rice. We were told that there was no more rice. Really? You could not have cooked another cup of rice? Or offered pasta or potatoes as a substitute? But no, we were simply told "no rice" and that was that. That is a long way from the service one would expect from a 5 star resort.
Rosalie Bay Eco Resort & Spa is a hidden gem on the southeast side of Dominica. The room was spotless, quiet, great WiFi access, comfortable beds, and excellent AC. The onsite spa, restaurant, and gym make this a perfect spot for everything under one roof. The property is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful island. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Dominica. 🇩🇲
A Tranquil Escape at Rosalie Bay Resort My recent stay at Rosalie Bay Resort was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a serene atmosphere that made me feel instantly at ease. Nestled in a beautiful, quiet area, Rosalie Bay is perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The picturesque surroundings provide a stunning backdrop for relaxation, making it easy to unwind and recharge. The rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The attention to detail in the decor and amenities truly enhances the overall experience. Every member of the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile. Their dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay was evident throughout my visit. The resort’s spa offerings were a standout feature. I indulged in a massage that was nothing short of amazing—truly a highlight of my trip. The tranquil setting of the spa added to the overall relaxation. In summary, Rosalie Bay Resort is a hidden gem that combines comfort, exceptional service, and a peaceful location. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a rejuvenating getaway.
I personally thought that Rosalie Bay Eco Resort was a very special place. The abundance of vibrant and beautiful plant life that dawned and covered all of the property was extremely pleasant. The vibe was so tranquil, peaceful, and relaxing which is just what I was looking for. The fact that the decently wide (but fairly docile) Rosalie River is located directly to the North of the property and meets the Atlantic Ocean directly at the East of the property is something pretty special and serene. For me, being able to constantly see a point where the river meets the ocean is meaningful. And then that the beach along that same shore is traditionally where 3 to 4 species of sea turtles (Leatherback, Hawksbill, and Green) annually come to lay their eggs, I mean what more of a unique experience could you ask for? I wasn’t lucky enough to get the “midnight knock” on my door to wake me up to see this experience, but hopefully your luck will be better than mine and further into the egg laying season. There is a fully equipped and sizeable gym, a solid pool to swim in and relax by, as well as a full-on, high-end Spa that provides a wide variety of services to put your mind and body at ease. On the property itself, you actually feel like you have a lot of privacy, but at the same time, the overall grounds are relatively small and all the amenities are within a 5 minute walk no matter what unit you end up staying in. The Leatherback Restaurant on the property was also great! Due to foregoing a rental car at the 25th hour, nearly every meal I had over my 8 days was at that resort restaurant. And honestly, the quality and freshness was always present and there was easily enough variety where I didn't get tired of any of the food. It was legit and delicious complimentary breakfast, which seems to be getting more and more rare these days. The options for lunch and dinner as well as the drinks accompanying then were also always of very high quality. I loved the music they always had playing in there as well…definitely my types of jams. Lastly, I totally want to highlight the staff, which is what really sets this place apart! All the women at the restaurant are kind of like the soul of the resort…Danielle, Meelissa, and all the rest of those warm faces. Odette, Aisha, and all the girls at the Front Desk are so incredibly helpful and polite…in fact, I was down and out for a day or two with a stomach bug and they called my room multiple times to see what they could do to help and were brining me local fresh teas, etc…I thought that was extremely thoughtful and caring and greatly appreciated the gesture. And last but certainly not least, I must absolutely highlight the Ultimate Tour Guide, Zahir, who was able to show me a collections of some stunning natural locations throughout the course of 6 unforgettable tours. He’s definitely on top of things and is a great guy for sure. If you want a positive stay for your lodging with the perfect mix of relaxation and nature, along with as much optional adventure as you want, strongly consider Rosalie Bay Eco Resort…from what I observed, there wasn’t another place that nearly had all the qualities that this place did. Hoping to go back again at some point down the line. A memorable stay indeed! Best Regards, Matt Wright
