If you're expecting to see the inside of the Colosseum forget it. We were 5 minutes late due to traffic/uber the group coordinator called us we got disconnected, she never called back. So we missed out on everything. Money wasted.
Guide was very informative, clear voice and wanted the group to interact with questions. Very good tour, taking in many aspects of modern society today, to aide in explaining the way of the society of Ancient Rome.
I accidentally booked an Exterior Tour with this operator last minute and he refused to refund me. He said he could not refund because the “tour had already begun” however, immediately after booking the tour I began the refund process. Viator also offered very little help during the incident. The initial mistake was on my part but I encourage tourists to beware of this tour company, they were very unhelpful during this process. You’re better off finding a tour company with better reviews.
We booked a tour of the Coliseum, Forum, and Palentine Hill but only did the Coliseum. The guide was very knowledgeable on the history but expected to see the other sites
I booked Colosseum tour 20 days in advance to be canceled by the operator the night before. Hotel concierge could book the same trip that day for €800. Viator is a scam. The only thing my husband wanted to do in Rome was see the Colosseum. We stayed there that weekend for that Purpose. Customer service was terrible. I sat on the phone. I got an email that said someone would work on it. No one got back to me then I rebooked another trip online the day up to do an exterior tour. The tour operator left without us. I never got a refund for that either.
Terrible experience and so unorganized. Somehow missed my first tour even though I was in the right area 20 minutes before. They offered to join the next tour in 30 minutes but I ended up waiting another hour for it. Was not worth the money at all don’t waste your time!
Terrible the description when you book is misleading we booked tour of the colossuem and when we got there we were told this dose not include the entry and had to pay another £30 per person complete con and then we were told the tour was exterior only not interior and would have to pay more
It is a walking tour of the streets near the colosseum...nothing at all to do with the colesseum itself.
This was a huge waste of money. Spent more time viewing a nearby basilica than we did actually did the colosseum, and learned very little about the colosseum overall. Our guide just seemed bored.
We arrived at appropriate rendezvous point on time and no one representing arena tours or via tour have arrived. Only confusion at the meeting point.

The first thing, the tour guide was late. Although she was very knowledgeable about the material, she talked so fast and never stopped to give us a chance to ask questions. Really didn’t learn much more than I could have received from chat gpt.

We were given the option of an upgrade to see the Colosseum entrance €50 each which we thought was great. The problem being the trick we paid we never experienced?
We had to cancel because the tickets did not include admission ti the Colliseum and the heat was extreme.
The tour was scheduled for 9:30 AM. We arrived at 9:20, but we couldn’t find anyone. We asked the staff members with flags near the green booth, but nobody knew anything or could help us!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. We basically threw €50 away for nothing! Not only do you pay that much money for a tour that is ONLY outside, but then you have to somehow find the guide as well! A complete disaster and a huge waste of money. I am extremely disappointed! Please don’t waste your time writing comments in response to my review. Instead, spend that time improving your organization and making sure your tours are actually properly managed and professionally organized.
The address for the meeting place was wrong and I missed the tour
They changed the time of the tour, notifying us on WhatsApp which we don’t use. We never got the message and they would not refund the tickets. This is an exterior tour. You can get the same tour in 15 minutes on your own. Don’t waste the money. There is a reason this trip is non refundable and non cancellable.

Terrible experience! Booked through Trip Advisor who arranged with Arena Yours. Was booked for a 0930. Time came and went. NO ONE from Arena Tours had any identifying shirts or a flag. Made it hard to find out who was were supposed to meet with. All the other operators we questioned (who had identification and THEY did not know who was with Arena). Finally, found a guy handing out water who directed us to a gentleman had a sign but was sitting on a rock near the metro. At 930 the young lady tour guide we were assigned took our info. At 945, was told that we were delayed and that Trip Advisor said that we should have been informed, and it would be a few minutes more mostly likely 1000. 950 the Operations Manager Maxwell Karpazian told us that we would be delayed to 1015. 1015 we ask what is the delay, he said we should have been advised that we were to start at 1030. I asked then why would they not advise us at 930 because we had another tour scheduled after the one with them. Maxwell blamed it on Trip Advisor, told us nothing he could do. Had to leave to make the next trip. At 1025, no one from 1030 group was there when they should have been there at 1015. We could not be delayed past 1030 in order to make the next trip. USed Viator for 5 other experience, and Tiquet for one other. Fantastic experiences in Pompeii, Sorrento, and Positano with those operators. Buyer beware with Trip Advisor and their partner Arena Tours.
This tour was amazing!! We had the lovely Milo as our tour guide and he was truly so knowledgeable and had a real passion for history! Me and my friend came out of the tour feeling inspired to learn my of the Roman history and would highly recommend booking this tour! The exterior tour I believe was better as you were able to take your time and milo was able to explain more about the colosseum! Thank you Milo!
Malo was great! The tour was fun and exciting! The guide had a vast array of knowledge about Italy. The views and photo we took were stunning.
Tour was bought & scheduled for 10:30AM. Upon arrival, after trying to find tour guide, one of the members walked us to group, where shortly after the tour guide relayed the tour started at 10AM! Poor Viator scheduling, no notice, indistinct identification for the specific tour as there are many. The tour guide himself was phenomenal!

We didn't join to the group because we couldn't find them! Meeting was on the metro station but there was nobody! 54 euros for nothing! Give us money back!

I would NOT recommend this tour for multiple reasons: 1. It states that the colleseum ticket is not included - so I purchased it prior to the tour and told the person at the meeting point that I had purchased the ticket - she awknowwledged this and then provided no additional feedback - the ticket is timed. I assuemd the tour would go into the colleseum (my mistake), but the guide was only doing the outside and then you'd purchase a ticket. So I did have to leave partially through the tour to still be able to enter. 2. More imporantly though I was not upset to leave as the tour guide was both innaccurate with dates for signficant aspects and spent more time repeating the same thing than providing original information
Informative guide but everything you see you could just see for free. The opportunity to pay for entry into the sites is not available until after the tour and you have to wait in line to buy tickets with everyone else. You also do not go into the forum or climb palentine hill.
They need to control tickets selling ! This is historic place How many people can fit it You literally can’t see much with thousands of people around you
All outside of the colosseum, lots of history. Valeria was excellent, and made every effort to keep us in the shade when she could.
Although it was only the exterior we still learnt so much about the colosseum and forum!! Our guide Valeria was lovely and intelligent and we had a great time!

Having visited the colesseum previously, without a guide, I was absolutely pleased with the standard of the guide, the information provided and his indepth knowledge and delivery of his tour. Although the tour was only for the exteria of the colessium the guide ensured we received a high level of information ready for entry to the colessium. After the tour the guide dropped us off at the ticket office and we gained our tickets within 3 minutes. This tour is well worth undertaking and good value for money.

Not worth it. Read the advert before you buy, you do NOT get access to the Colosseum, a tour with a guide who likes his own voice and comedic value more than any history and educational value. At the end, they tell you: there’s the queue if you’re lucky to be able to buy tickets on the day. Top tip for the guide: “it’s not all about you… and no, o don’t want a food and drink recommendation on the short trip!”
The title of this tour is deceiving. You will not visit the Colosseum!!! You will see from the street the Fori Imperiali and the guide explains them. The guide was very entertaining; I think it is not his fault that this is a real scam! If you want to see the Colosseun you have to make a long long line and buy separate tickets. Forget this it is not worthwhile.
We met the guide at the location and the tour started on time. We paid £44 for a tour of the outside of the colosseum. I would advise you to double check what you are booking as we were under the impression it was an inside tour, i initally felt frustrated that I had not read the details properly, but this wasnt for long as the tour was fantastic. It was only a small group and the guide was so knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. This made such a difference as it made us engage with everything he was talking about. He took us to a small church, what he described as a hidden gem, and well worth the visit. Inside the church was an original mosaic of jesus and his apostles, which dated back to 6AD, it was breathtaking and i would highly reccommend. I would not hesitate in recommending this tour to anyone who is interested in booking this to gain insght into its history. A little tip, if you book Sunday, the admission fees for the tour inside the colosseum are free, there maybe a queue thou!!
Our guide was funny and knowledgeable but honestly…this was just a walk up and down the street with a few highlights. If you’re interested in seeing the inside of the colosseum - plan better than we did.
If you are a history person and like hearing all the facts this is for you!! But you basically just walk in a circle around the colosseum

The thieves let us book this tour right in the middle of italia 80 military parade right at the colleseum there was no way we could get to the location as like I say there was s military parade at the colleseum and of course as all sakes are final it was OK to keep our money dodgy as hell
Terrible experience! Stay away. Disrespectful and unpleasant attitude, and completely unavailable when assistance was needed. I arrived at the location on time, exactly as described on the ticket, but I was on the wrong floor. The moment I arrived, I sent a message to the company representative (Vladimir Jovanovic from Arena Tours), but received no response. I sent several messages and called multiple times. Only after half an hour did he finally bother to answer, and told me that the tour had already left without me. He spoke in an extremely rude, disrespectful, and humiliating manner. Do yourself a favor and book a tour with a different company.
They should know it is exterior only which you did stress. This tour provides background info re the structure and its history.
