Itinerary
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel/apartment/B&B in Rome and bring you to the railway station. A staff member will be waiting for you with your tickets and will help you take the train to Venice. On your arrival in Venice, your private guide will be waiting at the end of the platform, holding a sign with your name. You will start your day in Venice with a boat transfer to Murano, while enjoying the enchanting panoramas of the lagoon. Murano is world-famous for its Venetian glass. You will have the chance to see a glassmaker blowing into a tube to create whatever he wants, even one of those whimsical chandeliers. Timing includes transfers and the train ride.
Burano, a colorful island in the Venetian lagoon, is famous for its vibrantly painted houses and its long tradition of lacemaking. It is said that the houses were painted in bright colors so that fishermen could find their way home through the fog. Timing includes boat transfer.
Back on the main island, you will start the discovery of Venice with St. Mark's Square, surrounded by iconic monuments that reflect the city's rich history. The majestic St. Mark's Basilica dominates one end with its domes and golden mosaics. At the same time, the Doge's Palace, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, stands beside it as a symbol of Venetian power. The Campanile di San Marco rises imposingly on the vast square. Visits from outside; ask for St. Mark's Basilica tickets
The Bridge of Sighs in Venice is an enclosed white limestone bridge connecting the New Prison to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace, famously named for the sighs of prisoners as they catch their last glimpse of freedom.
The Rialto Bridge, a magnificent stone arch spanning the Grand Canal, is one of Venice's most iconic landmarks, known for its bustling shops selling souvenirs and jewelry, and as a vibrant hub of activity. Just a short walk from the bridge lies the historic Rialto Fish Market, where vendors have been selling fresh seafood for centuries, creating a vibrant and authentic Venetian experience. Your guide will accompany you back to the railway station, walking along the colorful alleways if this unique city. Timing includes train ride.

I must insist everyone reading this review. Take the trip to Venice! It is a must see, an experience to remember if you have never been. Claudia was our guide, and she did a terrific job of showing me and my wife around Venice. Venice is a massive maze, but she navigated it like the true professional that she is. Claudio thank you for giving us such a good woman to show us around. Even our driver Remo was considerate of our safety to and from the train station. The Private Day Trip From Rome To Venice is a must. Thank you to the whole team.
One the best tours we ever had! It was fast but enough time to see the highlights of Venice,Murano and Burano. Our tour coordinator was amazing and very knowledgeabl .I have the best birthday celebration in Venice. Please be aware that Venice is 4 hours away from Rome so you won't have time to relax but it was perfect for us.
From the moment we booked the tour until we were dropped off back at our rental suite we felt well taken care of. There was plenty of communication to ensure we had everything we needed and where we needed to connect with our guides. Our tour guide for the islands was Daria and she was such a joy to spend the day with. She gave us lots of interesting information about the island as well as free time to roam on our own. She also had several great food recommendations and took some great pics with our phone. Our driver was Remo and he was always right where we were told he would be, he was courteous and speedy but safe in getting us to and from the train station. In the island tours we also got a quick tour of the Murano glass factory and we got to meet one of the last lace makers of Burano. If you take this tour, the factory is not in full operation on Sundays so I’d recommend a week day as you would see a lot more production. Even so though we saw a gentleman whom been doing glass blowing for 72 years and made it look simple. Anna was the lace maker we met and she was very nice and there is a translator there that was able to facilitate our conversation. This tour was definitely expensive. The one on one with the guide however made an experience that we will remember way more so than some of the others we have taken. It was like being toured around the islands and Venice with a friend. If you have the financial means - take this tour!
Amazing from start to finish. Alex was prompt with pickup and drop off. Alessia was waiting and stayed with us until we boarded. Train ride was relaxing. The only concern was our return ticket showed Napoli so we were a little confused but all was good, we got on right train. Now for the day, Claudia was very friendly and knowledgeable. She provided us with so much history of the islands. We were treated like royalty. Thanks for the most incredible time.
Venice started out beautiful but after visiting the islands the weather changed drastically. We were drenched. But Donatella (bless her heart) drove on with the tour. I would suggest a backup plan for inclement weather. Pro: Having a driver and assistant to help me with the train was a great help! Also the boat captain was instrumental in getting us from island to island safely. Con: Pretty expensive for not having lunch included. Watch out for the vendors. They put much pressure on you to purchase items so one must be adamant if not interested. I would recommend this tour in warmer months. Donatella was very educated on the history of Venice.
Water taxi and the small islands tours. Tour guide was very knowledge of the area as she has loved there her whole life.
Trying to visit the many beautiful sites in Italy is challenging. We decided to take a day trip from Rome to Venice by Train. Left the hotel at 6:50am and returned in the evening at 11:00pm. The trip was will coordinated, from our hotel pickup to ensuring we got on the right train, our tour guide (Donatella) met us in Venice. She coordinated our tour and was very knowable concerning the history of Venice. She made sure we got back on the right train at 6:30pm. Our driver was waiting for us when we returned to Rome and drove us to our hotel. I would definitely recommend this trip.
It was a great trip and the train was easy. The only item to make is better would be reservations or tickets for church in Venice
What a great day! Our guide, Donatella, gave us the best visit to Venice, Murano and Burano. It was a long day, but we were not rushed at any location (although we cut it pretty close getting to our train back to Rome, but we made it with 2 minutes to spare :)), had time to look around, get snacks and dinner. Donatella gave us so much information about each island and helped us get a good spot for a gondola ride. I highly recommend this tour!!
This trip to Venice was the highlight of our vacation. My 82 year old mother said she had always secretly wished to ride in a gondola! Our guide Daria handled our group well (kids, adults, and several older ladies). It was nice not to have to worry about logistics. The communication from Elisabetta was great.
This day trip to Venice was the highlight of our vacation. Our guide Daria was great, as were the rest of the team. It was really nice to not have to worry about the logistics, especially as we had some older travelers in our group.
This trip via Viator, was the best tour of our trip. It was worry free. They picked us up at our hotel and had a guide meet us every step of the way. The island tour was fabulous and our guides were amazing. This is a must if you are in Rome. We loved it!
The family wanted to experience as much of Italy as possible so we chose this tour from Rome. We were picked up at our hotel on time so we could make the 7:35 am train to Venice. A provider representative had our tickets at the train station and showed us where to board our train. The ride was about 3 hrs each way but comfortable and interesting to see the countryside outside Rome. We had a little difficulty finding our boat in Venice in spite of having directions from the provider. No signs with our name, several small boats. Our family really enjoyed the ride to Murano and Burano. Our Venice tour guide, Danielle, met us after that at the boat dock, holding a Venice flag. We walked through the city but didn’t go into the Basilica or Doges Palace as I thought we would. Long train ride back to Rome.
Loved the tour of islands and History of Venice! Everyone was on time and made the best of our time.
We were very disappointed by this tour. We did a dozen tours over the course of 3 weeks and this one was the most expensive. Although, they did do exactly what they described, you did go on a boat at brief times, and you did have a train ride, and you had a tour guide in Venice, the experience was lacking. The boat ride had you drop off to a glass blowing company, which was nice but took a lot of time out of the day and was ridiculously priced and then had another stop which was fine, where we grabbed a quick bite to eat on our own and shopped quickly. The Venice tour guide was kind and knew a ton of information about the city, but given the price of the tour, I would have expected us to be going into some of the main things in Venice instead of just walking around the city all day not really seeing anything up close. There was a mishap with the transportation in the morning as well, but they addressed it. If the cost was different, I would have given it a higher rating.
OMGosh...we had the most amazing day with Cleo!!! She's a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable & detailed with every area she took us to in Venice. She made the day so inviting & comfortable, like we were visiting a friend! Every part of this Venice tour was perfect except for arriving back in Rome. To start the day, we were picked up promptly at 7am at our VRBO & taken to the train station where we were met by a guide to make sure we boarded the correct train. Cleo was there to greet us in Venice and of course gave an outstanding tour, she stayed with us until our train back to Rome. Our train got delayed during the return making us late arriving back in Rome. Our driver was a bit of a jerk because of our delay which wasn't our fault. This was just a small blip in our amazing day in Venice...Thank You Cleo!!!
This is an absolute must tour. We were picked up at our hotel in Rome, driven to the main train station in Rome where we were met by Claudiio who had our tickets for the train to and from Venice and he assisted us and make sure we got on the correct train to Venice. Sure, glad he was there, that train station is HUGE and very confusing for folks who speak only English. In Venice our guide was Igor, he met us at the train station and was with us the entire duration of our tour in Venice. I cannot say enough about how SPECTACTULAR Igor is as a guide. We were with him 6 and 1/2 hours and he made the day feel as Tho you were with a family member you had not seen a couple of years. My friend Jennifer did some shopping and asked Igor for a couple of specific types of stores, and of course he knew exactly where to take us. At one point after a couple of shops Igor was carrying her shopping bags with the items she had purchased. After it stopped raining, at one point in time he was carrying both of our umbrellas and offered to carry the backpack I had on. He went above and beyond to take us in areas where I am certain that most visitors in Venice never see. Kept asking if we were O.K. and if we were hungry or needed something to drink. At the end of the day, he stayed with us at the train station in Venice and went as far as getting into the coach we were assigned and help us get settled into our assigned seats. As I stated in the title of the review this is a Must Tour and for sure request IGOR AS YOU GUIDE!
We did a private tour with Lara and she was excellent!! She never tired throughout the day, was super attentive and made sure to give us the tour of a lifetime. She made our day … very personable and full of history and stories related to Venice.
First off this was so well planned I didn't have to do anything but make sure we woke up and were ready on time. Picked up at our hotel and assisted getting on the train. Then picked up at the Venice train station for the boat tour, then dropped off to our Venice guide, assisted back on train to Rome and picked up at rome station by driver to be dropped off. Communication was fantastic the whole time. The glass blowing demonstration on and gallery on murano were beautiful! Definitely a highlight. They even let my son try to blow glass which he loved. The gallery was beautiful. The boat tour guide Cristiano was so friendly and his boat was clean and we got to see so much beauty. Igor who was our guide in Venice was hilarious and very knowledgeable! He informed us of a lot of cool facts. He included my son who is 9 in the conversation and asked him what he wanted to see. Igor is the best. Venice is truely beautiful, I wish I would have spent a couple days there. Thank you!
Great day. Saw a lot of Venice in one day. Loved taking the water taxis. Cleo was our guide for the day,and made sure everything ran smoothly.
Cleo was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and fun. Venice is definitely worth the time, wish we could have stayed longer.
Amazing Tour! Elizabetta from the beginning was in contact with us and we felt protected and never left to ourselves! The driver picked us us met with Claudio who got us into the train. At Venice we met CLEO! amazing guide and very caring to our needs. 10 Stars!! I would recommend this to everyone!
This was an amazing experience. From the fabulous communication about the tour, the on time pickup at our hotel and return. Cleo was amazing with her guided tour. She is so personal with how she determined where to take us. Her choice of a restaurant in Venice was perfect. If I return to Rome, I will be booking this again. So much more to see and do. Thank you for a wonderful day
All I have to say is WOW!! My husband and I were so well taken care of on this amazing full day excursion from Rome to Venice. The team had the day organized down to the last detail, from a guide meeting us at the train in the morning with our tickets to exact directions to our boat driver in Venice, to helping reserve our lunch spot to good advice and what to see in Venice. Every guide we dealt with was wonderful and warm. This excursion also came with amazing surprises, a tour of the official Murano glass studio and a look at lace making in Burano, an island of color and wonder!! This was such a special day and I thank all the wonderful guides who made it happen, with effectiveness, hospitality and smoothness. Highly recommend!!
Fue muy atenta la guía del tour, nos hizo pasar un día agradable a pesar que solo contamos con un día en el paseo, quedamos encantados
