Once you find out where Germanico 28 is, you’re golden! It’s locating that that was the issue. But once you do, the gentleman helped us get inside and to the museum effortlessly! Highly recommend this experience
Had a guide and she was amazing. It was so easy using the skip the line. Agent took us all the way thru
First off the Vatican experience itself was amazing! We liked being able to go at your own pace and having tickets with a timed entrance was definitely the right call. This booking is a little misleading- it says skip the line, in a way it is because you have a ticket with timed entry and arent sitting in a line that likely was going to take hours but you still have to get in line for your entrance time and wait. Second the pick up for tickets was the most confusing I have purchased in all our viator experiences. The instructions said arrive at least 20 min early before our experience which was supposed to be 8am but the location wasn't open until 745. The address they provided was for a convenient store but the location is across the street- easy to find but if you didn't read absolutely all of the instructions it was confusing. I messaged early to ensure we wouldn't be late because the location was closed and the operators were very responsive and helpful even able to send our tickets via WhatsApp pdf which was really helpful but our entry time was 8:30 not 8- i can see this being added security to make sure people dont miss their timed entry but just another thing that was confusing. Still very glad we were able to get tickets and had a lovely day going at our own pace.
There is an ease of purchasing tickets with viator, but the upgrade price that they charge is ginormous. There are not great instructions on how to actually get your tickets and there’s a lack of understanding when you use this app and get your tickets how you have to still meet someone and they have to print out the tickets for you. When we arrive to our destination to get the tickets we were not graded kindly they gave us more confusion. They did not answer our questions and seem to appear to not have tickets actually for us after paying $222. The unfortunate part is when we finally did get the tickets. We had a guy that took us to the Vatican however the tickets were no good so he then had to purchase tickets which I found were only $22 versus the €222 that they charged us. If you can purchase directly at the site, you want to see it is a little bit more challenging, but the surcharges and the lack of instructions from this company will make it worth it in the end.
While you do miss the extra 1-2 hour wait, and the museums are breathtaking, the crowds are immense. Plan ahead for early entry.
You still wait in line but the organizers were nice. You wait about 30 mins and then go inside to massive crowds. No skip the line for the chapel.
Staff very unfriendly and rude - seem to have forgotten where they are working. Not clear where to get actual tickets - showed staff pass on phone and sent us in the skip the line entrance. When we finally got there was told we have to have a paper ticket and given no instructions where to go except “get out of line “
Tour office was right around the corner from the Vatican entrance. Instructions were simple. We walked right to the timed entry line, skipping over the literal 1000s of people waiting to purchase.
Meeting spot is BigBus making it easy. Place to wat next door while you wait
It was wonderful to see the amazing wonders from so long ago preserved for the world to see. There is a lot of walking so be prepared. The Sistine Chapel was awe inspiring.
Read all directions when choosing this tour. We were told a location for the wrong time of arrival. So be extra early if you are concerned on timing.
Was an amazing experience to imagine the history and age of all the beautiful art and artifacts. Very busy in many areas in early October and that is not my comfort zone. Well worth the skip the line.
Don't bother visiting the Vatican without skip the line tickets. Our skip the line tickets got us in within minutes of the arrival time. The line of people with regular admission tickets was hundreds of meters long and reported to be more than five hours wait.
The skip the line was amazing. They showed us exactly what to do and we sailed past the crowds. The Vatican was incredible and do do it with no stress was fantastic.
100/10. so unbelievably cool and pretty. not to mention, we were late to our original time slot by a little bit and they were nice enough to get us in for a later slot. we can’t thank you guys enough!! it was an incredible experience. this was my first time in rome so thank you for making it memorable
We used a wheelchair. There is very little guidance for the accessible routes, and these miss important parts of the museum. The online maps are confusing and there is very little direction in the museum. Staff were not very helpful, especially regarding the accessible routes. My recommendation is to study the layout extremely thoroughly before entering and print out OA map of a decent size. The actual exhibits, paintings etc are of course outstanding.
Great tour but I suggest you buy an option that includes the tour of st Peter’s Bassilica and save 90 minutes of walking and waiting in line
Rome is a crazy city and any help you can get to obtain tickets is welcome. The number of people is amazing. It's always busy. We found the ticket pick-up location, it was addressed clearly and found via Google maps. The ticket printout went quickly and the agent took us outside and showed us exactly where to queue up 15 minutes prior to the entry. The entry times are strictly enforced, so be there 30 minutes early for pick-up. Vatican museum was crowded on the weekend/Saturday and is organized in a serial fashion as you have to go through the exhibits to get to the Sistine Chapel toward the end. Well worth the time! Beautiful art and nothing like the Sistine Chapel. Be prepared to walk, like everything else in Rome. You exit exactly where you started, so have to walk all around the wall to the right to get to St. Peter's Basilica after the museum. Had to wait for another day to do that and the dome!
Great day exploring the vatican museum stunning art works, tapestries, sculptures, Beautfull gardens,Very interesting visit if your interested in history & historic buildings. The systine chaple amazing. We had skip the line tickets which was great the only issue was having to find the big bus shop to get printed tickets on the morning as I assumed electronic ticket would be fine not great when you are new to a city so don't know where these places are. But having said that fantastic day a lot of walking our guide was brilliant i can't remember her name but we visited on 30/9/26 @ 8am & didn't leave untill 2pm. But once you are inside you can stay untill close @8pm so we were told
Museums and Sistine Chapel were fantastic. The “skip the line” is misleading. You skip the huge line and walk to a slightly smaller line with not a great deal of order to it. Ticket operator told us to walk by everyone and not wait and walk right in and this was far from accurate. I would still recommend buying advance tickets online but I fail to see the advantages of what we purchased here.
great experience, very worthwhile
Good the service was amazing it was great I loved it in Italy
First, the place to pick up tickets was a hike from the actual line. We were unaware of this before hand so were running back to get to our allotted time. Second, "skip the line" just skips the main line, it puts you in another line that is nearly as long of others who have "skip the line" tickets. Not worth it.
This was worth the money! The line for the Vatican was very long, we were able to find the meeting point easily, got our tickets, and were given clear directions on where to go.
⚠️ BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY. EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE, INTIMIDATING ATTITUDE AND EXCESSIVE PRICE My wife, my son and I had a truly horrible and very unpleasant experience with this company. We purchased tickets several days in advance for the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel for last weekend, trusting that we were booking a legitimate service and that the price we were being charged bore some reasonable relation to the official ticket price. Nothing could have been further from the truth. They charged us €90 for a ticket whose official price was €20 — more than four times the price of the ticket. The supposed added value they claim to provide is skip-the-line access, but the official additional charge for this service is only a few euros. We simply cannot understand how this could possibly justify charging €90 for a €20 ticket. However, the most serious issue was not just the price. When we tried to ask for an explanation for such an enormous price difference, they responded aggressively, using an intimidating tone and rushing us, to the point that we felt extremely uncomfortable and worried that they might ultimately refuse to let us in. We were there with our son, which made the situation particularly unpleasant and distressing. I completely understand that a company may charge a commission for handling the booking, acting as an intermediary or providing an additional service. What I find completely unacceptable is taking advantage of tourists’ lack of knowledge about official prices in order to charge disproportionate amounts and then, when the customer asks for an explanation, responding in a way that makes them feel intimidated. The difference between the official price and the €90 we were charged should have been clearly explained before the purchase. In my opinion, the price bears absolutely no reasonable relation to the service provided. We felt misled, extremely angry and, above all, very poorly treated when we tried to ask for an explanation. After this experience, my recommendation is to exercise extreme caution before booking anything with this company and always check the official price directly with the Vatican before purchasing any tickets.
It was amazing to see the extraordinary long lines that we got to skip . We got a really nice guide that was very informative.
The good thing is we were able to get last minute entry tickets to the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel through them. It was easy and their location was very close. But they were supposed to walk with us and guide us into the entry. They did not they pointed to where it was and set us off on our own. It was also supposed to be skip the lines. We didn’t- we had to wait in a huge line to enter. There was no skipping the lines like it sounded.
Very much so worth skipping the line! We did have a hiccup finding the location as there is another “Big Bus” company a street over, we got confused as the address showed a clothing store icon on Google Maps- address was correct though! Located conveniently near The Vatican.
We had a great introduction to our tour with Eliseo, I think . He was fantastic and gave us some great insight on what to expect and his recommendations too.
We really loved being there however it was so hot and there’s way too many people we found out that it’s best to go early in the morning for anyone that is going to book this because it’s chaotic if you do it later in the day, but it’s beautiful, but hot as hell we went on September 26, 2026 There are only parts of the Vatican that has air conditioning However I’m glad we got to see it, as it’s definitely something to experience! If I came back, I would do it early in the morning
The pickup location was pretty easy to find, we took a taxi and he dropped us off a couple stores down, the worker explained everything very well of how the ticket redemption worked and the security line. The regular line wrapped around the corner and we got to skip all of that. It tooks us about 3.5-4 hours to see everything since it was still pretty packed with other visitors and guided groups.
Our tour was cancelled on the morning of with no reason given and we were unfortunately unable to source alternative, affordable tickets to see Vatican City and definitely couldn’t have queued with our 8 month old in the heat. Really disappointed to have missed this sight
I arrived early at the box office the man rushed explaining and sent me on my way without clear directions. It was 5:30pm skip the queue however the queue was 300+ people long and didn’t get into the museum until 6:30pm. It was rammed, squashed in like sardines, pushed about. It’s beautiful in there but cannot appreciate it due to the volume of people they let in at one time. Crazy & for the amount I paid for skip the queue I expected more
Terrific guided tour! Our guide shared a ton of detail and did a great job with good English. Thank you very much!
If no guided tour I recommend the audio speaker rental. Otherwise wandering through the art history is amazing but can be confusing for a newbie. Like me 🤓
This was an absolute con, this was booked as Part of a 50th Birthday trip and cost £375, the meeting place is hard to find and no one had ever heard of Golden Rome Tours , turns out its actuallg operated by the Big Bus company, after 2 hours of trying to find this in the blistering heat and calling the contact number numerous times, which just rang out, my daughter eventually found the correct office and was met with 2 aggressive Italian men who grudgingly gave her 3 tickets to the vatican museum( bearing in mind we had booked a tour with que jumper tickets, total con. Since my return to the UK I have tried to contact them for even a partial refund....tumbleweed. Avoid
Very disappointed in this company and their service. We were promised a guide to greet us and show where to go and all we got were the tickets sent via what’s app an hour before. Ended up waiting to get into Vatican for an hour even with expensive Skip the Line tickets. I’d avoid this company if I were to go again and at very least really modify my expectations.
All good Thanks 🙏🏻 and have fun
Service was excelente we visite botj of psrt museum and sistine chspel
Didn’t realize this was self guided! Would redo a guided tour for the full experience, guided tours get to skip the line as well so that would have been a better bang for our buck.
it was really nice, we were three people it was so good
I came here to visit Vatican with my friends, amazing experience!
Definitely book skip the line. So much faster! Also I do not recommend with a guide. Have done before and you miss so much. Rent the audio guide inside and enjoy the museums in your own time and terms. We spent 4 1/2 hours enjoying the museum. Stopped at the restaurant for a brief cappacino break and brought water. My only mix up was picking up tickets at Big Bus…I was looking for a bus and not a business and my map directions took me past the business (worker inside said that happens a lot).
Great place! Fantastic art and good guidance
Nice guidance! Great communication:)
A visit to Vatican is a must when being in Rome. BUT... make sure you book a timeslot for the entrance and when it's not so crouded. We werent' able to see all things due to the amount of people and the guided tours. When being in the Sistine Chapel the people working there, just pusched us through so we couldn't really look properly. It was soooo crouded everywhere. So when going pick the right time.
Not enough info on meeting place poor directions more info on where and how to get there lineups were crazy
The Vatican was absolutely beautiful and so was the Sistine Chapel. I definitely recommend getting tickets in advance to skip the 3+ hour queue to get a ticket at the door. The only thing that we did not like was the amount of group tours going on. It was extremely cramped and they would stop in the middle of hallways with 30+ people, making it extremely hard to move through the museum.
Great experience! Recommend skip the queue, very busy place! Lots of different amazing stages of the vatican to see. Allow 2-3 hours to get round.
